Reviews for La Petite Auberge de Roussillon

Review 1:The bedding had been washed in a very heavy bleach and I am very sensitive to strong smells. I was unable to sleep on the sheets and it affected others in our party as well.

Review 2:We had a change of plans and booked this hotel based on convenience. It was fine but not very charming.

Review 3:In a distance from the city - with a car no problem at all

Review 4:Nice quiet place with the terrace to have breakfast or dinner prepared by the hosts. Although we were late for the breakfast, they prepared for us everything one can need in the morning:). There is also a pool and tennis courts.

Review 5:very good position, clean and tidy, comfortable equipment and bed, very kind staff. a little bit far from the town center, but very relaxing surroundings and close to the Conservatoire des Ocres.

Review 6:Nothing in particular.

Review 7:Lovely hotel with huge garden and nice premises. It really felt like being ina Provence home. Conveniently close to the village. dinners were excellent.

Review 8:too bad that holidays were over and we had to leave

Review 9:The best place ever, very helpful people, great facilities (including the pool), tasty breakfast and superbe dinner. We enjoyed a lot and we can't wait to be back. Thank you, merci beaucoup. A la prochaine fois

Review 10:The staff were very friendly, informative and attentive. The room was excellent value for money and I was very pleasantly surprised to walk into a beautifully decorated and maintained room. It was great to have a pool too. Breakfast was lovely and fresh and I thought it was very personal to have the Chef greet guests and hand a croissant in person!

Review 11:Would have liked something to chill drinks in the room (i.e. bar-fridge or ice and ice-bucket).

Review 12:Fabulous location within walking distance to the centre of Rousillon. Loved the private terrace that was shady in the afternoon sun, the pool, tennis court and lush grounds.

Review 13:Great place to stay just on the outskirts of Roussillon. Lovely staff and very relaxed. A 3 minute drive to the centre of Roussillon which is stunning.

Review 14:No none but would like aN extension cord to charge batteries laptops etc

Review 15:We loved Florian. Without him the place would be devoid of charm. Nadineis also helpful but Florian with his way of talking and charm madebreakfast a wonderful experience.

Review 16:This was our FAVORITE place in all of France, we loved everything about it from the moment we met Nadine and Guy. They are excellent hosts and their place was completely wonderful.

Review 17:La dame qui nous a accueillit n'était pas très sympathique, nous disant (à 19h30) qu'elle nous attendait même plus. La chambre avait des toiles d'araignées qui semblaient y être depuis une éternité. Les chambres sont vraiment de base.

Review 18:Our second night was spent in the room I originally booked. Although the room was very nice, it was in a separate building away from the main buildings. The room was great and private, nothing wrong at all. We just preferred being in the middle of things. It was nice talking to other travelers.

Review 19:When we arrived I had mistakenly booked only one night and needed another nights stay. Our host was very accommodating and showed us to our room. We slept very well in the comfortable yet modest room. It felt like home. In the morning we had breakfast that was delicious in a friendly and sunny dining room. Very nice and relaxed

Review 20:Room a little dark, but probably good for very hot weather. Not a fan of the "wet bathrooms",

Review 21:Friendly staff, breakfast delicious and plentiful, very quiet.

Review 22:- Breakfast is very basic for the price, no salty items are provided. Adding eggs might be a good option. - Garden View did not have much to offer

Review 23:- Big, spacious , clean and beautiful rooms with comfortable bed - Calm Stay - Good wi-fi in room - Friendly staff, very communicating, you need to pre-book your table for dinner - Walking distance from conservatory

Review 24:The peace and quiet felt like like being in the country. Wonderful situation just on the outskirts of the old town of Roussillon. Food and staff very fruendly

Review 25:Restaurant closed because of time of year. Would have appreciated a change of towels as difficult to dry them in our room in October. Coffee at breakfast from a machine

Review 26:Large peaceful room with great terrace. Good shower and hot water. Very clean. Excellent location for exploring the area. Swimming pool warm enough to use in October.

Review 27:It was a bit far from the center (not within normal walking distance). The Wi-Fi did not work in our room.

Review 28:La Petite Auberge is a very nice hotel. Our room was spacious and very comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 29:Wi if didn't work in rooms. Dessert wasn't very good at dinner.

Review 30:The room was generous, the terrace great, loved the pool but skippedtennis, good breakfast, ok dinner, good shower, only can get wi fi inthe restaurant. Great location, short drive to town.

Review 31:Wi-Fi signal was poor in my room.

Review 32:The location is excellent if you travel by car. You have a free parking in the hotel and all beautiful top-hill villages are very close.

Review 33:The WiFi was practically non-existent. I could only get it on my phone and computer in Reception, and not at all in the room. Apparently iPhones and iPads can hook up no problem, but not Android and Windows devices.

Review 34:A lovely family hotel, with everything that you need. The room was huge and had lovely views of the garden. Nice comfortable bed, and great bathroom. Just outside the lovely village of Roussillon, which is well worth visiting - a great place to use as a base for exploring, or to stay and relax.

Review 35:The wi-fi was a bit hit and miss

Review 36:The location was good - very close to the town of Rousillon. The 3-course evening meal (although there were no choices) was excellent, as was the breakfast.

Review 37:Wifi connection is poor

Review 38:Nice place for a relaxing weekend. The major attractions of the region are reachable in a 20 minutes drive. The town center of Roussilion in less then 5 minutes.

Review 39:Mattresses are uncomfortable and rooms upstairs have no balconies. We felt it missed seating areas around the garden.

Review 40:Good location. Roussillon is walking distance from the auberge. Very clean and spacious rooms with good storage for clothes and suitcases. The children enjoyed the swimming pool and tennis court. Breakfasts are good and handy to have option of having dinner there.

Review 41:the reception was closed when we arrived until 15.00 The owner does not know the area that well so cannot give the usual recommendations of where to visit and eat as it the norm in this area

Review 42:the village where the hotel is based (on the edge of) is fabulous, picturesque and really worth a visit. The location allows you to visit all the other lovely villages in the area as well as the famous lavander fields They have an outdoor swimming pool and a good breakfast at only 8 Euro per person Rooms were plain but clean and comfortable, excellent value for money in August

Review 43:Only complaint was WiFi didn't work.

Review 44:A lovely place to stay. There were crowds of tourists in Roussillon so this hotel was a quiet retreat. Lovely grounds with a nice swimming pool. Large bedroom with plenty of natural light. Didn't stay for breakfast but the outside dining area looked lovely and dinner could also be ordered if required.

Review 45:Great location (we had a car), friendly hosts, room spacious, clean & comfy!

Review 46:Care by owners for our needs

Review 47:The hotel is a good walk from the town of Roussillon, so each time we wanted to go into town we had to drive and pay for parking.

Review 48:nothing not to like

Review 49:The breakfast was very good as was the room and the staff

Review 50:Nothing

Review 51:Spacious room; spacious private terrace; pleasant grounds

Review 52:A mini bar in the room would be good.

Review 53:Nice big room with a terrass outside. Quiet location, free parking, helpful staff.

Review 54:Rooms were quite bare and a bit depressing.

Review 55:Bathroom was functional and shower worked well with excellent water pressure.

Review 56:Everyone was friendly, but not outstanding as we encountered at other locations in Provence.

Review 57:The hotel is charming Roussillon is easy to reach by car

Review 58:Very clean room and beautiful view!!

Review 59:Very good location. Nice swimming pool and tennis court. AC works well in this hot summer evenings.

Review 60:Room too far from restaurant.

Review 61:Food excellent.

Review 62:The room lacked a fridge and tea making facilities. An iron and ironing board would have been handy.

Review 63:Location, friendly, courteous staff, food

Review 64:Nice quite place

Review 65:Lovely Roms with beautiful terrass, nice breakfast, wonderful three course dinner, very friendly staff.

Review 66:The terrasse with chairs, table and easy chairs, the pool, the garden, the option to get half pension at rather short notice

Review 67:Our standard room had no windows, only the entrance door: to change air you've to leave open the door.

Review 68:Quiet place, far from Roussillon about 1min of car, 10mins walking. Good breakfast.

Review 69:Good base from which to explore the beautiful "village perche" of the Vaucluse. Basic but pleasant Provencal-style accommodation and friendly owners.

Review 70:Requires a vehicle to get to town or restaurants but not far out enough to feel like your away from things. Feels a bit like a dormitory with block like design. On site restaurant did not have much ambience, we did not eat there as a result.

Review 71:Reasonably priced rooms, clean and roomy. Would be good for a quick overnight stay if your on the bike or in a car.

Review 72:The owner was great, very hospitable. The food was fantastic and wasyummy, one of the best meals we had in France and great breakfast.Beautiful ambiance, charming very clean, spotless, comfortable rooms.Nice garden . Serene and quiet, would highly recommend this place

Review 73:It is not the place to visit off-season. So being a bit distant from thevillage and completely devoid of other guests, it felt a bit lonely andoppressive. It would definitely have been improved by the presence ofother families and children. If staying off season, definitely to noteat in the Auberge restaurant but go into the village.

Review 74:A good home-base for families wishing to see some of the country, butalso relax, to play tennis, swim in their facility. It is situated ina green park-like area about 1.5 km from the village. The owner isfriendly and anxious to please, supplementing breakfast with homemade items.

Review 75:The shower head was broken from the wall mounting. The other quests were very noisy late at night.

Review 76:The room was spacious and well appointed. The owner was friendly and helpful. The food was very good. The whole place was spotlessly clean.

Review 77:We loved our stay at the hotel and would go back there in an instant! Our room was very clean and quite large, which has been unusual in many of our other hotels. The owners speak limited English but are quite friendly. Breakfast each morning was satisfying and dinner each night was delicious. The dinner menu is limited but the owners do all the cooking, serving and cleaning up. Each room has a terrace or balcony with chairs so sitting outside was wonderful.

Review 78:No coffee pot in room. Air conditioner non functional. Time was off by an hour. Toilet paper in sheets instead of rolls

Review 79:Very clean. Nice rooms. Nice service.

Review 80:Not enough plugs in the room (only one in the bathroom which was for the hairdryer), under the bed was dirty, it is forbidden to use the iron and ironing board in the bedroom (??) and the staff treated guests like school students, not close to the town centre (you will need a car), expensive relative to what you get.

Review 81:Spacious room, toilet separate to bathroom, nice view of the garden and tennis court, free parking.

Review 82:The shower head was broken and, most importantly, we had to carry suitcases over 50m on a gravel drive (impossible to roll bags) from the car park to the building door, then upstairs. Could see NO practical reason we could not have a temporary load/unload at the door.

Review 83:The room was very fresh and clean. Also very quiet.

Review 84:The main problem is that it is hard to find. The address they gave uswould not compute for our gps, so we input the gps coordinates theyprovided instead. Those coordinates directed us up the hill and straightinto the center of the village...exactly what we were trying to avoid. When we called to get directions, the woman we spoke to did not speakenough English to help us. If you get lucky you will come across one ofthe signs they have posted and can follow those to the hotel.

Review 85:Once you find it, it is a lovely place...just as pretty as expected. Wewere there in July, and so much lavender was in bloom that everythingsmelled like soap...wonderful. The property backs up to some ochrecliffs, so you can have yourself a little hike right from your room. The rooms are minimally decorated, but very spacious and comfortable. Parking is on-site and easy. Wi-fi is strong. Breakfast is not included in the price, but it was really delicious, and I strongly recommend you eat there if you need a good breakfast in the morning, as there aren't many better options in the village. We had one dinner at their restaurant, and it was very nice, although in the case of dinner, there are, actually, many better options in the area. Overall this is a lovely and affordable hotel, and we were very happy with it.

Review 86:It's a very good hotel, not so far from the village if you are travelling by car. The place where it's situated is calm and quiet. The breakfast is excellent, with many options , and is not expensive. I assure it's a good choice!

Review 87:We're not used to a shower without a curtain -- it was hard not to havethe whole floor wet even though we tried!! Breakfast was fine, butcoffee out of the machine was not up to French standards -- it tastedlike instant coffee with milk from a can. Dinner was delicious, butapparently the menu never changes, so it's not appealing to come back.We would have liked a waste basket in the bedroom for papers, and otherdiscards that are neither wet nor smelly-- the one in the bathroom wasfine for those things.

Review 88:Great setting, flowers in the gardens. Room was large andcomfortable, we enjoyed our patio, and the pool. THe host was veryhelpful with luggage, a car problem and in general. Near Roussillon, convenient for touring around villages, etc. Quiet. Good dinner.- Theone night we ate in.

Review 89:Room simple but spacious. Everything else was very good. The food was great, the hospitality felt, place calm and comfortable.

Review 90:Wonderful hosts and excellent amenities.

Review 91:The owners were so friendly! The hotel is very clean, close to the city and it should definitely be rated more than 2* !

Review 92:beautiful garden and rooms, very quiet

Review 93:A fair hike out of town if you don't have a car

Review 94:A good family option with pool and grassy areas; good meals in the restaurant

Review 95:Room is large. Roussillon is a lovely little historical town that you should arrive before sunset. It is romantic and beautiful.

Review 96:Very quiet, clean, comfortable. Good breakfast with home-made and local produce. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 97:The welcome and the simplicity

Review 98:It's a very human stay, staff, restaurant with a delicious cooking, quiet place.

Review 99:Nice and clean room (which smelled like lavender, lovely!), delicious breakfast and very nice staff.

Review 100:Unpaved road to the hotel rooms

Review 101:It's very beautiful and calm place with facinating dinner!
