Reviews for The Old Vicarage

Review 1:No particular remarks.

Review 2:Very warm welcome. Good geographical situation. Very big room with a beautiful view. Complete breakfast "à la carte". Very clean and pleasant place.

Review 3:really pleasant owners. prewarned us about the carnival, advised on local place to eat, invited us to join them & friends after carnival. very friendly, room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. breakfast was brilliant and the owners were happy for us to be a little late for it. would definitely recommend, not far from M5 so good location and walking distance to pubs and restaurants in Wellington.

Review 4:Not in Wellington and nowhere local to get an evening meal without driving. With fully laden car not an option. Nearest pub a dead loss!

Review 5:Comfortable and spotless room & ensuite with some nice touches - eg. linens and tea tray for a brew. Very civilized breakfast layout and food - eg home made jams and quality crockery. Amiable host.

Review 6:We had read online that the parking area was difficult to find, so we were prepared. It would have been helpful to have a little sign under their B&B sign indicating as to where the parking area was. We also found it very difficult to find a place in the local area to eat dinner. We ended driving back towards Taunton for that. The WiFi at the property was very up and down. It wasn't a massive problem as we were out most of the time, but a little annoying when you did want to use it.

Review 7:We had a good stay at this B&B. The facilities in the room were very good.

Review 8:With the road works it was hard to park and had to take a long diversion. But this was not their fault. Down to council.

Review 9:There was nothing not to like. best bed and breakfast we have stayed in

Review 10:Road works made it awkward to get to the parking but no fault of the owners just bad luck!!

Review 11:Lovely people very welcoming. Very clean and all you need and more from a guest house. Bed was really comfy and breakfast was lovely. Even made a packed lunch for my partner as he had to leave early to go to work!!

Review 12:Loved it all thanks

Review 13:Loved it all - clean, comfortable, Graham and Sarah ensured we had everything we needed (including tickets for the flower show - thanks++!) would definitely stay again.

Review 14:The owners had thought through every aspect of how to make their guests' stay comfortable. Good beds, spacious rooms and bathrooms, every spare supply you could think of... and a top-notch breakfast with lots of home-made jams and fruit from the garden.

Review 15:Personal touch.....Everything you can think of was available....tooth brush, toothpaste, comb....even a sewing kit!!...Homemade jams, marmalade and honey.....amazing place to stay.

Review 16:We were made most welcome and enjoyed a very comfortable stay. It was hot at the time, the house and room were cool and restful. There were stairs to negotiate but as it is an old Victorian property, they were wide with adequate handrails.

Review 17:I would like to have been advised before I went where the access to the car park is as it was slightly difficult to find.

Review 18:Warm friendly and obliging people, excellent facilities breakfast, nothing too much trouble and spotlessly clean

Review 19:A very relaxed ambience created by a couple who were attentive without ever being intrusive.. A well located base from which to explore other parts of Somerset.

Review 20:A very homely and comfortable B&B where my bags were actually carried upstairs! We've stayed in lots of big hotels and never been made to feel so valued as guests. Personal touch with a phone call to offer is guidance through Taunton (we were a little lost). We would recommended this B&B to anyone staying over in the Wellington/ Taunton area.

Review 21:I bit short of electrical sockets but I managed

Review 22:The owners who run the hotel and the quiet pleasant ambience of the old house and gardens. Very handy for the M5

Review 23:Nothing

Review 24:Very spacious room, lovely hosts, delicious breakfast, a very nice place to stay. We were only there one night, but actually wished we could have stayed longer.

Review 25:There is nothing to dislike. Perfect!!!

Review 26:Where do I start, lovely gardens, spacious spotless comfy room. en suite was spotless and the shower was excellent, there is enough tea, coffee & biscuits to suit every taste in the room, and the breakfast was probably one of the best I have ever eaten, the hosts are extremely helpful and welcoming. The homemade jams and honey they serve at breakfast are available to purchase to take home. We will be using the Old Vicarage when ever we stay in Wellington (at least twice a year). seriously recommend this B & B to anyone.

Review 27:Unable to sample cooked breakfast , breakfast only available after 8.30 am on sunday which was to late for us leaving at 8.0am

Review 28:Warm friendly welcome, and nice comfortable room , well equiped

Review 29:Unfortunatly the location is slightly lacking, not so much a problem for me as i was only on a night stop. but very few shops or resturants within walking distance or in the town itself. But if you drive 15 minutes down the road all these an be found.

Review 30:Excellent rooms, bed was extremely comfy. The room was equipt with a TV, wardrode, sofa chairs, desk/dressing table, fire place and bathroom. well furnished felt very much at home. The staff were very helpful and amde sure i had everything i needed and if not went out of there way to get it.

Review 32:Nothing, it was all good

Review 33:The hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They provided the most delicious home cooked breakfast from local produce (much of which came from their own garden) the rooms were spacious and the beds extremely comfortable.

Review 34:Like the B&B that has the old character home feel to it which I loved, yet all latest modern bathroom suite was great, comfiest bed & very nice sized room. The owners are very helpful & so welcoming. Would come back again in the future.

Review 35:The only thing I can think of is having to pay by cash.

Review 38:Traditional, very friendly staff, beautiful garden open to enjoy, superb breakfast options

Review 39:We loved everything about this place. The room, the house, the hosts, the food, the garden, the quiet, the bath! Sarah didn't miss a trick in decorating and furnishing and fitting out the room for guests. It was lovely, and Sarah and Graham are lovely too. I only wish we could have stayed longer.

Review 40:The additional bed was not very comfortable.

Review 41:Very friendly, homely. Excellant service, very clean and prestine. Breakfast was amazing, freshly made to order with home made jams and lovely coffee, served on quality china.

Review 42:Lovely atmosphere, Sarah and Graham were very welcoming. We share a love of gardening and were very impressed with theirs. The breakfast was first class, their produce (honey and jams) and other local produce were scrumptious.

Review 43:Wasn't enough plug/electrical points around the bed and room only an extension socket by the tv. And you can hear other guests coming and going both inside and out but on the whole no big issues.

Review 44:Made to feel welcome and had a very nice stay. Very nice en-suite reasonable room size and space.

Review 93:Everything - comfortable stay with great breakfast

Review 94:We liked everything about The Old Vicarage. It is a really great place to stay and we would thoroughly recommend it to our friends and family. The location is good and easy to find, the house is lovely, our room was beautiful with a really comfortable bed, our hosts were great and last but by no means least the breakfast was excellent.

Review 95:The room was lovely with off road parking. The breakfast menu was varied and the fish cakes were excellent. The large bath towels were great. I would return to this Guest house

Review 96:Nothing; it was an ideal stay. The debit card machine was not up and running yet but the Post Office was only 100 yards away so that was no trouble.

Review 97:The space, décor, comfort and cleanliness of the room. The quality and quantity of the breakfast. The helpfulness of the staff - because of the traffic, we did not book in until nearly 9 pm; Graham suggested that if we needed a meal, we should try a nearby restaurant; while we were quickly freshening up, he took the precaution of reserving a table just in case. It turned out to be one of the tastiest meals we have ever enjoyed! The location was also ideal as we were visiting an old friend only a few hundred yards away.

Review 98:Breakfast had great variety, something for everyone. Building was very classy, with a touch of its history throughout but with still all the modern comforts. My wife was very impressed with the 6 home made jam options.

Review 99:We loved the location. Was very impressed with the choice of decaf tea and coffee and earl grey in our room. Friendly service, felt at home. Breakfast and homemade jams amazing. We will be back! Hopefully next time for longer and we can go for walks and explore more. I also liked the fact all the guest sit round one table together for breakfast. I am not the best at talking to new people but really enjoyed it and met some lovely people.
