Reviews for Lakeland Guest House

Review 1:Only downside I got covered in dog hairs from a chair that the family pet obviously likes to lie on.

Review 2:The ability to heat a meal in my room and have it in the fabulous lounge overlooking the estuary while watching my favourite TV programme on a large screen TV. Also allowed to check in early.

Review 3:What's to dislike????

Review 4:The people - they were highly accommodating and very friendly. Wonderful sitting room with a conservatory overlooking the estuary. Ideal for accessing Pembroke Docks ferry port. Breakfast was always freshly prepared and always delicious. Ample parking.

Review 5:I was amazed at the residents TV room/ lounge which offers a wonderful view over the Haven. A really warm welcome and very pleasant staff made my stay memorable.

Review 6:The beds were a slightly uncomfortable. The room had areas that needed some attention with a duster & hoover The temperature on the shower was sometimes uncontrollable ( be very careful with young children ) .. but we were informed about that !

Review 7:The location was good & the view from our room was amazing ! The family room we had was huge & had everything we needed. The staff were always very cheerful & chatty.

Review 8:They should definitely improve the cleanliness. There was a strange hand basin, the hot water could have been dangerous for the children (they informed us about).

Review 9:There is everything you need, they are warm and helpful.

Review 10:Not particularly welcoming - functional rather than friendly. Basic facilities. En suite clean but fridge and microwave smelly - wouldn't want to use.

Review 11:Good value. Generous breakfast.

Review 12:Not a bad experience but a word of caution. St Patrick's Hill is identified in Google Maps but not in our vehicle's GPS. Make sure you know the location, intersection of St Patrick's Hill & Victoria Road.

Review 13:Landlord came and retrieved us after getting lost twice. Additionally, gave us a ride to the pub insuring the foreigners wouldn't get lost again. Beautiful view, comfortable, clean, friendly staff, good value for expense.

Review 14:The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Excellent Breakfast. Really liked the microwave and the fridge being in the room as it meant if we wanted to bring something back to the hotel to eat then we could do. Lovely view in Breakfast Room. Would definetly recommend and stay again.

Review 15:We enjoyed the odd eclectic mix of furnishings & ornaments, The decor is basic, slightly old fashioned but very clean. Our room was big enough with big shower that worked properly. There is a comfy lounge to use with a glass fronted sun room facing the docks & estuary . In the lounge is a huge dining table with plates, cutlery & a bottle opener! We found this great as we brought a couple of take aways back with us & enjoyed them with a bottle of wine, most unusual in a B & B. Laid back atmosphere with friendly staff.Tasty full English breakfast was the best.

Review 16:Limited breakfast choice if you did not want a cooked breakfast - i.e `continental`.

Review 17:Room we stayed in was first class, the guest house decor and room facilities were very good, first class breakfast

Review 18:too short a stay :0(

Review 19:Stayed here 1May for 3 nights with our two dogs. We were made to feel welcome and given a ground floor room. Perfect as we had the animals. Breakfast was very good and served with a smile. Barry is the font of all knowledge and went out of his way to help with our queries. Defo stay again.

Review 20:The hotel owner was so helpful and went out of his way to make our trip, with a 5 year old little boy and our dog most pleasurable, will recommend this hotel to my friends as its so nice to arrive and have a fridge,a microwave and plates with cutlery when you have a hungry child and provisions.

Review 21:Uht milk was gone off and as our ferry arrived at 5am a later breakfast, say 10am, would have been great.

Review 22:Room was lovely and comfortable, and facilities were great. Breakfast was very tasty and lots of it!

Review 23:Not great for mobile phone signal of wi-fi although the proprietor did lend me a booster after i mentioned the poor access to his free wi -fi so all in all no real bad points.

Review 24:Location and style of place.

Review 25:We very much enjoyed our stay at this location. The owner went out of his way to be helpful as did the others with whom we had contact. This was a highlight stop on our trip. o

Review 26:The room decor is a bit dated but it was spotless clean.

Review 27:The breakfast was fantastic and the staff were helpful and very friendly. It is located a very short distance from the port of Pembroke and was a great choice for our stay before driving back to London.

Review 28:Location, center place for many attractions nearby, excellent staff and very friendly. Very comfortable family room. Good breakfast to start your day.

Review 29:I arrived at 2am and found it very hard to park because of the number of vans and some very silly diagonal parking. There was no key left for the room but this was an oversight. The bed was very (very) soft and I hurt my back nearly going through its frame! But what can you expect for £35 a night? Still outstanding value.

Review 30:I arrived on a late ferry (delayed to 1.45am) but had made arrangements in advance. No stress.Directions to the guesthouse were spot on. The location is very close to the dock, staff are very friendly, I had a great sleep and the hearty breakfast was served early without any quibble. Clean and functional.

Review 31:the amount of dog poo around if its the visitors dogs there should be a notice up telling them to clean up after them if not the guest house staff should clear up daily

Review 32:the location and the very interesting rooms

Review 33:Located on the hill with impressive views. Room with basic furniture but with fridge, micro-wave and large bath room. Nice lounge and breakfast room. Extensive and tasty breakfast. Very friendly owners. Highly recommendable!

Review 34:After finding guest house, lovely views, however beds were on wheels and moved as you slept. No mattress protector or pillow protectors (yuk), also sheets boobly and thread bare and well worn. Bathroom dirty, black long hairs on floor, extractor fan so clogged with dust was probably ineffective. Fridge cracked and light not working and buzzed most of night. Then to cap it all the shower didn't work, not a drip, such a shame as the place needs a good clean, a bit of money spending on updating the roons (no bodged by putting wood behind loo and cloth down sink joint) and facilities and place would be lovely. Big family home otherwise

Review 35:Breakfast was lovely and mrs calvert was lovely and friendly, barry lake helpful

Review 36:The single room I stayed in hadn't been used in a while, it would have been good if the window had been opened to get some fresh air into the room.

Review 37:The staff were lovely, the large lounge for guests is fabulous (and the view over the bay is stunning) and breakfast was wonderful. My room had the usual tea-making facilities, and also a fridge, crockery & microwave (very welcome & useful after a tiring 7-hour-plus drive)

Review 38:The only thing was the bed, I really think they could do with a new mattress and a coat hanger behind the door

Review 39:Fantastic breakfast really nice with good options and nicely served

Review 40:That our stay wasn't longer

Review 41:Standards were exceptionally high, all staff were friendly and helpful, cleanliness and comfort was top of the Hotels priorities. Breakfast was so good. All in all, we couldn't fault anything, it was a perfect stay and the best we have experienced.

Review 42:in a contrary to what's described, our 3-bedded room was located in a basement, with a small window allowing a view on an edge... far from a stunning view! We had to go outside to reach the common living room and the dining room. The room and the bathroom were very dusty, drawers were containing dust and several kinds of stuff, beds were old and very unconfortable, Wi-Fi didn't work properly. There might be nicer rooms in this guest house, but ours was the ugliest we've had for many years.

Review 43:nice breakfast quality

Review 44:Very well appointed establishment. The owners/staff very welcoming. Five star rating for breakfast. Elevated position provides great views across the docks/valley. As a family we would certainly stay there again if in the locality.

Review 45:Nothing.

Review 46:Very obliging host we had to drop a car at Fishguard 40 miles away he arranged his grandson to help us for a small additional fee. Saved our bacon.

Review 47:Rooms do not have hair dryers which would be great addition.

Review 48:Relaxed environment, guest lounge and views are good. Free wifi available. Rooms are comfortable and clean.

Review 49:Bed was a little too hard for our liking and the tea and coffee in the room hadn't been replaced ready for the next morning, but all in all quite a pleasant place to stay.......

Review 50:The staff were very friendly, the room we had was clean and tidy, the breakfast was lovely and the views across the estuary are magnificent, all in all a nice place to base yourself for the surrounding area......

Review 51:It wasn't very clean , bathroom, windows and chair dirty , beds uncomfortable , bedding old and chipped glass jugs used at breakfast .
