Reviews for Mansewood Country Guest House

Review 1:Wifi not really strong enough to reach bedroom reliably.

Review 2:Friendly welcome. Cosy rooms and excellent breakfast. Good tip to eat at Mhor 84 just up the road, we had an excellent dinner there!

Review 3:The owner was rude and unwelcoming on arrival because we had rung the doorbell twice (we couldn't hear it from outside the house) and verbally aggressive when we queried why there was a surcharge on both credit AND debit cards. Did not feel comfortable or relaxed in the place at all.

Review 4:Great location. Nice house.

Review 5:Breakfast is between 8 and 8.30 and you choose the components of it the night before. Didn't make us feel like we were on a relaxing holiday!

Review 6:The lovely beds pillows and linens

Review 7:Very friendly reception, excellent dinner with real log fire, comfortable and attractive. Nice garden, had the weather permitted. A good base for walking holidays.

Review 8:We received a very warm welcome even though we didn't arrive until 11pm (after the Open golf)! Very comfy beds and excellent breakfast. The owner was very helpful in suggesting various walks for us.

Review 9:There was nothing I didn't like!

Review 10:So peaceful, beautiful rooms, and charming friendly hosts. Especially liked the way they sorted out my asthma friendly room, best place I have ever stayed !

Review 11:The internet was unreliable... but I did not expect anything more. Fine when it worked and it was a great excuse to unplug for a while.

Review 13:Nothing at all

Review 14:Super hospitality. Open fires. Home cooked dinner and breakfast. Comfy bed. Beautiful location. Would loved to stay longer - so much to do in such a beautiful area.

Review 15:WiFi availability limited to small area in house. Common use areas had some restrictions we weren't aware of: consumption of our own food & beverages was not allowed except in sleeping room. Should be advised at arrival.

Review 16:Great hosts, proximity to Loch and quaint marina. Easy access to other great sights of area. Alan had fantastic recommendations for our day trips. So glad we did them! Sharon made custom-ordered tasty breakfasts for us each morning. Rooms are charming and well-renovated as this is a 100+ year old toll house.

Review 17:The guest house is situated in well kept gardens. The owners are very friendly, helpful and make you feel welcome. The accommodation is of a very good standard. The breakfast was good.

Review 18:nothing

Review 19:Our hosts were very warm and welcoming, treating us like old friends. The rooms were beautlfully decorated and spacious. Our evening meal which we had preordered was delicious. The full Scottish breakfast was second to none.

Review 20:Unfortunately the guest house is situated on a main road and we were kept awake the first night by a continuous stream of heave lorries carrying logs. We had obviously got used to it by our second night as the lorries weren't quite as much of a problem.

Review 21:The owners were friendly, the room beautifully appointed and the breakfast first rate. There was a comfortable lounge and very pleasant gardens to relax in.

Review 22:Bathroom was lovely but the shower was a bit feeble!

Review 23:Owners (Alan and Sharon) were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Food was excellent and our room was extremely comfortable and clean. Would love to stay again sometime.

Review 25:Friendly, welcoming Proprietors, excellent location, fantastic food and comfortable, clean rooms.

Review 26:The piped music was far too loud and not to our taste. It was played throughout the duration of our stay and took the edge off an otherwise enjoyable stay.

Review 63:Unable to get internet in the room, but I understand that it is an old home.

Review 64:Great central location, yet in the countryside.

Review 65:Wifi is available only in a small part of the common lounge area and not in the rooms. Also, check-in is available after 14.00 and when we got there (around 13.00) no-one was around and the place was locked.

Review 66:Friendly owners. Nicely decorated rooms and the breakfast was good.

Review 67:Very friendly owners and rooms very comfortable . Lovely lounge with woodburning stove for the evening. Evening meals offered were excellent after a long day outdoors.Changed our holiday arrangements and were very happy to stay a second time. Would certainly recommend Mansewood.

Review 68:Mansewood isn't a hotel - it's a real home from home! I had a wonderful stay here - comfortable room, great food and a fantastic location for exploring this beautiful part of Scotland. Nothing was too much trouble. Thanks!

Review 69:Beautiful house a credit to owners. Comfortable bed and lovely surroundings. Owners very friendly and knowlegable about local area. What more could you want.

Review 71:Everything was lovely.

Review 72:Beautifully decorated rooms. Friendly owners. Beautiful breakfast. Peaceful setting. Lovely countryside and villages closel by to visit.

Review 73:I hadn't realised that we were required to notify the hotel in advance if we wanted an evening meal. We were directed to various restaurants in the area but on return saw other guests enjoying a meal in the dining room. Our mistake perhaps but my husband was tired from driving and it would have been much better if we had had the option to stay in for a meal. There is a charge to use debit/credit cards so make sure you take cash if you can.

Review 74:A beautiful looking country house with lovely gardens. The rooms were well decorated, we had a large bathroom which was very light and the shared rooms (bar, drawing room) were also delightful.

Review 75:No evening meal was available the night we stayed and Lochearnhead waspacked due to world blackfaced sheep shearing championships. Had to goto Killin.

Review 81:We liked pretty much everything about this guest house, where we stayed for two nights. Great food, lovely rooms and very hospitable hosts. Also good value compared to some of the other places we stayed at whilst touring Scotland.

Review 82:A rather limited time for breakfast.

Review 83:Very comfortable and friendly guest house. We were made to feel very welcome and our room was well appointed. We would recommend to others and would return ourselves.

Review 84:We were a little disappointed that the owners were not cooking that particular night as one of the reasons for choosing this particular guest house was that we could obtain an evening meal. We were able to go elsewhere [which was somewhat disappointing] compared with the menu at Mansewood.

Review 85:Very comfortable. There is a nice lounge and a resident's bar. The breakfast was very good and substantial.

Review 86:Although the website warned us about the limited breakfast time (8-8.30am), & we understood the reasons for it, it did impact quitesignificantly on our ability to relax fully.
