Review 2：What a lovely lady who runs the Skala hotel, she can't do enough for you. Ok, the place is old but free air con, tea and coffee and when the electricity went out all over Kefalonia she made us tea on the camper stove. Overall, a pleasant stay.
Review 3：Nice and calm family hotel just 100 meters from the beach. Nice rooms with sea view. The hotel is very well located among cosy restaurants etc. We and our teens loved it (perfect with teen who wants to be close to the beach, the shops and the restaurants). We will definitely come back!

Review 5：This hotel surpassed our expectations. what a location! clean spacious and basic rooms with a fridge and a balcony In each room. Lovely crisp linen and great beds. we were a Group of 7.
Review 6：We stayed here end of October 2014, the owners were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and lots of choice, cereals, creme fraiche, muesli, toast, bread, cake, fruit, cheese, meat and more. Location is excellent, close to the beach and the centre of Skala. The hotel is quiet at night, road noise is very minimal. Clean well equipped rooms, on the small side, but we had an extra bed in ours. Nice fluffy white towells and comfy bed. Nice lounge to relax in for the guests.

Review 8：The wonderful hosts who were attentive to all our needs. The peaceful atmosphere, the cleanliness, the personal touches in the decoration and all the plants outside. The breakfast was substantial and healthy. The wonderful beach just 3 minutes away.
Review 9：- it's not the hotel's fault but every morning there was a garbage truck and it was incerdibly loud - some nights we had heroic fight with mosquitos

Review 12：Family-run hotel; very friendly and helpful people. Convenient location just a couple of hundred meteres from the seafront. Nice breakfasts on the balcony. Excellent wifi in the spacious and airy lounge.
Review 13：This hotel has a 2 star rating but having been to Greek Islands before we knew it wasn't like 2 star here. We were more than pleased when we arrived. The hotel is family run and they even arranged our pick up from the airport. They were waiting when we arrived with a much needed cold drink. Apparently this is the oldest hotel in Skala and it although it does show a bit of wear it was spotless and the beds comfortable and thats all we ask. Added bonus of AC included which is not always the case. The maid cleaned the room every day and changed the bed linen etc every 2 days and some times every day. We had a room on the first floor that had a seaview and sometimes in the evening the owner would be sat out on the balcony below playing his classical guitar which was very nice. There is no pool but you can use one at another hotel less than 50m away but you have blown it if you don't join the queue at 9am when they allowed people to place their towels. It didn'y bother us as we prefer the beach where there are plenty of sunbed sets at 6euro and a great beach bar called Milos . All in all a great place to stay

Review 31：Friendly helpful owners, excellent location, room had all you needed, good air con, fridge, kettle, tea and coffee. 5mins walk from the beach, 2mins walk from nearby hotel with an excellent swimming pool which could be used. 5min walk from town centre with good restaurants and bars, supermarket, tourist shops, pharmacy and Doctors, as well as town square. Breakfast - good (cereals, yogurt, fruit, cold meats, cheese, pickles, eggs, bread, cakes) would defiantly go back again, thank you for a lovely stay.
Review 32：Despite written confirmation I did not get the room I paid for which was a little disappointing especially as the room which had a double and twin beds was accommodating a couple. My daughter shared the bed with me. We were offered a put up bed but not really suitable for a teenager. The shower is tiny and difficult to regulate the temperature. Fine for budget accomodation.

Review 36：The Owner is very-very friendly. The atmosphere is hospitable and nice. In spite of the hotel is not new everything operates well. There are a lot of handmade things in it and you feel homeliness. Very good Wi-fi. Location is fine.

Review 38：It's not really a dislike but the shower is too small and the curtain sticks to you when it's wet.
Review 39：The hotel is about 5 mins from the beach and restaurant area. The owner had a cold drink waiting when we arrived that we really appreciated. Spacious room and balcony overlooking a very pretty garden. Also could take our breakfast up to our room or to the garden. This is a budget hotel and worth every penny.
Review 40：What a superb hotel to stay in. We booked it on a fly but absolutely no regrets - we arrived very late in the night and Voula (really wonderful host and owner) was waiting with a refreshing glass of juice. The hotel was very clean and room was great with amazing sea views - you will need to book the seaview room at little extra. The breakfast was available for longer hours than specified and the customer service was excellent. In all honesty, we normally stay in expensive 4 to 5 star hotels when going on holidays/work and we hardly remember the hotel after a while but at the SKALA hotel this will definitely not be the case - the location, hospitality and views made it just perfect. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody and i will definitely stay there if I ever visit Kefalonia again.
Review 41：Basically, Kefalonia was shut! We had not realised when we booked (andthe website gave no indication) that the season did not start until May.So very limited choice of eating places (we were luck in that Skala had3 that were open), many placed around the island had none.
