Reviews for Molesworth Manor

Review 1:Nothing

Review 2:We were greeted with a smile , checked in very swiftly , given plenty of information and even helped book a taxi for our Anniversary meal at the seafood resturant in Padstow. Especially as it was the same weekend as the Christmas Festival this was greatly appreciated. The room we stayed in was lovely , comfortable , plenty of selection of teas and coffees and a nice comfy bed . Breakfast had plenty of selection, cereal , fruit , yogurt , cooked breakfast and fresh home baked muffins . We will be back

Review 3:There was nothing I didn't like.

Review 4:Brilliant location , wonderful old manor. Beautifully and comfortably furnished. Breakfast serve by helpful and polite staff. Breakfast cooked beautifully well. Local food used. Just a brilliant place. We would go back and stay there again.

Review 5:The lounges were lovely but the fire was only lit on the first evening

Review 6:The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent, the honesty bar was also a very nice touch.

Review 7:Molesworth Manor is a beautiful house with a number of original features. The breakfast menu was varied & included home made produce. Environmentally friendly

Review 8:There was nothing that we didn't like!

Review 9:Lovely warm welcome from Jessica as soon as we arrived. Was shown around and was told where everything was. We were also given fresh milk in a flask for our tea and coffee in the room which was a lovely touch. Lovely room (incredible bathroom) and perfect location. Breakfast was lovely as well!

Review 10:great location and setting, off the road so quiet, double rooms excellent space and well furnished, single (twin) less so. For a group it was great to use the generous and lovely sitting rooms with honesty bar and an open fire. Breakfast good for veggies.

Review 11:Nothing to dislike.

Review 12:Beautiful setting, house and welcome. Friendly, professional and helpful. Large bedroom and bathroom, spotless and beautifully furnished. Quiet location. Lots of hot water. Freshly cooked breakfast in delightful conservatory. A real gem.

Review 13:Everything.The staff were great, pleasant and very helpful. The owners Geoff and Jess were lovely and you were made to feel very at home. The breakfasts were great including the fantastic marmalade. Our room was very comfortable and spacious.Ideally situated for site seeing.Look forward to visiting again. again

Review 14:Perfect place to stay. We were in the 'Cook's Room' (sadly for only one night) and loved it. Beautiful and immaculate decor, lovely sense of history, delicious breakfasts, very thoughtful owners and charming waitress at breakfast. Highly recommend.

Review 15:The owners did not introduce themselves even when I asked the lady if she was the owner, she said yes and that was it. We found out later the family were off to France the next day but it still would have been nice to have a chat to the owners. Such a pity they were so offhand. It was annoying not having wifi in our room.

Review 16:The property is very nice. We did like the breakfasts. We were served tea in the garden when we arrived, which was a nice touch. Also nice to have the honesty bar as there were 4 of us staying which made it more fun. I cannot remember her name, but the lady looking after Molesworth Manor when the owners went away was excellent.

Review 17:For our comfort the mattress was too firm & passing traffic noise was intrusive if you like to sleep with a window open.

Review 18:Stunning period Manor House, with spacious rooms that were all tastefully decorated & furnished.

Review 19:When I was paying the bill, the gentleman was not very friendly. I made a little comment that most would have laughted at and he was extremely sullen. Very little interaction with both of the hosts. Thought they could have been a little friendlier.

Review 20:Character of the house. The breakfast was just spectacular. Our waitress was so lovely. The drawing rooms were beautiful and I love the honesty bar. Such an amazing house.

Review 21:ONly issue would have been the breakfast time was limited and therefore resulted in us having to wait some time for our breakfast - would recommend that they extend this from 8.30-10.00 on a Sunday check out which would help with ensuring that you don't have everyone at the same time

Review 22:Style and decor, including space in the room was to a very high standard.

Review 23:Nothing not to like!!

Review 24:Location was great and the walk to Padstow was lovely. Breakfast was fab and staff really helpful and friendly. Loved the honesty bar in the lounge and would definitely stay again.

Review 25:The bed was too soft for us, the staff were very helpful in trying to offer us a different room but the bed was the same. But this didn't put us off

Review 26:The homemade marmalade was very good and when we asked if they sold it, they offered us a free jar. Great service.

Review 27:No wifi in rooms and at £118.00 per night it should come free.

Review 28:Beautiful setting. Stunning building, friendly and personable staffand the gardens were a delight.

Review 29:dead fly in bathroom light fitting - although 4 night stay small soap bar/shower gel were not replaced nor still mineral water. I called room 'shabby chic' -my wife said shabby!

Review 30:Location was good - breakfast lovely - building splendid although sash window did not open at the top only bottom.

Review 31:had to drive to pubs/restaurants since road is treacherous on foot, hard to manoeuvre my van into drive

Review 32:staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was superb

Review 33:There was no wifi in the rooms but this made us use the lounges more.

Review 34:In a word: superb. Traditional manorhouse style, highest degree of comfort and style. Welcoming hosts, lovely lounges, breakfast room in conservatory and beautiful garden. Breakfast was excellent with fresh, local produce and I very much enjoyed a peaceful hour with a drink from the self-service the bar and interesting books in the lounge.

Review 35:What a super place to stay. Pot of tea on arrival. Honesty book for the bar. Delightful owners and happy staff at breakfast. Can't ask for much more in Cornwall - except perhaps a little more sun.....

Review 36:It was great to stay in such an interesting building. Guests have the feel of staying in the whole house. The walk to padstow was brilliant, sustained by the wonderful breakfast.

Review 37:Absent hosts. Very impersonal. One small piece of soap for 3 day stay.

Review 38:Large room, big bath. Good hanging space. Tea, coffee and biscuits renewed daily, with fresh milk available for room. Good breakfast served by smiling and helpful staff.

Review 39:We never had a bad experience but did both think the price for B&B is slightly higher than we would normally pay. Having said that we new the price before we went so thats why this is only an observation and not a negative.

Review 40:Charming location, perfect quiet setting. Excellent service and staff. Breakfast was amazing. We had the Butler Room and were very happy with it.

Review 41:The bed wasn't the comfiest I've ever slept in, however it wasn't uncomfortable so this isn't really a negative, just the least positive thing for us.

Review 42:The location is great, the staff were helpful, the building was characterful and interesting and the breakfast was delicious.

Review 43:We had booked to stay here, sadly, upon arrival we find there had been a double booking and we were the ones to leave. However saying that, staff were most apologetic, providing us with afternoon tea while finding alternative accommodation for us. Even sent us on our way with a lovely bottle of Pinot noir. Thanks so much.

Review 44:A bit too far to walk into Padstow unless you r a keen walker. Very low wifi signal. Bed gave me stiff back. Large communal spaces lacked cosiness.

Review 45:Friendly, clean, lovely old building. Pretty surroundings short drive to Padstow. Spacious rooms with most facilities. Bathrooms are fresh and have new looking furniture in keeping with building

Review 46:The WiFi signal was on offer only in the lounge, and the available bandwidth was so poor that it meant there wasn't any internet. My mobile signal was enough to scrape by.

Review 47:Everything apart for the Internet access - location, welcome, environment. I stayed one night and left before breakfast so couldn't comment on the food.

Review 48:The relaxed, quiet atmosphere. The 'honesty' drinks table with excellent selection. The delicious breakfast with unusual and homemade items

Review 49:The bed was a double and too small for a mature couple! Every time one of us moved, the mattress was not firm enough and we had a sleepless night. The pillows were uncomfortable too. Also there was only a foot for me to walk around the side of the bed as it was squashed into a tight section of wall. A rather dangerous & narrow drive up to the house and right on the main road making it rather hazardous.

Review 50:However the bedroom was attractively decorated, spacious and a generous bathroom ensuite with separate loo. The room was very clean and the owner gave us a warm welcome on arrival with a tray of tea. It was good having a drawing room downstairs with TV and lots of books and papers to read. The breakfast was delicious.

Review 51:Wifi doesn't reach to the bedrooms.

Review 52:Geoff and Jess were a lovely couple with loads of advice on things to see and do. The house had a comforting feel to it and we both relaxed quickly into our break.

Review 53:Clean, friendly, only a short distance from Padstow in a taxi. We were early for check-in, the staff made us a pot of tea and sat us in a beautiful garden and hurried our room along for us.

Review 54:The shower cubicle was very small with overhead shower fitment. It was very difficult to shower easily as I had to stand in the very corner of the cubicle to wash to avoid the water. Not very comfortable!

Review 55:Very warm welcome by lovely people. Small but comfortable room. Comfortable beds. Good public areas. A lovely old manor house. We were welcomed with tea in sitting room.

Review 56:We were put up in the former Maid's Room, which was too small for two people. At no time were we notified that this was not an en-suite room. If we were made aware of this we would not have booked at this establishment. At £88.00 per night, this did not represent good value in our opinion.

Review 57:Good location for Padstow and very good breakfast.

Review 58:Lovely period property 2 miles from Padstow in tranquil village, spacious room with large bathroom very well presented, comfortable wrought iron bed and free WiFi, great breakfast with a different special each morning, would definitely go back and recommend to friends, owner made us tea on arrival in lovely lounge area.

Review 59:Only one room left when booking made so limited experience of full experience. Good view from the bathroom window!

Review 60:Friendly staff, freedom to come and go, close to amenities and good restaurants.

Review 61:Myself and my husband had the best time at Molesworth manor! Extremely friendly welcome, and instantly put at ease in a comfortable beautiful establishment

Review 62:Wi-Fi was limited to downstairs rooms. This could be easily fixed.

Review 63:Wonderful staff (and proprietors). Beautiful, home-like building. Fabulous breakfasts!! I would come again anytime.

Review 64:Beautiful old house which was warm and made us very comfortable. Just like being at home and we were very well looked after, especially with a good choice of lovely breakfasts. The staff were lovely people who we had a great rapport with. It was a lovely stay and we will go again.

Review 65:Wifi only available downstairs currently, I understand that super fast broadband is in the pipeline.

Review 66:Very comfortable, lovely breakfast, beautiful house.

Review 67:The quirky window in the Butlers room, the lovely hot bath, the decent size mugs and selection of drinks, the very helpful and kind staff, the history and stories of the house and surroundings. The way the building has been so beautifully kept and the little touches like fresh milk.

Review 68:it was difficult to walk and from to without a car

Review 69:a very beautiful manor house oozing history and maintained with lots of love care and respect for the environment, attention to details, excellent healthy breakfast, warm hospitality.

Review 70:Nothing.

Review 71:Lovely house in a lovely location, close to all of the beaches and coves. Was so cosy and we spent an evening sat by the open fire listening to some chilled out tunes.... Perfect

Review 72:I liked everything

Review 73:The hosts at Molesworth manor went out of their way to make sure we were welcome.Lovely cooked Cornish breakfasts and delicious home made cakes.

Review 74:We were in the Butlers room above the kitchen and there was a strong smell of cooking pervading our room morning and evening. An extractor van on the stairs would help.

Review 75:A beautiful grand old building. The owners very relaxed but keen to please and make the stay enjoyable. Fantastic visitors lounge and brilliant breakfast.

Review 76:quite tricky turning right from the drive

Review 77:the sitting rooms were a lovely place to relax in the evening with a very reasonably priced drink from the bar, breakfast in the conservatory was excellent and plentiful great hosts and beautiful area

Review 78:WiFi rarely worked Initially in a room that was small for the daily rate of £128 and bed although advertised as standard double clearly wasn't (smaller). Thought it over the top to be charged £2.50 for a morning coffee!

Review 79:Unusual settings

Review 80:Nothing what so ever.

Review 81:Lovely country house hotel, great owners, beautifully restored. Fantastic location for Padstow, and all the surrounding beaches.

Review 82:Leaving!! Could have easily stayed here longer.

Review 83:Fascinating Manor, full of interesting detail. Comfortable room, lovely breakfast and friendly, helpful hosts.

Review 84:Nothing I didn't like it was perfect.

Review 85:Beautiful stay in a comfortable, extremely well looked after Manor House. Fabulous room and a real decadent treat, well worth the money.

Review 86:Everything was excellent. The breakfasts were superb with a great choice; the two lounges downstairs were a fantastic place to sit, read, listen to music, DVDs etc. Loved the fresh milk we could take to the room instead of UHT. Staff so friendly and caring. The rooms were very well presented and the south room had a most magnificent bathroom. Plenty of space to sit in the room - cannot fault Molesworth Manor at all. Thank you for a great three days. Will recommend this place, and if back in the area, we will return.

Review 87:You had to work out how to get the overhead shower to come on which we found by accident. I can imagine that many guests would opt for the hand held shower rather than push the chrome knob in and put the handle to the right to get this working because no information was to hand

Review 88:Location Staff Room Bed Facilities Peace and quiet from the madness of Padstow

Review 89:Having to leave!

Review 90:Comfort class accommodation with superb , carefully sourced food and friendliness. It felt like staying in a top hotel with the attention to detail. We would highly recommend.

Review 91:The weather !! Other other than that it was avert pleasant stay. I would recommend it.

Review 92:The house and location are perfect. We only had a very small room as booked last min I'm sure the bigger double rooms are very nice. I would defiantly go back.

Review 93:Seems invidious to say anything negative, but breakfast took a long time to come (and coffee was very weak). Minor quibbles about a wonderful place.

Review 94:House, size of room, friendly staff, location and grounds. In fact almost everything. Very large amount of local info and suggestions from owner. Lovely coffe in room and real milk to put in it! Chaises longues and carved staircase!

Review 95:Our room was quite small (for the price)and there were too many unnecessary pieces of furniture, there wasn't really anywhere to put our suitcase! The breakfast room was cramped, tables too close together and did not make for a comfortable experience, though the breakfast was tasty.

Review 96:The location was great

Review 97:Great stay. in his Lordship's room. Jeff, the owner, was very friendly and great with restaurant recommendations. His wife cooked a great breakfast! There are few staff so nobody is intrusive, but all our needs were catered for. You feel like you have the manor all to yourself... and it's beautiful. It also has plenty of space to find your own space and relax or to chat to other guests around the honesty bar. Absolutely nothing to fault. Would recommend to anybody as a great place to stay in a lovely picturesque village; a short drive from Padstow (or nice leisurely walk - Jeff provides the route in a very informative brochure). I would strongly recommend staying here. Worth every penny. S & S, July 2014

Review 100:What an amazing property. The staff were friendly, the room was fantastic and breakfast was delicious. Would definitely recommend and would return :-)

Review 101:Literally being super picky but if I had to pick something it's that the bed was very small in South Room. Also parking not easiest on a busy weekend
