Reviews for Haus Alba

Review 1:A brilliant place to stay. The hosts are exceptional, the breakfast delicious and its so convenient for everything in the area. Glad we found this gem of a B&B - we will definitely be back.

Review 2:No table suitable for writing/working at. In a room as large as this there should be plenty of space for one, but only low tables were provided. Bedside table exactly 3 inches wide!!

Review 3:Extremely large and well-equipped room and bathroom for the price (I would expect to pay twice as much). Excellent and extremely large breakfast, cooked to order. Deducted some money because I didn't have breakfast the second day...I've never been offered this before. Nibbles and refreshments provided in room.

Review 4:Nothing

Review 5:Our hosts Beate and David were very welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. Room was extremely comfortable and the breakfast was exceptional.

Review 6:Nothing to dislike!

Review 7:Lovely place to stay, very friendly hosts who advised is where to eat, where to visit and planned a walk for us. Fantastic breakfast and beautiful room.

Review 8:Very Beautiful B&B. David (the owner) is a very kind person. Breakfast was amazing. If/When I will come back in Scotland, I would certainly stay here.

Review 9:Great place in a super location with immaculate facilities and a delicious full Scottish breakfast. David and Beate were very charming -- both genuinely friendly and extremely helpful. David is also an avid outdoorsman and expert guide to adventures in the area.

Review 10:We loved everything about our stay at Haus Alba. David and Beatte are perfect hosts and made us feel welcome from the very start. The room was lovely and beautifully decorated. Lovely soft towels. Big comfy bed, bone china cups, large TV. Large bathroom with bath, (so many of the B&B's just have a shower). Homely and friendly atmosphere. The breakfast was superb with lots of choice. We were offered the local delicacy of Butterys to start which we loved. My husband tried haggis for the first time and there were some lovely preserves. The Apple and Lavender jelly was divine. David and Beatte have just the right personalities for running a B&B and we loved chatting to them at breakfast. We were travelling from Lands End to John O'Groats and stayed in 18 B&B's. This was by far the best.

Review 11:Mr and Mrs Nesbit could not have made us more welcome. Excellent hosts and would not hesitate to recommend this B and B to anyone visiting Granton on Spey!!

Review 12:Absolutely nothing!

Review 13:Everything. Superb welcome from hosts. Presentation and decor of the guesthouse. Comfy bed and huge ensuite.Tasty breakfast. Location in town and lovely scenery surrounding the town. Brilliant value for money.

Review 14:David made us quite welcome and gave us good tips on nearby places for our supper. The room was beautiful, bathroom a bit tiny, but completely understandable since this is an upgraded older house. It works just fine. Would stay again, too bad we only had one night there.

Review 15:Host Dave & Beate went the extra mile.Helpful advice on most matters in the district. On hearing that we had made an error in our dates they advised to book ahead, finding and booking B&B in Fort William

Review 16:David and B were very hospitable and the rooms were the cleanest of all the hotels we have stayed. The location is superb. We enjoyed our stay there.

Review 17:We loved everything.

Review 18:The hosts! The rooms! The town! Everything! Great attention to detail and the hosts are very welcoming. We had a great stay. We are highly recommending this place and will be back.

Review 19:Friendly hosts who are a wealth of information about the area.Great knowledge of local walks and climbs. From the time we arrived till it was time to leave we couldn't have been made more welcome.

Review 20:Friendliness of hosts and the attention to detail which they provide. Their advice about eating out was ideal and the visit to their "local" The Claymore was a step back in time. A bonus was the wine left in our room for our Wedding Anniversary.

Review 21:Nothing! 10/10 for this place!

Review 22:The room was tastefully decorated, very clean and tidy and the bed was amazing. Both hoasts were great providing everything I needed.

Review 23:The bathroom was just too small as you could not use the wash basin as it was so small and the shelve above obstructed being able to use it to wash your face. It was a shame as apart from that the place was great.

Review 24:The bed was great and the welcome could not have been friendlier

Review 25:The WiFi connection is not stable and slow. After all, your are in the Highlands so don't expect much when it comes to Internet or mobile connections

Review 26:The place is very well taken care of. The room and insuite bathroom were both in excellent condition. You can customize your breakfast which was tasty and filling. Loved the place!

Review 32:Received a lovely warm welcome when I arrived and got taken to a most beautiful bedroom which has been done up to a very high standard. With lovely little touches eg decanter of whiskey, lovely toiletries in the bathroom. Very comfortable bed and the best tea tray I have ever seen. David and Beate are excellent hosts and make you very welcome in there stunning home, you feel as if you have known them years. Breakfast was laid out beautifully using fresh local produce. All I can say is thank you for a fantastic stay David and Beate can't wait to visit again.

Review 33:Owner is an excellent tour guide for the mountains. Nice, big and cosy rooms, including a wee dram of Speyside single malt as an welcome gift. Perfect full scottish breakfast with local butchery products from around the corner. Good scottish and indian restaurants are nearby.

Review 34:David and Beate could not have been friendlier, more welcoming or helpful. We had the best night's sleep in a long time in a huge bed. Very tasty local sourced breakfast too, and David knows the area extremely well being a mountain guide, so gave us some valuable advice about locality.

Review 35:From the telephone contact prior to our stay until we departed Haus Alba (David and Beate) were completely faultless! We were looked after in every way possible. The room was brilliant (the bed was huge and so comfy) and there was a wee dram to welcome us!

Review 38:Nothing major really, just the curtains were not thick enough for us, used to sleep in the dark.

Review 39:The premises have been just renovated, and with style and taste. Location is perfect, very central on the main square, but very quiet. David is a fantastic host, going the extra mile to make us feel most comfortable. He was especially kind to our child. Breakfast was excellent and David even got us discounts at the local restaurant. David is an expert of outdoor activities and offered to show us around.
