Reviews for Lyme Townhouse

Review 1:Unable to open window due to secondary glazing and it was on ground floor facing road and I didn't feel I could leave it open while asleep

Review 2:Very comfortable bed, lovely en-suite and great breakfast with excellent service

Review 3:Shower nearly overflowed - drain may need cleaning. Couldn't start the coffee machine - but probably my fault ?

Review 4:Mike the manager was lovely and very enthusiastic. The room was spacious and the decor of it and that of the breakfast room was beautifully decorated.

Review 5:Left lights on all day Bedroom Door was very fiddly to unlock Shower drained slowly

Review 6:Staff friendly and helpful Good breakfast Very clean Warm Tastefully decorated Generous breakfast with fresh fruit

Review 7:There was not enough storage space for clothes, only a few metal coat hangers so we lived out of our suitcase. TV would have been better on a swivel rather than in corner of the room.

Review 8:The room (4) was light and the bed was very comfortable (king size +). It overlooked the road but was not noisy at night. The breakfast was good with a reasonable choice. Location good for getting into town.

Review 9:Location is great, rooms well appointed and staff are welcoming and friendly, especially Mike. We have stayed there before and it was like being welcomed back by friend.

Review 10:The care we were given. The upkeep of the guest house. Basket of books, drawer of games. The best selection of teas, coffees etc we have ever encountered.

Review 11:Excellent decor, spotlessly clean, just a short walk from the town and sea. Staff very helpful especially Mike who kindly put our jeans in the dryer when we returned like a pair of drowned rats from getting too close to a rough sea!

Review 12:The staff were very obliging and welcoming. The en suite room was comfortable and well appointed. We were expecting a continental breakfast so it was a lovely surprise to have a freshly cooked breakfast of our choice in addition to the continental style buffet.

Review 13:Bed was 2 singles with uncomfortable join. Shower tray was too shallow so afraid of flooding bathroom. Shower/basin and toilet made strange noise due to bad plumbing. Manager made me look stupid in front of other guests at breakfast then moments later did the same to someone else. There were blown lights bulbs all around the establishment.

Review 14:Lyme Regis is a lovely place for a short break.

Review 15:The spotless, comfortable room and bed was very welcoming. Also it is only a short walk to the centre of town and the owner, Mike, was very helpful and cheerful.

Review 16:We had a lovely time and thought the accommodation was really good value for money. Attentive staff but they also did not intrude. Breakfast was very nice. Despite having a super snug room the bed and shower were a good size.

Review 17:The parking and ability to drop luggage limited. Had to choose breakfast the night before. I don't always know what I want the following day

Review 18:I loved the staff and the well appointed comfortable rooms. It was quiet and good location for the town centre. Beds really comfortable

Review 19:I had a lovely shower, but the water ran cold by the timely boyfriend had one...

Review 20:Lovely welcome letter and personal contact prior to the visit. The room was lovely and the bed very comfortable. Lots of nice touches in the room and excellent tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast was great :)

Review 21:Excellent location, friendly staff, good breakfast, convenient reasonable public parking. I definitely recommend this facility as a pleasant place to stay in Lyme Regis.

Review 22:We had booked the day before our visit for one night. The manager tried to ring and left me a few messages to tell me where things were as we'd be arriving at a late hour. Couldn't have been more considerate! We had a snug double room and it was ample space, beautiful furnishings and a great shower!

Review 23:Perfect location, parking an incredible £2 per day! Our snug room was clean and comfortable but our stay was made all the more special by our host - Mike - witty, courteous and full of local knowledge.

Review 24:Not that I didn't like it but the shower (which was good), without a door or curtain splashed water all over floor and will evcentually ruin the tiles and carpet to bedroom adjacent

Review 25:Position Welcome from the Manager Mike Airiness and cleanliness of room Comfort of bed and pillows Breakfast

Review 26:Shower filled up possibly due to a clogged drain. Full English breakfast wasn't an option

Review 27:Mike was very friendly and kindly let us in as we booked very last minute

Review 28:Great location (as long as you can walk up hills) and close to the main car park for all day parking. In close walking distance to the main high street and beach, friendly staff and very clean room with a comfortable bed.

Review 29:Lovely B and B perfect area about 3min walk from beach. Staff were lovely very helpful. Cosy B an B with loads to like. Very relaxed atmosphere! Loved it and would defiantly stay again!

Review 30:Didn't see anyone until the morning when breakfast was served. For some they may not have noticed the door code on bottom of confirmation email

Review 31:Great location, lovely clean room and bathroom, not overly big but room was described as snug room. Lovely breakfast

Review 32:Difficult to get in touch ahead of arrival. The phone numbers listed on Booking.com and via Google searches lead to different properties or voicemail boxes.

Review 33:Very welcoming manager of the property and Lyme is a lovely little town. The room itself was in good and stylish shape, if showing a few issues with its referb over old walls.

Review 34:Parking was a mission. The parking outside of the house was in the evening but only two hours in the day. Parking for 24 hours around the corner was £7.50. The car needed moving by 7 in the morning from outside the house. It's fine if your going to drive through the day.

Review 35:Perfect, a warm welcome. A great spot to get around. Lovely place lovely people. Clean and comfortable.

Review 36:When making this booking we picked the option for a smaller room with a sea view. Apparently the proprietor stated this was never an option .Therefore Booking.com had the incorrect info on their site. Knowing this we would have chosen a larger room

Review 37:The coffee machine is a bit more complicated than the good old kettle but the final product is superior. (But no decaff: coffee)

Review 38:Extremely helpful staff - booked us an evening meal because we were arriving late. Checked up that we had everything we needed. Lovely breakfast - plenty of fresh fruit.

Review 39:Room very small, no chair, meagre hanging space with coffee machine in it. Window stuck and staff seemed reluctant to take responsibility for it. Traffic noise. 'Partial sea view' 99% obscured by trees. Expensive for what you got compared with other Lyme bnbs.

Review 40:Excellent location, comfortable bed, lovely shower

Review 41:Shower cubical had a very small door which the larger person like myself would have found hard to access if not impossible. Resort issue, taxi service is very sporadic and as one with adisability got caught at the base of steep hills i would normaly not walk up. NOT the fault of lyme town house

Review 42:Very clean helpfull staff, let me park at the back due to mobility issues despite no offical parking, Very tight access and also neighbour access to it being the reasons Breakfast was excellent

Review 43:Noisy roadside room. Superficial decore make over in rooms -appears to have been a rushed job .

Review 44:Good central location with parking near by . Flexible breakfast times. Friendly staff.

Review 45:Lack of a table or desk for using laptop on WiFi. Bathroom sink is tiny.

Review 46:Beautiful room, excellent breakfast, very friendly owner, good location near centre of town

Review 47:As tea drinkers the coffee com tea maker in the room was impossible to understand and we didn't manage to get a cup of tea out of it. Please bring back the kettle. Thinner pillows would have complimented the very comfortable bed. Smoked bacon would be nice grilled or fried rather than the (excellent quality) but unsmoked bacon that we had with a lovely poached egg for breakfast.

Review 48:The location was perfect for town and beach. The Town house was clean comfortable and the room snug as advertised. The shower was fantastic and bed was lovely. Mike was a good and welcoming host. Nice range of choices for breakfast and he was flexible about making modifications to the menu.

Review 49:Unreliable Wifi. Don't expect to be able to be online.

Review 50:Extremely friendly/helpful staff. Rooms are newly and tastefully renovated. Very good breakfast with coffee machine in room. Central location. Overnight parking 4 blocks up the hill: only £2 for 24 hrs.

Review 51:No-one to greet us - had to let ourselves in with a code Very small room - claustrophobic for two people (room 6) WiFi spasmodic Limited choice for hot breakfast, especially for vegetarians Car park quite a walk away, up a steep hill No kettle in room, only a coffee maker (so only breakfast tea available in room)

Review 52:Comfy bed & crisp linen Great location to walk into Lyme Regis Fruit, yoghurt & pastries for breakfast

Review 53:Lovely comfortable and clean facilities - although our room was fairly small everything was provided including little extras like fresh milk for our morning cuppa! Very comfortable bed too. Thank you Mike for your friendly welcome and lovely breakfasts!

Review 54:The little extras ie. glasses, bottle of water, bottle opener, cookie jar. A warm friendly welcome. Nothing was too much trouble always happy and willing to help

Review 55:The room very described as "super snug" and lived up to that description... there was no room for a chair - which would have been a welcome addition, and there was little space around the bed.

Review 56:location was great - out of the town, but an easy walk there and back... Staff were very friendly. The room was recently refurbished, so very clean and tidy. Excellent shower!

Review 57:Room was a little small but adequate but on the main road so could be noisy in summer when you would nee the window open

Review 58:Great location with low cost arming nearby

Review 59:Mike the GM was really lovely from the first touch point (a call to check our reservation) all the way through to a lovely warm check out. We would stay again:-)

Review 60:House was very hot upstairs, since there was no air flow - could do with an AC unit in the upstairs landing.

Review 61:Very convenient for town centre and beach, friendly owner

Review 62:Good location close to centre of Lyme. Nice clean ensuite room with good coffee maker. Manager was very helpful allowing us to drop off our luggage prior to the checking in time so we could enjoy some extra time in Lyme.

Review 63:The shower fitting was held together with tape and the shelf above the sink was too low.

Review 64:The décor and staff. Also, several details such as fresh cordial being left in the entrance hall.

Review 65:I found the traffic noise quite disturbing. My house is silent, so I probably noticed it more.

Review 66:The decor was very tasteful and quite new. Bed was extremely comfortable. Michael the manager was very helpful and friendly. Very clean. Breakfast superb.

Review 67:Room very hot and needs a cooling system Television needs an arm extension so that it can be adjusted to suit the viewing area - had a sore neck looking up towards it Shower tray too small - water all over the floor - slip area

Review 68:Very helpful and friendly manager Good breakfast Comfortable bed

Review 69:Mike, the host was wonderful - very accommodating as we brought our two bikes with us, so he was able to set us up with a place to store them. He was good humoured and cooked a cracking breakfast!

Review 70:We booked this for a last minute trip and were only looking for a nice and simple place for two nights. It completely surpassed all expectations, the location was perfect, the room was comfortable and of a really high standard. Mike who runs the Lyme Townhouse was a brilliant host and his incredible attention to detail was obvious throughout especially his show stopping breakfasts - try the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon! We'll definitely be going back.

Review 71:Location was good.. The town is hilly do it was a good distance up the hill between the toen centre and car park. Mike, the manager was fantastic, was friendly and welcoming. Rooms were lovely and well appointed.

Review 72:There was nothing about this B&B that I did not like.

Review 73:The room was perfectly turned out, immaculately clean and tidy, with all the facilities you could ask for from a B&B. The manager was friendly and polite, giving us all the information we needed. The bed was a delight to sleep in, the duvet sheets and pillows spotless and very comfortable. The food was well prepared and delivered quickly, and there was plenty of information about the area waiting for us in the room when we arrived; including easy to use tea/coffee facilities (with cookies!). Overall it was, perfect, from location through to value for money. Oh and the water tastes amazing, even from the tap!

Review 74:Very cozy, excellent amenities and lovely welcoming touches. Delicious breakfast
