Reviews for Y Garth Luxury Bed and Breakfast
Review 1:Everything seemed too much bother from an extra hour checkout time, to a request for white toast. We seemed to be an intrusion not guests.
Review 2:Comfortable room
Review 3:The only small issue we had was the the sea-view from Strumble Point bedroom was perhaps a little overstated BUT, the mountain views were great from all rooms.
Review 4:Nestling in the rolling hills of Dinas Cross, just off the beaten track, and a short walk from the sea, Y Garth is a little gem. The proprietor, Joyce Evans, is a personable person whose attention to detail is clear from the deep quality of the establishment; the decoration of the bedrooms and the rooms is exquisite; the shower excellent; and the amenities are second to none offering In Room accessories (mini fridge, coffee maker, great biscuits, corkscrew, TV), guest rest and dining area, and free wifi; the breakfast choice is extensive and the "English Breakfast" and Omlette are particularly good. Oh, and breathtaking and restorative peace and quiet for us Windsorians was blissful. Definitely worth a stay.
Review 5:Nothing not to like
Review 6:Joyce was the perfect host. We have stayed in many 5 star hotels and Y Garth surpasses some of them .we will be back next year. Thank you Joyce
Review 7:There was nothing we didn't like about our stay here
Review 8:It was all very nice and the view from our window was stunning. Good location for Snowdonia too.
Review 9:Joyce is a lovely hostess. The room was comfortable with lots of extra touches, like bars of chocolate on arrival. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choice to suit all tastes. The accommodation is central to Newport and many beautiful beaches - we particularly liked Poppit Sands.
Review 10:Location is a little isolated with taxis expensive if you want to go out for the evening without a car although the b&b owner does offer a taxi service which is good value
Review 11:Great comfy and friendly place to stay
Review 12:A slightly better map would have helped us to find the house on the edge of Dinas Cross. Any arriving at night might find it harder
Review 13:The welcome, general atmosphere and high standard in every respect. Quite the best B and B we have ever enjoyed staying in and we are seasoned travellers.
Review 14:Joyce was very friendly as soon as we arrived and her breakfasts were really tasty! The room had everything we needed to make our stay very comfortable. We would definitely recommend others to stay and we'd love to go back ourselves again.
Review 15:The pillows were feather and a bit flat. I would prefer a more modern fibre pillow. But that's just a minor issue.
Review 16:How clean it was. The room's style was very art deco which was beautiful.
Review 17:The price is a bit expensive excluding service quality.
Review 18:All the facilities are quite nice and the room is big. The breakfast is awesome. The householder is a very kind and thoughtful person. Highly recommended!
Review 19:-Was the most expensive Inn we stayed at, but I was did earn the 'Luxury' in the label, so I would say it was worth it. -A curious point: multiple encounters with insects. The post at the outer gate was infested with ants. There were 3 moths in the room throughout the night and one in the bathroom and a spider in the room and bathroom. My partner is arachnophobia, so this was a problem. -All the dining places nearby close by 9pm, so be warned. We desperately wanted to eat lobster on our trip yet the only place nearby was fully booked.
Review 20:-Room had a view of a beautiful mountain peak nearby. Beautiful countryside Inn in a small village -Bang in the centre of Newport and Fishguard -Beautifully furnished -The best breakfast of all the Inns we stayed at. The sausage was the best I have ever had -The hostess was lovely. She was helpful and so kind. She let us eat out takeaway food in the dining area and then cleaned up afterwards (don't worry, we offered to wash up, but she would have none of it :) ). She was very approachable. -Another external Bathroom! But this one was lovely. Great shower with supplied shampoo, conditioner and body wash. A rarity. -Loved the black/red theme decorations in the bathroom. Stylish!
Review 21:The bathroom could have been cleaner (cobwebs etc.); mattress for our taste much too soft; 'Monsoon Shower' suitable only for persons up to 175 cm (5 foot 9 inch)
Review 22:Lovingly furnished house and room; quiet residential area, easy parking; good breakfast menu with local products; very nice, helpful hostess; separate bathroom for single use large and modern, bathrobes; refrigerator with complimentary milk and water; charming pub 'Ship Aground' nearby (some 12 minutes walk)
Review 23:Not being given the ensuite room when that was what we had booked. Instead we were put into a small room with a separate private bathroom. Also the full English breakfast was very oily and greasy.
Review 24:Comfortable bed in a quiet location away from busy traffic. The bathroom was very modern and pleasant.
Review 25:Beautiful setting, amazing stay, loved it!
Review 26:Check in not til after 4. Bit out of the way

Review 42:Nice room with ensuite (beware: there is a room without ensuite). Very good breakfast. Parking next to the B&B not a problem
Review 43:Joyce is a great host. I have no complaints about anything. What a location!
Review 44:Attention to details: freshly ground coffee in the room, fresh milk in the fridge, gluten free bread as requested. Excellent cooked breakfast and very friendly owner
Review 45:Nothing about the B&B. Dinas Cross would be great if it had a restaurant. Although the Ship Aground was a delightful pub - if a little in the 50's and that made it 'charming'.
Review 46:Great Welcome, very comfortable room. Loved the little extra's like a cream tea on arrival and chocolate cup cakes in the room. Fridge to have fresh milk for tea/coffee and a great power shower. Breakfast was fabulous. Great choice from full breakfast (with real bacon!) to lighter options. Lovely buffet of fresh fruit, yoghurts, muesli etc. Joyce is a lovely host and helped us with tips about walks etc. Great relaxing time
Review 47:The house was a little bit hard to find but fortunately I used Google Street View in advance so I knew where to go.
Review 48:The attention to detail and cleanliness could not be faulted. We had eggs benedict for breakfast that was delicious.
Review 49:We liked everything. Seriously.
Review 50:It's a remarkable place - everything is done with so much care and great attention to detail. Someone has gone to a lot of trouble to think about what makes a holiday enjoyable. One of the best places that we've ever stayed at. The owner too is remarkably friendly and helpful.
