Reviews for Hotel Hercules

Review 1:what was not so good is that there was only one modern power receptacle in the hotel room, and that it was only powered when the bathroom switch was on, including the lighting and the ventilation fan. I hope they improve this.

Review 2:I liked the hotel manager, he seemed really to be a hotel manager by heart. I arrived quite late by bike, and couldn´t find the hotel (I think it was wrong indicated on Booking.com). But when I arrived the hotel manager met me in his car, searching for me :) A nice person in a lot of ways, really a pleasure being his guest!

Review 3:Family run hotel so very friendly and we were made to feel most welcome. Great value hotel for a short stay in Olympia...and a 10 minute walk to main museum and archeological site. Easy parking beside hotel (end of season). Terrific breakfast.

Review 4:nothing to dislike, all perfect

Review 5:the owners were so friendly and made us feel so welcome. It was very central and as we were travelling around Greece this was a very welcome stop along our route.

Review 6:Old building and forniture, door of the room not closing well, small bathroom

Review 7:Position close to archeologial site, car parking, close to taverna thea in fluida, try it!

Review 8:The TV has a very very limited channel.

Review 9:The hotel is a family business and the owner take care the customers well. It is very close to the bus/train station.

Review 10:All good :)

Review 12:The hotel is lovely in its layout. The people running the hotel are extremely hospitable and helpful! The breakfast provided is delicious. As for the room I stayed in - it was spacious and comfortable with an air conditioner that worked really well. Excellent value for money.

Review 13:Super Friendly and kind staff. when we arrived at hotel, the owner gave us a city map and explained how to get to the Ancient Olympia. Breakfast was great, I loved Greek Yogurt. Room was very clean. there is parking lot in hotel's property. We enjoyed our stay in this hotel.

Review 14:It definitely needs some upgrades and improvements. The doors require new locks and there was no shampoo provided in the bathroom.

Review 15:Very good location and a remarkably relaxed atmosphere. Family-run.

Review 16:Nothing

Review 17:Very agreable contact with the helpful hotel owners, who are making really connection with their clients. You have the feeling that you are welcome.

Review 18:it was very cold on that day, the air conditioning had to work at full power to keep up with that

Review 19:spacious hotel, very central, close to bus and souvenir shops, very quiet, private sunny terrace with views on greenery around, countrystyle touch, good breakfast, friendly & helpful host family

Review 20:I regret not having more time to spend there.

Review 21:Nicholas. Friendly, kind and willing to help. He also let my wife and I take an "olympic" photo which we're very proud to have... An unexpected extra. It's a wonderful place to be at, to visit Olympia. High value (material and unmaterial) for your money.

Review 22:The hotel wasn't easy to find, even in a small town like Olympia. The rooms were not cozy, the bed not too comfortable. The breakfast was ordinary.

Review 23:The hotel is very close to the archaeological site and museum.

Review 24:Room was small, bathroom was small. Shower drape is old. Breakfast was poor

Review 25:Location was great. Just walking distance to the Achaeological site, the musuems and to the shopping strip as well

Review 26:The hotel owners were highly attentive and the accommodations were great. The city is amazing, totally worth the night even though it's really small!

Review 27:Although clearly refurbished (and well-done too) the rooms suffer from traffic noise through the night as the windows are single pane and the main road through the village runs past the hotel. Even with earplugs the sounds of trucks and tractors rattling up and down the hill was considerable. Although it is just one vehicle every five minutes or so it is a very intrusive noise as the place is otherwise very quiet.

Review 28:This is a family run hotel with few rooms and you felt close to real Greek life. The owners are very nice people. Parking immediately outside the hotel

Review 29:The hotel was not easy to find even in a small town like Olympia.

Review 30:A lovely little two-storey hotel close to the shops and within easy walking distance of the archaeological site. Plenty of parking space.

Review 31:Rooms were a bit dated and the beds weren't the most comfortable.

Review 32:The staff was very nice, always asking if everything was to or liking and checking that we had everything we needed. They even offered us complimentary fresh orange juice and coffee. The hotel is right off the main road and the bus stop was just down the street. A great value.

Review 33:Excellent location for seeing the sights. The room was clean, and breakfast was lovely. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived- everyone was very friendly. Fantastic value for money.

Review 70:Good basic hotel without frills but good value for money. Location fine for town and ruins. Friendly staff.

Review 71:We were close to the historical sights and walked right to it. Then we got good diections from our hosts for a driving tour to a spa.

Review 72:Wifi a bit hit and miss

Review 73:500 m from the museum and ancient site. Ver close to centre and the restaurants.

Review 74:The air conditioner did not work very well and it got hot in our room.

Review 75:Fantastic, and really helpful owner. Great local breakfast. Good localization close to the center of town, and not far from main turistic attractions.

Review 76:Very close the Ancient Olympia site for visiting. The owners went out of their way to get the Wi-fi working and to supply an extension cord for our room. Fresh squeezed Orange Juice in the morning from their own oranges was a plus.

Review 77:The wifi was out during my visit, but the proprietor was very apologetic and explained that the router was broken and he waiting for another to come from Athens (Olympia is a tiny place). I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on this..

Review 78:The hotel is located about a 5-minut4e walk from the ruins. Tiny shower, but otherwise very comfortable and spacious room. The proprietor was very kind and provided fresh-squeezed orange juice at breakfast.

Review 79:The bathroom was awful, my child was scared to take shower there. The room was too small; the breakfast was too basic. I'd not recommend to stay at that hotel to anyone who prefers even a minimum comfort.

Review 80:The location was very good, very close to attractions. The staff was welcoming and helpful, but that is all what I liked there.

Review 81:Well-situated hotel run by a Greek family. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Wonderful breakfast make from the local products. Close to archaeological site.

Review 82:The owners were very kind and they invited us to sit and have tea with them by the fire when we arrived. They made us home made orange juice every morning. They let us use their cell phone to contact a friend of ours who lives in Greece. The hotel was very close to many good restaurants, such as Orea Elleni, and also very close to the archaeological site.

Review 83:Lack of telephone in room and no bar fridge.

Review 84:Location was ideal, only 500 metres from the Museum and the archaeological site. Close to restaurants and cafes.

Review 85:Our stay at Hotel Hercules was excellent. This is a friendly family run hotel and they take very good care of their guests. The breakfastthey furnish is good too. They also have convenient parking. We would stay here again and we recommend this hotel to others. We rate it a 10. Le Hotel Hercules est superb. Le petite déjeuner est excellent et le patron parle tres bien francaise

Review 86:I don't really have any negative remarks about the Hercules Hotel. Very satisfied with my stay

Review 87:Very nice Hotel. Location right in the heart of the beautiful little town of Olympia. Family owned, friendly, service minded, and very good price. The owner even serves orange juice from his own orchard.

Review 88:If you want to visit the Olympia site I would recommend staying in the nearby town (forget the name) and just catch the daily bus as there is nothing more to do in Olympia and all the food etc is tourist prices ie a rip off.

Review 89:WiFi excellent, great location for Olympia site.Friendly owner

Review 90:Room. Very small bathroom. Well worn decor. Smell of stale cigarette smoke.

Review 91:Friendly owners. Lovely freshly made orange juice. Good basic breakfast.

Review 92:No elevator, no phone in the room, no English channel, average breakfast. Low and not very warm water pressure

Review 93:Very close to bus station, train station, museums and archeological site

Review 94:No fridge which would have been nice but we only stayed two nights so not a huge problem.

Review 95:We had a corner room with a newly renovated ensuite with a good sized shower. Clean, reasonable sized room. Furniture may be dated but I don't find that a problem - beds were comfy for me. Corner store across the road and a church (we had ring side seats to a wedding), walking distance to archaelogical site. For the price, this hotel was very good.

Review 96:Everything was good!

Review 97:The staff were so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice, served in a lovely cafe on the main floor. The room was basic, but comfortable. Internet and air-conditioning worked well. Hotel is nearby many cafes, and close to the entry for Olympia ruins.

Review 98:- nothing remarkable

Review 99:- very friendly and helpful staff - fantastic position to visit the site of Olympia - very good value For money, also the breakfast is ok

Review 100:Great cordial welcome and very nice staff. Excellent location. Excellent breakfast . Room and bathroom are simple but comfortable and respectable. The best natural orange juice and bread which we have eaten during our holidays in Peloponnesus.

Review 101:lack of hot water in shower

Review 102:excellent breakfast, outstanding central location just off main drag, opposite church, very comfy bed, nice balcony, little traffic, very friendly manager.

Review 103:General cleaning ok, but could be improved. Internet not reliable in rooms but ok in lobby. Not a big issue as you will be there to see the sights not sit in your room!

Review 104:Location, helpfulness and friendliness of staff. Location in the village very good with easy access to shops, restaurants and historical site.

Review 105:Everything was perfect.

Review 106:Everything was fantastic. Our rooms were comfortable, the air conditioning worked very well, and the location was perfect. This was our favorite hotel during our 1 month spent traveling in Italy, Greece, and France. Nicolas was friendly and even recommended ways to save money at other hotels, gave us complimentary orange juice and encouraged us to sit outside and hang out with him and his wonderful family. We wish we would have booked more than two days here. We miss it already.

Review 107:The owner and his wife were very friendly and helpful with informationabout what to see and do in the area. Lovely breakfast with freshlysqueezed orange juice. And the best part was the recommendation as towhich route to follow to our next destination; saw some lovelytraditional villages that most tourists would not see!

Review 108:The rooms were quite old. The door from hallway to the room squeaks when opening, it might disturb other travelers sleeping. But it did not bother us.

Review 109:We arrived very late and the owner waited for us and could not be more helpful. The breakfast was good, we were also offered fresh squeezed orange juice.

Review 110:The beds were a bit hard and the decor in the room was 'tired'.

Review 111:The owner of the hotel was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was close to tavernas and shops and was within easy walking distance to Ancient Olympia and Museum. The breakfast was excellent, especially the fresh orange juice!

Review 112:Nothing really. It was all good. Some folk might want a little more cushion on the bed. I like my bed firm with extra pillows which were provided

Review 113:Staff very friendly. Breakfast very good with eggs cheese coffee, etc and ESPECIALLY FRESH SQUEEZED ORANGE JUICE!!! The owner has a farm with fresh eggs oranges olives. He is very helpful about touring ideas and he gave us oranges "for the road" Loved the timbered ceiling in the room We were there on Easter Sunday eve and joined the candlelight procession through the town

Review 114:The breakfest was poor, the blankets was terrible for my allergies, the mattres wasn't confortable (mine was kind of nclinated) andthey didn't cleaned our room. Worst of all when we was checkingout they used an old credit card machine and broke my card!! Finallywe payed in cash and went out with a terrible impression and 3 piecesof my credit card.

Review 115:The staff tried to be friendly, but personnaly it disturbed me a littlebit because he was always approaching us and trying to makeconversation, like 4 or 5 times in a day (maybe because we were the onlyhosts in the hotel).

Review 116:Great family atmosphere. Breakfast offered fresh farm eggs and orange juice produced on the landlord's farm. Lovely hosts... keeping the business going in difficult times.

Review 117:The facility is outdated and shabby and would need urgent overhaul. Thestreet is very noisy and would be more in a more touristic period.

Review 118:The proximity of the archeological sites, and of the city center whichapart from tourist lures offers poor entertainment. The manager and wifewere very friendly, he speaks well french and readily changed ourbooking dates. The breakfast is quite good.

Review 119:Church bells were a little loud at 7am on a Sunday morning but that is probably the case for most hotels in town!

Review 120:Great location - in the centre of Olympia. Great breakfast and nice reception from the owner.

Review 121:Breakfast was quite good, especially the freshly squeezed juice. Excellent location for the site of Olympia. However, the hotel is in need of renovation and smells of cigarette smoke.

Review 122:Great location, friendly and attentive staff, and American style shower!
