Reviews for Quebecs

Review 1:Absolutely nothing... It's too lovely to not like

Review 2:Design and space of our room was stunning. Amazing friendly and lovely staff. I would love to return again and shall definitely inform others of the excellent rooms and staff

Review 3:Only two breakfast tea bags in the room. It would be nice to have fresh milk in the fridge instead of carton milk.

Review 4:We booked an Executive Room and were given Room 105. This room is extremely spacious and comfortable. The L'Occitane toiletries and bathroom were fabulous.

Review 5:Only minor quibbles! Damp patch on ceiling. No desk light and desk chair too low to work at.

Review 6:Very comfy bed and pillows. Good shower and lovely shower gel. Quiet despite being next to lift.

Review 7:No car parking! We were given a map of where to park but wasn't easy to find so ended up parking somewhere else and walking back to the hotel, which wasn't too far but a bit of a pain

Review 8:Great location for the city centre and shopping. Hotel was very clean and the room was spacious. We were upgraded to a suite which was lovely. The food was very good, we ate in the bar and both the service and food was great. Very friendly bar man who booked us a taxi.

Review 9:Breakfast not included in the price.

Review 10:Room was beautiful, didn't want to leave! Had all amenities needed and perfect location for shopping and eating out. So good I booked again.

Review 11:The taps in the bath room were very stiff and hard to use. Outside bins were being emptied at 4.30, 6 & 7 in the morning which woke us up as they were extremely loud. The receptionist advised they were aware of this and had applied to the council but it was still ongoing, which ruined our sleep. (We had hoped for our 1st night of full sleep since having a baby).

Review 12:Great location, very grand and the room was large. The bathroom was luxurious and modern.

Review 13:Sink drain blocked. Revolting. Bed was a bizarre pull out bed from the wall. Creaked and moved everytime I moved. Room boiling and air con so noisy. Once I'd worked out how to turn it off it made a clicking noise every 8 seconds. Staff were not interested in my complaint and only took a minimal amount off my bill. So disappointed as it was an anniversary treat .

Review 14:Close to the station and city centre

Review 15:The only thing is the hotel does not have a restaurant. There is a restaurant underneath but it is not connected to the hotel and is very busy. They do serve breakfast which was excellent and they do provide in room and bar meals. But no restaurant for formal sit down meals.

Review 16:We went in December small car park with first come first served but managed to get in. The hotel was excellent the staff couldn't be more helpful. We went to the bar and the member of staff was brilliant he made drinks on request the atmosphere was excellent.

Review 17:Took me a while to find the mini bar price list

Review 18:I loved the room. We upgraded for an extra £10 an we are so glad we did. The large windows and character of the room was impressive! The bed was comfy, the bathroom was large with a large bath and L'Occitane toiletries.

Review 19:Surly staff at breakfast, very clipped conversation, no smile, unaware of surroundings outside of the hotel, unable to give directions, even to "the light" which is a couple of hundred yards up the road.

Review 20:Location & comfort of the room

Review 21:Lovely quiet room and very helpful staff We parked up and the Receptionist came and got our luggage and instructed us where to park as parking is very limited in the Leeds City

Review 22:Fair bit of road noise and bottle bins emptied just outside.

Review 23:Excellent staff and efficient welcoming check in. Super comfortable room and splendid cooked-to-order breakfast. Outstanding bed.

Review 24:The food was average, the chips were frozen and nothing appeared to be homemade as stated. The bar had minimal to offer.

Review 25:Lovely building and room, with beautiful features.

Review 26:Nothing, everything was perfect

Review 27:Everything! This is a truly beautiful hotel, friendly helpful staff, great location, super soft towels, could not fault it

Review 28:The heating in the suit was broken I phoned reception and they sent someone to the suit who pressed some buttons and couldn't get it working so disappeared. 2 hours later I phoned reception again. The duty manager came up to say they had someone working on it but had sent out for electric heaters. the staff managed to get it running but it didn't last long. Freezing at 2 am makes for a very uncomfortable stay. Shame that this managed to ruin our stay. On check out I mentioned the issue again which was met with an apology. At £265 per night and apologies don't really amount to much.

Review 29:Location was brilliant. Staff are very friendly. The food was great and reasonably priced. The suit (kitson) was nice but cold.

Review 30:Unable to access room due to electronic key not working, several hours before fixed. Would have expected some form of management intervention and apology. Poorly lit room, headboard on bed creaked when moving, humming outside of room window. Room did not have the feel of a 4 star hotel.

Review 31:The location

Review 32:We didn't like the very small room on the top floor with sloping roof in bedroom & bathroom, good job we aren't tall!! Thankfully only there one night.

Review 33:The staff were very friendly. We managed to secure a car parking space. Nice fluffy towels in bathroom and toiletries. Tea making facilities good, slippers, robes, comfy bed etc.

Review 34:Pillows too soft and room too hot. Bag piper playing on front step was very annoying and there was a function taking place right outside my room.

Review 35:Room was lovely thpugh, lots of space and spotless. Decor lovely too. Staff were great.

Review 36:We were originally put in a disabled room next to a lift . We asked to move and the room we were given was tiny . Could barely move around . Nowhere to put anything Went to bar when we came back from night out no atmosphere and no cream to make liqueur coffee . Stayed in lots of hotels in Leeds and this one would be bottom of my list

Review 37:Location to city centre Powerful shower

Review 38:Unfortunately we stayed in one of the rooms facing onto the street. Noise from street was excessive. the rooms which are usually excellent, we thought the carpets were tired and worn and not clean.

Review 39:Stayed on previous occasions. Location and breakfast and usually the rooms

Review 40:The above

Review 41:We had trouble with the lights , they discounted the parking but my wife was woken twice during the night as they came on at random. The keen receptionist was intent on trying to describe detailed traffic issues but failed to let me know about how to exit the car park.

Review 42:cramped bathroom. Road noise. cost of breakfast = 1 sausage. 1 tomato.1 hash brown.Bacon. £15.25 No normal teabags in room.

Review 43:The bed was superbly comfortable.

Review 44:The girl on reception mentioned the price we had paid for the room about three times! I didn't think this was very appropriate as I booked it for a surprise for my wife's 50th Birthday.

Review 45:Breakfast was very good, the room excellent

Review 46:My room was very comfortable though at the front so there was a little traffic noise from the road below but not intrusive. The bathroom in my room was equipped for disabled guests and I applaud the hotel offering this although it seemed a little incongruous with the luxurious room.

Review 47:So close to the centre and train station and yet pretty quiet and very luxurious boutique hotel. Superb breakfast.

Review 48:SLightly noisy due to city centre location but mitigated by thick curtains. Afternoon tea not quite as advertised but very nice anyway.

Review 49:Room and bed incredibly comfortable, good shower and nice toiletries. All staff encountered absolutely charming. Very good breakfast.

Review 50:Beautiful rooms with lovely extra touches like fresh apples and mineral water. Good quality towels and a very comfortable bed with soft fresh cotton sheets. The wifi was a bit hiccupy but this was incredibly good value for the quality of the room and a two minute walk from the station which was the purpose of the trip. I would definitely choose this again.

Review 51:The air conditioning was not working and the room was very hot, the staff were extremely helpful and we were given a discount.

Review 52:Lovely room, great breakfast.

Review 53:Room was ready late. Thermostat was set on 16 degrees so room was really cold when we came in from night out

Review 54:Room was ready late and they gave us an upgrade. Room was freezing when we came in from night out. Staff helpful and gave us a heater

Review 55:Check in and out was very slow, staff seemed to ask a lot of questions, a member of staff in the lift asked us our surname (strange), and bedroom number for no apparent reason! Our bedroom was on the main road and the secondary glazing panel was missing from the bottom window which made the traffic noise quite loud.

Review 56:The bed was very comfortable, a good spacious bedroom and bathroom was clean and modern with a powerful shower.

Review 57:Slightly too warm in the conservatory when eating breakfast but nothing that could put us off the delicious food!

Review 58:Stayed here for my boyfriends birthday as a surprise, it was absolutely beautiful and the staff were fantastic! Had the nicest weekend here- it's now our favourite hotel :)

Review 59:Nothing

Review 60:Central location Excellent staff service Continuity... We have been guests for the past 10 years with the service /facilities remaining the same with improvements noted every visit.

Review 61:a little noisy, we had the ground floor room and the laughter from the reception could be heard during the night, also the flapping flag outside due to the high wind

Review 62:fabulous building and great customer service ethic

Review 63:Location is excellent - just two minutes walk from the train station. The hotel has just a handful of parking spaces in the alley next to it which can be used for a fee (£15 when we stayed). Looks slightly dodgy at first glance but it is secured with barriers and proved to be very convenient.

Review 64:The excellent central location means that Quebecs in on a road that gets busy from early morning and my room was at street level at the front of the building so a bit noisy. It was busy at breakfast admittedly but they ran out of items such as croissants by 9am. Maybe they could have planned this better?

Review 65:My room was sumptuous. Really lovely and more far luxurious than I could have hoped for the price.

Review 66:Humming noise below room 204 and slight vibration . Fluff balls underneath bedside cabinets . All flat pillows

Review 67:Lovely old hotel good location friendly staff nice to know it was not a large chain hotel

Review 68:I chose Quebecs primarily for its great location, less than 5 minutes walk from the station. The room was spacious and well appointed, excellent bathroom with a huge rolltop bath and lots of hot water. The staff were great and very helpful- I called them from the station 15 minutes before my train left to say I'd left my phone charger in the room. They found it and had it waiting for me in reception in less than 5 minutes, so I was able to collect it and catch my train.

Review 69:Rooms are dated - and in need of some refurbishment Stayed there a couple of years ago and felt it was better then. Paid £175 for one room was was totally over the top for the room.

Review 70:Location is excellent and the bar man was very good

Review 71:Great staff. Beautiful building. Comfortable, spacious rooms (we chose Executive on the back of the building, to distance ourselves from any street noise) Delicious breakfast.

Review 72:The fact I only had a brief time to enjoy my stay as I had to leave for the airport early the next morning.

Review 73:I was caught in a hailstorm as I walked from the station to the hotel. The staff were very accommodating and offered to dry my coat etc. The manageress, also, very kindly, upgraded me to a lovely room with a terrace.

Review 74:we had a lower floor room that over looked the bin storage/back lane, one of the rear properties had a very loud extractor fan operating late at night.

Review 75:very good staff, room was very large with lovely decoration and very comfortable bed.

Review 76:Room a little small-would have preferred a king-size bed.

Review 77:Fantastic location and very helpful staff. Beautiful old building with lots of character. We would definitely return.

Review 78:Beautiful quirky building. Nice sized room, classy decor, great shower, everything immaculate, very quiet at night. Nice touches like the l'occitaine toiletries and ironing board and iron.

Review 79:Car park full (and no pre booking), had to park at railway station, entry to which was very busy. De luxe room not worth the price! Have stayed in better.

Review 80:Location great. Breakfast very enjoyable and reception staff efficient and polite.

Review 81:The TV in the room was too low for my liking, making it difficult to view whilst having a lie in. Also some light bulbs were out when we arrived, and though they were quickly replaced it's the kind of detail that should have been sorted by housekeeping.

Review 82:Super friendly staff, reception could not have been more helpful. Cosy bar, beautifully comfortable beds and spacious rooms. Fantastic central location, yet safe, calm and quiet.

Review 83:Parking is extremely limited (5 spaces) and so you have to use on road parking or a local car park. Bit frustrating

Review 84:Nice room, great position, friendly staff

Review 85:Room next to road Continental breakfast choice quite limited Having to leave card details in case I used mini bar when I refused was told I may not be able to check in even though had already paid for room, had too leave cash deposit

Review 86:Location to shops and station Large room Able to leave luggage before check in time and after check out

Review 87:Most of the Staff were great and were helpful. The Robinson Suite was amazing lots of space, one of the best rooms I have stayed in. Beautiful wooden beams on the ceiling.

Review 88:Nothing we would stay again.

Review 89:Fabulous location for the centre of Leeds, the room was very clean and tidy and the toilet/shower/bathroom was spotless.

Review 90:This hotel is right on the door step of the train station, but don't let that put you off. The staff make you feel very welcome. Special thanks go to Sheila and David :0)

Review 91:Noisy air con.

Review 92:Not one of those "you could be anywhere" hotels. It has character and charm. Quality bed, l'Occitaine toiletries, real coffee, nice bar where they know how to make a martini!

Review 93:I wanted to check out early and the lady at the reception was quite rude and nosy. I had a fall out and a change of plan but I didn't want to tell her my business. She really wanted an answer from me as to why I was leaving early which I thought was unnecessary.

Review 94:The bed was comfy and all the facilities were top notch!

Review 95:We were left complimentary champagne in our room. We didn't drink it on the first night but left in the fridge for the second night. Unfortunately it was removed before we could drink it! It transpired that it was left in error. We just think that as the hotel made the mistake it would have been better form to have left it rather than remove it!

Review 96:Everything - except the champagne incident!

Review 97:The room I was given was so close to the road that the traffic noise made it impossible for me to sleep, EVEN WITH EARPLUGS. I'd asked in advance for a room high up but I was told none was available so I was given a room that was unfit for purpose. I made the staff aware of my concerns about the traffic noise, before trying to sleep, and after a sleepless night, was offered a %15 discount on a room that was useless for the purpose I was paying for. It's a nice hotel, but they shouldn't be charging over £100 for rooms that are too noisy to sleep in.

Review 98:Lovely building, friendly staff.

Review 99:We were there during the Rugby World Cup and they worked overtime to get us a taxi to the stadium quickly after our train from London was delayed. Love the stained glass up the staircase, the high ceilings in the rooms and the easy access to great restaurants.

Review 100:This is a warm and clam hotel. It is only 3 minutes away from the train station and the central which is full of shopping malls, shops and great restaurant My room was nice and big I would like to send a big thanks to Oliwia, she was very helpful and welcoming with anything at all

Review 101:Problem with parking they would not let us out of the car park with voucher given by the hotel and had to ring the hotel 3 times sat in the car waiting to be let out!! Other people were having the same problem!!! Do not think the room was worth the cost at all! Was going to book my son and his girlfriend in for Xmas but will look elsewhere!!! Was very disappointed as it was a treat for my partners birthday, the apples in the room were tired! Will not return!!!!! Regards Kim WHAT WE DIDNT LIKE!!!!!!!!

Review 102:No remote for television. Very noisy in the morning with road noise. Only 2 complimentary coffees for £205.

Review 103:Hotel was to a high standard and The suite was great.

Review 104:Breakfast could be better. Pastries seemed stale. Again waitress was really helpful and hot food was good.

Review 105:Staff are friendly and helpful; Location is excellent

Review 106:Sadly I was in room 210 this visit and the traffic noise (even with secondary glazing) kept me awake until the early hours.....

Review 107:l'occitane toiletries, slippers and dressing gown, biscuits, tea ,coffee, fruit and water all in room price.

Review 108:Room was cramped in the roof - 503 Cold water tap mixer was broken in bathroom - asked to resolve issue and then reminded them a second time. Not resolved but managed to get cold water out by beign advised of a different method. Lack of space difficult for ablutions and getting ready to go out etc. Cracked floor tiles in bathroom.

Review 109:Location - in the heart of the City so a short stroll to all facilities Quebecs is in a beautiful building Friendly, helpful staff

Review 110:Good location, lovely staff, comfy bed, dirty bathroom, annoying sink that you have to hold plug whilst sink drains and rooms styled like a business travellers wet dream....from the 90's. Wouldn't call it a boutique hotel at any level but not unreasonable value for money

Review 111:TV in sitting room was not working when we arrived, carpet in the bedroom was stained and the tables in the sitting sitting room had sticky glass or cup rings on them where they had not been cleaned.

Review 112:suite location & layout, lovely sitting room in the turret, huge bathroom with both shower & bath very comfortable bed

Review 113:Noise from the traffic outside, but maybe this doesn't apply to all rooms. Room hot, and unable to control the temperature owing to being unable to open the window due to the noise of the traffic even with the windows shut, this was still very loud. No restaurant for an evening meal .

Review 114:Room was beautiful, really nice furnishings, spacious and the bed was fantastic. Excellent internet, and good tea and coffee making facilities in the room, nice TV, good choice of programs, beautiful building close to central Leeds.

Review 115:Reception staff curt and dismissive

Review 116:Caroline on the staff was very helpful and friendly Beautiful lobby staircase and stained glass window well worth seeing

Review 117:Put up in the attic (5th floor), room very small & poor natural light, roof slants, taking up a lot of room. Room very warm despite AC. 5th floor to be avoided!! Bed sinks into middle & way too soft.

Review 118:Location, a short stroll to shops & restaurants. Staff @ reception & bar very friendly. Lovely big fluffy towels, bathrobes & slippers provided.

Review 119:The bed had a 'roll together mattress. And being in the eves of the hotel rendered half the room useless to my 6ft husband.

Review 120:The shower was amazing f

Review 121:The room was not very good quality, carpets were stained and so were the curtains. Turn down service was only carried out 1 day out of 4. Breakfasts were poor not much choice.

Review 122:Location was great. Size of room was good. Staff were good.

Review 123:1st room next to lift and kitchen 2nd room ground floor cupboard noisy with traffic and guest and staff !!! Paid lot of money to celebrate my birthday here !! Honestly it spoiled my birthday !!!!

Review 124:Been before loved it hence why we went back

Review 125:No gym but thats the only negative.

Review 126:The room was excellent anyway but we was offered an upgrade to deluxe for a small fee. We were made to feel very special& the staff were brilliant.

Review 127:The first room we has 402 had too small and soft a bed and the pillows were too large for comfort the second room 408 was perfect.

Review 128:It was so comfortable and I liked the different areas we could sit and meet.

Review 129:The bar at night was very poor, don't expect to leave the bars of Leeds for a drink back at the hotel. The staff member was on his own and knew nothing about the bar when claiming to serve cocktails etc..

Review 130:The staff were very friendly, made our stay very comfortable. Very clean and close to the centre of Leeds

Review 131:Breakfast listing confusing with no croissants. Hardly any chopped fruit. Couple we travelled with were given a disabled room which we did not ask for. Hotel brochures need updated as we were looking forward to a open sightseeing bus tour and reception said they no longer run these.

Review 132:Location near station. Restaurants near. Helpful staff.

Review 133:Parking on site a bit tight but it was quiet during our stay so not a problem.

Review 134:Pillows were just as I like, deep and soft. Slept well on the deep mattress.

Review 135:Very disappointed with room and en-suite size after all the promoting of large areas. Stuck up in Attic room with Air conditioning units going on till 2.00AM

Review 136:Friendly polite staff

Review 137:1. No soap or toiletries were provided! (had to ask at midnight). Just an oversight. 2. The bill got my name wrong. A bit slack. 3. Please tell the ever so slightly dour young lady on reception that 'Not a problem' is not an acceptable reply to 'Have a nice day'! 4. Worst, some bugger banged on my room door at 3.45am, woke me up and I never got back to sleep. I think they were from, or wanted, the room adjacent. VERY annoying, but can't really blame the hotel if one of the other guests is a drunken idiot

Review 138:1. Very central location. 2. Very good price. 3. I asked for a downstairs room and an actual bath, and got both; thank you. 4. Fab lovely old building (And just to be clear: I neither used the wifi nor took breakfast, so can't comment on those)

The Fine Print

Please note that parking is on a first come, first served basis.
