Reviews for Aegialis Hotel & Spa

Review 1:The rooms could use a little bit of renovation inside.

Review 2:The whole staff was amazing. The property itself has a feel of a 5 star resort. In reality it's even nicer than in the pictures.

Review 3:Even though we mentioned during email conversations with the hotel that we were on our honeymoon, we felt regarded as freeloaders and there was no acknowledgement of the fact upon arrival or stay. There was a standard offer of a free massage per room, i.e. only for 1 person which is obviously not an offer but a 50% discount since it is offered for a double room. The room did not meet the expectations that the price would suggest, in effect you are paying for a great view and a renovated bathroom, but the rest of the room needs an upgrade/renovation to justify the price. The service from the extremely polite staff during breakfast was lacking, as we were never asked if we needed anything (e.g. coffee or hot drink other than what was offered on the buffet). The pool, while very nice was full of kids that were allowed to dive which was supposedly forbidden (as per a warning by the pool) and managed to ruin any sense of atmosphere and relaxation.

Review 4:The hotel is in a great spot on the Aigiali bay offering fabulous views from the rooms, restaurant and pool. The breakfast variety and quality was to a very high standard. The hotel staff was really polite. The spa facilities and staff are great!

Review 5:Very poorly trained staff, not friendly or attentive at all. Definitely could not call this a 5 star hotel.

Review 6:Beautiful view and restaurant served decent food.

Review 7:Only minor things could be improved like paper napkins in the restaurants and lack of paper hankies in the bedrooms. Dinner service was not as smooth as could and there was a error on a transit. But these are all minor compared to the overall quality and value

Review 8:We are much travelled people in many parts of the world. The Aegialis is one of our favourite hotels anywhere, and certainly in Greece. It has a perfect location on the mountainside, overlooking the "Big Blue" of Aegialis Bay, with all rooms having a sea view. The staff, headed by the indomitable Irene Giannakopoulou, are as friendly and efficient as can be, the seawater pool is fantastic, all areas have recently been upgraded to very high standards, and breakfasts are first rate. We will be back.

Review 9:Too many families (Italian) with terribly noisy kids screaming and jumping everywhere. A nuisance which unfortunately, the hotel can't do much about! So didn't take much advantage of the swimming pool. But amazing beaches just at your feet.

Review 10:Amazing view from the whole hotel The staff is friendly and helpful Rooms are not spacious but very comfortable with great view Excellent breakfast, fresh and varied

Review 11:The hotel as a whole needs to be renovated. It must have been very nice... 20 years ago. It is a pitty because the location is nice but you really feel you are in a hotel out of the 80's, not very clean.

Review 12:Very large swimming pool with sea water, overlooking the sea. Excellent breakfast. Staff is very kind and helpful, although not always very efficient.

Review 13:The rooms don't look like they do on the website!!! We'd paidfor a top-tier room with sunloungers and verandah, but there is a roofover the verandah so no sunbathing is possible! The room was dark, dirtyand in poor repair - like your grandmother's bedroom in the 1970s.We asked to move, and the 2nd one was only marginally better but againin bad repair (and they didn't refund or even offer us lunch for thefact we'd paid for a more expensive one). No manger asked for ourfeedback, nobody cared! And no apology at allAlso the staff at Ambrosia & at breakfast are forgetful, slow and unfriendly. We were horrified!

Review 14:The view is phenomenal. Pool is lovely.. Food in all the restaurants isgreat, especially Ambrosia. Staff by the pool are great. Aegiali porthas good bars and tavernas.

Review 15:Good spa in the hotel grounds, nice poolside bar & snacks, attentive staff.

Review 16:The genuine greek athmosphere and service attitude. Not crowded at all.

Review 17:nothing.

Review 18:la piscine à l'eau de mer ( sea water swimingpool ), beautiful flowers et trees in the garden & the balcony in front of the sea.

Review 19:The outdoor pool with salt on the water; the unhealthy and poor food serverd by the pool

Review 20:I loved the spa the beautiful location and the kind staff

Review 21:Small rooms for a high cost

Review 22:The location, the views and the pool

Review 23:The staff were not informed about the correct bus schedule which cost us a beach trip and extra money paid to the hotel for using their taxi services. The hotel is not well placed and so it is a little difficult to see the island if you don't have a car (a lot of walking needed). Very expensive additional services.

Review 24:The best staff I have ever met. The spa was totally worth it. The facilities were really excellent.

Review 25:for a luxury hotel, it was a bit scruffy. The fact that they charged so much for a transfer from the port was very annoying, this should be free like all the other hotels we visited in Greece. I thought they could have been more informative at reception when we arrived.

Review 26:location fantastic, breakfast good, very restful, with a fabulous outdoor pool. beautiful hotel, beautiful island.

Review 27:A bit of a steep climb from the village. Mattresses way too hard. If you want to rent scooters or cars, you are probably better off to do it in the village.

Review 28:Very nice pool! Very friendly staff. Excellent view of the bay.

Review 29:Very few ferries that go there and unable to arrive at hotel until 4am traveling from Mykonos in June. Will charge for a full night (98euro) even if arriving that late and most ferries going out leave at 6am. Though we planned 2 nights there, it was only 24hrs. Staff very unfriendly and unable to accommodate our situation though called ahead 3 times. Not at all worth what is charged per night. The water was not hot in the shower, the pool is salt water, and transportation to the town is charged every time you go anywhere by the hotel at a high rate. Even the camping spots and hotels we stayed in Greece don't charge for pick up to/from port. Would never go here again even if half the price.

Review 30:The view from our room.
