Reviews for Plasnewydd Bed And Breakfast
Review 1:We actually booked this for my dad as we stayed in a camper. The wonderful lady who owns the place invited us in for breakfast and tea as our dad mentioned we were out the front. The breakfast was delicious and she made us feel warm and very welcomed. We found her hospitality to be so welcoming and we highly recommend this place
Review 2:Nothing
Review 3:We had marvelous holidays in wales. Shirley is a helpful, warm and friendly host. She did everything to make our holidays perfekt. We had large and delicious breakfast.Room and ensuite were clean and comfortable. All in all we had a wonderfully relaxed week and would definitely recommend it to any of our friends
Review 4:We recieved a warm welcome and were delighted to find a piece of homemade cake each in the room. Breakfast was great, out host was very helpful and we'd stay again.
Review 5:No en-suite facilities so we shared a bathroom. This didn't matter so much as there were only 4 guests, but it could become a problem with more. Wi-fi can drop out, and the ITV Freeview channels disappeared altogether on our third night.
Review 6:Shirley the proprietor is warm and friendly, and obviously loves hosting B & B clients. The house is furnished very traditionally with lots of knick-knacks which might not be to everyone's taste, but it's cosy and comfortable.
Review 7:Nothing identified.
Review 8:The room and ensuite were clean and comfortable with a wonderful hot shower and huge fluffy bath towels. The full English breakfast and fruit /cereals was plentiful and cooked to perfection. Shirley was attentive ,helpful warm and friendly. All in all we had a wonderfully relaxed week end break and would definitely recommend it to any of our friends. We attended an event in the Town so were perfectly placed to walk to the event and safely partake of a beer or two! Other guests chose Plasnewydd B and B because it was within easy travelling distance to places of interest. We visited Hay On Wye en route home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Review 9:Made to feel very welcome. Advised that we had exclusive use of the allocated bathroom. Nice touches eg. Welsh cake and bottled water. Best of all, and hurrah a plug for The hair drier next to a mirror- don't get that often!
Review 10:I liked the very warm, clean and comfortable surroundings which was situated off the main road in a quiet village setting in rural surroundings. The double room with ensuite was excellent where I had a good nights sleep. The breakfast was superb, being a light eater I only asked for bacon, egg and toast which was ample and tasted absolutely delicious! So many thanks to Shirley and Norman for providing me with a very warm welcome and a lovely place to stay for the night. Would return here again and would highly recommend.
Review 11:We stayed 3 nights at Plasnewydd B&B and we enjoyed every second,Sheerly the owner was absolutely a wonderful host, she made us feel at home. She cooked a lovely breakfast from the local produce and made us fresh cakes every day which she left for us in the room. The room and the bathroom were very clean and tidy. we also enjoyed the food in the restaurants in the village. We highly recommend you to stay at the Plasnewydd B&B as we would definitely come back again :)
Review 12:The warmth and comfort of our room, the interesting chats we had at breakfast with our host, Shirley, and the amazing flours she has cultivated at the front and side of her place. It was truly a home away from home where we had breakfasts to die for.
Review 13:The b&b was very clean and well looked after. The garden around the building was amazing, lots of colour. Bedroom was clean and tidy. Full english breakfast was great. The b&b is in a good location. Ideal place for mountain biking. Shirley and Norman were very helpful whilst at my stay. Can't wait to come back. Jason Walker.
Review 14:I stayed here for my summer holiday for a week. The room was tidy and private bathroom was perfect. There are tea/coffee facilities and Shirley also provided bottled water on the first night and cake every evening. The breakfast was lovely and very big, with a lot of choices. Shirley always interested in what I had done and where I am planning to go next and every time she offered help or suggestions. The smallest town in Britain is really quiet and there is a bank with cash machine, pub, restaurants and a corner shop. There are some really nice walks from the town to hills around.

Review 36:Home from home comfort in a beautiful home with very attentive hosts
Review 37:Narrow shower cubicle.
Review 38:This is a comparatively small B&B with only a handful of rooms. Only one double is en suite. A disadvantage you might think but the welcome you receive from Shirley, the owner, and the quality of the food served makes up for having to walk a few steps along the corridor to use the private bathroom if you are in a single room. Off street parking is adequate for the small number of residents. The premises is a short walk from the centre of the smallest town in Wales. Rooms are very comfortable with a welcoming tea tray enhanced by complimentary bottles of water and Welsh cakes or some of the best homemade fruitcake we've ever tasted. The bedroom, bathroom(s) and dining room are immaculately clean. We had fresh, fluffy, towels each day and we were offered clean sheets after the first couple of nights. The location is very quiet. You will occasionally hear jackdaws and sheep calling. The well kept garden has hidden nooks where one can sit and have a quiet drink. Shirley produces the largest cooked breakfasts we've ever been offered. Each item is cooked to order. Shirley and Norman are attentive without being intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble for them. In fact we extended our stay by a further two nights as we enjoyed the break so much. The only, very slight, disadvantage is that the double en suite room has a rather small shower cubicle. At six foot and rather broad I found it a tight squeeze. I cannot fault anything else about our stay. This B&B is ideal for single travellers, couples and those wanting a Mid-Wales location for touring the Brecon Beacons or Elan Valley. We will definitely be returning.
Review 39:Limited on site parking but adjacent street parking available so this really isn't an issue
Review 40:Very welcoming. Wide range of breakfast options. Room very comfortable. Provides an excellent base to explore one of the most beautiful areas of Wales
Review 41:Shirley the owner was very helpful in pointing out places to go to both in town for meals and drives to places of interest nearby. Friendly welcome and made us feel at home. Would stay again if in area.
Review 42:This B&B is run by a really lovely and accommodating couple. The room was bigger than I expected and spotless! I loved the Welsh cakes in our room and our bed was extremely comfortable.
Review 43:The friendly atmosphere, the welcome, service, facilities, room, excellent breakfast, etc. Mrs Allen arranged for an early full breakfast for me. Basically, I have nothing negative I say about my stay.
