Reviews for College Guest House

Review 1:The location suited me very well, I loved the history of the house and it's decor, and breakfasts. The level of cleanliness was exceptional, and the host very knowledgable about the locality.

Review 2:Nothing bad but guest house does feel slightly dated.

Review 3:The B&B were able to accomodate us for an early check in so we could get ready for a wedding which was fantastic. Breakfast was very good and set us up for our homeward journey.

Review 4:Abrupt owner made us feel like an inconvenience rather than guests. Bizarrely decorated with disregard to the history of the house, bedding and towels not up to standard. Surprised at AA 4 star signage, has it been inspected recently?

Review 5:Fantastic reception by gentleman owner - our little puppy played with the owner's dog and raced around the hall area - all no problem! Extremely comfortable and spacious room and lovely bathroom. Beautiful furnishings and accessories. Directions given to very nice riverside pub, but unfortunately arrived there too late for dinner.

Review 6:Great service made me sandwiches for work. As soon as I came back from working night shift offered coffee and breakfast. Really pleasant. Would recommend this place and come back myself. A few minutes from the town centre.

Review 8:Everything was great! Room was very (very) big, nicely furnished and clean. It felt like we were staying at a very nice hotel. Bed was comfortable and location was easy to find. Right across the street was a big parking space which was convenient. Unfortunately we had tight schedule so we couldn't enjoy free breakfast, but it smelled delicious. I would highly recommend this guest house.

Review 9:I'd requested arriving between 1-2pm, which according to yourselves was agreed. However the owner was rude, saying he didn't remember, and I shouldn't have arrived until 4pm. No apology was forthcoming!

Review 10:The host was informative about walking into town, plus a discount for restaurant.

Review 11:I had a plastic mattress in the twin room which I could feel under the sheet. It would be nice to have some fruit on offer at breakfast.

Review 12:Good wifi and facilities in room.

Review 13:Friendly, family ran business, they looked after us both very well and we felt they became friends by the end of our stay. Breakfast was great and so convenient. Its an old style building but is surrounded by great facilities and is very near town without being too close. Brilliant, thank you, we will definitely visit again.

Review 14:We didn't like that when we handed in our key we said that we hadn't had breakfast because we were not hungry, the reply was well the dag had yours!!! I did think that we would stay there again until that was said

Review 15:Greeted a bit negatively because we were late - 10-pm, having travelled hundreds of miles. I did email depends on traffic. Also - the room was high - in body odour.

Review 16:Superb breakfast. Interesting furniture.

Review 17:The macerator in the bathroom was noisy and we could even hear next doors one as well. The door to the stairwell kept banging which was disturbing our peace and quiet.

Review 18:The breakfast was very nice and the staff were very friendly.

Review 19:Well i knew it was on top of a BIG hill. So I just ate at the nearby pub - Yeoman - and did just fine.

Review 20:A very comfortable quiet guest house. So much to look at - collectibles, eclectic items - great fun.

Review 21:The town is built on a hill which was a bit of a shock when went out for something to eat

Review 22:I found the staff were very friendly and helped out with all of my small requests. The room was just right and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was spot on, although additional toast was offered I could not have eaten another thing. Coffee was nice and hot and all Served by a friendly member of staff. I would recommend here to anyone.

Review 23:Very accommodating with our later than expected arrival. Very kindly provided some cereals for breakfast as we needed to leave before the official breakfast slot. Thanks

Review 24:Walking downtown was no problem, but it was quite a climb to get back! We preferred a taxi for that.

Review 25:We liked the quiet location and the comfortable room.

Review 26:Felt pressured for payment before I even put my case down in passage, but it is fair to say I was very tired so probably made more out of it than necessary but that apart host very friendly

Review 27:Comfortable bed ok breakfast

Review 28:The house could have been stunning as it was Georgian, but it was badly in need of renovation. I think it was overpriced. The shower needed a good sscrub with bleach and the bedlinen though clean was old and faded

Review 29:The room on the second floor was comfortable and clean

Review 30:We connected to wifi on first day but when I tried connecting next morning they had turned the wifi router off ! But stingy I thought!

Review 31:A central location with an old world charm

Review 32:It was quite noisy at night with people coming back from the pub in the early hours

Review 33:The house was stunning and there was a lovely lounge room so you didn't have to stay in your room

Review 34:The heating system has been already switched off, so it was a little bit cold at night.

Review 35:The room was rather big and very comfortable. For staying with my German Shepherd and little baby it was just brilliant!

Review 36:In our room the bed was too short for me, I'm 6'1" and the bed had a footboard. For me this didn't work.

Review 37:Staff pleasant and helpful. Breakfast good. Room clean and tidy.

Review 38:Decor a bit dated, but perfect for a business traveller.

Review 39:Good local knowledge and not overbearing. The dog was lovely. It was nice that they had a lounge area. Gave a coupon for local restaurant. Room was nice and dark, shower clean and there was a place to put my toiletries in the shower.

Review 40:Not much to say about what is wrong- if you like buildings and a stay away this is the place for you - much better then your average chain hotel.

Review 41:The house is grade 2 listed and has a number of interesting features and fittings . The Landlord and his wife are very nice people and go out of their way to help with anything.Havorfordwest is well located for travelling to other parts of Wales and has some pretty squares and streets.

Review 42:Room and facilities were excellent. As my son was taking part in a gala the next day, the owner offered us early breakfast. Much appreciated. Will be back next year.

Review 43:Shower was extremely poor. Very tiny trickle at best so very disappointing. Would ask for a different room when booking next time, or ask questions about the showers when booking. Value for money only rated as fair due to the shower. Otherwise would have been good/excellent. Would have liked breakfast earlier due to reason for being there. Did not feel I could ask this when checking in.

Review 44:Friendliness of staff. Beautiful House. Immaculate - really immaculate. Lots of pride taken in cleaning it. Lounge facilities of microwave / crockery etc. Warm.

Review 45:we were quite happy with our two night stay

Review 46:good location (didn't realise how close it was to town so took the car instead of turning the corner and walking!). Clean, comfortable, very good breakfast and friendly welcome.

Review 47:WiFi rarely works on the top floor of the house.

Review 48:Rooms are clean and beds were good for a night's sleep. Breakfast is well made and offers a range of options.

Review 49:During this stay there was nothing to complain about.

Review 50:The proximitry to the town centre and also closeness to bus services. My stay was made comfortable and relaxed because the staff are welcoming and very professional towards their guests, my room was very clean and comfortable and nothing was too much trouble for Colin and Pauline, the little extras go a long way to making it feel a very relaxed stay. I will definately stay at College Guest House again when in Pembrokeshire.

Review 51:I liked the room and the location - in the town centre and ideal fdor what we needed. The cooked breakfast was ideal - mostly made with local produce.

Review 52:Very dark when you walk in felt very cold not in temperature in the set up , the bed was like sleeping on the floor .

Review 53:In a single room good size and shower room was nice

Review 54:Tea & coffee in room undrinkable I think it was due to the milk?

Review 55:Very clean. Comfortable beds. Like being in a museum with knick knacks everywhere.

Review 56:Big room, Very good bathroom. Located on a hill, but there is a busstop close by. Not in the noisy centre. The leisure centre with a big swimmingpool is next door. Not a real quiet room, we had one on the road side, but not too busy on sleeping hours. Big lounge with t.v. and microwave, plates and cutlery you could use.

Review 57:The pillows and the mattress and the fact that someone else's hair was on the tiles in the shower. They need to stop the doors from shutting too quickly and banging.

Review 58:The house is amazing!
