Reviews for Burleigh Court Hotel
Review 1:The location of the hotel in 3 acres of land overlooking the Valley was fantastic, the standard king size room was a good size and well appointed, the bed was comfortable, room cosy and excellent shower over the bath with large fluffy towels. The evening meal and breakfast was outstanding-local fresh ingredients used. Staff friendly and helpful at all times. Would love to return again in the summer.
Review 2:Very expensive for basic room Weak pressured shower Not fresh juices, poor breads at breakfast Old-fashioned service a bit dour No wines by the glass and poor list
Review 3:Well located Pleasant grounds and buildings Very good cooking Dog friendly room
Review 4:Not within walking distance to shopping or dining. Steep, Narrow road. 37 stair steps to carry up bags. Due to its historical status (250 years old) windows, doors could not be updated; door frames about 5 ft 10 inches in height and doors did not fit; floor sank in middle of room.
Review 5:Wonderful Staff. Beautiful grounds.
Review 6:£170 for b&b is a bit steep in a room which was nice but nothing special. Equivalent room in Ambleside in the Lake District is only £120
Review 7:Location and the quality of the food
Review 8:Early morning delivery vehicles have to drive past the front of the hotel, which can be a bit noisy if you have the bedroom windows open.
Review 9:Excellent hotel in a great location, very clean and well furnished, with a top-quality "country house" atmosphere.
Review 10:The bed wasn't very comfy, and the heating was set to full blast. For day trips, the closest towns weren't so nice.
Review 11:Beautiful room, fabulous gardens. Wonderful house and the bar etc. were beautifully furnished, and fantastic views. It felt very luxurious.
Review 12:For the price I paid for the room I would have expected a cafetiere with fresh coffee rather than instant coffee in the bedroom. Also a selection of herbal teas.
Review 13:Friendly staff, great location and beautiful building.
Review 14:The hotel accommodation was exactly whet we needed. Ground floor rooms with no steps or stairs. Easy access to all the hotel's lovely facilities. The staff were amazing, friendly and efficient.
Review 15:It needs a refresh on the interior and a bit of investment in the main hotel. Carpets were awful and cheap and didn't match the building, it needs someone with an eye for design and colour to bring up to scratch. The dining room had cheap purple carpet against lovely yellow ochre walls. It jarred
Review 16:The building is lovely and the views over the Cotswold Vally were truly special. It was a romantic spot. The suite we had was very nice with 4 poster bed. Breakfast was good. The atmosphere was nice. Cream tea in the terrace with view was a delight. Setting is very rural and peaceful
Review 17:The location is beautiful. The meals were delicious. The hotel is not large, so we were able to chat with other guests and share travel and life experiences. And on leaving, our car was checked out by a Minchinhampton Common cow.
Review 18:We had a superior room which was a good size but unlike the rest of the house was very tired, in need of decoration, the toilet flush didn't work and the spotlight kept flashing. When we informed the staff they said they new about the problem from the previous guests. So why did they not get it repaired?
Review 19:nice location, peaceful charming staff, beautiful period property
Review 20:I was visiting several villages in the surrounding area and was happy to find such a comfortable hotel, with an excellent restaurant, in an area with relatively little commercial activity to justify good hotels.
Review 21:i am Japanese, and for me, the dinner is not for my taste. be careful if you want to be active on Sunday morning because people came at around 8:00am.
Review 22:great atmosphere, quiet and beautiful. garden is stunning. breakfast is excellent.
Review 23:Amazing location, friendly staff, nice breakfast, good restaurant for dinner, clean room and bathroom. Beautiful garden and grounds.
Review 24:Slightly overpriced I felt. Bed too soft, shower pressure very poor.
Review 25:Being charged 50% more than my friend for an inferior room, booked earlier than my friend . The "swimming pool" is only a tiny plunge pool , far too small to swim in .
Review 26:The garden and the house are pretty , the view delightful , the location very good .
Review 27:Airless bedrooms even with windows wide open......time for aircon installation!!! Bed linen wasn't changed all week.Bathroom soap bars too small. Wine list outrageously priced. Swimming pool and surrounding areas full of leaves most of week. Who was the manager....never met him/her.....never knew who was in charge.
Review 28:The lady who was on duty the day we arrived.....Nicki? was very helpful. Good breakfast each morning. Well located to nearby airfield which was the reason for the visit.
Review 29:I wish they had an elevator to carry suitcases up several flights of stairs--but then that might ruin the 'ambiance'
Review 30:the ambiance and peace of he surroundings and the kindness of the staff
Review 31:The breakfasts were outstanding in every way The hotel is full of charm You feel relaxed as soon as you enter Amazingly beautiful grounds Very good restaurant and bar for a long evening
Review 32:Finding it - we relied on the post code but it didn't take us directly to the hotel - I suggest a warning note of this when customers book their stay
Review 33:The whole experience
Review 34:Nothing really.
Review 35:The staff was friendly, the facilities amazing, the view even better. The room was up to very high standards and the decoration was beautiful. I think it would be amazing for summer escape as well. PS. The food worth every penny at their restaurant.
Review 36:Nothing
Review 37:Location, staff friendliness and the food could not be faulted. Even enjoyed a nice saunter through the gardens that have a lovely view. Really enjoyed our night's stay
Review 38:Difficult to find. Hotel should put more precise info on the website to aid in locating.
Review 39:Peaceful location. Very nice, quiet room. Enjoyed strolling around the grounds. Interesting way to order dinner in the library after having a libation - we had champagne. Excellent staff. The rack-of-lamb that I had was the best in probably 30-years!! I complimented the young chef - after our excellent dinner. Hope he stays on to provide such wonderful cuisine to many, many guests at the Hotel. Breakfast was very good also - with many choices prepared well. Staff very friendly and competent - rare these days. Highly recommend the Burleigh Court Hotel.
Review 40:Food not as good as we expected. Surprising that no hand lotion was provided at a relatively classy hotel.
Review 41:Beautiful location, lovely hotel, helpful staff. Stunning standard fuscias on both terraces.
Review 42:Some better travel directions, perhaps some contact with Sat Nav to enable one to get to the hotel without the stress of almost getting lost
Review 43:We only stayed for one night. The hotel is situated in a delightful area with an ambience of peacefulness but with unobtrusive modern facilities. We will hope to spend a longer stay in future
Review 44:Maybe music in the dining room would be good, although this is an observation rather than a dislike.
Review 45:The hotel is beautiful and the staff were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble. Our room had a fabulous view and was very comfortable, with lovely crisp white sheets. The food was excellent and we would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.
Review 46:Location is quite isolated.
Review 47:Lovely rooms, staff good - Christine was particularly helpful. Village is low on amenities within walking distance, but is very pretty.
Review 48:From the moment we arrived and saw our suite our perfect weekend began. The friendliness and welcome, and the food were better than expectations. Will definately be returning!

Review 83:The food was lovely
Review 84:We are used to a large double bed and found the bed in our room too small
Review 85:Traditional English breakfast. View from bedroom window of the countryside.

Review 93:Everything
Review 94:The road access
Review 95:The staff and the food
Review 96:Peaceful grounds and views Furnishings Room was comfortable
Review 97:None
Review 98:Beautiful view from the hotel but most importantly excellent staff.
Review 99:A really great place to stay in a good location with wonderful views. Excellent food and interesting menu supported by a good wine list. Very comfortable bed.
Review 100:Atmosphere at Dinner and Breakfast boring. No dinner music or background music with people whispering to one another.
Review 101:Location was excellent if one is looking for a top class place in a quiet location, but in reach of many places to visit. The buildings are beautiful and the rural views are fantastic. Easy drive to visit other places in the Cotswolds. Do not miss Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton on Water and Chipping Norton. Dinner and breakfast very good with great service.
Review 102:We would have liked to have gone straight to our table for dinner, rather than wait in the bar for quite a long time.
Review 103:The setting is spectacular and the staff was excellent. We were very comfortable in our room and in the hotel.
Review 104:The internet signal was not good in the room.
Review 105:Staff were excellent, food was great and it was very quiet which was great for relaxing in the countryside.
Review 106:WiFi a little difficult to get. Scrabble pieces were missing from the games section, however this was minor!
Review 107:Personal welcome on arrival. Choice of rooms. Staff in general were polite and very attentive. Room was very comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding. Loved the sherry in our room! Every hotel should have this personal touch. Parking was easy.
Review 108:would have liked a bath. £170 is a lot for a room without a bath. Minor issues re difficulty in filling electric kettle and the awkward position of the basin which I mentionned to staff and which they are dealing with. Felt it would be nice to have a selection of tea bags, both herbal and earl grey.
Review 109:outstanding Location Excellent breakfast Peaceful calm atmosphere
Review 110:the peace.the helpfulness and friendly staff.excellent food- particularly good choice at breakfast- and willingness to make something slightly different if you asked.lovely setting and all round standard of excellence.
Review 111:Would have preferred the fire to be lit as it was a bit cold outside (but not inside). Would have been even cosier!
Review 112:Warm personal welcome. Fantastic food and service. Friendly staff. Lovely room.
Review 113:Slightly cold welcome, no staff around at times - e.g. first breakfast,
Review 114:Food was fantastic, Evening staff on the Saturday were lovely, Room was comfy and homely, bathroom was spotless, shower so amazing, location was lovely, public rooms were great, really felt at home.
Review 115:The mattress in our Premium room (room 2) seems very old and is substandard as it is so soft its like sleeping on a water bed, very squidgy, unsupportive and uncomfortable. The owner/manager who checked us in Sat 15 Feb and checked us out on Monday 17 Feb has odd interpersonal skills. When we gave him compliments about his very skilled waiter on duty on on Sunday evening he just looked at his colleague and didn't seem pleased, it was a bizarre reaction. Having myself worked in the travel industry for 20 years I was shocked at his lack of warmth and intepersonal skills. His favoured expression is to sneer.
Review 116:The waiter on Sun 16 Feb was amazing. The building and views and room were all beautiful and stunning.
Review 117:The breakfast room was so quiet that the silence hurt. I'd suggest some music, as we could hear every mouthful and sniff of the only other people in the room. This room would be great if it would have just have been my wife and I but it wasn't and it felt very awkward for both couples I'd imagine. Odd complaint but valid we thought.
Review 118:Getting an upgrade without asking Lovely roo
Review 119:Bed was a bit hard, but otherwise no complaints.
Review 120:Lovely bar area with open fire. We stayed in coach house which was very quite (big plus) and had a large, deep bathtub, which was much appreciated after a cold day out.
Review 121:There were two problems - one I think the Hotel needs to address and the other, not brilliant but manageable. The toiletries in the room were miserable. If you go to a luxury hotel you expect these to be a luxury and pampering. They were not. They felt mean, stingy and dismissive. There was a problem with water pressure in the basin, but the water in the bath was hot, steaming and always available. Breakfast coffee could be better.
Review 122:All the staff were excellent, friendly, helpful and only too happy to please. The room was beautiful and very quiet despite the fact there was a birthday dinner in the Hotel when we stayed. The location was wonderful, fabulous views. We felt it was the oasis of peace and calm we were looking for. The food was wonderful. - enjoyed every mouthful of both breakfast and dinner.
