Reviews for La Clé des Champs

Review 1:Nothing!

Review 2:The proprietors are very friendly and helpful. The lovely location with beautiful views from the terrace of our room and from the pool area. The food was excellent. A very relaxing place to stay.

Review 3:Everything, this hotel was absolutely fab, there was nothing else you could want from a boutique hotel and the hosts were great. We will return Thankyou

Review 4:Location is close to a relatively busy road. Staff were a bit tight and service did not correspond with the price. Facilities were not readily available (hammam needed half an hour notice to operate, jacuzzy was covered, wifi did not work). Overpriced.

Review 5:Breakfast was great: varied and excellent quality.

Review 6:This property has a great view, a very nice pool and jacuzzi, nice modern clean rooms, and is close to Roussillon and Gordes. It's on a nice, quiet property and the owners (Rene and his wife) are very nice and helpful.

Review 7:Excellent location, comfortable bed and room and a warm welcome. Spotless pool and terrace set in lovely gardens with a perfect view - wonderful setting for alfresco breakfast and dinner.

Review 8:I found the meals to be rather expensive. I stay in a great many hotels/B & B with Booking.Com and found breakfast at 16 euros quite steep. Only one croissant per person, all portions of both cheese and cold ham cut to extremely small portions. Also I ate one evening meal there and at 32 euros I also felt this was rather steep. Very small starter with lots of lettuce, meat was fine, but again vegetables chopped into minute portions when cooked. Same with fruit salad for dessert. I fell the portion control and minimum expense was too cautious. I would not eat more than one evening meal there due to this.

Review 9:Loved the location.

Review 10:Of the 5 hotels we stayed in on our 14 night trip this had to be the best by far . We were well looked after by Armelle and Rene on our 3 night stay and they were so friendly and helpful . The rooms are lovely and kept very clean and have beautiful views as does the pool area . One of our party of 4 was vegetarian which is not an easy thing to be in the South of France but Armelle was happy to provide good vegetarian meals . In fact all the food was excellent and Rene delivered everything with a smile . They really do make you feel at home and I would like to be there right now , It's a truly magical place !

Review 11:Since there is no actual street address given, this lovely hotel can be difficult to find the first time. Though our GPS couldn't help us locate it, please note that there is excellent signage from both Roussillon and Gordes.

Review 12:We loved the view from the beautiful pool, the cozy common areas, the great location convenient to taking meals in both Roussillon and Gordes, and the wonderful natural surroundings. The light was so beautiful in the early mornings and late evenings, especially when enjoyed from the private terrace. We can't wait to return!

Review 13:Nothing

Review 14:Good size room with own terrace and not overlooked. Slept really well. Swimming pool area was lovely. The hosts were very friendly and very helpful. Will definitely stay again

Review 15:Swimming pool could be warmer - too cold to use in Sept.

Review 16:Great owners. Helpful and friendly. Loved the location. Close to many get sights, yet a quiet, peaceful setting.

Review 17:Hard to find. We must have made six calls to be guided to the B&B. we'll signed once you got there but it is not right off the main highway. Best to find Gordes first then look for road D2. Then it is just 6ks and you are there. Tom Tom nav system could not find it.

Review 18:Setting was just what you expect in a French country house. Hosts were welcoming and helpful in planning our days. Breakfast was traditional, beautifully presented, and served. By the lovely pool. It's beautiful there.

Review 19:The stay and meals were expensive, but probably to be expected.

Review 20:Beautiful location between Roussillon and Gordes. Incredibly friendly owners, who happily helped us navigate Provence. Nicely furnished room. The pool was very clean and a comfortable place to spend a few hours. Also recommend the homemade dinner.

Review 21:Lovely location and wonderfully friendly owners. Very welcoming with good facilities. Fantastic food.

Review 22:We loved the hospitality and the attention to details. Great service, superb food and nice atmosphere .

Review 23:Slight road noise.

Review 24:Lovely pool with wonderful views. High ceiling in bedrooms, well appointed and amazing views.

Review 25:Smashing breakfast

Review 26:Owners/hosts Armelle and Renee were amazing. The dinners were fantastic, fresh food from nearby markets every day and great local, organic wines.

Review 27:Everything was amazing. The pool and grounds were gorgeous, the room was absolutely wonderful and the staff could not have been nicer.

Review 28:Our room was spacious and comfortable. The pool area is lovely. Beautiful view. Very nice innkeepers.

Review 29:Excellent relaxing stay.

Review 30:nothing

Review 31:What a sensational location with a warm welcome of friendly host. Delicious meals in the evening. great swimming pool.

Review 32:No

Review 33:the place is very good! The peoples are very nice!

Review 34:There was a very bad smell when the air conditioner (climatization) would turn on, which we needed to use on a warm night. Needs to be attended to.

Review 35:First off the host and setting is lovely. The facilities are terrific save for a problem with the climatization in the Valerian room. Breakfast by the pool was super with superb views of the lavender field and the city of Roussillon in the distance.

Review 36:We had a wonderful stay at the hotel - our room was lovely and the surroundings are beautiful, especially the jacuzzi in the garden. Our host gave us a lot of useful advice for visits in the area and elsewhere in Provence.

Review 37:It was beautifully simple yet very comfortable. The views were superb, the welcome excellent, advice about restaurants perfect. Totally unpretentious.

Review 38:We would have liked to have tea/coffee facilities in our room, and we thought the wine prices (€34 for a bottle of rosé a bit steep). The steam room/hammam and jacuzzi needed to be hotter but it was nice o have these facilities after a day of hiking.

Review 39:Gilles, the host and owner made us feel very welcome and could not have been more helpful and kind. He offered to store our rather huge quantity of luggage which was very helpful. his recommendations for local walks were also excellent. Gilles' wife, Monique prepared wonderful, uncomplicated food which was a refreshing change to the rather over-rated 5* hotel food. All in all we loved the place.

Review 40:Beautiful surroundings and very nice hotel. Gilles and Monique were excellent hosts and very helpful when we asked what we should see in the area. We had a great visit and felt very welcome and relaxed! Johan & Lisa from Sweden.

Review 41:Everything was OK . Pool, garden , breakfast on the terrace with a view on Roussillon . A very good location for exploring that part of Provence. Most rooms have an undisturbed view on the garden with a table and chairs on a small private terrace.

Review 42:Nothing.

Review 43:Owners very helpful and friendly. Staff also. Wonderful location. Excellent food. Reasonably priced. Lovely pool area. Exceptional holiday venue.

Review 44:Room was very loud (noise from neighbours, A/C, ...). Room terrace not inviting. In general too pricey.

Review 45:Hosts very friendly. Nice view from pool terrace.

Review 46:What a hotel? Together with my wife and 4 months old daughter we satyed only for three nights. The food was delicious, room was clean and the staff very friendly. I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who wolud travel to Luberon region. It was very close to most of the attractions. I would definetly go back and this time for more nights.

Review 47:Nothing. Everything was outstanding.

Review 48:We loved e everything about this place. The couple running it were amazing. They were so. Wry hospitable and helpful. He had such a great sense of humour and Monique is a fabulous cook. Breakfast was outstanding outside beside the pool. It was the most beautiful place and it made you really feel like you had finally arrived at Au Provence. I would love to come. A k here and stay a week.

Review 49:Gilles and monique are excellent hosts, helpful and friendly. The food was very good. The location was quiet with an excellent view of Roussillon and ready access to roads for visiting other Luberon towns. We would love to go back there on our next visit to Provence.

Review 50:The owner/operator is so nice and friendly. The hotel is surround by so much nature and beautiful environment that we just felt so relaxing. Great views also.

Review 51:the building (new provencal architecture, some cheap features), the noise from the road during the day, the dining room too small and dark, the price seems expensive for the lack of genuine "charm".

Review 52:the scenery, the hamam

Review 53:Comfortable setting with beautiful views. Quiet yet close enough to lovely hillside villages. Lovely breakfast.

Review 54:The calm atmosphere, away from the tourist area but yet not too far away

Review 55:The owner was very friendly .

Review 56:No water in the swiming pool, breakfast not worth the price.

Review 57:The staff, the location
