Hotel Axos sells fast on our site. This recently refurbished, 3-star hotel is conveniently located in Platanias, Crete΄s most well-known seaside village, 350 feet from a sandy beach and 3.1 miles from the historic city of Rethymno. Greek breakfast is served in the morning.
The hotel is suitable for couples and for families, and offers a friendly and pleasant atmosphere. All apartments, suites and studios feature private balconies.
The hotel has a large swimming pool surrounded by a charming and colourful garden, the perfect place for enjoying the sunny days. For younger visitors there is a childrens' swimming pool, as well as highchairs and baby cots.
Axos is easily accessible by public transport and there are many shops and restaurants in the area.

Review 1：Large comfortable room with full kitchenette. Very clean. Staff great and helpful. Parking a short distance away. Beach 2 minute walk. The breakfast was substantial with added flavors of local cuisine. We would definitely stay there again.

Review 2：Room often smelt of drainage when you first walk in. Busy area so if you want somewhere a little quieter, this is not the right area.

Review 4：The only little minor issue is there's no wifi in the rooms, only available in the lobby, bar and swimming pool area.

Review 5：The hotel was clean and quit.The staff was also very sweet and helpful. When we had a question and needed something, they got on it right away. The location of the hotel wa also perfect if you want to visit most of Crete. We will definitely stay there again!

Review 6：WiFi doesn't work in the room. Noise from the bar beside hotel, (nice music etc but if if you prefer quiet evening could be hard).

Review 8：Bathroom is really small. We got room on the first floor close to reception,and breakfast zone, so it was noisy in the morning. There is a bar outside of a hotel with a loud music playing, could be an issue for someone.

Review 9：Nice place to stay. Good rooms with balcony,kitchen-you got everything you need for cooking, pool zone is nice as well.

Review 10：The hotel has a bar where loud music plays until 2 am every night. That might be fine for some party-goers, but not for us (family with kids). For several nights it was hard to get asleep. (Of course, you can shut the windows completely and turn AC on, but that's doubtful pleasure).

Review 11：Nice staff, not far from the sea, many shops and restaurants in the area. There is a jewellery shop which is run by the hotel owners, and guests have a discount there. We had a balcony opening into the patio which was also nice.

Review 12：We do not like anything! They gave us a room in the back facing a parking lot. The pictures have nothing to do with the room we were assigned, super antique lamps, one tiny bathroom, water everywhere (bathroom, kitchen). We appreciate being there only one night.

Review 14：I have killed two cockroaches! The rooms were smaller then advertised. Bathroom is a joke, 2,5 m2 in size. Aircondition units installed on the balcony.

Review 16：Small swimming pool not available until 8am. Huge (5-6cm) cockroach-like flying bugs in the bathroom. Small bath. Noises from the bar and the street until late at night... this is a party town. Pebbles gravel layers at he beach, not a perfect one.

Review 17：Great as a set off base for the island sightseeing. Shops, restaurants and bard at site. Apartments we got were smaller than we booked, but nice enough. Good mattress, air conditioning worked. Good standard but not as per 3 star hotel..more like 2 star. Bar stuff is just like a good buddy to talk and drink:)

Review 25：Maria at Axos was so welcoming and hospitable so much so that I would go back again just to see her. She was really great with my 4 year old son too. Extremely helpful and always on hand to answer any questions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Axos and wish we had booked to stay longer. The room was stunning, only the bathroom was a little on the compact side! Will definitely go back. Also, be sure to browse the jewellery store attached to the hotel, beautiful products and you get a discount.

Review 33：A very, very nice familiy-run hotel in Platanias! Situated close to the street but still fine in terms of noise. The kitchenette in the studio was fully equipped, though we did not use it as intentionally planned, for the nice breakfast was available at 5€ per person, which we enjoyed. Close by are many tavernas and bars as well as small supermarkets, where you can get almost everything from fruits to water, vine, snacks and bread and whatever you may like. The staff is very kind and helpful and we had many laughs with them. :-) The pool area is also nice, though we spent most time on the beach close by. It's only a 5 minute walk from the Axos hotel. The bus to Rethymno stops just right across the street. Don't forget to wave your ticket, for the bus might just drive by, if you don't. Greek style. ;-) Our recommendation: Spend the evening in the oldtown of Rethymno, it is just so lovely, get something to eat in a restaurant close to the old harbour (but not directly at the harbour, for it is too expensive) and stroll around through the lovely small alleys in the oldtown after sunset, the ambience is soooo nice!. You can probably not find any better accommodation at this rate with this kind of service and facilities. (We spend a week in Platanias/Adelianos Kampos with a group of friends and most of them where jealous at our nice accommodation!) The whole hotel is furnished in a modern style. Have a drink at the bar in the evening or enjoy your breakfast outside, or maybe only a frappé - it is lovely. We will most likely come back here someday. :-) Greetings to the Axos-Family! Review 34：Booked a double bed, given a twin, narrow balcony and quite noisy if you stay in the rooms on the outside (i.e. not looking at the pool).

Review 39：We loved the place. It is run by a charming and sweet family who made us feel extremely welcome and valued. Great location (1 block from the sandy beach with an approximately 5 ft wide belt as you enter the water). Many good restaurants and plenty of shopping available for self caterers. It is a lively place with nice and cosy bars at night and Axos own bar is popular and has several theme nights and live band events going on. WE LOVED THE PLACE and can't wait to go there again.

Bathroom veeery small and without fan absorber - it' sometimes problem if 4 people wan' use in the morning at the same time ... To small table on the terrase as well as in the kitchen . Cutlery exact calculated for 4 persons - sometimes problem . On LCD only BBC - others only greek-TV .

Review 45：very friendly staff. Our room was enought big with very big terasse . each sec. day - new towels , each day fast cleaning of rooms . Good service for value . Very good equiped kitchen ( all possible machine's). Few meters to beach and to supermarkets . Restaurant's , bus-stop, rent a car in opposite to the entrance . Very good located hotel

Review 46：We had a very nice stay at the Axos Hotel. The service is very highand the appartments are of high standard to be only 3 stars. Allpersonel is very kind and flexible. They guide you to have the goodexperiences at Crete. The breakfast was international standard. Thepostition of the hotel is perfect, near by the sea, close to manyrestaurants, super markets, shops and the bus to Rethymnon. We canonly recommend this hotel.
