Reviews for The Royal Yacht

Review 1:The room needed a bit of tlc, and when we booked it was about 1 week before the gala was mentioned, so we asked if we could pay the difference and told no..which was a shame as it was our first new year together and we were just looking forward to a lovely meal and evening together.

Review 2:We did ask for a balcony which we were disappointed to see that we didn't have one after spending £180 on a room. It was also very noisy so didn't get much sleep. We pre ordered our breakfast (£5 each) and shocked that we didn't even get what we ordered along with other guests that said the same, disappointing.

Review 3:The room was lovely and big, and spa facilities were nice and relaxing

Review 4:The Royal Yacht is a beautiful hotel and in a perfect location for shopping, dining and exploring the island (we were very lucky to have beautiful weather in December!). The spa is amazing and the rooms just perfect (we had a gold double room, which we found we had been upgraded to when we arrived! Our room was also ready at 10am when we went to the hotel just to drop our luggage. A 10am check in is unheard of in London where we live, so we were hugely grateful, not to mention excited we had been upgraded.). I must also mention that we paid £210 for the two nights we were there, (which was three days as we arrived early and left in the evening) with breakfast. We were both amazed at the value for money!!....a hotel of that standard in London would cost hundreds for one night let alone two, and for this we got to stay on a gorgeous island. The staff at the Royal Yacht are lovely and so helpful. Special mention to the staff at Zephyr, Francisca the head waitress was so welcoming and helpful at getting us a table when we did not have a booking, most of the restaurants outside the hotel were closed as it was bank holiday on the day we arrived, so we came back to the hotel and she was an absolute star!....the food was amazing!....in fact we did not have one bad experience in any restaurant in Jersey, they definitely know their food :) my boyfriend and I had an altogether perfect stay at The Royal Yacht and will be returning as soon as we can!

Review 5:Was disappointed with the room I knew it was one of the cheaper ones and it was clean, but there was no view and it was small with only a shower it spoilt what was a special wedding anniversary even though this was mentioned on the booking.

Review 6:The hotel ,spa and breakfasts are excellent

Review 7:Very noises outside room from people in the street. I moved room for last night due to noise,

Review 8:Liked the location, having the spa was lovely and variety of restaurants good.

Review 9:The bar appears to be a popular attraction at the weekend and is quite noisy. Having said that it did not in any way have an affect on our stay.

Review 10:The welcome was friendly and informative. My wife took full advantage of the pool and would have used the facilities more if we had had time. The location is central and handy for whatever you wish to do.

Review 11:Bedroom small and bathroom tiny with nowhere to hang wet towels, bathrobes or store toiletries.

Review 12:Great location, brilliant atmosphere and helpful staff.

Review 13:Overlooking a lovely square, marred by St Helier setting up Father Christmas / winter wonderland marquee (in October). It would be nice if children could use the pool? Perhaps have family time. To compensate the hotel does offer complimentary tickets to the local pool, including water slides (5 min walk)

Review 14:Lively and central location.

Review 15:Stayed in old part of hotel, some noise coming from street. Also air conditioning noisy. Room 325 bathroom a bit tight with shower over bath, also very sharp corner on shower screen could cause injury if you bent down too fast.

Review 16:Food was excellent. Staff very friendly. Room very clean.

Review 17:Nothing

Review 18:Staff friendly and efficient. First time I found gluten free cereals offered as standard. Room spacious. Excellent en suite with fluffy towels replaced frequently. Spa excellent with good size indoor pool. Appreciated being able to drop off luggage on arrival and collect later on departure. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Review 19:The bedroom whilst a nice room it was small for a double. We could not have stayed in this room for longer than the booked two nights.

Review 20:Nice breakfast and fab health suite

Review 21:Can sometimes be quite noisy but that is also part of the whole atmosphere so not too much of a problem. On the first night we waited a long time for drinks as there was only one bartender in the posh bar which was very busy, we waited half an hour for one drink.

Review 22:We liked the variety of places to eat within the hotel. The atmosphere was vibrant and the staff very helpful. The rooms are lovely and comfortable and it is a very relaing environment.

Review 23:I did not the fact you were supposed to go down to spa in robe. I preferred to go in own clothes and change in changing rooms and use robes provided in locker. There was a great choice for breakfast, but found that some of the food ie sausages, black pudding and scrambled eggs were undercooked. Also the staff were very polite but I felt that they were not allowed to interact with customers and looked very serious at all times.

Review 24:I liked the location and the cleaning service was fantastic. The maids were always polite. The spa was great and the spa staff were very friendly.

Review 25:Our first room was far to small for two people staying for a week.We did not think this room for a 4star hotel was adequate for two persons.pl

Review 26:Location of hotel was excellent near bus station. After walking all day the spa was brilliant to relax and the staff were all very friendly.breakfast was also very good.

Review 27:Nothing but good

Review 28:Have stayed here before, so that is why we chose The Royal Yacht for our anniversary, absolute brilliant, staff, food everything. We hope to visit again in August.

Review 29:The room was one of the tiniest I have ever seen. You have to go into the bathroom sideways and you coul wash your face in the sink whilst sitting on the toilet. There is no bath. The room had no space for a case. Although the bed was double, it is pushed up against the dressing table, so when your head is on the pillow, it is beside two electric sockets! The only room for the TV was on the wall and you look out onto a brick wall!

Review 30:The spa facilities and a beautiful breakfast

Review 31:Shower needs attention, difficult to have a shower without flooding bathroom. Left our luggage for collection later and very surprised and disappointed to find it left in a corridor out of sight of staff. When we went back to collect simply wheeled it out of the hotel - no checks or security.

Review 32:Great location, gold rooms quiet and spacious.

Review 33:Stayed in the old building.room was small no bath not worth the money they charge per night.matress rock hard. The room was very very tiny and the bathroom was very small.

Review 34:Great spa and pool

Review 35:The breakfast on first 2 days (Tues and Wed) was not great, new chef on Thursday and the breakfast was much better. Other then that, a nice hotel in a good location.

Review 36:Very helpful staff. Made you feel welcome. Good room.

Review 37:This is about the fifth time I have stayed at the hotel now, its a wonderful, laidback place to stay in a great location. Would highly recommend anyone to try the royal yacht, its excellent and will be back soon. Thank you

Review 38:Boisterous and drunken groups of young men shouting in bar - could hear them from our balcony!

Review 39:Good service, consistent high standards, brilliant balcony (platinum double), comfortable balcony furniture, (hardly ever the norm elsewhere!). Good standards of decor, but can see signs of some tiredness.

Review 40:Nothing. It was all great.

Review 41:The hotel was excellent, the food was superb and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We intend to return to this hotel as everything about our stay was first class.

Review 42:The relaxed friendly atmosphere , great food , went out for a long weekend last year on my birthday and returned this year on my birthday and will go back next year on my birthday .

Review 43:WIFI signal a little weak in my room, some late night noise from the club below but to be expected really

Review 44:Friendly staff and very handy for town centre, great breakfast!

Review 45:Spa treatments all fully booked and had to go to another hotel!

Review 46:Access to bars and restaurants. Nice to sit outside for a drink with the heaters on. Platinum room had great facilities and lovely balcony & blue Christmas tree - very pretty!

Review 47:We were given a dirty room and promised a rose petal turn down that we never actually recevied. The majority of the staff where moody- especially the man who showed us to our table at breakfast and the staff at the front desk. The customer service as a whole was poor.

Review 48:The spa and facilities where great and the staff at the spa were fantastic! Very welcoming, calm and just lovely.

Review 49:Honestly cannot think of anything!

Review 50:Everything! Proximity to liberation square for transport/shopping. Spa facilities some of the best I have seen. Staff welcoming and helpful. Breakfast plentiful and varied and lots of choices for dining (though we didn't eat here as meeting elswhere). As an OT who works in stroke rehab I was delighted to see hotel is supporting The Stroke Association-well done! We will be back :)

Review 51:The bed was hard. Big Negative is that this turns into a nightclub from Thursday until sunday and even though we were on the 4th floor the noise vibrated the bed!! Not good when you are on business and have to get up early.

Review 52:The location the outdoor spaces! fab choice of restaurents

Review 53:Fantastic Location, rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Staff were all very helpful and made the stay very enjoyable. There was something for everyone at this hotel and will definitely return

Review 54:Lack of towel rails in bathroom!

Review 55:Friendly and efficient staff, a great spa in which to end a long day, and generally good facilities. Overall, a first-rate hotel.

Review 56:Loud music on the Friday and Saturday nights was disturbing into early hours.

Review 57:The Spa facilities, the decor and lighting in the whole hotel. Friendly staff. Excellent food in the restaurant. Good cocktails too.

Review 58:Absolutely nothing - a fantastic break away.

Review 59:Room 305 excellent premier room. Sirocco restaurant Staff very helpful & polite. Spa to die for.... Scrummy breakfast

Review 60:First night we the noise outside the hotel was awful until 3am. We were relocated the next day into a very small room, barely a double. Considering we booked for the week why were we put in such a noisy room.

Review 61:The spa facilities were excellent

Review 62:The bed was a problem i thought it was my back, but my girlfriend had the same problem, just hope it was that room 403 because the hotel doesn't warrant a bad vibe.

Review 63:Every single thing is perfect with this hotel location is possibly the best i have ever stayed, if you like a drink this is the place for you,but one thing spoilt it.

Review 64:When i booked in the room offered was rather small but i was offered an alternative very quickly with grace and a smile so weel done the Royal Yacht

Review 65:Apart from a fabulous location the atmosphere in the terrace resturant was excellent, great for people watching, fab service and lovely staff

Review 66:We stayed in the original part of the hotel and there was a fair amount of noise from the street and the bar until closing time but nothing unbearable

Review 67:Enjoyed the spa and pool very much and the breakfast was second to none

Review 68:regular visitor usually 3 times a year staff never make you feel like a returned customer I realise the have many customers but it might be advisable to just keep records to make a customer feel welcome

Review 69:love the location variety of restaurants

Review 70:Parking is a premium in St Helier so you had to use a Pay Card Car Park up the hill. Our room in the old part of the hotel was a little on the small side, but fine if you are tidy!

Review 71:A perfect location in St Helier, overlooking the harbour. The bars and restaurants in the hotel accommodated varying tastes and needs - quieter or very lively! The staff were all friendly and helpful. A very good, relaxed breakfast with an option to sit out on the first floor terrace.

Review 72:Poor wifi connection Cooked breakfast could be hotter Cost of food in Scirocco restaurant

Review 73:Location was excellent just a two minute walk from the bus station. Good restaurants and bars. lovely spa with fantastic staff and free access to guests with options to pay for treatments. Friendly and helpful staff

Review 74:The pillows were way too soft for my liking which didn't make for a good night's sleep...

Review 75:The spa facilities were superb, as was the breakfast choice.

Review 76:Unfortunately the manager of reception was rude, uninterested ( asking how our stay was and then saying, good before we had a chance to finish a sentence) and had terrible customer service. I had a couple of issues before we even arrived. I had booked four rooms for a group of us who was travelling to Jersey for a party. On our arrival the first thing Gemma, the reservation manager did was shook my hand and then " so what are we going to do about the no show yesterday"! One I hadn't made the booking she was talking about and two I was gob smacked to be approached in such a manor when just arriving at a hotel. Needless to say I wasn't happy. My other family and I who had paid 145.00 per room for one night were given rooms that I can only describe as old fashioned shoe boxes. The hotel has a brand new part that is suppose to be stunning, unfortunately due to me " answering back" to Gemma we were given 2 star rooms. My sister did manage to get her room changed but when my aunty complained about her room she was told by Gemma there are no rooms left ( even though we know that on reception you are constantly juggling rooms around until the last bookings arrive)! My aunty was also told and if you don't like your room sought it out between yourselves, an absolute disgrace. Would I ever stay there again? NO WAY! Go to the Raddisson where the staff are welcoming and the rooms are cheaper and would knock spots off the royal yacht. We thought we would change n try a different hotel because it was in town, never again, avoid Gemma like the plague!!!!!!!!

Review 77:The breakfast and breakfast staff were great. The position of the hotel was good as was the food.

Review 78:We loved the hotel but admit to being a wee bit disappointed in the size of our silver room which we will kindly describe as bijou

Review 79:The royal Yacht is an excellent hotel and in particular we liked dining in the Zephyr where the food and atmosphere were great.

Review 80:The hotel bars that we went to were a bit dark, and one was closed - not making the most of the views the hotel has to offer. One of them was better, and looked out over the square, but we found it better to go out into St Helier for bars. The wi-fi was also no good - kept disconnecting and had a very weak signal

Review 81:The room was really comfortable, with a balcony that looked out over the square towards the marina. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was quiet, despite being in a busy area. The cooked breakfast was lovely - the best we've had in any hotel.

Review 82:Spacious rooms, central location, great staff, excellent breakfast. Having said that, that is what we paid for. It wasn't cheap, but it lived up to the price

Review 83:Can't think of anything!

Review 84:Spa facilities superb, all restaurants and bars are very good value and high quality, staff attentive but not overbearing. The rooms are comfortable and the hotel close to town. There is something for everyone, come rain or shine - we will be back.

Review 85:Our room was towards the back of the hotel and quite late in the evening the noise of bottles being emptied into the refuse bins was rather annoying. The cooked breakfast was luke warm most mornings and I did not appreciate being shouted at by the chef as to whether I wanted eggs! He was very abrupt most mornings. Not what I expect from a 4 * hotel.

Review 86:We loved the central location and because we decided not to hire a car,the bus station was a very short walk away.

Review 87:We did not like the bars. The front bar was busy & pretentious (unusual for Jersey). And the service in all the bars was diabolical. Lovely hotel but my advice is do not use the bars, overpriced with shoddy service!

Review 88:We loved the Spa, great to pamper ourselves in the Spa after a long day out & about. Also the breakfast in Scirocco was excellent, lovely dining outdoors on the balcony.

Review 89:Sometime the square in front could get noisy at night

Review 90:The spa was 1st rate - we had a couples massage fantastic value and used the spa daily - room was very clean a little on the small side but confutable - bars were good and breakfast again excellent

Review 91:People on adjoining balcony smoking - constantly. Stopped us getting any good use of the balcony which we had paid extra for! Didn't like the outdoor restaurant on the ground floor.Too noisy.

Review 92:Lovely room, spacious, stylish. SPA - the best spa facilities I have had, especially the monsoon shower and the relaxation room. Food good in both the scirocco and the grill. Good breakfast and good attentive staff.

Review 93:Restaurant was a lovely experience, the team were very friendly and looked after us as we celebrated our wedding anniversary. The relaxing pool & spa were a real pleasure. A great balcony, with lots to view.

Review 94:Excellent all round, the staff were also excellent

Review 95:Room not as modern as the exterior of building

Review 96:Views, comfort, tv in the bath

Review 97:Would highly recommend.

Review 98:In house bars and spa.

Review 99:Room, balcony views, atmosphere. Food.

Review 100:So close to the shops and harbour. Found it so easy to travel to the airport. Would definitely recommend it to my friends

Review 101:Excellent

Review 102:Overall good experience

Review 103:Small sized room - lack of storage - no bath

Review 104:Central seafront location - obliging friendly staff - good breakfast

Review 105:Everyone was polite courteous and extremely helpful. Good range of restaurants and excellent food . Sorry could not find fault

Review 106:I asked for my girlfriends name to be spelled with roses and they did it for me, as we walked in to the room there it was in the bed!! Amazing

Review 107:Very small room with very small bed

Review 108:Very good spa

Review 109:Room had unpleasant smell

Review 110:Breakfast service area could be more stretched out

Review 111:Location

Review 112:Service, real, genuine, helpful, pleasant service. Great location, great price, great facilities. What's not to like!

Review 113:It was all good

Review 114:Staff in Reception were always helpful.

Review 115:everything

Review 116:Aircon loud, and controlled by reception.

Review 117:Great location, awesome gym

Review 118:Not being able to walk around the bed in order to get into the bed I had to climb over

Review 119:small room

Review 120:Good location, nice size rooms, friendly staff. Will return to the yacht Hotel when I visit Jersey again.

Review 121:Nothing at all to complain about

Review 122:Central location together with modern facilities. Staff were friendly and helpful

Review 123:Attention to detail was superb. Staff were polite and informative . Facilities were excellent.

Review 124:small bed and unhelpful receptionist

Review 125:restaurants & bars

The Fine Print

Children under 16 years old are not allowed to use the spa, including the swimming pool. The hotel does provide children’s passes for Aquasplash, a local facility that has a pool and water slides. The Aquasplash is a 5-minute walk away.
