Reviews for Longueville Manor

Review 1:A little far out from St Helier and the walk in not particularly pleasant.

Review 2:Ambience was very relaxing. Rooms very tastefully furnished, quiet and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food excellent in the restaurant and cocktails made by Sammy in the bar were superb!

Review 3:A couple of small items were not auctioned as requested but this was possibly due to a misunderstanding.

Review 4:Warm helpful staff in all sections of the hotel. Very comfortable room, well appointed. Cuisine was outstanding for all out meals. They marked my wife's birthday, over dinner with a birthday plate and gift.

Review 5:Only thing was nothing else around hotel, walk into St helier took 20 mins, but a taxi back was only about £6 so to be fair walk in and cab back.

Review 6:The staff make the hotel, so friendly, nothing a problem, food was out of this world, quiet room, bed to die for. Best hotel yet!

Review 7:Nothing bad...everything perfect!

Review 8:This is the most fabulous place we have ever stayed. Breakfast was fantastic and the dinners superb...service beyond expectations

Review 9:Breakfast not cooked properly, inadequate choice. Dinner, overpriced, poor selection, not cooked properly Dated and needed bringing upto current 4 star standard

Review 10:Pleasant gardens

Review 11:None really but perhaps seeing a dog in the dining room wasn't quite right.(owners I presume)

Review 12:The staff were all very friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble.

Review 13:If we had to make any comment the price of the wine was unnecessarily expensive.

Review 14:From the moment you arrive you are looked after by professional staff who are obviously enjoying their jobs. There are so many attentions to detail that is so impressive. It was my husbands birthday and the added touch of homemade sweets on a plate saying Happy Birthday plus a marvellous present at the end of our evening meal completed a perfect day. The grounds are impeccable and the staff are happy to guide you around the kitchen garden and answer any questions.

Review 15:Water pressure in shower was gentle but it would have been nice it it had been higher pressure.

Review 16:Beautiful hotel, lovely flower arrangements, the staff are very professional and friendly.

Review 17:Locations not perfect. A good walk into town and not much close by, a hire car is more necessary than we'd thought.

Review 18:Incredible attentive staff. Public areas, restaraunt, bar just gorgeous. Room not enormous so would upgrade next time. Would highly recommend.

Review 19:No dislikes.

Review 20:The service at Longueville Manor was superb and the food and the room which was a free upgrade to a deluxe was excellent. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and we couldn't have done it any better.

Review 21:A rather dull walk into St Helier. Take a taxi!

Review 22:Hotel staff provide fantastic levels of service. Rooms spacious, well appointed with comfortable beds. Beautiful property set in lovely grounds. Great food and a comfortable bar area removes the need to venture outside of the hotel.

Review 23:absolutely nothing everything was perfect

Review 24:The staff, food rooms atmosphere everything about this hotel was wonderful. Nothing was to much for the staff. The new beauty room was amazing and I had the best pedicure I have ever had

Review 25:Spa treatments were expensive. If they were more reasonable I think more people would use them. I use a loverly spa at home gel nails cost me £25, but at Longueville they are £47. Some treatments are priced ok some far to expensive.

Review 26:Everything!!! Staff were amazing, room was excellent, food(breakfast) was also excellent, we had a fabulous stay and can't wait to go back.

Review 27:The bath in the centre of the room. Sitting on the sofa and trying to look out at the lovely garden felt odd with a load of white plumbing in centre gaze!

Review 28:The staff were excellent and food fabulous.

Review 29:a little pricey, but you pay for what you get Check out took 30mins - shame

Review 30:fabolous warm welcome friendly staff arrived early - not a problem, kept bags safe for us breakfast - out of this world grounds - delightful pool - v warm, funny to 'swim with ducks'

Review 31:Our room, albeit beautifully furnished and everything thought of was far too warm. Even with both windows wide open the room was too warm. It was over the kitchen I think, which may or may not have resulted in a hot room. Incredibly quiet though just too warm!

Review 32:We liked the attention to detail and how everything happened instantly - but without a big fuss - it just seemed normal and expected. Pedro was a joy and made everyone smile. The food - just fabulous.

Review 33:I can't complain about anything and I have high standards !

Review 34:I had my two daughters who Are now in their twenties . We had a beautifully modern suite - the tower suite . We wanted to live their . Modern and clean and beautifully decorated . Gorgeous bathroom with little blue lights and a light that changed colour in the shower depending on your mood . TV in bathroom too . We had tea and little muffins brought to our room every morning - lovely touches . The staff were the most helpful I have ever been - pouring us cups of tea, replacing our serviettes after we had got up , helpful with menu choices and spa bookings .The spa is in a delightful cottage garden . Grounds are beautiful and ducks wander over to the sunbeds . We felt like it was our home with comfy seating areas everywhere . It truly was an amazing place and I would certainly go back again .

Review 35:A surprise birthday weekend for my girlfriend was made even more fantastic by us being upgraded to a suite on arrival (with a 4 poster!)... major brownie points for me & obviously the hotel. Superbly attentive, helpful & friendly staff. My girlfriend was on a no meat, gluten & diary diet which they coped with admirably in the restaurant. The restaurant & food was lovely - a special mention for the cheeseboard; it was huge & is renowned through-out the island.

Review 36:Could not fault the hotel. Best stay I have had in a very long time.

Review 37:We decided to go for a mid week break and booked through booking.com. On arrival we were welcomed into the lobby, and we were struck by the tasteful decor, friendliness and the welcome extended by the staff. We were shown to our room which appeared very spacious and had a massive bathroom, walk in closet and elegant bedroom. Thinking a mistake had been made (the room was too large and elegant to be a classic double), I contacted the reception only to be informed that we had received a complimentary upgrade to a Junior Suite. The room was beautiful, sumptuously decorated, with an elegant four poster bed, an intimate dining table for two, with beautiful views over the pool area, thoughtfully adorned with fresh fruit, complimentary bottled water and unlimited wi-fi. Such was the quality of the experience that we stayed in most of the time, ordered in room service and played scrabble to while away the time. The addition of a blu-ray disc player and assorted music CD's was a nice touch. The grounds are well looked after and a lot of attention to detail is paid to catering for the needs of the guests in a tasteful and yet individual way. I have never seen this manifested in such a manner as what I saw at the Longueville Manor (and we have stayed in a lot of hotels in a variety of locations all over the UK and abroad). The grounds are quite spacious and unfortunately we did not get to see all the grounds. We also had the opportunity to have dinner at the hotel restaurant, the food choices as well as the quality of the food was second to none. We stayed for a couple of nights and seriously thought of staying longer. We would recommend this place to anybody who has discerning tastes, and seeks an upmarket, exclusive, yet tasteful stay.

Review 38:Wi-Fi could do with a boost. No air conditioning which is rare at this price (only applicable in July & August) so if windows open there is a busy rush hour road to the South.

Review 39:It is a traditional up market hotel. Excellent service and restaurant.

Review 40:Nothing

Review 41:Longueville Manor oozes class from the moment you arrive, the staff are attentive without being over the top; the building, rooms and grounds are beautifully maintained and food was outstanding!

Review 42:Some noisy posh kids who should know better than to be screaming outside! Other than that can't fault them.

Review 43:Exceptional service, staff and food. We went here on our honeymoon and were treated with so much care and attention. The staff absolutely make the Longueville Manor and I've stayed in 5 star hotels all over the world. Beautiful grounds, excellent rooms, good bar. Will definitely go back!

Review 44:I was excepting a bit more from my coked breakfast but still ok nothing to serious

Review 45:It's a beautifull place, with great staff always around. I highly recommend this place!

Review 46:For the price the rooms could be larger and also have air conditioning & a mini bar.

Review 47:We went to Jersey as it was a short flight from our local airport and we travelled with our toddler for our 1st family holiday. The longueville manor was a great place for our 1st trip giving both luxury and excellent service, in a child friendly atmosphere.

Review 48:I felt that as we had a "deal" via yourselves we had a very small room with no AC, fridge or coffee making facilities. As one would expect in a country house hotel the drinks and food offerings were exorbitant.

Review 49:Beautiful gardens and superb staff.

Review 50:Good location, walking distance from Town. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Decent size room. Excellent food in restaurant.

Review 51:Had to wait a long time for tea to arrive at breakfast. Also, my breakfast order was not what I ordered.

Review 52:Relaxing by the open fire. Walking through the woodlands, seeing the daffodils in December. Overall a most relaxing stay.

Review 53:food space room

Review 54:The food is fantastic; the staff are so friendly and helpful. The wine list truly excellent and the sommelier very knowledgeable and attentive.

Review 55:Shower water pressure poor.

Review 56:Peaceful, wonderful food, excellent and helpful staff.

Review 57:Amazing service, dinner was very good, overall it was a very good experience, we would defiantly come back

Review 58:The service was impeccable. The food was delicious. The hotel and staff were wonderful.

Review 59:nothing

Review 60:100% perfect in every way

Review 61:Shower water pressure poor

Review 62:Peaceful, civilized environment, wonderful warm swimming pool, excellent food and outstanding staff

Review 63:Magnifique endroit et cuisine excellente.

Review 64:Everything was fab...Great Property...Super Food... Outstanding Service.

Review 65:Nothing !

Review 66:The facilities were first class. For me though the staff were the best I have dealt with in comparison to any other hotel I have stayed out.

Review 67:The ambience staff and food

Review 68:Everything was great - location, staff, accommodation. The breakfast and service were sensational.

Review 69:Difficult booking process with various offers, packages bed sizes etc, etc.

Review 70:Warm welcome from friendly staff. Excellent food.

Review 71:The whole experience was first class from doorman to evening meal and room facilities .

Review 72:Everything - even the weather!

Review 73:Everything

Review 74:thank you

Review 75:Very obliging and courteous staff.

Review 76:some facilities are old

Review 77:Every thing there is excellent, especially breakfast and outdoor swim pool. Sometimes you could swim with a duck.

Review 78:Everything, the staff, the food, the drink, the spa, not to mention the weather. A perfect birthday treat.

Review 79:Always a good experience.

Review 80:For such a great hotel the service was lacking. It was consistently slow and there was at least one error in our order on the three consecutive days that we ate lunch by the pool. Superior attitude of staff who need to ‘get over themselves’.

Review 81:Great room rate when booked through booking.com, excellent food, lovely bedroom overlooking gardens and swimming pool, very relaxing.

Review 82:Awful value for money (same price as The Ritz). 1. On a noisy road at the front, but...2. No aircon, so had to keep windows open and listen to traffic 3. Dodgy electrics in bathroom. 4. No kettle in room. 5. Plastic bathtub. 6. No gym/spa. 7. Breakfast variable: sometimes leathery bacon, always leathery croissants. 8. Pop chart hits played incongruously in dining room.

Review 83:Impeccable service, beautiful main building and gardens

Review 84:We had a wonderful few days and could not fault anything. The staff were attentive and would do their best to help with any requests. A good location and very comfortable rooms. A definite "must return"!

Review 85:Slight disorganisation and a lack of efficiency of the place.decoration a bit tired. Food good but not fabulous. My son did not enjoy his uncomfortable bed The fact that on the day were were leaving the staff seemed to forget that we were guests any more.

Review 86:Food and attention given to our son

Review 87:Nothing to write about.

Review 88:Stayed at many hotels of all standards all around the world and this is always the best. Pull up in your hire car and someone meets you takes your cases and then parks your car for you. No extra charge ofcourse. You never sign for anything during the whole stay and the bill is always correct. Why can't other top hotels be like this. It is just like staying in a private house and there is nothing that is too much trouble.

Review 89:The hotel is beautifully kept and maintained, public rooms quietly embracing, very well furnished, staff are courteous and caring, food sublime. The grounds are very easy to get around, great pool area, loved the kitchen garden..being able to walk off into the woods was definitely a plus. Would go back in a New York minute!

Review 90:The staff helpful to the point of being overly attentive. No tea making facility or fridge in the room unless you request it. Limited dinner menu for vegetarians.

Review 91:Nice room overlooking pleasant gardens. Helpful staff.

Review 92:Everything we stayed in a classic room to the rear with a view of the gardens and pool the room was called superstar and that's how we was treated like superstars

Review 93:Parking spaces are limited. This is sometimes an issue, especially at night.

Review 94:Simply one of the best we've been staying in over the last years. Well maintained, high quality and last but not least an exceptional and very attentive staff.

Review 95:We were there for the occasion of our Silver Wedding Anniversary. From the minute we arrived we were made to feel very special and very welcome. If you have an occasion to celebrate or just want some luxury the Longueville Manor is definitely the place to stay. Would also like to add the food was amazing and excellent for vegetarians, which in Jersey is very unusual.

Review 96:In our room, the WiFi reception wasn't very strong. We had to be close to the door but maybe thats just being picky.

Review 97:Overall service was fantastic! I could not fault it. Very warm and friendly staff helped make our stay very comfortable and relaxing. With this we stayed in a very lovely room, with a very comfortable bed and great view from our window. Also, expect the very best food on the island! Each morning we sat down down for a very good breakfast, plenty to choose from; the perfect way to start the day. Regarding the evening meals, I believe it was a Michelin star chef.

Review 98:Not a dislike but a safety omission. Where there are bath showers a handrail should be fitted for the less agile to able to get in and out of the bath more safely.

Review 99:As we was making a surprise visit to friends on their 50th wedding anniversary (also staying at LM) we requested to be able to meet them unannounced which was well arranged by Robert who phoned our room to let us know all was in place. This set the standard of staff service for the duration.

Review 100:Some on the front desk ladies not very consistent one in particular on Friday night brusque to say the least!

Review 101:Lovely surroundings very attentive staff in the main every need catered for.

Review 102:The charm and character. Setting in a good countryside location. The staff were exceptionally attentive and polite. The food was excellent. The room was very comfortable and spacious.

Review 103:The only thing that I felt was lacking and it's a small issue is I felt the breakfast full English was a let down ,,the sausage was of poor quality the bacon was hard and the mushrooms only three of them ,,,,I feel a hearty quality breakfast could be achieved with the range of meats available.

Review 104:It was a delightful stay from the moment we drove in and had our range rover parked to the offer of Wellington boots in the rain, awesome supper brilliant staff perfect evening.

Review 105:Everything! Excellent service, very nice staff who were always very polite and willing to help. Felt very welcome! Rooms very comfortable.Highly recommend Longueville Manor Hotel. We will stay there again!

Review 106:Was disappointing in such a great hotel not to have a spa, we had to go to another hotel for the afternoon.

Review 107:The bar areas The excellent room The Discovery Menu food

Review 108:no tea and coffee making facilities in bedroom

Review 109:The attentiveness and efficiency of ALL of the staff and the very high quality of products and services provided

Review 110:My husband & I stayed for only 2 nights. The service was excellent! Welcoming, professional, friendly, prompt, obliging..perfect! From the moment we arrived it was a great experience. The food delicious and plentiful, and great selection of fresh fruits at breakfast. The premises were gorgeous, and I enjoyed putting on their gum boots they provided and walking around the premises. We chatted with Leo who took the time to kindly show us around their veggie, fruit and herb garden, and got to sample some of the produce growing! I could not fault my visit at all. We Would have stayed longer if they'd had the vacancies! I Would highly recommend this accommodation. .

Review 111:Bed was a little hard-but I think that's just personal preference

Review 112:The staff were unbelievably attentive at all times. They couldn't do enough for you. The atmosphere was fabulous & food was stunning.

Review 113:One lady (staff member on the Thursday) who greeted us at the front door was very challenging as we re-entered following our arrival back from being out in the car sightseeing, we were dressed in shorts and tshirts, we were definitely 'looked up and down' as to our appropriateness to stay in the hotel. This was not a language barrier issue, as we had had no problems with any other personnel, they were all excellent and welcoming, and would stay there again. We are looking to book with a relais chateaux hotel Oxford next month, as we have been so impressed with the whole experience. Keep up the good work.

Review 114:Attentive staff, present at all times to help, but not overwhelming.

Review 115:Room 28very dark owing to overhanging shrubbery. Poor housekeeping, patio furniture not cleaned.....dirty cup left unwashed for four days.

Review 116:The beautiful grounds, the friendly helpful staff, excellent breakfast.

Review 117:the only thing I would say is that next time I will request a room at the back as the noise of the road was a little noisy but didn't spoil our visit.

Review 118:had a fabulous stay at Longueville and will definitely return. Would recommend to anybody wanting something special.

Review 119:As the weather was so hot when we were there air conditioning in the room would have been an advantage.

Review 120:Beautiful and luxurious hotel with exemplary service from every member of staff and superb food in the restaurant. Grounds are extensive and wonderful. Heated outdoor pool an excellent touch, as is the kitchen garden produce and salmon smoked in their own smoke-house. Not cheap but worth it!

Review 121:Dinner too formal, service a bit over the top. Should have a courtesy van service to downtown/airport at this price range.

Review 122:Beautiful room, good service, good food, pretty grounds

Review 123:I was very disappointed in the quality of the room as the shower was very low in pressure and the room was very noisy form the traffic on the main road. I would suggest you install air conditioning in the rooms at the front of the hotel. Also the rooms we're somewhat overpriced when compared with quality hotels on the mainland, just felt like an expensive holiday inn. My biggest disappointment was the fact that although your staff we're informed before we arrived that this was a birthday treat for my wife this was not acknowledged (a simple happy birthday on the Tuesday would have been nice!) Although you do have a very nice hotel I think there are areas that could be improved. Just to clarify I have stayed in many top hotels ranging from the George V in Paris to le manoire in Oxford and am a senior executive within the Food & Hospitality industry for over 30 years. I hope this is helpful.

Review 124:The staff and surrounding we're lovely. The breakfast offering was very good.
