Reviews for Le Grand Hotel du Hohwald
Review 1:We've chosen this hotel with some kind of luxurious expectations. But in reality the hotel is old and correspond already not modern standarts. I would say it shell be 2 srars. We expected to relax in SPA, but jacuzzi didn't work, neither hamam. I expectet bath clothes and shower gel, but had to be disappointed :( I didn't though that I schould take shampoo as well :(
Review 2:The location is very authentic -calm and closed to nature. The rooms are ok. The beds are really good. the staff is really nice and helpful.
Review 3:The hotel lobby needs an update. It looked drab as did some of the carpets in the halls and the tiles outside the back door. The outside front of the hotel could be decorated in such a way to make it stand out amongst the other well-kept buildings in the village and in keeping with its grand stature of the past. It was sad to see that the elegance of 50 years ago had been allowed to fade.
Review 4:The hotel is located in a lovely little village. Very picturesque. The staff of the hotel were helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were good and as we were there only on Monday and Tuesday the restaurant was not open for dinner. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable. We had two bathrooms. One with a jacuzzi and the other with a shower. The very large windows, and we had three, could all be opened which allowed us a view of the pretty village. The only open restaurant in the village served excellent food. The bar and swimming pool were nicely decorated.
Review 5:Pool was cold, fireplace was not working, phone unusable from room, no restaurant, electric heating system drying the air...
Review 6:Location, bed comfort, staff
Review 7:Restaurant was closed on monday.
Review 8:Swimmingpool, sauna and breakfast.
Review 9:The room was small and breakfast was too expensive.
Review 10:Relaxing day/evening in the Vosges. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful and the room was clean.
Review 11:We overnighted out of season. I can imagine the pool might be a bit on the small side if the hotel were to be full.
Review 12:Friendly staff, lovely indoor pool with jacuzzi, a number of restaurants within walking distance or a short drive away, very good breakfast. Beautiful traditional villages close by.
Review 13:Steam room wasn't working, breakfast room was dated and food selection was very poor. Rooms poorly lit and general state of repair of the hotel was far from 'Grand'
Review 14:Stayed in August 2013. Jacuzzi was a bonus
