Reviews for Grassington House
Review 1:We liked everything!
Review 2:We really enjoyed our break at Grassington House Hotel. Everyone was pleasant, helpful and professional. We were also very happy with our room and view.
Review 3:The bathroom was not of the same standard has the bedroom and everytime you walked near the wardrobe it wobbled about.we were not keen on the amount of selection on the food! Breakfast was so small.
Review 4:Loved the bedroom and the surrounding area. The bed was so comfy and the room was nice.
Review 5:Our double bath had dirty and stained grouting on the tiles along the front, which was unfortunately the first thing we noticed when we walked into the otherwise lovely bathroom. The carpet in the bedroom was very worn and needs replacing. Not in keeping with the standard we were expecting
Review 6:We arrived in the middle of a particularly bad storm and were pleased to find the hotel and our room were lovely and warm! We had a lovely view of the square
Review 7:We thoroughly enjoyed our two days at the hotel. Our room was rather small but beautifully decorated & furnished.
Review 8:Really enjoyed an old fashioned breakfast experience where everything was brought to the table, fresh & beautifully prepared. We also enjoyed two excellent evening meals in the restaurant.
Review 9:Room was far too small for a double bed and ensuite, and considering the cost a bit disappointing. The decor in the room was tacky, like a naff hairdressers. The bed was far too small for two and very uncomfortable, we got no sleep. Need the taste police in.
Review 10:Great location in the centre of Grassington. The food we had was good, if a bit pricey.
Review 11:Left hanging around in reception whilst they took a phone call whilst we were waiting to check in. It was also quite cold in the dinning area.
Review 12:Staff and food very good
Review 13:Not sure if it knows what kind of hotel it is ?. Bar is not comfortable or welcoming and dinning room very dark /heavy
Review 14:Location of Hotel. Good parking
Review 15:Nothing to say
Review 16:A problem with the booking that the staff went out of their way to resolve even though it wasn't their fault. Beautiful location and excellent breakfast
Review 17:Problems with the internet connection on the day It would be good to have a bar area away from noisy locals
Review 18:Loved the room - Square The evening meal was excellent and the wine list too. Service was excellent but not overpowering. The breakfast was really freshly cooked to order, crispy bacon & well cooked tomatoes & waiter, Adam was extremely pleasant and well trained.
Review 19:Situated in a lovely village with beautiful walks from the hotel. Small, interesting shops with reasonably priced goods. Attentive and professional staff with good food and comfortable rooms.
Review 20:the bedroom windows (room 11) need repair, shower room door did not close on the handle & had to be bolted to keep closed, breakfast marmalade too runny
Review 21:Comfortable but not fussy regime & food good
Review 22:While the restaurant was excellent and I really recommend it, I think the accommodation was a bit pricey for what you get.
Review 23:Hotel housed in a quaint building in a pretty village square. Fabulous breakfast with quality ingredients.. a real treat. We booked into the restaurant for dinner, and this was also gorgeous. Service brilliant.
Review 24:The pillows - I hate to criticise, as it was such a lovely hotel but the pillows were far too large & solid for our needs and unfortuately even just using one gave me a stiff neck!
Review 25:Lovely hotel, in beautiful surroundings with very friendly staff & a great breakfast.
Review 26:Wifi was down.
Review 27:Very friendly. Breakfast great and nice location for a walk in the Dales. Left some chocolates for us a lovely Happy Anniversary message.
Review 28:It would have been nice to have a pre- Dinner drink in a ' cocktail bar 'area and not the public bar. However this was not a major issue and appreciate that space is at a premium in a small hotel such as this.We had our drink at the table.
Review 29:The friendly & helpful staff. The attention to detail. The food & service were second to none. It was very handy having a car park so close to the hotel.
Review 30:Was a really hot day and with the room being small there was no air. Maybe a fan in the room would have given us a better night stay.
Review 31:Location fantastic and staff really helpful.
Review 32:We had such a lovely time. The food was fabulous , the room was so comfortable and amazing views of the Dales and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. We will be back!! Thank you.
Review 33:Beautiful room (with a free upgrade - thank you!), lovely location in a very pretty village, superb evening meal in the restaurant with pre dinner drinks sat outside in the glorious sunshine and a great breakfast. My husband says You serve the best black pudding! Very friendly and welcoming staff.
Review 34:Not 100% sure about the open plan bedroom/bathroom. You at least have to be comfortable with your partner to be able to do your ablutions in public
Review 35:Fantastic room with a balcony and huge bath and a huge shower. Loved the added touches of the thermos of fresh milk & homemade cookies in the room.
Review 36:We had a wonderful experience and we definitely stay there again we had a room called the square and it was beautiful with robes and good quality toiletries . The food was excellent very creative and well presented food with a different classic or specially choice each night
Review 37:The pillows were large but there was a thin one in the wardrobe that I did not spot until we were leaving.
Review 38:Excellent Location, staff, decor and food. Loved the chocolates and piped chocolate message wishing us a happy anniversary plus having real coffee available in our room.
Review 39:Twin beds pushed together would have preferred a double bed for better comfort
Review 40:Excellent food and drink, great location and we sampled the other bars in Grassington and found that this was the best.
Review 41:No wi-fi. Said they had a problem, but not fixed.
Review 42:Location in the village square with parking Very clean modern room with tea and real coffee making facilities Very good restaurant & excellent breakfast. Proper bar selling real ale.
Review 43:Nothing
Review 44:The location, room, decor, food and staff were all amazing. The staff are attentive yet not overbearing; the decor is boutique but not ostentatious. If you want to splash out then book room 6 or 10 with a roll top bath in the bedroom
Review 45:Room was small for two people with luggage which had to be carried to second floor (no lift but help was offered).
Review 46:Well decorated rooms with good plumbing. Friendly staff.
Review 47:nothing
Review 48:The attention to detail in this hotel is second to none, our rooom was perfect, luxury bath and great products to use......a real treat !!! The evening meal/breakfast was delightful, great choice and cooked to perfection. The staff friendly and very helpful nothing too much trouble, a very lovely atmosphere throughout the hotel. The location could not be better. We shall certainly be returning.
Review 49:There is no lounge in the hotel so we could have done with a couple of tub chairs in the bedroom. Because of the layout of the hotel, there was a fairly constant flow of staff and tradesmen through the dining room during breakfast time.
Review 50:The location of the hotel. The food was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A great bath in the bedroom.
Review 51:Lovely if somewhat quirky hotel, I don't think many of the rooms have a level floor!! Which all adds to the character of the place. Stylish decor, attention to detail, very helpful & friendly staff. Excellent food.
Review 52:More selection of tea and coffee in the bedroom. The conservatory housing the dining area needs to be double glazed.
Review 53:Possibly the best breakfast I've ever had.
Review 54:The toast was the only thing that we felt was sub-standard.
Review 55:The attention to detail and the standard of finish in the rooms was excellent. The food was delicious and beautifully presented.
Review 56:"Double" room was nicely furnished, but very small for hotel room price. Bed was very small for 2 people. Having to carry 20kg bags up and down to 3rd floor along winding pokey corridors with no elevators. Long wait at breakfast for service.
Review 57:The location and view of Grassington square illuminations is delightful.
Review 58:The staff were so friendly and efficient, the room was beautifully furnished and clean, the hotel was cosy, warm, inviting and fantastically situated. All food was fabulous. I will definitely return.
Review 59:The conservatory area of the restaurant was cold and I needed to go back to the room for extra layer of clothing.
Review 60:Although the room was small it had a lovely view and the space was well thought out. Very nice complementary toiletries.
Review 61:Didnt get the premium room we booked. Booked for a 2 night stay and ended up in a different lesser room each night. They did reduce the cost of the stay, We would have prefered the room we originally booked.
Review 62:The staff were good. The food was good. Location was exellent.
Review 63:Bar too small - no comfortable areas to sit. Bedroom sacrificed comfort for style - no drawers - en suite too small with bath in bedroom which seemed odd
Review 64:Location good and food excellent
Review 65:Sonos sound system installed and yet it was hour upon hour of the same Micheal Buble CD playing over and over!! Aaaarrrghhh!! To be fair the lady owner took on board my tongue-in-cheek criticism, I'm sure they'll sort it
Review 66:Liked/loved virtually everything, a lot of TLC has been invested and it shows, room was very well appointed, tastefully furnished, most requirements covered, the staff are very professional, friendly and helpful, food was very good, well prepared, locally sourced, would most definitely visit again
Review 67:Staff were excellent, helpful and friendly. Wonderful location in the centre of beautiful Grassington. Food was fantastic. My partner has a food allergy and this was handled in a sensitive and subtle manner by the staff. Compliments to the chef who was very happy to accommodate.
Review 68:The White Room was on the small side.
Review 69:The hotel's location in the heart of Grassington, on the old market square, its pleasant and well-kept decor, and good food.
Review 70:Would have been nice to have had a small resident's lounge but this was not a major thing as rooms were well appointed with chairs and tv.
Review 71:Lovely location, friendly staff and rooms and food excellent
Review 72:This hotel is set in a beautiful location with good walking available in close proximity. The rooms are immaculately clean and comfortable with tea & coffee making facilities & home made cookies replenished daily.Everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable was readily available including organic toiletries. All members of staff were helpful & polite;it was apparent that they work very hard to meet all guests requirements. The breakfast menu offers a varied choice of good quality food and is plentiful. We also strongly recommend the restaurant for dinner which also provides a varied menu including vegetarian- all cooked to perfection! This was our second stay at the hotel and we can not praise it enough. We will be back!!
