Reviews for MJB Harewood Drive
Review 1:There was a bath but no shower :( I wanted to go earlier or leave later next morning but no one answer the calls or email. I just got an automatic email with the key code but I would have appreciated someone in person.
Review 2:Cheap if you go 3-4 people and not too bad if you are going to stay more than 1 day. Close to the town centre.
Review 3:No cups at all- not one. No teabags at all. Insufficient bedding. Since the property is not a hotel but a single flat on an estate, there is no-one to help.
Review 4:It was a very old ex-council house, cold and in a dark cul-de-sac. We didn't stay the night as boys refused and said they would rather sleep in the car. It was airy and unwelcoming. Very disappointed.
Review 5:Nothing
Review 6:On arrival not at all what was expected. Location dreadful, accommodation a dirty looking end terrace in a grotty street. Garden overgrown didn't appear to have curtains. Wasn't prepared to go in or leave car unattended. Didn't stop.
Review 7:Absolutely nothing
Review 8:The "Apartment" is an upstairs ex council maisonette. The downstairs occupents have visitors until 4am, cars pulling up, doors banging, we thought people were knocking on our door but it was for downstairs. One bedroom has black masking tape completely covering the window, bare floorboards, stains on chairs, hot and cold water taps fitted the wrong way around, I could go on....AVOID!!!! I would have rather slept in my van, I would have felt a lot safer!!!
Review 9:I liked absolutely NOTHING about the whole place!
Review 10:Unfit for human habitation. Unsafe, bare wires, hot water labeled cold, faulty fixtures on radiators, no smoke alarm, bloked fire escape, back garden used as a over grown rubbish tip
Review 11:Nothing it's dangerous and unsafe
Review 12:Bottom sheets didnnt fit beds. Car parking was a nightmare became blocked in most days. Hard to find. Location was confusing as didn't realise it was kings lynn not Hunstanton. Rough area. Car was damaged while parked up with scratches.
Review 13:Value for money. Helpful staff. Large accommodation. Clean. Comfortable.
Review 14:it was filthy we booked two nights and only stayed on because we had to as we were so tired. we would have stayed if the bedding hadn't of been clean though, i would never return and wouldn't recommend anyone going.
Review 15:the idea of the place was brilliant, and the bedding was clean which was a shock
Review 16:When opened door a bit of a sweaty smell but once opened window and sprayed smelly it went
Review 17:Close to town, got car parked every night Very spacious, very warm
Review 18:The accommodation was dirty, crockey, cutlery and microwave dirty.Bathroom definately not up standard. Photographs on bookings.com did notreflect the unit at 18 harewood drive. The supposed charge of £15 forparking on a public street is beyond comprension. Anyone who books hereneeds their head read. Very dissappointed that booking. Com stillsupporting mjb properties.
Review 19:Nothing!!!!!!!!
Review 20:Unfit for animals nevermind a family with small children. Unsanitary. If this apartment is an example of all MJB's apartments then they are unfit for business.
Review 21:Boiler didn't work and I was asked to turn off by the wall and turn back on again socket was hanging off the wall and I was ignored when asked if the boiler could be seen to so had no hot water for 3 nights .
Review 22:Sheets not ironed didn't fit bed no parking no answer to text messages trouble getting in kettle on top of microwave dangerous no shower and only a sachet of shower gel left not enough crockery never again
Review 23:Being in Kings lynn
Review 24:Area of apartment , parking limited cul de sac , no mirror and bathroom sink taps are on wrong ,needs updating.
Review 25:Good value , spacious , really what do you expect for the price so tweaking could get much more appeal,.
Review 26:I put down I had disabled person and when we got there the a coma data on was up stairs. The property coated for 4 people only had 2 cups 2 glasses and 2 dishes other than that we managed.
Review 27:Plenty of space central location
Review 28:Place was dirty and bare, taped windows instead of curtains. Not enough crockery for four ppl and the stuff there was disgusting. staff were incredibly rude on the phone and very unhelpful, threatening to put the phone down when we had a complaint. Would not stay again!!
Review 29:The list of rules and regulations including a potential charge of £15 for not registering a car despite it being a public road. Lack of a fire alarm Intermittent hot water
Review 30:Great location Clean and comfortable property Quiet Exceptional value for money
Review 31:VERY hard to find, in a horrible little road with no parking - was lucky we were in a small car, even then we had to park down another road and walk up with all our bags!
Review 32:I did not like being emailed the wrong information. I didn't like not having any hot water. I did not like going into an untidy property. I did not like having the blocking living down stairs knocking at the door kicking of because water had leeked from the bath through to his property
Review 33:All was disgusting , not clean , old food in microwave , cutlery not washed , problem with parking , when we call the emergency nr to help us they answer talk with the neighbors , because there are not free parking and we was blocked and we can't go out
Review 34:It did smell of damp and the blinds need replacing. It just needs freshening up and decorating.
Review 35:It was clean and warm , you get what you pay for , cheap and cheerful
Review 36:Location - awful!! Might have been ok if I had been told it was a private house in a residential area and no car park. I was expecting an apartment complex. Perhaps the summary on the web should be a bit more accurate? Very worried about leaving the car in the road as the area did not look very safe. The apartment was very cold when I arrived as the boiler was turned off. I was not comfortable about turning on a gas appliance without guidance.
Review 37:Plenty of space; comfortable furniture and bed; reasonably quiet; very hot water; nicely decorated - simple but functional. Would certainly use again now I know what to expect
Review 38:Neighbours downstairs loud until 5am, rustling noises under floorboards, no dishcloth. Basic amenities, poor parking. As an estate agent would say vibrant area
Review 39:Didn't like much parking awkward
Review 40:The second apartment absolutely stunk if stale tobacco. I mean really stunk. Every room. The sheets must have been on ages as must the pillows. We are not snobs but expect to sleep in clean bedware. We were going to get a takeaway and eat in the flat but the smell was just so bad. We decided that it would be better to drive back to our own home. Dreadful place. Shame after thinking what great service we had had.
Review 41:The bolier was on the blink so we phoned and as they could do a quick fix offered us another apartment.
Review 42:There was not shower but only two small sinks in bathtub (old english style) so it was impossible to take quick washing...
Review 43:Its really nice place to stay with a few friends for meeting for a day.
Review 44:Top floor council flat, couldn't park in the same road, garden an absolute mess, given wrong code, freezing inside, no heating, rang a very rude man who said he would get heating fixed but on new years eve couldn't give a time. Had a 2 and 4 yr old with us, when we said it would take 24 hrs to heat up even if he could get someone out so we were going home, he out the phone down on me! Send several emails and no reply. Appalling.
Review 45:Had the wrong key code, had to ring for help and some lighting for dark nights would help. Heating/hot water not on, text but no answer. Smelt damp, probably as heating off for a bit.
Review 46:Easy to find, sparse but efficient would describe the apartment. Was parking but not allocated to pot luck.
Review 47:Stinking of damp, no handle on inside of bathroom, no shower, sockets coming away from the wall, tv that randomly fuses itself, and it smelled really bad (worth mentioning twice).
Review 48:Warm, on-street parking, cheap.
Review 49:Not clean. No carpets in some rooms. No shower. Stains on one of the beds. Tv that didnt work. Handle broken in loo. Single glased. Not all radiators worked.
Review 50:Only 20 minutes walk into town
Review 51:Dirty bed linen stained and smelt, dirty towels and stained, horrible smell like wood preserver on landing, out side very untidy, the last 2 pictures are the only ones that relate to this property
Review 52:the location
Review 53:the towels offered were a little threadbare, so better to bring your own
Review 54:15 minute walk into town from the flat the central heating worked easily. the bed linen was ok.it had a fridge and a tv and 2 double bedrooms. Its purpose is for contract workers( probably construction), but we needed it for 1 night to see a band in town. And it was good enough
Review 55:Stairs should have a door at the top .. No shower available .. Just not clean not enough glasses cups plates cutlery.. No parking
Review 56:Not a lot
Review 57:No shower, and dodgy boiler
Review 58:Cleanliness
Review 59:No heating. Only hot water No single mirror
Review 60:location is good

Review 87:Leaving
Review 88:On arrival, there are no lights outside the flat. Its in a very darkcorner of a cul de sac so you'll need a torch/mobile for light to workthe keycode to get in. There was no light in the hallway lamp, so we hadto enter and climb the stairs in pitch black, then feel round the wallsuntil we found a working light switch. There was no window in thebathroom - it was completely gone! Took several calls to get hold of mjb& they couldn't fix it until morning, so the apartment was unsafe allnight as anyone could've climbed in the window. We wedged a chair underthe bathroom door for security. Window was replaced the next day with adirty piece of wood with toilet roll stuffed round the sides to hold itin place!! Odd that many of the windows are blacked out, then werealised its because the windows are set low - so rather than, as bylaw, replace them with safety glass, they've just covered everything insticky back, black plastic. You'll need lights on during the day. Theapartment is generally dirty - the bath/toilet were clean, but floors, sink, cutlery, mugs, plates etc were not - take cleaning stuff with you!I know this is a cheap option and have no problem with basic, but issafety and cleanliness too much to ask? Horrible, dark, dingy, dirtyplace. Pay a bit more and stay somewhere clean/safe. Shame of it is, ifthey actually cleaned the place up properly and invested a tiny bit ofmoney in lightbulbs, decent pillows and towels and made a bit moreeffort with their customer service, this would be a much better place, get good reviews and they could charge an awful lot more for it!
Review 89:Its a big apartment, lots of space. The beds were reasonably comfortableand the sheets were clean. The pillows are pancake thin however, as arethe towels - although they were clean. Huge fridge, although its verynoisy, my partner couldn't sleep.
Review 90:i found it really difficult to find harewood drive apartments, your map could have been much better, i had to ask in five separate shops before someone new where thy were.It was dark when i arrived and had trouble punching in the access code,i had to use the light on my mobile phone to see the numbers. When insidethere was no information on how to turn the heating and hot water on i managed to find it but others my not, other than that all was ok.
Review 91:the price was good
Review 92:First of all - don't expect comfort for the price! Basic needs are met, but: (1) Prepare for finding the place not very clean. Towels & bedclothes are ok, but generally it's not a very high standard. (2) There is no shower in the bathroom - just a tub and hot & cold taps. (3) All windows are covered with black foil (!) - you'll have to switch the lights on in the middle of the day! (4) No cooker - just a microwave, electric kettle + various plates, crockery and cutlery (better wash before use).
Review 93:Price - it's probably the cheapest accomodation I've ever had in Europe. It's also quite spacious and there's a microwave oven in the kitchenette, two TV sets, big table with chairs, sofa... It's also a good location for exploring this part of Norfolk coast, especially if you have a car. A quiet neighbourhood, few minutes drive from a large commercial centre. It's just a 20 minute drive from the world famous Snettisham Bird Reserve!
Review 94:The garden was a bit unkempt but then again we were not living there so it made no difference really. I am just being honest.
Review 95:I booked this apartment in haste and then read some very negative reviews so I started to panic. My fears were all unfounded. The apartment was very central to King's Lynn. Parking was available directly outside of the front door. There were three bedrooms with double beds in each. The bedding was clean. A working T.V. was within each room and also a radio. The bathroom was a good size and in clean condition. Clean towels were available in each room. The kitchen was adequate for a short stay. The central heating was on in each room and gave out very adequate heating. Above all the apartment was very economically priced and we will definitely stay there again when visiting relatives in Downham Market. Also we were sent an e mail giving us the pass code to the door so I don't quite understand why other guests had a problem with gaining entry. Well done MJB
Review 96:1 - Needed torch to see keypad 2 - Cleanliness of apartment - needed to wipe surfaces down and bathroom - didn't use any crockery etc because of condition. 3 - More suited to backpackers - not families
Review 97:Nothing - apart from the price
Review 98:There was a prominent stain on the carpet in the living room dining area. There was no mattress protector or pillow covers. There is no hob, or food preparation space in this property, the microwave and a very small fridge were placed on the floor.
Review 99:This is a basic apartment but is is good value for money, comfortable bed, clean bedding and easy walking distance to town centre. The apartment, particularly the bathroom and toilet were clean and everything looked newly decorated. Good for overnight or short stays in area.
Review 100:Terrible experience. Was not aware until we arrived that to gain access to the apartment there was a door code. Sat outside the apartment for 30 minutes waiting for a reply from MJB telephone number. zero customer service and no parking as stated!
Review 101:No hot water, no cooking facilities besides a microwave. No contactwith anyone, besides a phone number, when I called they didnt ring meback , only sent a messgae with the combination to get in. Very basicand cheap.
Review 102:It was cheap and spacious.
Review 103:Fridge in the Kitchen is very noisey!!!! A Teatowel would have been a bonus, could'nt find one to dry up my dinner stuff
Review 104:Location of property was just as required.
Review 105:dingy unkempt exterior with cobwebs blocking the main entrance.upon opening the door no lighting.managed to grope up steep staircase and fond lights, blown bulb bottom of stairs(replaced with one from spare room). kitchen/dinette windows blacked out with fablon.cups had tea stains in, in main bedroom one socket was loose on wall and interior door handle was broken. free PRIVATE parking was outside in narrow cul-de-sac.
Review 106:comfortable bed
