Reviews for Premier Inn Barnstaple
Review 1:It was miserable weather and ypu have to walk putside of the accomodation to get to the restaurant area (not far) to have your breakfast etc. The cooked breakfast was not great but you didnt have to wait long. The room was compact but clean and had all the essentials.
Review 2:The hotel staff and most of the restaurant staff were excellen, those that werent may have just been over worked or naturally abrupt they werent rude. The continental breakfast had a great range, good value for money and something for all tastes. The general cleanliness was of a very high standard.
Review 3:Had no choice of bedding and found the duvet very hot and heavy. It sounded like a herd of elephants over our heads at times don't know why the people above were so noisy
Review 4:It was easy to reach my friend in Barnstaple and there was a restaurant for use if we needed a meal . The room was cleaned beautifully each day. Wonderful TV with clarity of picture and ease of operation
Review 5:Restaurant next door was great for breakfast but the evening meal and service wasn't the best People smoking right outside the entrance door x Disgusting in the morning x
Review 6:Room was lovely and just perfect x
Review 7:My free coffee last morning, ha ha they where busy, I was outside with my friend and wanted a coffee quick but had to wait, the staff are all very friendly and helpful, really enjoyed my stay and will be back
Review 8:I booked a room for three adults and reception took three separate payments from us then told us three adults could not sleep in one room. When they agreed to let us have the room it was a disable room. When we complained we were told the Hotel was full.We were very unhappy and left one night early without a refund.
Review 9:Leaving
Review 10:There was just thing i was slightly dissapointed with & that is concerning the breakfast., the bacon was described as cooked to crispy which i was really looking forward to & it really was not when it arrived, no where near., also my fried egg the white was not cooked enough so that put me off a little but apart from that most enjoyable.
Review 11:Our room was absolutely perfect, lovely & clean & the bed so comfortable. We found the staff very friendly, welcoming & most helpful.
Review 12:Paying for wifi. The associated pub/restaurant. Abysmal, slow service. Cold food, vastly overpriced, tatty decor, but situated so far from town there is very little other choice.
Review 13:Reception staff were very kind, we were quickly provided with a heater for our cold room. It was greatly appreciated.
Review 14:Nothing
Review 15:We found the rooms spotlessly clean, very comfortable and easily accessed. All staff members were friendly, polite and anxious to please. Meals were excellent with good choices and served quickly and hot.
Review 16:Restaurant Attentive staff, excellent menues, breakfast superb. Reception very efficient. Ample car parking spaces. Overall will stay there again.
Review 17:Negatives. my husband is a tall person so the bed literally was short he had to sleep with his feet out of the bed or keep them bent. you advertise 29 pounds a night but had to pay 55, the room was cold and fire didnt work and the bath was running so slow i gave up.. but most of all you say if have a problem to speak to the staff after along tiring trip and your in bed who wants to get dressed again to come and to reception and then get undressed to go to bed.
Review 18:the positive thing was that it was clean the staff was absolutely fantastic, and the claniness was very high. parking also was a great asset for people like us who had a disability car so was easy to get to the building. our second and third night was a lot more comfortable thanks to the staff giving us another fire.
Review 19:Didnt realise family room ordered as thought would be bigger would be the same as a double, as only 2 of us as stated was no need for single beds to be made up and make our room small. Didnt like soap dispenser in shower.
Review 20:Comfortable bed, clean bathroom, staff very helpful and friendly.
Review 21:I booked through Booking.com and although my booking was for a family room booking.com had only booked a single room. The staff were great in changing it over. I hope that my next booking through Booking.com will be booked correctly!
Review 22:The room and staff were excellent.
Review 23:The cleaning, very poor. They have not mopped the bathroom floor and I do not think they have passed the hoover in the 6 days we were there. The same small rubbish you saw in the morning in the room in the floor, were in the room in the evening, same in the bathroom and I had to take them out. My daughter slept with a hot bottle water and they made the bed without removing it....
Review 24:The fact that when you turn the television on, the volume was set quite high which could disturb other guests in the rooms around.
Review 25:The staff were very friendly and efficient.
Review 26:Nothing.
Review 27:Impressed with the courtesy and helpfulness of the Staff, and the convenience of having a restaurant next door. Also the very reasonable charge for the room. Look forward to staying there again.
Review 28:Nothing, there was a bit of noise from the neighbouring room at pub closing time but otherwise good!
Review 29:The bed was nice and it was mostly nice and quiet and clean. It seemed a good quality room
Review 30:Shower water pressure was low - barely threw a stream 8 inches past the nozzle - quite a bit lower than everywhere else we stayed.
Review 31:Very nice room in a quiet location. The staff were very friendly, informative and responsive - I inadvertently pulled the call cord in the bathroom and an attendant arrived in seconds. The full English breakfast was plentiful and delicious.
Review 32:Afternoon receptionist was a bit surly (well who could follow Michelle?) and hotel location was initially quite difficult to find.
Review 33:The beds were very comfortable and the perfect height for me - not too high or too low. Excellent big telly. The restaurant had very reasonable prices, good food and was nice and near. Added to this a 24 hour Tesco was over the road so it wasn't our only option. The receptionist on the night we arrived (Michelle) was fantastic. She was helpful and professional and made sure we knew when hot food would stop being served. Let's just say in the short time we spoke to her she did everything possible to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Thank you Michelle! The disabled facilities are excellent. The room is roomy enough for a wheelchair as is the bathroom. And there's lots of storage space if you like to keep a tidy room and a lot of it is at wheelchair height. There's an emergency call bell for disabled solo travellers. Nice check-out time too (12 noon).
Review 34:Lenny Henry may fit snugly in the bed, but there's no way he'd fit in the bath! It's very small and uncomfortable. Also unless you have a mobile, there is no way of contacting reception. Fingers crossed the network doesn't go down. Tea and coffee facilities were barely adequate.
Review 35:Very friendly, helpful staff. Very clean and very comfy bed. Good choice of free tv channels.
Review 36:cobweb over headboard there for duration of stay 7 nights 1/3 of toilet paper for 3 days tissue dispenser empty until I left it open for the cleaners to re fill.
Review 37:staff were polite and helpful also good breakfast.
Review 38:Table Table restaurant next door. Fully booked on the night we were staying. A lot of very annoyed people staying at premier inn couldn't get in.
Review 39:Friendly staff and clean
Review 40:We would have been a bigger group but one or two felt the price structure over the holiday period was a little expensive. I have rebooked for a second week end whereby the cost for an equivalent 3 night stop is almost £50 cheaper which for some retired people is the difference beteen being affordable and not. I would like to know the ceapest the rooms were available if booked at their earliest?
Review 41:The location and premises were at the standard I have come to expect. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Review 42:the room was incredibly hot - no air conditioning and windows that open only about 3 cm at the bottom. we were provided with a very small fan which helped, but still we struggled with the stuffiness and heat.
Review 43:friendly helpful staff
Review 44:there was no shower/hair gel in the shower dispenser provided, and we spent a very uncomfortable night due to the lumpy mattress. we reported these issues to the receptionist who told us that the mattress was due for replacement the following week, and in all fairness did offer us a refund which we declined (that not being the reason we had reported it)we will stay with you again, but can we have Lenny Henrys mattress next time!
Review 45:staff very friendly and helpful, including the pub/restaurant next door, food excellent
Review 46:Noise from movement in room above. Difficulty opening room door. No hot water in the mornings. Menu had food stains. Poor quality food and service from eatery next door. Good quality food available from supermarket opposite at half the price. No air conditioning made sleeping difficult. Only found out after 2 days that WiFi was free next door. Payment was taken at beginning of 3-day stay.
Review 47:Convenient parking
Review 48:I found the couch in the room rather uncomfortable.
Review 49:I like the fact that you can check-in at any time (24-7). I also like the plentiful free parking and the quiet but convenient location of the Barnstaple Premier Inn.
Review 50:The pillows, even the softer ones were to firm for me, so we called in home and got my own feather pillow, then slept well the rest of the week.
Review 51:We were very comfortable, room very good. We live locally and decided to stay there while our bathroom at home was being altered we know that Premier Inns have a good reputation.
Review 52:One guest thought pillows too bulky.
Review 53:Quiet room with disabled facilities had a spacious bathroom and thermostatic shower control. Good food and service in the restaurant.
