Reviews for Beechwood Guest House
Review 1:A very pleasant stay, John & Jayne were very friendly, kind and helpful. Excellent location, only a 10 minute walk to a good selection of pubs and restaurants.
Review 2:Lovely old building so the room was a good size. It was very peaceful but plenty of places to eat and shop in the town. The breakfast was delicious, not a huge choice but better to have the best quality produce which was served in a lovely dining area overlooking the garden. The hosts were welcoming and professional. Our pet dog was also very comfortable.
Review 3:The full English breakfast had about 6 different items. My husband does not like black pudding, baked beans or fried bread. I only wanted scrambled eggs with sausage. Since we didn't like everything I think we should have been given extra of the things we did like. My plate looked very forlorn with just 1 sausage and 1 scrambled egg. My husband feels that they should have at least offered him another egg or a ration of bacon.
Review 4:It was nice and clean.
Review 5:My wife and I spent 2 nights there. The proprietors were warm and friendly. A nice and comfortable guest house. A great location for what we needed (Tom Jones Concert). And a good breakfast to start the day. Had a nice time in Market Rasen. The Bistro up the road was great too. Would highly recommend this guest house.
Review 6:It's not that I didn't like more of annoyance. There were no extra pillows on hand. But I'm sure if asked I could have got one. They are strict at arrival time Arrived early so had to drive around till booking in time
Review 7:Consideration for climbing stairs. Huge breakfast , also will cater for individual needs,if I formed in advance.
Review 8:The Staff, their attitude and work ethic was nothing less than Spectacular. Even when I made a mistake in booking, they came up with the solution. Food Good, layout easy to relax in. Career hospitality professionals and it shows.. Thank you again
Review 9:Loved the hosts, the room and the breakfast was delicious. Very accommodating. Would have no hesitation in returning or recommending this establishment.
Review 10:could hardly climb stairs and owner watch me climbing with difficulty but never offered me alternative ground floor room as there were rooms free
Review 11:not as good as previous stays
Review 12:I'm afraid that we were not impressed by either the toilet or shower in the en-suite. The former was incredibly noisy whilst the temperature of the latter varied significantly during the shower, freezing one minute and scalding the next (we suspect as water was drawn, or not, elsewhere in the building). Market Rasen itself is, perhaps, not worth too long a visit!
Review 13:The location was good for what we needed, which was an 80th party just outside Market Rasen.
Review 14:In a few years the owner will be verging on becoming Basil Fawlty. When he saw our dog [although we had told him about our dog when booking] he looked at her with distaste and started a very grumpy tirade about a previous guest with a dog and we had only just arrived ! He should not judge all dog owners on one bad experience. We think he should not allow dogs as he clearly does not like them and we felt quite uncomfortable in the way that he looked at our dog. He told us in a very grumpy way that he had had to spend £500 on doing up a room that a dog owner had had for a £200 pound let. We were also told that our little, very well behaved, clean Westie should only be allowed to eat outside. He did not seem as if he wanted to run a guest house or cook and serve breakfast - it all seemed to be done under sufferance. Stay here only if you don't have a dog.
Review 15:Good location and safe parking. Nice room and good shower although bathroom was rather cramped. Excellent cooked breakfast and an excellent recommendation for an evening meal at a pub called Aston Arms just 10 minutes down the road. Brilliant food with hard to believe cheap prices and they allow dogs.
Review 16:It's within a 10 minute walk of the Market Rasen shopping street, but the road it's on is quiet at night. Plenty of room for off-street parking. Nice view of the gardens from the dinning room. The room was spacious with on-suite, TV, and free secure wifi. Food and service was excelent and they do packed lunches if you need them.
