Reviews for Bryncelyn Guesthouse

Review 1:WiFi was temperament at particular peak hours but I think that was to do with poor booster in the area same goes for some mobile phone network

Review 2:Simply brilliant

Review 3:There was nothing to dislike, and the only advice is to book at this b&b and visit the town.

Review 4:The proprietors are very charming and hospitable. The property is pleasant with good sized and well-equipped rooms. My particular room did not have a bathroom, but a perfectly pleasant one was situated across the landing for my sole use. My request for an early breakfast was no problem. The little town is perfectly charming, with pleasant locals and - on this autumn Saturday - a surprisingly "buzzy" atmosphere for its size and rural location.

Review 5:Nothing at all.

Review 6:A very friendly welcome on arrival, we were very well looked after, till our departure . Lil was a fantastic host, and the breakfast cooked by Lil & Malcolm was fantastic, eggs cooked to perfection. Lil recommended where to visit, without this information we would have NOT seen the many beautiful sights that we did.

Review 7:Nothing at all

Review 8:This guest house is a little gem, relaxed, clean, breakfast is amazing and the owners Lil and Malcolm are lovely people you certainly won't be disappointed

Review 9:attic bath has low ceiling can't have shower. or poke your head through velux window and enjoy Welsh countryside while having a shower. or just run a bath.

Review 10:location,friendly hosts, comfy bed, clean. cant fault it

Review 11:Fantastic guesthouse but a little remote

Review 12:Lil - she was really welcoming, helpful and friendly, would recommend this guesthouse. Bottles of water in the room, excellent touch!

Review 13:The whole experience was superb.

Review 14:Excellent welcome and made to feel really at home. Nothing too much trouble. Was given an excellent snapshot of all options for dining out within walking distance.

Review 15:A group of family and friends stayed at Bryncelyn whilst we were in town for the Bog Snorkelling Championships and it has everything that you could want from a B&B - cozy and clean rooms, an amazing breakfast, and lovely, powerful, hot showers (perfect after a day of bog snorkelling!). The location is perfect, right near the centre of town. What really makes this place so special is how lovely the owner Lil is, and how nothing is a hassle. We had our 2 year old daughter with us and she organised a travel cot and high chair with no fuss. There is also an honesty bar to grab a drink from at any time, plus milk fridges for your tea, everything has been thought of. It is the second time I've stayed here and the staff are just so lovely I'm sure I'll be back.

Review 16:Lovely guesthouse very friendly. We arrived late and the owner came out to help us park asked us had we eaten and directed us to a lovely little bistro. The breakfast was beautiful freshly cooked with lots of extras. Our room was spacious, very comfortable and the bedding luxurious. Plenty of tea, coffee, hot choc ,bottled water even fresh milk. One of the cleanest places we have stayed in everywhere was spotless. Altogether fantastic will stay there again definitely!

Review 17:Talk about value for money. Great room, very comfortable bed, cooked breakfast first class. Owner very helpful made me feel very welcome and gave me lots of advice and motorcycle routes! Fab location Very friendly town which was awesome as I was travelling alone great for motorcycling to and from or around. Thanks soooooooo much.

Review 18:The room we had was large, bright and well equipped and furnished, and had a lovely view of the charming town square. It was very quiet but only a half a minute walk to all the pubs and restaurants and local shop. Lil and Malcolm the owners were wonderful, and Lil was the salt of the earth... a lovely lady. Breakfast were plentiful and freshly cooked with a great variety. There was a always plenty of hot water. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Review 19:Shame the wi-fi signal didn't appear to reach our room. Not a big issue and possibly it may have been available on the ground floor.

Review 20:The room was very comfortable and quiet. Good to have a shower and bath option

Review 21:The wifi signal wasn't very strong in our room so we had to go downstairs to use it.

Review 22:The staff and service were great. We were made to feel so welcome and comfortable. The place was clean and breakfast was lovely.

Review 23:draft coming through the window in the bedroom which camera around the closed curtains and to the bed. Bathroom was down the hall and not in the room, but those were only minor details, the bathroom down the hall was lovely and warm and well presented.

Review 24:Location was great for us, ideal location to explore wales, and the town is small, but has everything you could need

Review 25:Everything was great. We stayed in room 7, lots of stairs but worth it. A lovely large room with two rocking chairs by the windows looking out over the town and the hills. Great new shower since we were here last as well. Lil is fab and breakfast was 5*.

Review 26:The welcome from Lil was warm and friendly and room 5 was very comfortable with a good ensuite. Bryncelyn has a very relaxed atmosphere which compliments the town. Breakfast was excellent and should not be missed! It is freshly cooked to order and surpassed most experience in many hotels. Thoroughly recommended!

Review 27:the owner is nice lady from Ireland, very welcoming and genuinely taking care of her guests. After spending all rainy day outside we didn't want to go anywhere once arrived to the hotel. We were offered to use lounge area for the rest of the evening, we also brought some food and the lady kindly warmed it in microwave and provided plates for our dinner and anything else we needed. She also found some toys for our little one to play, very nice gesture. The room was in good condition, spacious bathroom, all shower amenities provided. Guests can help themselves with extra teabags, coffee milk and sugar in case ran out of supplies in the room, small detail but very convenient. There was a fridge in lounge area filled with beer, small bottles of wine and soft drinks, all very reasonably priced. Breakfast was cooked individually for each guest as standard to all B&B. Internet did not work well and also there is no Three network coverage in the area. It wasn't a major issue for us, just something to advise other travelers. Overall very good stay, will definitely stay there again if visiting the same area.

Review 28:A bit tough negotiating the luggage up two flights of stairs.

Review 29:Accommodations were good value. Owners were very friendly and helpful. In-suite bathroom was very large. Breakfast was excellent.

Review 30:The stair to the top floor is a little steep.

Review 31:We booked a quad room which is in the top floor. It is actually a lovely attic. The staff is really nice. They even allowed us to use their kitchen to cook some simple food for dinner. There is a self-service bar downstairs. You grab the drink you want and pay the money into the box. The price is reasonable.

Review 62:Lovely warm welcome! Well furnished, large room. Excellent breakfast.Fresh milk in a jug in mini fridge on landing a really thoughtful touch! Will stay again,

Review 63:We found the staff extremely friendly and willing to talk and listen. The breakfast was very very good, and the option of the use of the honesty bar very useful, so we could stay inside the hotel for a drink without having to go out of an evening.

Review 64:The Bryncelyn Guest House is a gem in mid Wales. Welcoming hosts, Lil and Malcolm, excellent breakfasts, super clean accomodations, sightseeing tips and pronunciation lessons for Welsh words. What more could you ask for? In the village other amenities include pub meals or fine dining experiences for lunch or evening meals as well as a laundromat. Arrive as guests and leave as friends!

Review 65:I hated having to leave.

Review 66:I loved the welcome. Even though it was my first visit, Lil made it seem as if I was a regular. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was second to none and kept me going for the day. The room had colour tv and tea/coffee making facilities.

Review 67:would have prefered a shower in the en-suite, but that did not deter from our enjoyment.

Review 68:all round very nice guesthouse. owner and staff were friendly and helpful. will certainly go back.

Review 69:I booked there to go to Wonderwol and do some sightseeing.I stayed there 6 nights.A great place to stay: cosy , comfortable, clean , nicely decorated and good value. The hosts were wonderful, ready to do anything to please you and make you feel at home.I will definitely go back there and highly recommend it. The town is nice with traditional pubs.

Review 70:The tiny town was very quiet in the middle of winter, but this was notsurprising.

Review 71:We were greeted enthusiastically by Lil, who was very welcoming andfriendly. The rooms were large and comfortable, and very good value. Itis an excellent base for exploring the scenic countryside of Wales.Cathie, Australia

Review 72:We loved the friendly welcome, the comfort and attention to little details that makes all the difference. We will definitely stay there again as it will now feel as though we're visiting friends.

Review 73:The beautiful designed accommodation, facilities, delicious breakfast and the location. We also had a very friendly welcome would highly recommend Bryncelyn, will definitely return !!!

Review 74:There was nothing to dislike

Review 75:The room was very clean and comfortable , small touches like fresh milk available to make tea was very much appreciated , made to feel welcome and at home , breakfast was fabulous!!

Review 76:All excellent

Review 77:Room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Good breakfast and very friendly host who went out of her way to make sure our stay was comfortable. Would stop again when in the UK.

Review 78:Vary nice hotel ideally situated for seeing Rally Wales. The staff were very accommodating of our late arrival and early start, including serving us a cooked breakfast before we left.

Review 79:Firstly the gracious and chatty owner and hostess and her partner who cared for us with loving care. Then the delicious english breakfasts in the morning and hot oatmeal. Then the comfort and coziness of our room. And finally the beauty and charm of the village where the B&B is located noted as the 'smallest town' in wales. And the beauty of the surrounding nature of the countryside.

Review 80:There's nothing I didn't like about Bryncelyn Guesthouse

Review 81:Everything was delightful. Lil and Malcolm are very hospitable. It has a warm, friendly environment. The rooms are well maintained and very comfortable, and Lil maks a good, hearty breakfast. It's beautifully located to some great walks and only a short walk from the river and some good pubs and resturants. All in all it's great community and i found the whole town very welcoming. I'd happily come again.

Review 82:We stayed in the Attic, which was perfect for a group of us on a budget. It is like something from the Borrowers though - you have to be happy to either hit your head a lot, or crouch! It was good quirky though, and fun for a group of us! Very clean, and the room is spacious. Lil was lovely, and made us very welcome. We will definitely stay there again.

Review 83:Parking on the driveway, just be aware that if you want an early start you may need to ask other guests to move their cars - or park on the road.

Review 84:Warm welcome from hosts on arrival. Everywhere spotlessly clean and comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfast, very good value for money.

Review 85:Really friendly and welcoming atmosphere, lovely room and Lil had loadsof local information about walks, things to do, places to eat etc. Allset in a beautiful unspoiled region of Wales in a picturesque town -could not ask for more - Thank you so much!!! :-)

Review 86:There's really nothing to complain about - just that there are a total of 6 heaters scattered around the room and bathroom, which can warm up the room really quick! That's definitely a blessing in winter, but much too warm for the spring/summer season, so remember to switch all of them off before going to bed.

Review 87:We absolutely loved our stay there; it was just a one-night stopover on our way back to England, but the host was friendly and really helpful (especially in recommending a good dinner place nearby). The room was very big (much bigger than what our other guesthouses offered), with comfortable beds and a big ensuite bathroom as well. Everything worked perfectly (the heater worked perhaps a bit too perfectly), and was very clean.

Review 88:Shower cubicle very small in en-suite bathroom. Towels far too small.

Review 89:Spotlessly clean. Room was warm, tastefully decorated.Pleasure to be in. Very friendly staff/owners.Well cooked breakfast, very tasty. As much tea and coffee etc.as you wanted available in room.

Review 90:It would be nice if they offered evening meals as the landlady is obviously an excellent cook.

Review 91:Wonderful breakfast,Friendly and accomodating owner/staff,scruptiously clean, good location, off street parking made available, useful information and advice from landlady re area, comfortable bed and good quality bedding and towels. All in all a very nice experience.

Review 92:Very impressed with Lil the owner, she couldn't do enough for us. Would definately reccomend Bryncelen and will be staying there again next time we visit family nearby.

Review 93:Limited parking. Needs a larger mirror and shelf for toiletries in bathroom. Doona needed to be a little wider.

Review 94:Charming, friendly, hospitable hostess. Very comfortable room. Great breakfast. Good value for money. Easy to find.

Review 95:Lovely host. Couldn't be more helpful. Clean and tidy. Roomy. Booked the attic room for 3 but was given 2 rooms instead to save us a walk up the stairs!

Review 96:Very friendly owners, clean. They upgraded our room for free as the more expensive room was not being used, however I had a look at the other rooms and they all looked great. Awesome breakfast, room to park. We will be stopping there again in the summer if its available. Other guest houses/hotels should stop here to see how it should be done.

Review 97:Some rooms have their bathrooms down the hall (although each room does have its own)

Review 98:Very clean, friendly staff, great breakfast

Review 99:Welcoming and comfortable, thank you.

Review 100:Lil was delightful. A lovely welcome and a great breakfast.
