Reviews for Hôtel Restaurant Le Provençal
Review 1:The room bed was uncomfortable, due to the mattress sagging seriously in the middle. The room was superficially clean, but due to the 'basket-work' bed-head, and also the side table/drawer units, the dust gave me problems. It was quite obvious that no attempt had been made to clean these in a long time. The design is stupid for a guest-house setting, but, if it has to be, then vacuum it! (There were other areas as well that needed some oversight). The bathroom had a very noisy extractor fan; the shower cannot be used 'hands-free' by people less than 2m tall, the towel rail was about to fall on the floor and the door could not be closed. Breakfast is not available before 9am - I was working, so had to find somewhere else even for coffee. In comparison with Spain where I live, I would rate it about 5/10 : in France, I think it maybe deserves about 7/10.
Review 2:The location is good and the staff very helpful and pleasant. The restaurant produces quite good food, well presented, and the prices are reasonable. The atmosphere was good and I enjoyed my stay of two nights duration - I ate there both nights. The first impressions are very positive, and an effort has been made to make a good ambiance. The breakfast patio is pleasant, and it was nice to sit on the street eating dinner and watching the world go by. The service was quite attentive if not very proactive. I would stay here again as I think the people make the place, and they made me feel welcome.
Review 3:No facilities to dry wet towels when you come off the beach. Pedestrian road noisy in the morning with delivery lorries
Review 4:Friendly welcome, accommodating staff. Central location, attractive decor.
Review 5:Parking is difficult.
Review 6:Quelle bonne table!
Review 7:No parking near the hotel
Review 8:Didn't get the chance to even view the hotel, there was no parking available within a close distance. The satnav took us to another street entirely so we had to look for the local tourism office for help in trying to locate the hotel. The lady there said there was no parking available and one would have to park in the central car park and walk more than 300 metres with one's luggage. No good for those of us who are unable to walk this far!! Therefore unfortunately we've had to pay for a room we were unable to get to and therefore had to quickly ask the tourism office to look for another hotel at very short notice. This unfortunately cost us more money but was an excellent hotel and in a much quieter environment.
Review 9:the fact that when you arrive at 1.00pm they announce they can arrive at 5.30pm only!! The wifi did not work. the breakfast served from 9.30 am?!
Review 10:the price is very good.
Review 11:The staff were not very friendly. The room that we had was noisy, both from the people in the street and the ceiling was thin so we could hear the people upstairs. The bathroom door did not close.
Review 12:The location was good, situated in a pretty street lined with restaurants and clothes shops all the way to the beach. The Provencal restaurant looked quaint and on the sunday it was full of French which is a good sign.
Review 13:We parked fine on streets 5 mins away but in busy times this may be tricky but there are paying car parks nearby.
Review 14:This is a great little hotel right in the heart of this busy seaside area - just one road up from the canal leading to beach. Is got real charm and has been recently redecorated throughout in muted tones. The room was quite spacious compared to most French hotels and everything new and fresh in room. We did not eat in hotel but it looked the the most stylish and best in area - which is usual mix of brash touristy shops but beach looked well kept and inviting. We felt we probably had the best hotel in area for an excellent price.
Review 15:The room turned out to be much smaller than it appeared in the photo Couldn't access the room till 5.30pm Were told breakfast was from 7.30am onwards. At 8am there was no-one around in the hotel. We ended up going out for breakfast, and were later told breakfast was from 9am onwards. Had to park the car a long way from the hotel and walk with out luggage to the hotel
Review 16:The room was comfortable and clean
Review 17:On a restricted street where you can't unload car or park. Parking three blocks away.
Review 18:Beautiful room, central location, but quiet in the late evening. Wonderful restaurant. Helpful and friendly staff.
Review 19:The initial welcome could have been more welcoming.
Review 20:We loved the location and our family room. The waiting staff were very good.
