Reviews for Millgate B&B

Review 1:Not very much to do in the village but that's nothing to do with Millgate at all

Review 2:The fresh scones were exceptional as was the whole place. Loved it!

Review 3:Sue and Andrew are brilliant hosts. Very comfortable stay and fabulous food, with homemade scones on arrival and freshly baked rolls with the amazing breakfast. Well done!

Review 4:Nothing negative to say at all. They are the top B and B for a reason...

Review 5:Millgate is located on a little road with Masham centre a mere stone throw away, bustling as people arrived for the event, yet was quiet at night. Sue and Andrew were most accommodating hosts - the conversation was stimulating and the food was freshly cooked and delicious. Our room was lovely, bed really comfy and we slept well ready for our day trading at the local Sheep Fair. Our hosts were so knowledgeable as to where to spend our evenings and where to dine out. We will be back again next year!

Review 6:Just a small thing, but as the B&B is so outstanding (hence our 10/10 rating) it seemed worth mentioning: some extra frosting or a blind on the non-en-suite bathroom would have been appreciated.

Review 7:Breakfast was amazing; the full Yorkshire (English) breakfast is outstanding and we were even treated to home-made fish cakes containing Andrew's morning catch! Sue and Andrew were lovely and extremely helpful. The excellent reputation of this B&B is well deserved and we would recommend it without hesitation.

Review 8:We stayed at Millgate for my birthday for 2 nights in August. It was lovely. We had scones in our room on arrival, and I received a birthday card and some truffles which was such a nice and thoughtful touch! :) Sue and Andrew are brilliant hosts, they couldn't do enough to help! Andrew greeted us and showed us to our room, he gave us directions for a nice walk which would end up at Black Sheep brewery. The room came with everything you could think of - spare chargers, alarm clock, torch etc., and a booklet of local menus and things to do which we found really useful! We dined at Vennell's the first night which came with a 10 per cent discount if you mentioned you were staying at Millgate. The breakfasts were really lovely. There were different specials on each day, as well as a standard menu which you could pick and choose whatever you wanted off, there was also cereals and yoghurt if you didn't fancy anything cooked - we really were spoilt for choice for breakfast! We will definitley be staying at Millgate again if we come back to Masham, and we have recommended it to everyone we know! Thanks Sue & Andrew for a lovely birthday weekend! :) x

Review 9:Negotiating stairs in night from our room to our separate bathroom! Would have liked the option of a blind too in the bathroom.

Review 10:Charming, friendly owners, comfy bed and good breakfasts! The homemade scones on arrival and rolls at breakfast were a nice touch.

Review 11:Nothing

Review 12:The house. A breakfast to die for. Brilliant friendly hosts who could not do enough for us. Beautiful village We will certainly stay again.

Review 13:Everything was perfect, Sue and Andrew were excellent hosts. The breakfasts were to die for, specials every morning made a refreshing change. Room was spacious and well appointed, fresh milk in the room twice a day and a chocolate at bedtime, perfect.

Review 14:Easily the best hotel/guest house/B&B we have ever visited. The owners are welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area and the breakfasts are to die for!

Review 15:We loved the breakfast the warm freshly baked walnut and date bread. The breakfast was wonderful. We had a little budgie and they allowed us at no extra cost to stay in the room. We loved the fresh milk in our room and cafeteire and big teapot. The list goes on.

Review 16:Hosts were so friendly and helpful, every detail so lovely including fabulous fresh scones baked by Sue on arrival. Very pretty room, comfy bed, great breakfast, couldn't ask for more.

Review 17:Absolutely nothing

Review 18:The hosts Sue and Andrew make your stay a fantastic experience from the fresh scones and jam on arrival ,to the most amazing breakfasts we have ever eaten. The Millgate is perfectly situated just off the market square ,and our en suite bedroom was a restful haven following a day of local sight seeing. Sue can advise any guest of where to visit ,where to stop and where to have lunch. This b&b can quite rightly say we are the very best in the world. Fabulous two days ,wished we could have stayed longer .

Review 19:Nothing. Every thing perfect

Review 23:Going home!

Review 24:Brilliant first impression, before we'd even got out of the car sue was at the front door to meet and greet us. Extremely polite and welcoming into her home. I would definitely recommend millgate and the village of masham. Thanks for having us. Phil

Review 25:Shower went hot and cold, no privacy glazing/blinds in bathroom. Owners were far too overbearing for our tastes, felt on edge rather than relaxed. Wouldn't stay here again.

Review 26:Comfortable bed, beautifully fitted out room.

Review 27:Comfortable bed, with choice of pillows. Complimentary scones on arrival. Super breakfast, homemade breads. Attentive, sociable and informative hosts. Restaurants & bars/pubs within walking distance. We recommend a stay here.

Review 28:The only addition that my vanity requires would have been a dressing table stool and a brighter light so that I could see more easily to put my make-up on.

Review 29:We had a lovely time at Millgate B&B. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and Sue and Andrew very informative hosts. We spent 3 nights there and nothing was too much trouble for the very attentive couple. I particularly like the chocolates on the pillows at bedtime. Fantastic breakfasts set us up for the day and when we got home we felt that we wouldn't need to eat for a couple of days. Thank you Sue and Andrew hope to see you again next time we are in Yorkshire.

Review 30:Very Small bedroom & bathroom. Towels thin & too small definitely not a normal bath towel size (we are not large people). Bed hard but also very uncomfortable hard pillows.

Review 31:Lovely cooked breakfast & home-baked bread & scones. Rooms nice & warm.

Review 32:- fresh scones on arrival - breakfast (especially the specials!) - owners were exceptionally friendly -location 5+ pubs and 2 breweries - variety of walks for all walkers - decoration of B&B - everything!!! Go back in a heart beat

Review 33:There was nothing that we didn't like!

Review 34:Sue and Andrew are fantastic hosts! Loved Sues homemade scones and bread. The full English breakfast was very nice especially the black pudding! Will be back in the summer! Thanks for a lovely stay!

Review 35:What's not to like about this wonderful B&B in Masham

Review 36:A wonderful warm welcome from Sue and Andrew, we stayed in the masham room, which was very comfortable with a super if not a little snug en-suite. Great wifi connection, lovely food and the location we wanted. Parking not an issue. Sue and Andrew were able to provide a good insight into the area and had walking maps which we would otherwise have had to purchase.

Review 37:Room was perfect, scones on arrival, very nice breakfast, friendly hosts and perfectly situated on the edge of the market place in this pretty little Yorkshire village.

Review 38:Nothing!

Review 39:Fantastic location on the edge of the market square, central but quiet. Lovely rooms with nice touches such as fresh flowers, scones on arrival and fold down of your bed at night. Breakfasts to die for ! Sue is a really excellent cook and the breakfasts were great. There's also a daily special - ours were American pancakes with bacon one day and a special omelette the other. The hosts are really friendly and helpful. Just a cut above most B&Bs you will stay in. We've already booked again.

Review 40:You just know as soon as Sue greets you at the door that you are in an extremely good Bed & Breakfast! Warm and welcoming, she led us to our beautiful room, where the fresh scones were waiting for us. Yes - they are as wonderful as everyone says - melt in the mouth delicious. Everything you need is in the room, including an iron and ironing board, and lovely extra thoughtful touches like fresh milk and bottled water. The breakfasts are amazing - alongside a traditional English breakfast, specials included American pancakes with maple syrup and bacon, or chestnut mushroom omelette with Parmesan shavings! Home made Honey and oatmeal rolls or soda bread await you too. Thanks Sue and Andrew for a fabulous stay.

Review 41:Very warm in the twin room but fan provided on request.

Review 42:Sue and Andrew are the perfect Hosts and can't do enough for you. Breakfast was excellent. Scones on arrival - lovely touch and completely scrumptious. Rooms very clean. Very central location to everything in Masham.

Review 43:Wonderful friendly hosts who can't do enough to make sure you have everything you need, nothing is too much trouble. I have a dairy free diet and there were lovely dairy free scones and a container of dairy free milk taken to our room on arrival also a bottle of chilled water straight from the fridge. Lovely comfortable bed and lots of choice at breakfast, we were even offered trout that had been caught fresh the day before. Everywhere was spotless and lots of little extras you would only find in a large hotel. Can't recommend this highly enough.

Review 44:Everything about our stay was perfect. The warm welcome, the home made scones on arrival, the quality of the food, bedding, towels, etc and all the extra touches - clean cups brought round, little chocolates for evening drinks, marmalade and pumpkin seed rolls freshly baked for breakfast - Andrew and Sue treat you like royalty - and all in the beautiful setting of Masham. A treat.

Review 45:We enjoyed the breakfast - quality produce and the full english perfectly cooked and presented. Specials over our 3 night stay were American pancakes, smoked salmon, freshly caught river brown trout or a seafood tortilla ( Andrew caught the trout allegedly). Everywhere spotless, some lovely touches that make you feel especially welcome. There is lots to do in and around the area and Sue and Andrew gave us all the information we needed. A fabuluos B&B run by lovely people in a lovely area and we will be staying again,if we can get in that is. Ps. if Andrew tells you he caught a 28lb salmon.......a Walt Disney character made of wood maybe springs to mind? Had to get that one in!
