Review 1：When we arrived, there was no-one at the hotel, so the neighbours had tocall. Apparently our key (with a note) was at the reception, whichwasn't quite visible. We know it was off season, but the ownershould have sent us an e-mail saying where we could find the key... Butthat's the only 'negative' thing. Oh, just besides thisminor thing: the location is a bit hard to find when you come frominland, as the signs are only visible when you come from the village.

Review 2：Very good location, not in the very centre of Matala, but as the villageisn't exactly a huge town, it's only a 5 to 10 minutes walk tothe beach... The rooms are basic, but clean, with good beds and a goodshower, and the wifi works well. Good breakfast and considering theprice, it is absolutely good value for money!

Review 3：First time in more than 20 years of travelling that I left an accommodation without having spent the night there. Only cold water, heating system not working, staff left in the afternoon, no water in pool. Everything was so depressing that I decided to find myself a new place .

Review 4：The staff was very friendly; the house ( no villa at all, more like Motel 6 type of accommodation ) is very close to Mátala and the Carrefour supermarket. Fast internet.

Review 6：Very friendly staff, nice swimmingpool-area, the rooms are basic but clean, breakfast is nothing special but "typical greek" (Feta, Tomatoes, Egg, etc.). Location is very quiet and it's only a 5-10 minutes walk to the centre/beach (which we always enjoyed)

Review 7：One of the three rooms we got was in a different building - size was 10 square meters instead of the specified 30. Unlike what was specified there was no phone or minibar in all the rooms. The third smaller room did not have also TV at all and also no safe box. When we complained to the owner he said we can cancel the reservation (What can you do now ? walk down the street and look for something else ?). We asked for extra towels and toilet paper and had to convince them to give us. Also they said we should have brought our own towels to use at the pool, as they do not supply pool towels (the facility has a nice pool). Triple rooms (we booked one triple and two double and got two triple and one very very small double) are specified 40 square meters. They are barely 25. The double should be 30 and was about 10 square meter ( including shower / toilet). Over all staff (family ?) was terrible and facility much less that specified !!!!!

Review 11：Staff is very gentle and helpful. Breakfast is very good and the general atmosphere is wonderful. It is 5 minutes walking from the city center, and the position is very quite.

Review 12：When we arrived on Sunday, we had to wait 20 minutes until our room was ready. It was 1 hour after the beginning of the check in time, so it was a bit uncomfortable. After one night, they exchanged our room, and - again - we had to wait half an hour for the new room. In the new room, we had no wifi connection. When we asked the staff, they looked surprised about the question and said they had no wifi in the rooms - however it is written in the description!!!

Review 13：The hotel was really pretty and the rooms were cosy. Very close to the centre, it took only 5 minutes on foot. The breakfast was tasty, but a bit boring after few days.

Review 15：We were very well welcomed by the staff and had a good time in Matala. Location is not prime, but you can reach the beach within a 10 min walk. Wi-fi connection is good, facilities are comfortable and spacious, swimming pool area is nice and clean, breakfast is standard but overall good quality and quantity. Very good deal. Recommended.

Review 16：The shower was a bit too small and not very convenient. It would be nice to plant some trees on the car parking place to have a bit of shadow :)

Review 17：We had a family room at the ground floor, under the cool and nice vegetated pergola. A must at day and night time during the hot summer. The air conditioning was also very nice to have even though we did not need to use it always. The swimming pool was great before going to the sea side. It is ideal for kids (also small) and adults.

Review 20：The cramped bathroom there everything especially the toilet got wet then showering in a old room with ugly tiles. This is something the hotel wants to fix in the future and this would dramatically raise the standard. WiFi are only available near the pool and in the stairwell, I would recommend them getting a WiFi bouncer. The beds were two twin beds of limited comfort.

Review 21：The nice Hotelier, Matala as a destination, it is 8 minutes walk to the city center. The room was quite large and there was a pool that was only slightly smaller than the pictures would suggest. The breakfast was a buffet with some nice and some less nice things. The balcony is quite nice.

Review 33：This is a family run hotel within five minutes walk to the center of Matala. The rooms are simple but with all amenities such as fridge, tv with international channels, safe and air conditioning. They are sparkling clean and quiet! The pool is a few meters away with beautiful surroundings and a nice pool bar with good prices! Marianthi (the owner's daughter) is taking care of everything to detail always with a smile. The Wi Fi (contrary to other hotels that I stayed in Greece) was working perfectly both at the pool area and rooms. Breakfast was Cretan style with freshly baked breads, fruits, yogurt, eggs, local feta cheese etc. Overall a great family run hotel offering Cretan hospitality! I would highly recommend it and will definitely rebook if I go to Crete. Great value for money!

Review 34：- an odor of septic tank - moving from a room to another room during our stay - an inner part air condition misplacement - dirty tables at breakfast - there is likely no rule that bed linen is washed every day - some of the equipment was damaged - poor food choices at breakfast (every day same) - they didn't get access to a Wifi router close our room - Wifi in breakfast place wasn't working during whole our stay Sometimes we've thought that the jung woman staff explanations that something is so and so was just a "pulling the nose" and making people stupid but maybe we are wrong :) We think the stars of this hotel aren't adequate the quality of services. They can improve it so maybe somebody other can do a better review.

Review 35：We liked Matala and the nature there. It is a little windy place and beaches are with waves but it suit us. There are good restaurants with good food and unstudied people as well. So Matala is certainly a good choice for not consumer society. Please keep the nature and the place clean otherwise we would have to choose other destination next time.

The price shown on the door of theroom was the same as advertised reduced price.. The room wasn´t wortheven the reputed low price. I don´t recomend it!

Review 93：we arrived for 3 nights stay, and booked the room a month before the arrivale. but when we arrived they told us that on the first night we will stay in a smaller room (without mini bar and TV and safe) and the next day we'll move to the bigger room - that we booked. the first night was terrible! no remote for the air condition, no hot water to shower, uncomfortable beds. the second room was very good! i still don't understand why it wasn't avalibale for us from the first night! and we paid the full amount for the stay! the brekfast was very poor.

Review 97：The staff we met we're not friendly. For example, when we asked about wi-if, the lady gave us the password, but she didn't tell us it worked only in the reception area. The breakfast was so-so at best. What bothered us most was that we hardly slept because we were fighting Mosquitos most of the night. The next morning I noticed the screen to the window inthe shower was broken, so the mosquitoes could enter easily. The place looks impressive when you first enter, because of the pretty pool, but this place in no way deserves a three star rating.

Review 99：The mosquitos were really annoying, getting into the room despite keeping all doors and windows shut all night. Not really the fault of the hotel but come prepared with plenty of repellant! Wi-fi connection was very poor in our particular room, maybe better elsewhere in the villa, I didn't check.

The beach is in a marvelous, rock-flanked, sandy-pebbled, calm bay. Warm sea and clear, sunny weather even in early Nov. Another rural beach nearby. Beautiful sunsets. Plenty of small restaurants offering excellent traditional food.
