Reviews for Sitia Bay
Review 1:It was wonderful accommodation . Everything about it location, quality of apartment, great , helpful owners and staff. We wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you so much! It was a pleasure and a treat to be in such a beautiful place.
Review 2:Wifi signal in the room is very low, but no problem in the lobby
Review 3:Beds are perfect, ask for special pillow if you have neck problems. Kitchen is well equiped, staff is very helpful with a lot of tips, shower is great. Everything works well,
Review 4:Bad Wi-Fi signal. Beds are too hard.
Review 5:The staff was very friendly and helpfull, I´ve never seen a room including kitchen cleaner than here in any hotel! Nice pool and great service on the beach! There are not too many tourists in Sitia and almost only greek people.
Review 6:Everything. Hotel manager was extremely helpfull, he was a great tourist information guide for us. All staff very pleasant. Very clean and quiet. Excellent location to explore East side of Cretes.
Review 7:My husband and I weren't sure what to expect when we chose this hotel (and part of Crete) as the second stop of our two-week honeymoon. I'm so glad we followed our gut and went for it. We fell in love with Sitia Bay, and this hotel played a major role. The pace, quietness and friendliness of the staff made this visit complete serenity. We slept in with virtually no noise or pesky housekeeping, and started the day by asking Eric where to eat! The hotel's proximity to the beach is fabulous. Since the pool was typically empty, we started the afternoon hanging out there often as the only guests in the area (amazing!) and transitioned to the beach mid-afternoon (double amazing). The staff was INCREDIBLE. Always offering water and keeping the wine flowing and making sure my husband had his "Fix" beer :) We so valued Eric's recommendations and help as we tried to find our way to Vai Beach... we made it, and highly recommend it! And what night is complete without crisp, cheap, delicious wine on the hotel rooftop? We couldn't believe more people weren't up there... a breathtaking sunset that offered more privacy than Santorini! In closing: Sitia Bay (and this property) is underrated. We can't believe more people don't talk about visiting Crete in the States. It is truly a gem. We will be back, someday :)
Review 8:A very clean and comfortable hotel. The room was a good size, the kitchen was well equipped and very clean. The pool area is what you would expect in a much larger hotel - always clean and safe. The Sitia Bay provided free beach towels that were very welcome and useful. The air conditioning worked well and the bed very comfortable and of course the view is beautiful. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the daily sweets are a very nice touch!
Review 9:Perfect location for the beach and walking into Sitia town. Lovely views over town and harbour from the balcony. An idea base to visit the area and the staff were very helpful at suggesting places to visit and providing maps. Very well appointed kitchenette.
Review 10:The only slight negative was poor wi fi connection, but this had no impact on our stay
Review 11:The facilities were excellent. Could find no fault with cleanliness it was impeccable. Attention to detail was second to none through out the whole hotel. All fixtures and fittings looked brand new. Everything you need for a self catering stay. Owners and staff were friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble. Made our stay memorable and will definitely will be staying again
Review 12:Nothing other than pergola on the beachside of the Hotel blocks some of the biews from level 1.
Review 13:Can't fault the hotels service and facilities other than wifi having a few issues they are currently addressing. Freshly baked goodies in our room daily was a real treat. Kids loved the pool and umbrella waterfall.
Review 14:Breakfast was stated as being available, but was only the café downstairs, which really didn't serve breakfast
Review 15:The guy on reception was one of the most helpful people I've come across in a hotel. He went out of his way to find out what we were interested in and then went out of his way to help us with recommendations
Review 16:The only small negative was that the WIFI signal was low at times and dropped out completely for an afternoon.
Review 17:The apartment was very comfortable and very well equipped. It was obvious that a lot of thought had gone into making good provision for guests. This was evidenced in a number of small ways, for example the provision of a clothes drier complete with a tub of pegs for every apartment, provision of toaster, kettle, coffee filter machine, etc. without exception the staff members were considerate and obliging. It was clear that they enjoyed working at the Sitia Bay.
Review 18:Nothing.
Review 19:The apartment was ideally situated with a beautiful view, quiet but close to all amenities. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and we were given home-made pastries/savouries each day. We were extremely pleased with our choice of accommodation.
Review 20:There was nothing we didn't like
Review 21:Sitia Bay is a wonderful place for a holiday. It is very well run by a family who do a superb job. They will help you with all of your holiday needs--laundry, car rental, recommendations for places to eat, local wines to try. You can swim in their beautiful salt water pool or walk across the street to the sea. It is an easy walk into town to explore shops and restaurants. All aspects of the hotel are immaculate.
Review 22:The wifi signal was a little weak, that's all.
Review 23:Everything was spotless. The kitchenette was better than average and the bed comfortable. Nice little pool and rooftop terrace. And the staff - I can't remember where or when I last encountered staff this friendly and attentive! They did everything to please and their taverna recommendations and travel tips were all spot-on.
Review 24:view from 1st floor balcony obscured by wooden structure across front of hotel. Double beds were actually 2 single beds - not comfortable if you fall between the crack!!!
Review 25:Suite facilities :; kitchen/tv/air con were all of really high quality - great especially to have separate sir con unit in the bedroom. Spacious Balcony - right on the beach. Good location to travel to around east of island.
Review 26:WI-Fi reception was patchy in the apartment
Review 27:Excellent accommodation, facilities very good and staff friendly and helpful. Loved the swimming pool and the beach is nice too. Can have food and drinks brought to you at the beach or by the pool which was nice.
Review 28:The attention to detail with staff who could not do enough to help. The rooms were spotless & every day we were given fresh baked cakes made by the owner of the hotel for our breakfast
Review 29:The beds were a bit too hard and the wifi connection was intermittent. Breakfast was not provided and the food available was limited. Although there were plenty of Tavernss nearby.
Review 30:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and plenty of storage. The hot was on an excellent location.
Review 31:The hotel is 100m from the center of Sitia with silent rooms having a nice seaview. The room was clean and the pool was relaxing. The staff was really friendly, in particular Eric with his useful tips! A lot of excellent beaches near Sitia and the town is nice.
Review 32:Frying pans (teflon) were somewhat "over used"...
Review 33:Sometimes you find a pearl, and Sitia Bay is exactly that. This family driven hotel has pretty much everything you need for a great experience: - Fresh, clean, big rooms - A good kitchenette - Great staff with excellent service - Simple but nice and clean pool - Close to the beach - Located in a truly great place (Sitia) Every day there was some sort of cake/cookie in the room. And I even got a surprise birthday cake (best apple cake I've EVER had in my life)! I would not hesitate recommending Sitia Bay to anyone. Superb experience!
Review 34:Perhaps a little over priced.
Review 35:Breakfast incl home made bread, very friendly helpful staff, nice outdoor pool. The studio appartment was very well equipped. Location next to sea, shops and beach and handy for port.
Review 36:Leaving at the end of our stay here!
Review 37:Fantastic welcome and hospitality from the hotel staff, great view of Sitia Bay, lovely apartment and location close to the beach just a short walk from Sitia harbour and tavernas. Great location for days out in and around this part of Crete.
Review 38:Breakfast is ok but don`t expect anything fancy. (though the dark bread was great) Pool is right in the yard and surrounded by the apartments, so there`s not really privacy. On the other hand people don`t bother you since the hotel is not too big.
Review 39:It`s a nice hotel with very clean and well equipped rooms. The owners or managers (younger people) were very friendly, helpful and really fluent in English. The pool is really nice (they don`t use chloride which is a big plus). Nice terrace with a really good 360 view. Located right next to the port and restaurant area of Sitia. Partially seems to be constructed for elderly people since there are a lot of expedients. But you don`t need to use them if you don`t have to, so that`s neither a plus nor a downpoint. Would come again. Nice place.
Review 40:The pool area with jacuzzi was great and location ideal just a short stroll to tavernas and shops
Review 41:The bed was a little hard for my back.
Review 42:The staff, the cleanness
Review 43:Beds uncomfterble
Review 44:Location very good Great pool Great staff and service Quiet. Good facilities in the kitchen Nice treats every day
Review 45:The pool and rooms
Review 46:Bed very hard and uncomfortable
Review 47:Hotel was very well located with free private parking & near beach
Review 48:WiFi connection failed continuously. We stayed on the 2nd floor. Very small shower.
Review 49:Friendly staff Well maintained Spotless clean
Review 50:Great position Kind staff that made us feel like home Very clean place Good organization of the beach in front of the hotel
Review 51:Sitia isn't very nice relative to surroundings
Review 52:Nothing
Review 53:A lovely, clean, friendly hotel perfectly positioned by a super bay next to a low-key and delightful town
Review 54:Quiet, secluded. Excellent pool and facilities. Lovely shaded coffee shop. Immaculate toilets.

Review 61:The apparments are fantastic, we really enjoyed our stay here made world class by eric in reception's suggestions on where to go/eat and where to avoid!
Review 62:The burden to order- and pay for a coffee in order to have free use of the deck chairs in the beach.
Review 63:The room-view, cleanliness, comfortable beds, many facilities and everything was well organized.
Review 64:Not much.

Review 66:the owners were great, lovely people hotel is very modern and in a top position opposite beach, short walk to restaurants / bars,I wish we stayed longer to relax before flying from Sitia to Rhodes ,has a nice pool and bar area.
Review 67:Staff is great and will always go the extra mile (thanks Eric!). Location is great as a base to visit the area; and it allows walking distance to the main sea front cafes and restaurants. Very quiet location and nice apartments allow a very relaxing time; highly recommended!
Review 68:Our stay was too short!
Review 69:Lovely rooms. Great pool. Fantastic view. Lovely beach and town nearby. Great service. Wonderful family running the place, very attentive without being intrusive. very helpful staff too. Simply a great place to stay. Loved it there.
Review 70:ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
Review 71:We stayed at the hotel for 5 days in August in an apartment with a terrace overlooking the sea. The apartment was very comfortable and cosy, spotlessly clean.(cleaned every day). Towels changed daily, too.The kitchen is very well equipped (all needed utensils, a fridge, an electric kettle and a cooker with the oven). There is also a lift which took us right to the swimming pool with free deckchairs to use (we were provided with beachtowels, too). Next to the swimming pool there is a bar and an exit to the beach which is just across the road with not much traffic. There is also a roof terrace on the third floor with a beutiful view over the sea and the town. The whole hotel if full of beautiful plants . You can also feel the smell of herbs and flowers everywhere. The hotel is family run by a Polish woman - Renata with the help of her two sons.and her Greek friend. Available 24 hours a day, always ready to help you with a lot of advice and remarks about the town, tavernas, sorrundings, places to visit, traditions, food (extremely useful ).Every day we were treated with some delicious pastries homemade by Renata. We could feel there like at home.We will never forget their lavish hospitality and assistance. We are coming back next year. DZIĘKUJEMY I DO ZOBACZENIA !!!!
Review 72:Very friendly personal family run apts with fresh baked goods and a stocked fridge homemade jams . Extremely clean and well run with a lot of attn to detail.
Review 73:The owners were very friendly and hospitable. Eric would give us plenty of information about places to visit in the area. With his help we found some of the greatest beaches and nicest taverns. We also liked the apartment, the location on the beach, the swimming pool and everyday homemade desserts. Overall the hotel is very high quality and has warm atmosphere.
Review 74:Although it was a studio/apt, the kitchen was in a separate room which made it feel more like a hotel. The kitchen was stocked with every utensil you could need. The rooms were cleaned to perfection every day and a treat was left (cookie, cake etc). Eric, the hotel manager had perfect English and was very helpful when suggesting places to eat or to travel to.
Review 75:Nothing really, we have been there twice over two years and the very high standard of this hotel has been consistent over both of our visits
Review 76:The hotel was right on the beach. The hotels facilities were first class and in excellent condition. Everything was superclean with high quality fittings. The owners were very accomodating and friendly. Every morning the owner would leave a small homecooked desert in our suite which was delicious
Review 77:Having to leave and come home again!
Review 78:The staff were friendly and very efficient, the location on the beach is fantastic and everything is so clean and well maintained. Guests respond by respecting everyone else's right to a peaceful holiday and looking after the hotel too.
Review 79:Bed was a bit hard for our taste
Review 80:Wonderful family run apartment hotel. Eric and his staff went out of their way to be helpful with accurate information. Lovely pool complex and really nice beach right outside
Review 81:An option was proposed that we took, that included breakfast(7€/pp/day). In fact, it was a large supply of food (very goodand very fresh, indeed) for a self-service continental breakfast... Wewere supposed to use the very complete kitchen equipment. We had indeedtwo good breakfasts, on our terrace in front of the seashore...but wekeep thinking all the details of this particular offer should bedetailed on the Web site. And although we would frankly recommend thestay, we suggest you consider an other option for your breakfast.
Review 82:Management and personnel were very friendly and gave us clues on what tovisit (and what to avoid) in this region. Comfort is excellent, wellequipped studio indeed. But ... (see other comment)PS tongue-in-cheek : we first missed the place and stopped at the hotel nearby (Sitia Beach) .the management of this other hotel gave us additional road details -600 meters - (in our native language French, they told us our choice of Sitia Bay "was a good choice too" and they wished us a nice stay at their neighbour's place. Cretan hospitality is definitely not a myth !
Review 83:Not one thing we didn't like.
Review 84:Everything. Peaceful, relaxing, fly screens on the balcony doors meant we could leave them open at night and fall asleep listening to the waves gently breaking on the sandy shore.
Review 85:The apartments were excellent as were the owners they gave good advice on how to find out of the way places. The location was excellent both for the beach and the local restaurants, shops etc. It was so good we stayed an addition night.
Review 86:Can't think of anything!
Review 87:Excellent, quiet location opposite a nice beach and only a few minutes walk from the promenade and tavernas. Every member of the hotel staff was friendly and helpful and a source of very useful information. Our room was spacious and well designed and the sea view balcony private and comfortable. We loved the new bar and the roof terrace. The salt water pool was a pleasure to swim in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and thought the hotel was excellent value for money. We will definitely return.
Review 88:Extremely comfortable accomodation finished to a high standard i.e. quality air con in both apartment rooms, fine double glazing and wood features with well equiped kitchen. Situated ideally between the beach and pool. Beach towels provided. Eric, the on site manager, gave us reliable and accurate recommendations for eating traditional Greek food and which restaurants to avoid.
Review 89:Sitia Bay is an apartment hotel which has good quality fixtures and fittings, and focuses on maintaining a clean and friendly environment for guests. The rooms were cleaned properly every day and clean line supplied. The kitchen actually had pots pans and crockery (which many apartments boasting kitchens do not have). The manager was not push and intrusive but did offer great advice on where to go and what to see when we requested information. We were sad to leave!!
Review 90:Everything, especially the nice personal contact and the situation close to the town centre.
Review 91:It is a family business and Eric on reception was both charming and helpful.Incredibly well equipped kitchen even providing kitchen roll.
Review 92:The owner was so helpful and nice!!!!
Review 93:Very friendly & helpful owners.Lovely roof garden.Everywhere was spotlessly clean.
Review 94:Relaxing spot Sieta and apartments first class - Eric very helpfull for local info.
