Reviews for Wellington Farm Guesthouse and Tea Room
Review 1:We were given a very warm welcome and felt rather like we had arrived to stay with family, which was an unexpected surprise. The building was full of character with well appointed rooms and a top notch home grown cooked breakfast. We came to visit lyme Regis which is just 10 minutes drive away so all in all Wellington farm ticked every box for us and we intend to return in the summer.
Review 2:The major road, did interfere with internet connectivity/TV, but wasn't a problem for sleeping that I noticed. Our bed seemed short, as I often had my feet over the edge, and I am 5'8". I am sure other beds were available.
Review 3:We had a warm welcome, and some great breakfasts, it is located on a fairly major road which is great for getting around, had access to a communal lounge, which when you don't want to go out was good.
Review 4:nice cottage with separate lounge for guests and separate breakfast room for hearty meal in the morning! very pleasant landlords, at check in and also at breakfast
Review 5:Marcia and Gary made us feel very welcome and were very helpful in making us a dinner booking in the local area. The rooms were charming and very comfortable, and the showers were hot. Our gluten free needs were very well catered for with a delicious, beautifully cooked breakfast. We stayed one night on our way to Falmouth with our daughter. In the morning we enjoyed meeting the animals and seeing the stunning views from the top of the drive. We would love to visit again.
Review 6:Although the bed was extremely comfortable, we would have preferred a king size.
Review 7:Very hospitable couple running this B&B. Good room with nice hot shower. The breakfast was excellent and beautifully cooked. We were made to feel very welcome. We came away with home made sausages from the on site Farm Shop - lovely!
Review 8:nothing.
Review 9:Marcia and Greg are kind, generous owners. They bought the place four years ago and have updated the b&b very nicely. Super comfortable rooms, great tips for travel, yummy breakfast, and super, friendly experience. Highly recommend! They also have self-catering lodging on the property.
Review 10:No Wifi in the room (contrary to what was specified on booking.com). The noise of the room due to traffic. Our cat was accepted when we arrived at night (and we paid an extra for him) but was then rejected in the morning (contrary to what was specified on booking.com). The rudeness and lack of respect of the owner who kicked us out at 8:00am, before breakfast, because of the cat, threatening us of having called the police. All this after having checked the room and seen that all was clean and in order. And knowing that my wife is 6 months pregnant.
Review 11:This is a good, comfortable B&B run in a quirky/interesting old farmhouse. The breakfast was excellent and the proprietors very friendly. Great value for money
Review 12:Lovely and clean rooms. Very kind staff. Private parking. We slept in this guesthouse just one night on the way to Exeter and we felt welcomed. The guesthouse is close to the road (A35) but there's no noise. Full English breakfast is served in the morning. The staff gave us some good advice for the dinner in the surroundings.
Review 13:The hosts are both extremely friendly and welcoming. The Breakfast was amazing, couldn't have asked for more, or better quality! The room was a good size with a comfy bed, even though we were on the front of the property the noise of the road was cut out very well through the windows.
Review 14:Friendly helpful couple, thanks for the help with our washing, good breakfast but looking forward to coming back when your making your own sausages, though will miss the pigs. A good location for river cottage visitors, and a decent pub just up the road for dinners or drinks. A lovely character building with a good shared lounge.
Review 15:The owners are very cordial and you can feel that they really have fun running their B&B and interacting with guests. Our room was super-nice, farmhouse style, tastefully decorated and simply made you feel at home right away. As the owners run their own little farm and farm shop, most of the delicious things served for breakfast were self-made. The cream tea served here during the day is also totally awesome :-). So far we have been to more than 20 B&Bs in the UK,and this one was beyond doubt the nicest one we have found. Thank you again Marcia and Gary.
Review 16:nothing couldn't fault a thing
Review 17:Marcie and Gary wonderful hosts. as a solo traveller they made me feel very welcome. they were very informative with good recommendations about other places to eat
Review 18:This was a pot luck mini break for me and was a fabulous location great caring owners who made me feel very welcome, very comfortable accommodation with superb breakfasts,
Review 19:there is no en suit but it did not matter
Review 20:i only stayed from 2300 to 800 But every help had been given me Breakfast was excellent Room was comfortable
Review 21:I booked a single room which was clean and comfortable. I thought it may be difficult not having an en suite but the bathroom was next door so there wasn't a problem. The owners were both very welcoming and helpful, I'd recommend without hesitation.
Review 22:The WiFi was a bit slow.
Review 23:We spent a lovely 4 days here, the breakfast was lovely the bes was amazing and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Its a little out the way but a beautiful house and countryside.
Review 24:We booked on the spur of the moment which meant they had to reallocate the rooms to accommodate our little dog which we were really grateful for, they even made sure there was a sausage available for his breakfast. The owners were absolutely lovely and really welcoming; we hope that at some point we can go back there again.
Review 25:Everything that we want in a B&B was here: interesting house, fine room, great breakfasts, but what stood out was our hosts, Marcie & Gary: wonderful people who all by themselves are worth the visit. The hobby farm with pet pigs, sheep, and horses also helps. Ask the hosts about the weird guest who put cut-up spring onions in his breakfast porridge!
Review 26:It was little uncomfortable that the house was situated near rather busy road. Still the owners also have lodges on the hill near the farm
Review 27:Old building with long history and atmosphere. Still the B&B was opened not long ago so all the facilities are quite new. Room was big enough even for three of us with our little daughter. Wi-Fi was also working properly
Review 28:The bed was a little too low for me as I have 2 knee replacements and there was no way off the bed for me except shuffling down to the foot before getting off the bottom end of the bed as it is right against the wall.
Review 29:The hosts are fantastic, beautiful thatched guesthouse, spotlessly clean room with tasteful matching décor, delicious breakfast, gorgeous garden and large grounds with 'mini farm', great location for Devonshire sea fronts and all attractions.
Review 30:Everything was great about my stay and I was made to feel very welcome. In fact, in the morning at breakfast, they played Coldplay's 'Parachutes' album in the background because I was on a skydiving trip nearby at Dunkeswell Airfield. I will be sure to stay here again. It's a beautiful property and a great location.
Review 31:Really the only small complaint was that the shower was tricky to set to the right temperature. Such a small thing that I almost feel bad writing it.
Review 32:Gary and Marcie are amazing hosts who really go out of their way to see your comfortable. The breakfast is great and you have several options. The room was beautifully put together and all aspects of the property are spotlessly clean. It's obvious that the hosts take pride in their set up and that translates to a really great guest experience.
Review 33:Going home
Review 34:Very welcoming nothing was to much trouble. Pigs, sheep and horses to visit. There is a very comfortable lounge for guests use. We had a very enjoyable evening meal at the Restaurant literally over the road.
Review 35:Not much. The guesthouse is being constantly updated so it should be even better when I return!
Review 36:The welcome, the friendliness of the owners, the breakfast, the comfort of the bed.
Review 37:room was cold on arrival , road was busy all night, water in shower was hot and cold ,hot and cold ,,no wi-fi, the decoration a little shabby
Review 38:people nice and friendly , lovely house , food hot, bed nice ,
Review 39:Sadly, we had no chance to try the cream tea! The scones smelled mouth-watering.
Review 40:Beautiful charming grade 2 thatched property in quiet village. Gary and Marcie are wonderfully friendly hosts, delicious breakfast, lovely décor, clean bedroom and bathroom. All facilities very good.
Review 41:For the cost of the rooms I would have liked to have had an on suite toilet, a shower would of been nice but the toilet for me is a really important thing when staying somewhere new. The only other thing that people should really consider is the distance the farm is from anywhere. There is nothing really in walking distance from the farm to be able to get an evening meal so it is a bit of a drive to find anything near by. Which brings me to my final small gripe, unfortunately the Wellington is sat right next to the main road which seems to have traffic at all times running along it. If you're not used to the sound of traffic running throughout the night then it may take a little getting used to. Not allot of bad comments really just a couple of niggles. Neither of which should put anyone off having a stay over, as the pros very much out weigh the cons.
Review 42:If your looking for a home away from home with nice people and a homely feel to the place then look no further. The open door come and go policy is refreshing, the room itself was very nice and well looked after. The breakfast was served at the times they said and with a good choice on the menu, no one can complain that there is nothing for them. The owners and their staff were nothing other than exceptional and made us feel like we were visiting old friends. The added bonus of the mini farm at the back of the cottage was really pleasing, the fact we could go and get close to the animals made our day. If you're staying here try and make the time go and say hi to the piggy in the field, she will have lots to say to you. The parking although a small area is more than big enough to take several cars. Would we go and stay again? the answer is yes.
Review 43:Radiator not attached to wall, bed fixings extremely loose, no towels despite listed in room description.
Review 44:Very welcoming couple, lots of local knowledge. Cook a reasonable breakfast
Review 45:Being so near to road, A35 right out side bedroom window, traffic on it all nite, front step up to cottage from car park a bit uneven & steep for elderly guest, doors got strong springs on so a bit hard to hold open at times & garden in need of a bit of TLC.
Review 46:Lovely breakfeast, nice & clean, bedding soft, bed a bit springy in downstairs double room, nice lounge for evenings.Very friendly hosts Gary always ready for a chat! & Marrisa very sweet, real animal lovers both of them!! Be nice when farm shop open there.A nice old thatched pub up the road, White Hart did pub grub & more not expensive either!
Review 47:An advisory note to put a note on the door if out or phone to go onto a mobile.
Review 48:The peacefulness and friendliness. Food was excellent and a good choice. The bed was comfortable the owners went the extra mile to help. I would recommend people to stay there as you are sure to feel welcome.
Review 49:Nothing.

Review 54:Marci and Gary are wonderful hosts. We were given a warm welcome with a pot of tea and our cases carried to our rooms. The guesthouse is lovely and full of character. A great choice for breakfast including full English or smoked salmon. Nothing was too much trouble. Hope to return soon
Review 55:After a tortuous trip from Bath, guided by a malfunctioning TomTom we could have not have had better place to end up and relax. No parking problems. The reception was friendly and welcoming. We particularly liked the sitting room where we met and chatted with fellow travellers.
Review 56:I found no faults whatsoever. If there had been problems, I would have mentioned them but ... No problems at all !
Review 57:The hosts, Gary and Marcia were both lovely. Very friendly and helpful. Accommodation was comfortable and clean and breakfast was included in the price. Gary and Marcia were very approachable and made us feel very welcome. The location is fabulous with amazing views of the local countryside. We would definitely go there again !!
Review 58:It is clear that the B&B owners have problems with guests wishing to leave early, demonstrated by the way they take your money for the stay within seconds of arrival & don't consider refunds for unused nights at all even when guests fall very ill. It's not surprising that guests leave early - the B&B is located on a really busy A road, very loud through the night & very difficult to sleep. Curtains are completely see-through so light flooded in making matters worse. We really would not recommend staying here if you want to get any rest.
Review 59:Owners seemed pleasant but they need to use discretion where required to provide better customer service.
Review 60:Friendly atmosphere, clean and well presented. A lovely chocolate box cottage with a small farm at the back also a decking area to enjoy afternoon tea in the sunshine. Easy to find with ample parking. Loved my stay and would highly recommend.
Review 61:Guesthouse was on a main road, and the traffic was very busy even late at night, noisy particularly with the windows open due to the weather.

Review 68:I stayed in a double room with ensuite bathroom. The room was well outfitted with hair dryer , tissue boxes, nicely scented , chocolates and with pretty bedding. Water pressure was good. Hosts were very friendly. Great cream tea with scones. Good breakfasts.
Review 69:Fantastic hosts a very friendly couple always so happy & smiling we had a great time & wished we had stayed longer will go back with no hesitation if we are that way again
Review 70:Not much around. Road is busy.
Review 71:Bed was comfortable, breakfast good, room clean. No real noise from busy road so that wasn't a problem. Cream teas served but no food in evenings. Nice food at White Hart 5 mins away by foot.
