Reviews for Yeo Dale Hotel

Review 1:This is my third stay at the Yeo Dale Hotel, a different room each time all have been very good, in comfort, decor, and cleanliness. Food is a high standard every day, with a different home made treat at breakfast every day. Very friendly and welcoming staff.

Review 2:Nothing at all

Review 3:Just loved staying at this boutique hotel very friendly staff, exquisite bedrooms that cater really well for your stay to make it as comfortable as can be, the breakfast accomadates every taste and was wonderful , so enjoyed staying here and would definately recommend this to every traveller wishing to stay in Barnstaple

Review 4:Breakfast! Best french toast I've ever eaten! Great hosts, very likeable and very comfortable room, short walk from centre of town and happily recommend to others.

Review 5:Parking was a bit of a problem, there are only a few spaces and we had a space, went out for dinner and it had gone when we came back. So we had to try find a space in the street to park , which we eventually found. As it was a Friday night the street was busy so was a bit of luck we got a space. It wouldn't put us off coming again though so not too problematic.

Review 6:Lovely hotel, best looking building on the street. Very close to Barnstaple town. Very flexible and accommodating staff. We arrived late and received a warm welcome. We had two rooms. They were very stylish and had lots of extras that made the stay very comfortable, things you would expect in a large hotel. All in all very good and we would definitely book again. We travelled with older children and a baby and it was perfect. There were also couples staying (who we met at breakfast) groups of surfers etc so great hotel for all types of travellers.

Review 7:If anything think we missed a lounge .

Review 8:Very good location very clean and well decorated though out . Was greeted by Paul on arrival to let us know that we was upgraded as well as my brother and his wife . All staff very friendly and efficient would recommend this hotel as we will return soon ourselves

Review 9:We would have preferred a 1st floor room to the 2nd floor. We will ask in future.

Review 10:This was the second visit for us and we're just as pleased with the whole treatment of us and the room was spacious and immaculately clean. It was ideal for a. Short walk to the town centre. Well pleased.

Review 11:An excellent value hotel within easy walking distance of the center of Barnstaple. The only thing to note is that it is near a relatively busy road junction so there was a fair amount of traffic noise in the morning in my front-facing room (I sleep with the window open). It didn't bother me as I live on a main road, but if you live in quieter locations, ask for a room at the back.

Review 12:no big deal but the mattress was a bit on a slope: it felt like I roled out of the bed. Stuffed some pillows underneath to prevent that.

Review 13:Clean and quite cozy room

Review 14:Wi-fi dropped in and out, although this seems to be the general area not the hotel itself, but not a problem to us.

Review 15:Lovely hotel, stayed in room 9 and it was very spacious with a clean modern en-suite. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic.

Review 16:Breakfast expensive so avoided but sounded nice and two flights of stairs to go up which wasn't a problem but could be for other guests.

Review 17:Staff very welcoming and room always cleaned and presented when I returned. Lovely interior decorating.

Review 18:The room was like a shoe box and situated rigt out side a busy 5 way road junction that was on the go all night.

Review 19:The staff were pleasant and breakfast was good.

Review 20:The breakfast on our first morning was great , but after that it seemed to go down hill over cooked

Review 21:Bed was very comfortable, the room over all was a good size.

Review 22:Fantastic customer service. I was warmly welcomed and the staff were incredibly accommodating. Having to attend a wedding the next day, I was waiting for a lift to the venue after check out. The staff kindly allowed me to change in the hotel and wait for my lift well after check out. This was a real relief as I would have had next to no time to get ready at the venue. Thank you!

Review 23:Well situated, friendly staff, great breakfast. Would recommend a walk round Pilton, its older than Barnstaple with a magnificent Church. Two real ale pubs lovely beers and welcoming local folk, I had a great time.

Review 24:Front bedroom on very busy road so very noisy.

Review 25:The hotel is clean and comfortable. Staff friendly. Good choice of breakfasts . Overall good value for money .

Review 27:Friendly helpfull staff, good breakfast with plenty of choice.

Review 36:Room was clean and well equipped. Room was quiet. Plenty of car parking on street. Price seemed reasonable.

Review 37:No view from bedroom window but this was not important to me as I was travelling on my own for business

Review 38:Owners were friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and facilities were good. walking distance from the town centre.

Review 39:It is a very busy area, & difficult to park, but there is a small car park opposite , so not too far to battle with luggage. Little noisy at rush hour.

Review 40:The bed was very comfortable, & pillow good. I had two very good nights of sleep. Able to walk into Barnstable town centre.

Review 41:Slight issue with difficulty finding nearby parking , but it was a B/H and we arrived late so it was our fault really.

Review 42:Really friendly and helpful manager. Kept our bikes safe at the back of our hotel.

Review 43:not a bad word to say about this hotel

Review 44:perfect little hotel, with the extra little home made muffins, clean comfortable, staff extremely friendly and helpful

Review 45:The bed was a bit too soft for my liking, but it was great to have a warm duvet and 2 sets of pillows.

Review 46:The owners were lovely and extremely helpful and accommodating. I was upgraded from a single room to a double ensuite. The English Breakfast was good and had local foods used where possible.

Review 47:I was staying at hotel on my own, but was made to feel part of the family. Good variety for breakfast, with an extra homemade treat while breakfast is being cooked. Can't wait to go back and enjoy their evening meal with my friends who live locally.

Review 48:Not much at maybe a little pricey but other than that nothing would reccomended to anyone .

Review 49:My son had stayed here previously and recommended . I made a visit to see him and I was met with a lovely smart but homley hotel in a central location . very clean , beautifully decorated and very comfortable . friendly staff and a great breakfast ! .

Review 50:Very small room Dirty bathroom door Old tradition single glazed frech doors which was adjacent to main traffic light and every vehicle stopped or stopping felt like and sounded like it was on the edge of your bed

Review 51:Bed was comfortable

Review 52:Good free wifi but service kept locking up - needed to regularly log out and back in again

Review 53:Comfortable bed, good shower, friendly staff and an excellent breakfast. Very happy.

Review 54:I stayed here whilst on Placement as a Student Nurse at the near by hospital. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful, rooms were immaculately clean and very comfortable. The location was excellent and I had a very short but enjoyable stay, I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again next time.

Review 55:One suggestion - the "continental breakfast" outside our door could have included a pot of hot tea or coffee and some croissants.

Review 56:Nearly everything - we had a marvellous time and would definitely stay again.

Review 57:I couldn't fault anything.

Review 58:The room was a decent size and comfortable, the WiFi worked, I only wanted a light breakfast (included), but the poached eggs were cooked to perfection.

Review 59:The staff /owners were very pleasant and courteous. We went away for a few days and came back - our left luggage had been taken to our new room and in addition to the usual complimentary snack, some chocs were left for my 9 year old! It's those little things that gives more pleasure. The hotel was very clean and breakfast was great!

Review 60:Location was handy to everything great for walking and basing myself for exploring the whole region, via car. Staff helpful and efficient with good advise for veining dining. Fullam Chinese restaurant was wonderful. Delicious breakfasts a great start to the days activities.

Review 61:The staff got my room mixed up was shown to a single room to start of with which I must add smelt like a teenage boys room I then had to tell staff they had wrong room which she had to check online I then didnt get the room I booked but did get a double room the room that I got was very small there a busy road out so didnt have very good sleep overall I wont be going back there

Review 62:I liked the location of the hotel

Review 71:The total Comfort of the room A very good Night and the hand over of the town information We will be coming back soon .

Review 76:Can't say there was anything I didn't like. Little bit pricey but that's it.

Review 77:I especially liked the smoothie brought to us at breakfast by a young lad for us to try

Review 78:The hotel is on a busy junction with nowhere to stop and unload, there is a small free car park but it is across the other side of the road and isn't marked as the Yeo Dale car park which makes it difficult to find, unless like us you telephone the owner for advice while driving. Once found it's great.

Review 79:We booked at short notice during a Bank Holiday so took one of the Attic rooms with the expectation that it would be just 'bearable'. As it turned out we were amazed at how comfortable it was and had everything we required. The owners called us the day after booking to confirm we were aware of the size of the room and that it's position in the house involved a lot of stairs which was very good of them. The location of the house is great and a short few minutes walk to the town center. The owner was very helpful and was able to give lots of advice about places to eat in the town and evening meals are also available in the dining room, we didn't sample them but if they are as good as the breakfasts I'm sure they would be very good. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and will definitely stay again the next time we visit the area.

Review 80:Room was a bit small but it served it's purpose well enough as I travelled alone and only needed a place to rest my head for one night & parking was available down a side street which was free from 5pm - 9am however, if I was staying for leisure purposes this would mean I would have been obliged to get up before 9am to either pay for parking or move my car.

Review 81:The staff were friendly and the hotel was located within easy walking distance to the town centre where there were a number of restaurants & pubs to choose from. Free Wi-Fi which worked well & the bed was extremely comfortable - I got a good nights rest!

Review 82:The rooms could have better lighting in them.

Review 83:It was great hotel and they made me feel welcome. They worked hard to make the property to feel welcoming, clean and modern.

Review 84:Some people may struggle with rooms on the 3rd floor as lots of stairs - good exercise for others :-)

Review 85:The staff were very welcoming. The room was spotless and very comfortable - would stay again and highly recommend

Review 90:Just what I needed for a single overnight en route to the coast. Excellent breakfast.

Review 91:This is being picky. ..but maybe a better reading lamp in the room and somewhere to put toiletries in the shower.

Review 93:I received a warm welcome at the commencement of my 4 night stay at the Yeo Dale. I stayed in a single room with bathroom which was clean and comfortable and I enjoyed the view from my attic room. Breakfasts were really terrific and accommodations were easily made for gluten free and vegetarian diet. I enjoyed my stay and would visit again if visiting Barnstaple again.

Review 94:Booked this hotel to stay at last minute to attend a friends christening and was really impressed.
