Reviews for George & Dragon
Review 1:Excellent accommodation and refurbished to a high standard. Staff friendly, food excellent and a accommodation comfortable and clean. Would highly recommend. Bedroom 5 has great views over the Estuary
Review 2:there is nothing that we didnt like everything was perfect
Review 3:this hotel is so convenient, my husband was running in the conwy half marathon and it was just around the corner. Shops, bars and cafes plus the castle are all just in the vicinity
Review 4:friendly staff, great location, clean, everything you need in the room, lovely breakfast. will definitely be happy to recommend to others. Will be back. Thank you.
Review 5:Nothing against the George and Dragon because this is out of their hands. It would be good if the council issued a parking permit allowing visitors to use the local car park to save going over every few hours to pay parking charges.
Review 6:The staff from the time we arrived to the time we left were courteous friendly, helpful. Our room was spotlessly clean and all meals were cooked to order. Would we stay there again? A resounding yes.
Review 7:Loved the location, it was wonderful staying in a walled village next to the castle. The staff were very good, the proprietor looked after us beautifully at dinner and breakfast, showing us true Welsh hospitality and excellent food. A great stay and would recommend to all!
Review 8:Lovely gem of a place . The rooms are tastefully decorated with quality fittings, the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. Really enjoyed our stay.
Review 9:Suggest you avoid this part (or maybe all of Wales) if your visit coincides with England playing Rugby Union. The anti-English sentiment on the Sat evening was vitriolic. The Hotel doesn't have parking facilities. Had to move car several times in 24hrs, once at 8am on Sunday morning!
Review 10:The proprietor certainly went our of her way to make our stay a success. Our room (no. 5) had a pleasant view of the estuary and the shower room was clearly new & spotlessly clean. We enjoyed a hearty/quality breakfast.
Review 11:The very steep and narrow stairs make this hotel awkward if you have any amount of luggage to carry to your room. There is no parking at hotel and street parking is only for an hour at a time during the day - parking police very active.
Review 12:An awesome location within view of the castle and in a quaint little street. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the view from our window of the harbour was lovely.
Review 13:Because of its position in the middle of the town it can be quite noisy and there is no parking, but balance this with the convenience of being right in the middle of the town.Lovely views over the quay from some rooms. Quite a steep staircase to access bedrooms could cause difficulty for less mobile guests.
Review 14:Hotel has been recently refurbished and room was wel lappointed, modern and clean.Staff helpfuland friendly. Excellent breakfast and extensive 'pub food' type menu for dinner.
Review 15:Turned up to find that the quiet deluxe double room I had booked was actually a twin front of the hotel room. Staff rectified it by pushing the beds together! Had to ask for a double quilt. Josh was lovely and very apologetic and took some money off to compensate.
Review 16:Josh and Danny were lovely staff.
Review 17:Unfortunately the wifi was weak and barely worked, it was really nice but just a bit pricey for what it was.
Review 18:Location was central and staff were very nice.
Review 19:We felt that the hotel was not ready for guests .This was however not down to the hotel management or staff but perhaps the brewery should have given them a bit longer to get things up and running.which caused a lot of teething problems but the staff were very apologetic and friendly.
Review 20:The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean
Review 21:Didn't have chance to sample the breakfast but the menu for dinner was all the traditional pub favourites and looked generous!
Review 22:Traditional coaching inn with updated bright but not too modern interior and very comfortable rooms. Friendly staff.
Review 23:The beds weren't made/changed whilst we were out and all monetary transactions had to be cash as there were no card machines.
Review 24:Staff were really friendly and in a lovely & interesting town.
Review 25:Very helpful and friendly staff. The rooms had been refurbished nicely and a good choice for breakfast.
Review 26:it was lovely, friendly helpful staff and decorated nicely. the bathrooms was clean, and close to the castle. great value for money too
Review 27:Really friendly staff. Beautifully clean room and bathroom
Review 28:breakfast reasonable, but not excellent. Did not get a set of main doors keys. No Towel rail.
