Reviews for La Gallerie

Review 1:the only thing that could be added would be wifi but I feel a bit of a nerd saying this.

Review 2:very friendly owners, fantastic breakfasts ,very clean and beautifully prepared rooms Would have no hesitation recommending or repeating our experience.

Review 3:We had a great stay at La Gallerie. Our hosts were warm and welcoming. My fiancée and I spent one night there on an impromptu trip to Devon and really enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was excellent as well.

Review 4:Now we have found this wonderful place we always stay when we are in the area. Beautiful rooms and a really friendly welcome and the lemon pancakes for breakfast are to die for!!!! It was a pleasure to be back for a 3rd time and we will return in the spring

Review 5:The Metal bed made a loud noise every time you moved !! The kettle in the room made the water taste very bitter even after washing it out several times ! A bit to far out of Combe Martin .

Review 6:The size of the room and the breakfast . Tracey and John were very friendly . Room and bedding clean . The TV was a decent size for the room .

Review 7:Not a dislike as such and they know about it but the shower uses suction to draw the water away and when it first starts its a surprisingly loud and worrying sound. Once you know you just get on with it

Review 8:Lovely place to stay, with excellent food, great choice, and great facilities. Hostess was very considerate and helpful

Review 9:A little bit far away from coast.

Review 10:Very nice owner, Tracey. She gave us good hints for our trips. We felt very comfortable. Good breakfast with alternatives to full english breakfast. Beautiful house with lovely furnishings!

Review 11:The road leads just below the guestrooms which is noisy sometimes. The room is a bit narrow.

Review 12:The breakfast was absolutely the best on our entire journey, delicious! The whole house is like a kind of artwork, really beautiful. The hosts are very kind and helpful.

Review 13:I mistakenly booked one night instead of two but Tracy and John went the extra step to fit me in - I was lucky. Quite separately, they were both very helpfull and understanding.

Review 14:We were made to feel most welcome from the moment we arrived to the time we checked out. The breakfast was excellent with a variety to choose from. We would certainly recommend it.

Review 15:The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast simply amazing (definitely try the delicious pancakes!). The rooms beautifully decorated with plenty of space. And by the way: We have counted more than 35 Exmoor Ponies!

Review 16:Lovely quaint modern room with good shower & facilities, fantastic customer service, a brilliant full English for myself and sweet pancakes for my lady, close to the beach and a relaxed vibe to the stay

Review 17:Very noisy shower drain in bathroom which continued after after shower turned off.

Review 18:Very friendly staff, nice and comfortable room and excellent breakfast.

Review 19:leaving :(

Review 20:fantastic place and very friendly owners and breakfast was 5 star, the car parking was better than most places i have see around the area, it was home from home,

Review 21:The place is spotless, and has an amazing spirit ! We have been travelling for more than a week and have stayed in many places but this was an absolute refresh. The property is very well looked after. The landlords were just amazing, took good care of us in the morning serving the best breakfast in a whole world ! We were absolutely pleased with our stay !

Review 22:Gorgeous Decor. Thought of everything. Made us feel really welcome. We booked all 3 rooms for a family birthday and brought a dog. Breakfast lovely and very accommodating.

Review 23:Lovely lady owner, very helpful and a fabulous breakfast. Really enjoyed our stay but the only thing that let's it down is being on a main Street so if window open which we had to have as it was warm then there is a lot of traffic noise. WiFi i intermittent but overall we enjoyed our stay and its in a good area for an overnight stay

Review 24:Light from the street into the bedroom windows was a little intrusive for someone who likes a dark room at night. Nevertheless, I slept like a log.

Review 25:Tracy was friendly and very helpful. The accommodation was comfortable, quiet and had a pleasant outlook.

Review 26:Not much to dislike. The room needed another small table to put odds and sods on but only a minor point. Car park was a little tight at rear of property but managable.

Review 27:Location was good for viewing the surounding area of North Devon. The room well apointed and fresh with a good shower. The owner was really polite and helpful and the breakfast was excellent.

Review 28:At the end of the long high street which may be an issue to those who find walking difficult.

Review 29:New and clean, friendly relaxed hosts, character property. Great breakfast, generous quantity.

Review 30:Parking is limited & you are a bit away from sea front, tho this helps you walk off the breakfast.

Review 31:Clean, modern rooms without losing character. Friendly hosts and a great breakfast.

Review 32:Could not get wifi in our room but Tracey lent us her laptop. There is nothing to fault

Review 33:Tracey and John were fabulous hosts, friendly without intruding. The variety for breakfast was the best we have ever had, Tracey's eggy bread was absolutely delicious we stayed 5 nights and enjoyed this B&B very much. Such warmth from this place

Review 34:Further from Coastal Path than expected- 1.2 miles. Wifi did not work in the bedroom, I had to stand in the hall. The shower has no curtain so the whole bathroom floor got wet and there was no towelling mat to stand on or dry the floor.

Review 35:The house is very pretty and well designed. We felt so welcomed to the house when we arrived, John is very nice. The two dogs and the parrot are so cute. We had a big breakfast which was very good. Everything was good, I'd say better than Travelodge! Definitely will stay here again if we go down to North Devon again. Thank you.

Review 36:The room was spacious, the wet room shower was great! Tracey and John the owners were really friendly and the breakfast choice and quality was brilliant!

Review 37:There are literally no flaws.

Review 38:There are so many pluses. The lovely owner is quite exceptional, extremely pleasant and welcoming. Her little dogs and parrot are such wonderful housemates. The breakfast is divine. The location is excellent for a short walk to the pub. Creative colours and design in the room. Great value!

Review 39:Very friendly owners that contributed to our trip experience. The interior of the house is designed with love and attention to detail. Very pleasant stay. Thanks

Review 40:Nothing at all to not like .

Review 41:Had a fantastic stay charming room, spotlessly clean .Breakfast was delicious with an excellent choice and Tracy couldn't be more helpful and nice, will definitely be recommending and returning.

Review 42:Room cold on arrival but quickly heated up - although had to ask.

Review 43:Room comfort good, suggest roooms 2&3 better than 1 but very nice clean place, well run.

Review 44:I had to think long and hard about this and errr..... NOTHING. All was wonderful

Review 45:The bedroom was lovely, beautifully decorated and neat and compact shower room. lovely couple run the bed n breakfast and very helpful. defiantly recommended.

Review 46:Very friendly and helpful owners, who gave us fresh milk for our tea and coffee on arrival and offered an ironing board and iron as they knew we'd travelled and were off to a wedding. Nice touch

Review 47:Nothing

Review 48:The building The breakfast (amazing!) The warm welcome The modern shower/wet room Comfortable bed/room Parking behind the house The price

Review 49:The owners were really friendly and made you feel at home straight away. Nothing was too much trouble. Had time for you recommended places to go etc. All in all we had a really relaxing few days and would highly recommend a visit.

Review 50:The restaurant called Pack o' cards. Do not go there!!! Wearrived and were seated immediately but noticed the couple next to uslooked very unhappy. They told us they had been waiting an hour and ahalf and then a waitress came and asked them their order as theyappeared to have ''lost it''. The manager was moreconcerned with the lighting arrangements and sent a young waitress toapologise to the couple. The couple left shortly after this withouttheir food and without being served. We asked the manager if therewas a problem with the food. He said no, there is an hour and a halfwait and that we should have been told upon arrival. We explainedthat we were not told upon arrival and if we knew it was an hour anda half wait, we would have gone somewhere else. We met another couplethe next day who just happened to be staying at our hotel whoexperienced the exact same experience. The manager was very unhelpfulwith no apology. Thus is the worst service we have ever had!!Recommend top chippy just down the road.

Review 51:We were welcomed by both John & Tracey, they could not of been anynicer!! Always happy to help and very accommodating. : ) The room wasgorgeous! Loved the walk in wet room! Breakfast was superb! Theparrot(Captain) was really cute. It was a shame that we could not ofstayed longer!!

Review 52:As previous guests have said parking was a little tight at the back but if you are good at reversing and your car's not to big it's fine. That is only a minor thing and you should not let that put you off

Review 53:It was easy to find and very quiet at night. The room was spotless and beautifully decorated, we had room 2 with the wet room which was great. Tracey was wonderful we felt at home right away. Breakfast was lovely and there was a lot to choose from. We are already planning our trip for next summer

Review 54:A steep inclining path to the rear car parking with some tight turns, not a dislike as such just a heads up for travellers with large vehicles although we managed quite well in a small van

Review 55:This B and B is excellent value, we visited the area for a friends wedding and stayed 4 nights in room 1. The atmosphere at the B and B was private yet cosy, very friendly, The resident parrot and westie dogs added to this friendly atmosphere. Tracey makes an amazing breakfast! The area is beautiful to visit and we enjoyed a lovely meal at the Terrace Tapas in Ilfracombe

Review 56:Nothing at La Gallerie to dislike.

Review 57:Tracey is a wonderful hostess,so friendly and pleasent. Beautifully decorated room. Very comfortable bed. Clean and well equipped wet room. Fantastic choice of breakfast. Would certainly use again and recommend to others.

Review 58:Nothing to do with the B&B but it was difficult to find anything to eat on a Monday night. I found my way to the Pack of Cards and the food was good but I was overwhelmed by the warm welcome from the staff. A very good experience in the end.

Review 59:What a lovely welcome! The breakfast was delicious and the entertainment from Captain (the parrot) was an excellent diversion. Very good value for money.

Review 60:Access to small parking area via a steep, narrow driveway which was in poor condition.

Review 61:Welcoming and friendly owners. Lovely decor in the bedroom. Quality en-suite fitments. Really good breakfast with a lovely fresh fruit salad to start.

Review 62:The fact that we had to leave to go home!!

Review 63:Such a friendly couple who made you feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. They went out of their way to be helpful. Rooms very tastefully decorated as was the rest of the house. Even the parrot was friendly!! Lovely quiet location.

Review 64:On our arrival we were made very welcome by our hosts. The facilities can only be described as "of an excellent standard". The bed was very comfortable, which is a rarity these days and the on-suite was spotless. The breakfast was plentiful, with a good range of choices to accommodate just about everyone. Excellent value for money and will be my first choice when visiting that area again.

Review 65:The whole place is homely and really well decorated. Modern and classic decor together. The staff/owners were really helpful and friendly. Plus a fantastic breakfast too.

Review 66:leaving!!

Review 67:tracy couldnt have been more helpful. only stayed one night but it realy was a pleasure.Clean comfortable and agreat breakfast.. heaven!! hope to return in August

Review 68:My son was playing a gig with his band and got to bed late so he overslept and missed breakfast but the owners cooked him some anyway. He didn't realise they wouldn't accept payment by card but they allowed him to pay by card after he returned home. He found the hotel comfortable and said he would definitely recommend it.

Review 69:Nothing!

Review 70:We had a lovely couple of days in Combe Martin. Tracey made us very welcome and the breakfasts were delicious (especially the mushrooms in tarragon sauce!) Tracey also told us of some lovely walks we could go on that we wouldn't have otherwise known about. It has to be said though - Captain (the parrot) is the star attraction at this establishment!! Thank you Tracey for making us so welcome. We will hopefully be back. Maz & Richard Yeadon
