Review 3:My husband and I felt very welcomed by David and Jo, and were served freshly baked welsh cakes and a pot of tea on arrival! The room had a beautiful view out onto fields, and there were lots of breakfast options which catered for all tastes. The owners were very helpful at suggesting things to do in the area and nice places to go for dinner. All-round lovely weekend away!
Review 4:The owners were fantastic, extremely helpful and hospitable. Being a 'younger couple' I thought we may not fit in but i was wrong. They made it so enjoyable for us and advised us where to go in the local area!

Review 6:There is nothing not to like about The Spinney. We were met by one of the owners, Jo, on arrival and offered a cream tea which was much appreciated after a long car journey. The location of the Spinney and room are fantastic with great views of the countryside. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and all made from local ingredients. The apple yogurts were simply superb. Jo and David have great local knowledge on the best local places to eat and know of some great coastal walks. All in all one of the best B&B's we have stayed in.
Review 7:Lovely welcome with offer of cream tea! Spotless cleanliness. Excellent breakfast choices, with homemade bread, jams, and choice of Jo's Bircher muesli or yogurt with varied fruits. Highly recommend staying here.
Review 8:The owners were helpful and welcoming, everything was carefully thought through.Even down to having fresh milk available for tea - it makes such a difference when the details are taken care of.

Review 15:We appreciated a warm welcome, excellent choice of food and extra little "touches" to make our stay most enjoyable. The Spinney is a good base for exploring the area.

Review 28:Couldn't find one fault with the owners or the place. Couldn't believe our luch to have chosen such an ideal place.
Review 29:Strict check-in/out and breakfast timings. Although they were given to provide a better service, we felt a little compelled by rigid timings and house rules.
Review 30:Scenic location, beautiful Guesthouse with comfortable ensuite rooms, all clean and tidy and very quiet. Home made, fresh breakfast produce. We felt well looked after by Landlady.
Review 31:I loved Jo's home made gluten-free bread and potato cake for breakfast, following the delicious fresh fruit platter and cereal. Everything we needed was in the bedroom, even cotton buds, obviously guests needs were well thought through. Our hosts were very friendly and hospitable.
Review 32:Only only teeny weeny thing was the mattress was very comfortable but a little bit too soft for me as I need firm due to a back problem. But 99% people would find it perfect!
Review 33:Jo and David couldn't have made us feel more welcome! The room was nicely decorated, comfortable and had everything we needed. Jo and David really enjoy what they do - and it shows!

Review 37:We could not stay for more than two days.
Review 38:Very friendly and hospitable hosts. Despite the plunging temperatures outside, the house was warm and welcoming. Lovely room with every amenity. Meals served in a delightful conservatory, built around an old grapevine. Spectacular breakfast, particularly the fresh fruit which was beautifully presented. In all, a memorable experience. We shall recommend the Spinney to our friends.

Review 50:Relaxing atmosphere in a charming period setting, my stay was peaceful and left me feeling refreshed. Usually on business I stay in a hotel or one of the larger motel chains, and this was a welcome change that was just the tonic I needed. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the building itself was just "to die for". A great place to stay.
Review 51:the welcome - the genuine friendliness and helpfulness - the location - the comfort of our accommodation - our excellent breakfast in a very sunny conservatory - the ambience of the Spinney!!!

Review 58:The guest house is a old style house, but the owners have made it very modern inside and is decorated beautifully and everywhere is very clean. Dave and Jo the owners made us fill very welcome and was full of information on places to visit in the area, and recommend some nice places to eat for evening meals.
Review 59:Greeted with tea and fruit bread after a long journey on busy bank holiday roads. Excellent and varied breakfast Comfortable room Very friendly owners
Review 60:The welcome received on arrival was exceptional and most gratefully appreciated following a disappointment encountered with a 'family' booking for a venue close by. Arriving later than intended caused by the issues encountered elsewhere were soon forgotten with how we were received at The Spinney at 8:30pm. My wife and I were both offered coffee and two large pieces of delicious sponge cake, which went down a treat after a long arduous journey! The premises externally are immaculate and situated in quiet part of this beautiful county were the 'tops'. The room and it's ensuite facilities for our overnight stay were spotlessly clean and the huge king size bed was a 'dream' of a sleep! Choice of breakfast was good and we can both vouch for the full English. Lovely homely place to stay. Absolutely no hesitation at recommending this place for a stay. I am sure we may put in another appearance when down there again.
Review 61:Loved the prize winning slice of chocolate cake on arrival. Home made food was very high quality, and the premises were spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated.

Review 64:Everything; best breakfast, best room, best hosts, best cleanliness. Home-made bread, yoghurts, granola, scones, local sausages/bacon/eggs/devon cream. Best location, best views, best garden, best breakfast room (with amazing vine). Couldn't fault anything.
Review 65:We had a room with a separate bathroom, which was ok, but not if you needed to use it in the middle of the night!
Review 66:Great relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, idyllic location, free wi-fi and top quality food.
Review 67:It would have been nice to have a bath as well as a shower.
