Reviews for Llanion Lodge
Review 1:The hotel is perfectly placed on the main road 500 yards from the ferry terminal. Facilities are very basic, however it suits those using the ferry who want a budget hotel.
Review 2:The tv didn't work, free wifi code didn't work, share toilet with other guests.
Review 3:The room was very spacious, had fridge, and beds were very comfy.
Review 4:Breakfast room was a bit small
Review 5:Check in was excellent as we arrived in the early hours. As we had pets we were given a large self catering room. Staff were friendly.
Review 6:Didn't really like those who didn't stay at the hotel came in to have their breakfast especially the men who came with the larger cans first thing in the morning
Review 7:nearness to ferry
Review 8:we were not told on arrival that breakfast finished at 9:30am even though we arrived at the breakfast room at 9:40 so missed out on a full English. however the staff accommodated us with eggs on toast which redeemed them.
Review 9:we enjoyed a very late check in after travelling on the night ferry from Ireland. the room was spacious and clean, the bed was very comfortable
Review 10:Bed uncomfortable and very squeaky. Bed not large enough for a couple. Could see the mattress through the sheet so much so that we slept on top of the duvet with our clothes on and used our spare jackets as covers. Room was noisy facing a main road and you could hear people coming and going from their rooms. The bathroom wasn't a high standard and we didn't want to use the shower. Bathroom door didn't close naturally and was always ajar. The room did have good WiFi and a fridge and microwave. But had no cutlery or plates. Didn't use them. The room also had a tv with a good selection of channels which was the only way to drown out the noise from within and outside the lodge. On arrival we were greeted by a man who basically gave out for arriving before the guessed time we have. We arrived at 2 and guessed we would be there for 5. The curtains were filthy and not black out curtains.
Review 11:Free WiFi was good
Review 12:Staff member running the accommodation was rude. Chased guests out of the building and was extremely unwelcoming to me and my friends for a birthday trip.
Review 13:Breakfast was great!
Review 14:There were no "shelves" in the shower to put your soap in. There were no hooks in the bathroom to hang your towels.
Review 15:I liked the beds and the breakfast and the closeness to town.
Review 16:This is only a small point but I do feel I should mention it. TheManager smoked and you could smell it very strongly on him and hiscloths... Enough for me to hold your breath near him on check in or atbreakfast when he was serving but I am a none smoker. However, sayingthat he was a nice guy.
Review 17:Great hotel for walkers.. Our room had a fridge, microwave, plenty oftea and coffee and a large bathroom. We also had a little anti room, ideal for smelly boots. Clean and plenty of hot water. My partner and Ifelt we had stuck lucky with this hotel. Graet all round hotel. Keep upthe good work.
Review 18:As had to leave at 1:30am to catch the ferry to Ireland, I feel a bed-only price should be offered. A cold breakfast pack was given to us, but it didn't compare with the hot breakfast included which we couldn't enjoy.
Review 19:The host suggested a nearby Two-For-One restaurant which was excellent and great value.
Review 20:Bit shabby. Lack of tables meant we had to miss breakfast. Stayed with my jack russel, put on the bottom floor by reception/dining room, this caused the dog to be disturbed all morning when people were having breakfast. I don't think the room was appropriate.
Review 21:value for money, cheap night away on bank holiday.
Review 22:Bathroom needs abit of a make over. But saying that it was nice and big..Need cutlery in the room.
Review 23:Very welcoming. Tony and his wife are very pleasant. Room was nice. Breakfast was nice and hot. Good portions.
Review 24:Not all rooms are en suite - you need to specify.
Review 25:The owners were very friendly and helpful. The room & en suite were large and we had a good choice of food for breakfast.
Review 26:Room provided in no way reflected picture of room shown on Booking.com. Old large "car mat" style mats on Laminate floor. Areas needed repair in room. Dark, unattractive stairways. Shared bathroom with old dirty lino flooring. House keeping just once to change towels - no cleaning of room or bathroom noticed. Old fridge, microwave & TV. No crockery or cutlery provided? Plastic tables, cloths, and chairs in breakfast room, though it was clean and tidy. Locked at night so can't use the vending machine. Better places to stay locally for less money. Would not generally recommend for more than 1 night
Review 27:Staff were friendly Excellent breakfast Close to local shop, pub across the street and takeaway.
Review 28:Cant say anything bad about it.
Review 29:You were left alone, some places are over powering trying to help.its right across the road from a pub,a tescos and an absolutely lovely indian. Really enjoyed our stay there.
Review 30:TV quality could be improved.
Review 31:I arrived very late due to the bad weather but they still were happy to check me in. Would not take an additional payment although I offered. Good size room and large adjoining bathroom. Very comfortable bed. They made me a full breakfast although I was leaving early. Very hospitable.
Review 32:Would like to have received more assistance from the owners in regards to bus schedules and taxis. We were handed a bus schedule but no other help. We eventually figured it out on our own with the help of some gracious bus drivers. Would like to have been able to access the cold pop in the office in the evenings, but this was locked.
Review 33:Lianion Lodge became available after we had reserved another lodging further away. We jumped at this, and for the most part, were satisfied. The room was clean and spacious, a rarity in the UK. Served a good breakfast.
Review 34:we did not like being woken out of our sleep by other guests ,who had been to a wedding, slaming doors shouting and fighting out side our window at midnight.
Review 35:the room was clean and big instant hot water fridge and tv,breakfast was full english great.
Review 36:the cleaning left a lot to be desired, the shared bathroom was not cleaned daily, nor was the room, and with no bed side table or lamp it was difficult getting from the door to the bed after turning the light off, and the hall and stairways dark dingy and dirty, and when I complained I was told sorry but there is only two of us to do it all, and we can only do so much. As its advertises and charges as a hotel and it should have hotel standards, and adequate staff, but to be honest it was more like a low grade hostel, next time I will use the Travel lodge down the road.
Review 37:The breakfast was ok, cooked well, although the portions were not consistent, one day you would get 2 pieces of bacon and the next only one and the same with quartered (not halved) pieces of tomato, and sometimes there would be beans and sometimes not, they need to have a set standard and not leave it to the cook to decide.
Review 38:The bedroom was nothing like the pictures on booking.com website. The room felt cold and damp and it was later found that 'fan-light' window had been left open. The bed mattress felt warn-out and the sheet was very thin. The red curtains were so old that the edges were faded almost white. Laminate floor had only a doormat type rug. The lock on the bedroom door had been broken and partly removed. The string of the pull-switch in the bathroom was heavily soiled and there was large cobwebs in the corner above the door. Thankfully only 1 night stay!!
Review 39:Not very much but the breakfast was all right.
Review 40:The managers of the lodge were superb. They were extremely hospitable and their attention to detail was commendable. No request was too great and they made a fuss of the children too which made our stay.
Review 41:Lodge managed by the owners. Nice and modern room. Very good breakfast. You can arrive at any time (we did in the last ferry from Ireland at 1.00 am) Do not get a bad idea from the outside of the building, inside is completely different.
Review 42:We arrived at 1am and it was no trouble to the gentleman who took our details and took us to our room. Room was lovely and clean and spacious and we had a very peaceful nights sleep. The breakfast in the morning was lovely and the gentleman was very nice and very quick with breakfast.
Review 43:You provided a fridge and microwave which we appreciated but no crockery or cutlery... This needs to be specified to bring your own or provided in the room alongside the equipment.
Review 44:Generous room size Wonderful hosts Fantastic breakfast
Review 45:The decoration gives an impression of work in progress. Although my bed was comfortable and the linen nice, there was nowhere to relax - an easy chair would have been nice
Review 46:A really nice breakfast - with a good jug of orange, a good jug of milk, selection of cereals and very nice cooking. There's a pub across the road which does meals, and a really nice Indian along the road.
Review 47:My only minor niggle was sound insulation as we were ground floor and could here a lot from upstairs but I can live with that for the price,
Review 48:Staff very accommodating,a fridge in the room, lovely veggie breakfast and decent coffee, big room,
Review 49:Silvia and tony were fantasic hosts nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was wonderful, the rooms are fantastic very big clean, the shower was really great. Parking the car they had plenty of room. We will definitely go back again for our holidays as the hotel is in a fantastic position for Pembrokeshire we stayed 8 nights and we still didn't see it all. I would like to say thank you again to Sylvia and tony for a fantastic time you two made our holiday wonderful.xxx
Review 50:The TV was an older model and we had to ask for help turning it on. It also didn't have very many channels and was a bit grainy picture wise.
Review 51:We had a big room with fridge, microwave and good comfortable beds. Breakfast was excellent. There were several take away choices in the area or you could eat there. I recommend it highly.
