Reviews for Lower lode inn

Review 1:Not applicable

Review 2:The view in the morning across the river as I arrived when it was dark. And, Sam, answered my queries before I had a chance to think about what I needed. The lovely real fire, and ambiance with the cat and 3 dogs made my stay feel very homely. I honestly can not recommend the Lower Lode more highly. I didn't stay for breakfast, and had said I would have breakfast but I wasn't hungry, and that wasn't a problem. I even got a knock at the door for a wake up to remind me I had to get up and go.

Review 3:As there's a pub under the accommodation it was a little noisy (even on a Thurs night) and it could be noisier on a Fri and Sat night. Nothing too much though.

Review 4:A friendly place that was warm, comfortable and homely. It's nothing flash but serves the purpose of an overnight stay and the breakfast was good.

Review 5:Nothing bad to say really

Review 6:I stayed in the small double birth apartment. It was very cosy and had everything I needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It turned out I would be leaving before breakfast was going to be served so they made me some sandwiches that I could take with me instead. Very thoughtful. Oh and the beer was very nice and well kept

Review 7:Lovely place with 100% style and exactly what you expect when looking for an Inn in England. We were taken back in time in this place in a good way and the people in the Inn was magnificent.

Review 8:Nothing

Review 9:The staff were fantastic, really friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere. Nothing seemed like too much trouble. The room was really cosy with a beautiful view

Review 10:That we could only stay one night.

Review 11:We were looking for somewhere to stay to break up the journey between Yorkshire and South Wales. As a family of 5, it can be difficult to find a room we can all fit in. I looked on Booking.com and saw this. I phoned ahead to ask about food and, although we were going to arrive a little after the kitchen was due to close, the landlady, Sam, said she'd ask him to wait. Good thing too, as it really is in the middle of nowhere. The sat nav led us to the door. There is a caravan site attached that looked really busy and it wasn't obvious where to park at first, but we found somewhere. We ordered food and went up to see our room. It was amazing (Room 5). The main bedroom had a double room and a set of bunks and the adjoining room had a double sofa bed. The rooms were lovely and warm, with a spacious shower room, lots of fluffy towels, toiletries and a full tea tray, including biscuits. The food was excellent. We slept really well, though parents might like to bag the proper double before the kids do. A powerful shower and a huge breakfast to finish the stay off perfectly.

Review 12:Nothing bad. It was all good.

Review 13:Welcoming and friendly staff in a beautiful & peaceful location. The room was fantastic. Nice and warm with ensuite. We had the family room which had a sitting area where the kids could watch TV whilst we enjoyed the bar. We had the dog with us too and the facilities for all of us were fantastic. In the morning we had a lovely cooked breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back.

Review 14:After an awful journey it was a pleasure to arrive and to feel welcomed. The food arrived quickly and the room was comfortable and cosy.I even had a packed lunch to take with me to work the next morning. The breakfast was excellent too.

Review 15:Best suited to motorists though taxis from Tewkesbury centre are reasonable (£10.50 to £13). The public transit information given by booking.com about the bus from Tewkesbury Hospital was incorrect; nobody I spoke to had ever heard of this bus.

Review 16:Sam and Steve were excellent hosts and very helpful. Breakfast was substantial, evening meals in generous portions and real ales available on draught.

Review 17:Room was a bit snall but was advertised as such.
