Reviews for Lochearnhead Hotel

Review 1:The only problem was the shower above the bath - the mixer was difficult - either scalding or freezing but I had a bath instead.

Review 2:We loved the owners/the location/the views over the loch/log fires/breakfast/nice rooms

Review 3:Leaving

Review 4:Everything, cannot praise this hotel enough..great and honest service backed up with incredible food. Basic at first sight but soon realised it was home from home once settled in. Some of the big hotel chains could learn a thing or 2 here! Thank you Amanda and Robert for an incredible time, can't wait to return in the Spring!

Review 5:Wifi poor in bedroom, but OK in rest of hotel.

Review 6:Superb room with loch views. Very relaxing experience throughout the hotel. Good selection of food for breakfast. Enjoyed 2 evening meals, made to order which were very tasty and fresh.

Review 7:only one thing , the shower not so good, an overbath with no temp cobtrols.found it difficult to get it right. Allthough there was plenty of hot water for the large bath.

Review 8:Food was excellent, home cooked and freshly prepared. Everywhere was spotlessly clean.and property well maintained. Good service for meals and at the bar Lovely and quiet , and View was amazing !

Review 9:Friendly hotel in a great location overlooking the Loch. Amanda is a fabulous host with a lovely smile and nothing is too much trouble. Several guests were regulars and the place does have a relaxed 'home from home' feel about it so I'm not surprised many guests return time after time. Food was very good all freshly cooked and well prepared.

Review 10:In the morning we found it very warm in communal areas & hall & a bit uncomfortable for us although I imagine others may like this.

Review 11:Really friendly staff, always happy to help & kindly stored my bike in the garage, lovely food, breakfast & dinner, staff very open to catering fpr different diets.

Review 12:Nothing

Review 13:There was nothing to dislike about this hotel.Owners food location choice of drinks in the bar all excellent. Would definitely recommend this little gem of a hotel

Review 14:For me the bed was a little hard and I was not able to get WiFi in the bedroom just in the public area. Please be aware of steps from car park to entrance.

Review 15:We had an enjoyable stay at Lockhearhead Hotel. Hotel had just opened after the winter break so everywhere nice and clean warm with a Cosy log fire in the bar. Lovely view of Lock from bedrooms at front of hotel well worth the extra. Great linen bedding Varied menu well cooked food.

Review 16:Room was a bit too warm and no way to adjust heating other than opening the window!

Review 17:We liked everythign at the hotel from the fantastically warm welcome on arriving to the lovely hotel. yes, the decor is not the most modern but it is homely and spotlessly clean and the owners go out of their way to be helpful. the food was also excellent. We also had an evening meal one evening which was good quality and great value for money.

Review 18:The staff were so friendly and helpful. Nothing seemed too much trouble to them. The view from our bedroom window even with the rain was wonderful .

Review 19:Everything about our stay was excellent. Friendly greeting on arrival, very comfortable room with large fluffy towels , excellent dinner menu beautifully prepared and presented, and a fantastic breakfast. The view across Loch Earn is superb too.

Review 20:Quite a struggle getting the luggage up to the hotel and 1st Floor room (but that was our fault for having so much!)

Review 21:Wonderful location. Everyone very friendly and helpful. The owner helped me up with some of the luggage too! Food pretty good.

Review 22:We were surprised to find that our room did not have a shower but instead had one of those rubber attachments you connect to the taps of the bath. The public areas are a bit tired and I wouldn't have liked to sit on some of the furniture. It's more of a B&B than a hotel and needs a bit of money spending on it. It receives good reviews, I believe, as the owner and staff are so keen to please and the location and breakfast are both excellent but dinner was disappointing and not cheap. Shame.

Review 23:The location of this hotel is just stunning and it must be particularly nice to have a loch view. The staff are very pleasant and keen to help. Breakfast was cooked to order and was very good.

Review 24:Would like to have stayed an extra night and enjoyed time on the loch

Review 25:The location - overlooking the loch Dinner - great menu and excellent service - glad we didn't eat in Stirling en route - the dinner was worth travelling for

Review 26:I did not have a great sleep due to the ageing bed that was in need of replacing. I did not like having no shower and was left with a rubber pipe style shower head which was not great.

Review 27:I stayed at the Lochearnhead Hotel and while it is a really nice place with great staff and fantastic. The food was good, the bar a cosy snug and good service from the guys from check in to booking out.

Review 28:Nothing!!!

Review 29:The welcome and warmth from the owners and staff was excellent - a real family feel to the whole hotel - the food was of a high standard and always piping hot. The views from the restaurant and the bedroom were magnificent.

Review 30:We only stayed for one night but had a great time. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners. The food is excellent and I was able to use the owners garage to park my bike overnight. Highly recommended!

Review 31:Shower - tubs are deep and narrow - difficult to stand in and climb in and out of. Door locks - need key from both sides- minor inconvenience

Review 32:Location (nice views and easy to find) Food (fresh and tasty) Staff (very friendly and helpful)

Review 33:Nothing to dislike at this hotel!

Review 73:Scenery Lovely bright room. Really clean. Friendly staff.

Review 74:Great view. We were made very welcome. Food was excellent too.

Review 75:no venison or pheasant on the day I dined , otherwise everything ok ps other guests had no personality[never spoke] NOT hotels fault.

Review 76:the haggis in pastry , and friendly staff.

Review 77:Fabulous location with great views of the Loch. Amanda and Robert are wonderful hosts and the local food served in the restaurant and cooked by Robert is outstanding.

Review 78:I was in rear room, number 4, overlooked a garden and house with no privacy. Had to shut curtains as people could see right in. Shower was no better than a trickle and TV wasn't viewable as up on top of wardrobe with no clear picture from flat screen at that angle. When I mentioned the shower I was told I was the first to mention it: the landlady failed to give me the impression they would do anything about the shower or check it out. Despite being a resident and the hotel having a large dinner party for local ladies they wouldn't let us book a table in the bar so had to sit their for two hrs to guarantee a table. The loch view was £10 more expensive and worth it as shower pressure was much stronger. Avoid room four!

Review 79:Friendly and loch view room nice

Review 80:The decor is a little dated however this in no way spoilt our stay as everything else including our hosts were excellent

Review 81:We stayed for 3 nights and had a lovely stay. We received a warm welcome from Robert on arrival and he was very informative about the local area and wildlife. Amanda was very bubbly and such a lovely hostess, nothing was too much trouble for her and she worked tirelessly to make sure we had a fantastic stay. She always had a smile on her face which was entirely natural. Our compliments to the chef " Robert " your food was excellent ! A real joy and something you should be proud of ! Our hosts could not have been more welcoming and ensured we had a fantastic stay. We hope to return again sometime in the future.

Review 82:No shower in the bathroom

Review 83:Food was very good. Hotel owners Amanda and Robert were lovely, hospitable and knowledgable Location and views of Loch Earn

Review 84:What more can i say everything was excellent including the advise on where to visit in the local area. I think this was the best food I heve ever had in a hotel.

Review 85:Our 3 night stay at this hotel was excellent. Robert and Amanda were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The meals were excellent cooked by Robert himself and Amanda served us with a smile. Our room was very clean and comfortable with a view out the back of the hotel but the view from the dining room, lounge and bar were overlooking the loch and mountains, beautiful. We would recommend this hotel to family and friends, and will certainly be back. Thanks Rob and Amanda for the invite to call in when we are up their way for a coffee etc. Thank you both for a wonderful stay.

Review 86:We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners are very hospitable, helpful and hard working. This hotel is kept very clean and tidy. The welcome we received from Robert was excellent. We stayed in a room with a view of the loch. It was stunning. The meals were fabulous and good value for money. I would definitely recommend the Almond and Blueberry tart, very moreish. Amanda is very attentive and a very cheerful person. Nothing is too much to ask for at this hotel. The breakfast is superb, Stornoway black pudding and the sweet tomatoes are lovely. We don't normally have a cooked breakfast every day when we are away but we could not resist it. There was no feeling of being "bagged up" and there was not a sign of grease on the plates. We would recommend this hotel to friends and family. We will most definitely be back. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay at your Hotel.

Review 87:We didn't like the fact that we were there for only one night.Didn't like leaving.

Review 88:The staff were very helpful and they were very keen to please. Food wasgreat and the view from the dinning room was fantastic. A reallybeautiful part of Scotland.

Review 89:Only negative I would say and it is minor is that they need to get WIFI in the rooms, but again that is minor as you are in this beautiful part of the world, sat on a loch.

Review 90:The owners were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Good wholesome food and very enjoyable breakfast. Second day of our stay, I asked the landlord if they could get rack of lamb, this was no problem and as he is also the cook produced a wonderful rack of lamb for our dinner, so if staying for a few days treat yourself and have him do you a rack. We were there to mountain bike and found a few good tracks to Strathyre. Rob and Amanda were very helpful and if we are ever in the area again will book a night or two

Review 91:We liked the countryside and the location of the hotel. I was not so sure when I saw the hotel from the outside but it was really nice. I just fancy it when it´s owed by a family. Quiet and nice.

Review 92:Not much, though we had some problems with the over-bath shower.

Review 93:The friendliness and helpfulness of the hoteliers Robert and Amanda. The food, cooked by Robert and served by Amanda. The view of the loch.

Review 94:Having to leave! But hopefully will be back again soon.

Review 95:Upgrade of room to magnificent View of Loch and mountains. good food, reasonably priced. location excellent. Warm friendly welcome by owner at people friendly family run hotel.

Review 96:This is a family-run hotel, very good quality and excellent food, with no pretensions and a very friendly, helpful attitude. Beautiful views over the loch from the loch-view rooms.

Review 97:I was sorry about not having a single room as I was walking by myself, but hey, it's a sort of luxury, I am aware of that. My room was excellent however.

Review 98:Everything.

Review 108:Great food. Very friendly and efficient service. Superb views.

Review 109:Very friendly and welcoming. Lovely double room over looking the loch.

Review 110:The location was stunning and the owners were most welcoming. The breakfast was a great start to the day.

Review 112:Location, size of room, facilities
