Reviews for Ling House Bed and Breakfast

Review 1:The owner made us very welcome, on our arrival we were offered tea/coffee and a lovely piece of cake. The room was well equipped with everything you could possible need. The breakfast was delicious and offered plenty of choice.

Review 2:Could do with a bit of sound proofing... could hear everything in the corridor and some things from the other room. Also lots of laughing from the kitchen area downstairs. Fortunately everyone was quiet by 10.30/11 but could see this being a problem if some people are early/light sleepers. I wouldn't give a poor review purely on this point. Street lighting is an issue in the village, so walking to the pub was a bit hairy at times and made finding the B&B tricky in the dark.

Review 3:Lovely, clean room with a fantastic view. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Tea and cake on arrival and a hearty breakfast in a cozy dining area. Very close to the pub and not far from Bolton Abbey and Skipton.

Review 4:The shower was difficult to work and not very powerful (I couldn't get the temperature right), but you can't have everything. The corner bath was great, so more than happy with that.

Review 5:What a fantastic B&B - full of character. It was homely and warm. We received a great welcome and a very welcome pot of coffee with beautiful lemon drizzle cake - perfect after the drive up! Charlie was a great host and left us to our own devices after ensuring we were happy with everything. Can't fault the room we were given. Had everything we needed and was spotless. Great little torch on the outside of the room, which helped guide us back over the dark bridge coming back from the pub. Excellent breakfast the following morning, cooked to perfection. Was given plenty of choice! Looking forward to booking again when the weather warms up. Highly recommend The Old Hall Inn further up the road for food too. Not too far to walk back from - had a great night away :)

Review 6:My Husband and I would highly recommend the Ling House Bed and Breakfast, the beautiful house, the clean and comfortable rooms. The breakfast was just the job and nothing too much trouble. We will definitely be back, keep up the good work.

Review 7:Charlie & Jayne were the most welcoming hosts. They couldn't do enough for us. Extremely helpful when describing the local area and cannot fault Charlie's local knowledge. Breakfast was very hearty, delicious and plentiful and to sum up, we will definitely return to Ling House in its beautiful setting!!

Review 8:There was nothing to dislike.

Review 9:We where made to feel very welcome. The owner helped to carry my bag to the room. Showed us how to work the tv and shower. Then made us a lovely tray of tea and cakes. Never had that before in a B&B. The breakfast was plentiful and very delicious. Would highly recommend this place to anyone. Would definitely stay here again.

Review 10:Beautiful guest house, the owners can't do enough to make sure you have a good stay. Even gave us a lift out in the evening. A rare gem of a place with such attention to detail.

Review 11:Nothing to dislike at all. You are not only paying for a wonderful B&B but the experience of staying in a 500 year old house. Priceless.

Review 12:Everything to like. Charlie and his wife run an exceptional B&B.

Review 13:Shower in the front room is very hard to master. Didn't have a comfortable shower - either too hot or too cold. However there is a lovely big bath if you have time.

Review 14:Perfect host, very kind and attentive. Gorgeous cottage and surroundings.Lovely room with a massive bed. Will stay again!

Review 15:Charlie went the extra mile to make sure that our stay was everything we hoped it would be. We will recommend Ling House to family and friends.

Review 16:Absolutely nothing.

Review 17:Attention to detail is beyond anything we've experienced. Simply wonderful. Couldn't fault it. Very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The little details such as DVDs, magazines and cakes & pot of tea on arrival take it to another level. Good pub within walking distance, Grassington only 5 mins away. Beautiuful room and view. The rooms are finished superbly. The whole place has a great atmosphere. One can feel the history. Highly recommended.

Review 18:This is a delightful place, a beautiful farmhouse that has been in the owners' family since it was built 500 years ago. We had a nice room and a wonderful breakfast. The owners were delightful and eager to share their knowledge of the area. Please note that Google Maps gets the location slightly wrong. It is on the east of the B6061, just to the south of the small stone bridge. Goggle Maps puts it on the west side of the highway and north of the small bridge, about a 100 meters off

Review 19:water temperature was a little difficult to control in shower - but not impossible - a mere trifle .

Review 20:Great breakfast . Little cake selection on our return late at night from a wedding reception. Host was friendly and helpful.

Review 21:Tea and cake on arrival; host was incredibly helpful, ranging from an offer to collect us after an evening meal to providing excellent local knowledge.

Review 22:Really enjoyed our stay & Charlie was great looked after us really well very knowledgeable on local attractions & served a great breakfast. Will stay here again on our next visit to Yorkshire Dales.

Review 23:Fabulous B&B, would highly recommend to anyone. Charlie was a very good host, catering for me, a vegetarian coeliac with a wonderful breakfast of gluten free cereal, yoghurt, lovely bowl of fresh fruit and scrambled eggs on gf toast! Room was very comfortable, had a great nights sleep.

Review 29:The rooms were perfect, the hospitality and food were excellent. The views the peace and quiet made for a fabulous break. We attended a wedding during our stay, we were even given a lift... would highly recommend.

Review 30:The room was clean and comfortable with everything we needed for a short stay. Free wifi and a spa bath were a bonus. Charlie, the host, is a mine of useful information about local places of interest and where to find good food and fine ales. He also cooks a fabulous breakfast!

Review 31:Nothing!!

Review 32:Charlie was preparing our room when we arrived, early as we requested, he offered us tea and showed us around. We declined tea as we'd just had a drink but he brought some very delicious biscuits for us any way. The bed was super comfy with lovely bedding, so much so I asked what kind of duvet it was, I was told it was a brand new duvet able to regulate your body temp.... I've just been and bought one of my own! Breakfast was fantastic, full English was perfect! Also local knowledge and info for walks etc was useful. So nice... Would definitely recommend and return. Many thanks!

Review 33:Everything was perfect but being welcomed after a long day's walk with a pot of tea and large slices of gorgeous home made lemon drizzle cake made our day! We were also sent on our way with lovely home made biscuits which topped up our energy very nicely the following day.
