Reviews for Hollamoor Farm
Review 1:It was not our intention to complete a review but as you keep pressing we will pass on how we felt about the location. Firstly I suppose the advert established our expectations. Our experience indicated the advert was very overstated. Too much reliance perhaps on the 'Sir' and 'Lady' aspect, no stunning views and breakfast was no more than average. Generally we felt the location was run down and tired. Lots of derelict buildings and in the stable block where we were located, and currently under conversion, one would fall through the rafters if using the wrong entrance door. It needs properly finishing and some locks putting on the doors for contents security as well as health and safety. We felt we were in the way, breakfast was cooked by the groom who was in a hurry to get somewhere else, 'Sir' had gone off shooting, and 'Lady' was nowhere to be seen on either day. Too much dog and duck poo to get on your shoes.and boots and tread everywhere.
Review 2:The room will be first class when finished. Good imagination and great quality fittings in the bathroom Great for kids to be on a 'working' farm if they are with you. Innovative to allow you to take your horse along - a facility we did not need.
Review 3:Wifi was said to be available in all areas, this is untrue. After agreeing with the polite and charming husband to a full refund because this (to us ) vital facility was unavailable we were subsequently in formed by the wife that she alone was in charge of the finances and her husband had no right to offer one. After we threatened legal action and Booking.com got involved we sent a cheque along with a sarcastic note....the likes of which we now expected ,having already been accused of being screen obsessed and told that the likes of us (quote) should be staying in a Travel Lodge. Our room in the partly converted barn had no internet, radio, television or mobile phone connection, so do not book there unless you need no connection with the outside world
Review 4:We would always prefer an ensuite: probably my fault for not reading the description properly.
Review 5:The staff were friendly above and beyond, showing us around the farm.
Review 6:Hosts left 15yr old students to serve dinner. They went out....breakfast was perfunctory, little choice. Very rough road approach to property. Shared bathroom with other unknown guests.
Review 7:There was a problem with accessing their Wifi.
Review 8:We arrived at short notice, were warmly welcomed. Provided with a gorgeous room and a wonderful meal in front of a lovely warm fire. Our hosts are professional warm and welcoming. Although a little out of town ... only a few miles, it was well worth the journey.
Review 9:The property is some distance from services such as local eating facilities, but this also makes it unique.
Review 10:We stayed in a converted hay loft which was unique and well equipped. We appreciated being able to have an evening meal there after our long journey. Pasta and homemade cream was delicious and cost 25 pound per person. Our hosts were very friendly and showed us around the distinctive property with stables, wild life, horse and hunting trails. The property is about 15 minutes from Barnstaple.
Review 11:The location on the farm, the wonderful walks, the beautiful accommodation, and we were made so very welcome, which all adds up to a memorable experience
Review 12:There was absolutely nothing we didnt like
Review 13:Location perfect for a multitude of activities walking cycling and exploring Devon Our stay was too short but the choice of b and b turned out perfect
Review 14:Great rural location, but still within easy reach of beaches. Very comfortable guest room and tasty cooked breakfast in a characterful dining room with beautiful log-fire. The couple that ran the B&B were extremely welcoming and did their utmost to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.
Review 15:Excellent hospitality – just like staying with good friends. Very different experience from anonymous impersonal hotels. Rural location with handy country walks – but just 15 mins from the town centre.
