Reviews for Apartments Xenophon

Review 1:Getting the shower hot takes time, (best is to open te shower tap, not the shower itself, and let water flow abundantly until it heats up eventually. There's an oven but no glass or stone recipiënts to use in it. Rooms are a bit dark.

Review 2:Sophia is very friendly and helpful. When we arrived we had good communication how to get the key and so. When the kitchen stove malfunctioned Nikos immediately brought us a spare one. Wifi was good.

Review 3:The property is quite close to the road, but since the road stops at Matala, there was not too much traffic and it was quiet at night.

Review 4:We had a friendly welcome and enjoyed a three night stay in a neat studio. Whilst compact, we had everything we needed, and liked the shaded outdoor patio. A short walk into town, with its beautiful beach in the bay, and interesting rocky headlands each side.

Review 5:We booked 2 nights, had to spend the firts in a cramped room scented with a strong humidity smell. Fortunatly Sophia had a healthier room available the next day. The equipment is quite aging.

Review 6:Sophia is nice and flexible. The village is not far at all by foot, the view on the mountain is nice from the first floor and beyond. The yard with the hamac is pretty nice for a quick nap or just chilling. Matala is a lovely little village

Review 7:The bed was too small for two people and the toilet didn't work properly. The bed sheets were not so clean, with some blood spots

Review 8:The room was nice, it is located just 10 min walking from the town.

Review 9:5-10' walk from everything. Needed to leave water running for 5 minutes to get hot. Poor room arrangement. All lights switches on the wrong side of the door (opening the door blocks the switch), the only annoying thing.

Review 10:Excellent, helpful, polite, cheerful, accommodating stuff. I'd book again just because of them. For the price, the bed was more comfortable than expected. Totally silent yet efficient air-conditioning. Cozy décor. Much softer towels than the average cheap hotel.

Review 11:We didn't like the ground floor rooms, so asked to move upstairs to a room with a view and better air circulation. Sofia, the owner was more than accommodating.

Review 12:My wife and I were driving from Ierapetra to Chania and needed a rest stop in between. I had randomly picked the town of Matala to stay. How lucky we were! Nice lodging, sweet owner, great location.

Review 13:the hot water was always just warm, but this was a problem we found everywhere in Crete. I did not like that the payment for the stay was taken from credit card 21 days before our stay without warning me in advance. even if cancellation policy was clear, payment should have been on the day we arrived.

Review 14:appartments are really nice and cozy, with all you may need, kitchen items well organized

Review 15:Cretan beds. Made from brick kept walking into them!!

Review 16:Apartment was clean and comfortable and really liked the fact that it had a daily maid service which we were not expecting being self catering. Sophia was very helpful and friendly. Easy access to Matala and good value for money.

Review 17:There wasn't anything to dislike!

Review 18:Cleanliness, friendliness, location, free air-con, free wi-fi, small touches like nice towels, mosquito plugs and candles made it all very nice and was much appreciated

Review 19:Nothing.

Review 20:Short walk from the beach.

Review 21:lovely place to go friendly staff

Review 22:Bathroom, noisy (too close to the street and really too many crickets on the trees just in front of the apartment)

Review 23:Generally charming

Review 24:That I couldn't stay forever.

Review 25:We had the best holiday at these apartments. Huge rooms and balcony. Maid everyday. Lovely host

Review 26:The Wi-Fi connection was temperamental inside the room due to the thick walls however stepping outside quickly fixed this. No major complaints

Review 27:Sofia was outstanding despite working limited hours due to having a young baby. I could not check in before 1pm as requested however Sofia ensured that I was able to check into my room by myself and left me plenty of relevant information to get me settled.

Review 28:Room smelled musty but improved slightly after airing.

Review 29:Studio was small but adequate. Kitchen well equipped. There was no staff present because it was winter so they left the key in the door for us.

Review 30:While making our room daily (which was great), they would leave the window unlocked to air the room. My issue was that if anything was stolen (very unlikely I am sure) who would bear responsobility? Safety before airing the room please!!!

Review 31:A good place to relax, Matala has it all. The hotel had everything you need for a basic stay at a reasonable price.

Review 32:Studios are well equipt, would suit singles or couple who do not want a lot of space . Quiet location on edge of Matala short walk to centre. Studios have pleasant outlook .Would book again.

Review 33:Excellent base for family holiday and really good value . No extra charges for aircon and safe. Easy walk to the beach and main village. Would recommend for anyone on a budget. Thank-you.

Review 34:humidity in the room (I think because we were in the ground floor), and the balcony not covered (but It was the only one not covered in all the residence)

Review 35:the well-equipped kitchen, the beautiful garden.

Review 36:Never anybody in reception might have been a problem but manager was never too far away in there was a problem (electicity went one night but sorted in 15 mins).

Review 37:Spacious apt, well-stocked kitchenette, air-conditioning ( a must in Matala). Perfectly suited to our holiday - on the beach by day, cooked some nights in the apt. Apt was cleaned most days.

Review 38:Excellent apartment - top standard cleaning and service. Comfortable, quite and best view to the mountains. Stayed there twice in three yearsand definitely coming back.

Review 39:No staff in evidence for the whole of our 2-night stay; as it happenedwe didn't need anything

Review 40:Pleasant environment, very clean room with charming rustic decor, well-equipped kitchenette, good location near the town centre and beach butnice and quiet

Review 41:Cockroaches in rooms and patio on the ground floor. Every moring we found one or two under the shower.

Review 42:strong smell in the room

Review 43:location and quietness

Review 44:Not very close to the sea or any shop. About 10-15 minutes walk.

Review 45:Nice plant-covered common space terrace to have evening glass of wine.

Review 46:The bed was extremely uncomfortable, we left a day early to find a morecomfortable bed elsewhere

Review 47:Location was a short walk to town

Review 48:Very good location, very quiet and cheap. Matala is really a great place to be.

Review 49:Very clean rooms and quiet location. Cooking facilities good too.Exactly what we wanted from our accomodation.
