Reviews for Culag Lochside Guesthouse
Review 1:Due to thick fog across UK, couldn't see the lake! So we'll just have to come again :-)
Review 2:Lovely lakeside location, near to Luss village. Patrick very welcoming, comfy cottages, great breakfast.
Review 3:Amazing, so helpful, friendly and welcoming, such a picturesque location, our little 'log cabin' for want of a better word was perfect overlooking the loch, huge sofa, tv, bed, bathroom and a little kitchen facilities - kettle, microwave, fridge and sink, also a common area in the main house and a lovely fresh cooked breakfast (:
Review 4:Nothing at all.
Review 5:The stay was fabulous. The staff were very approachable and helpful. The view was idyllic. Very restful. The breakfast was fabulous and a good selection apart from the huge full breakfast.
Review 6:only negative and this was just from a disabled point of view, toilet seat was bit low for disabled user and it would of been handy to have two hand rails. Bed was also bit high for getting into
Review 7:Location was amazing and the staff were so helpful. We had wheelchair which accomodation was perfect for staff even helped with lifting wheelchair over small step to get into dinningroom. Breakfast was best we have had with great choice and service.
Review 8:The GPS had Culag about a mile away from its real location and as we drove in the dead of night, we were fortunate to see the roadside sign in time. Otherwise, it could have been an even longer drive to our accommodation.
Review 9:Set on the banks of the Loch, Culag is in an excellent location for views, watersports, walking and anything else you'd care to do in the Trossachs. Our little cabin was very comfortable and Patrick, the owner, was a great host.
Review 10:The shower pressure was low and inconsistent. There was smokiness in the morning coming from the cooking downstairs.
Review 11:The location was best and the room was spacious enough. The view was great. Breakfast is as good as any other full Scottish.
Review 12:Located on the shores of Loch Lomond Culag Guesthouse is a perfect spot to enjoy great Vistas. Quality rooms, wonderful host & beautiful gardens. There are restaurants/pub nearby for dinner and mine host dropped us there and srranged for a taxi to bring us home! That's service!
Review 13:You don't get much of a phone signal and the wifi is patchy but that's not the end of the world ;)
Review 14:Beautiful location in Loch Lomond, easy to get to by car. We had a family room which was very warm and spacious, it looked onto the loch. Patrick is amazing, very friendly and drove us to the pub (and picked us up a few hours later). Delicious breakfast.
Review 15:There wasn't anything to not like
Review 16:Myself and my partner had a fantastic time so much so we are planning our next visit Patrick was an amazing host and breakfast was lovely even when my partner asked for something not on the menu Patrick was only to happy to help can't wait for out next visit
Review 17:The bed was a bit on the small size for us but fine for 1 night.
Review 18:We stayed for our 1st night after our long trip from London. The location is stunning and we woke up with a fantastic sunrise. Everybody was very friendly and made us feel welcomed. The facilities was perfect to bring our doggy and we enjoyed our little walk to the next village for diner. We had a lovely breakfast too.
Review 19:Location was perfect! Right on the banks. Room was lovely, clean and homely and our dog travis was made most welcome. 10 minute walk into the village of luss to get an evening meal. Patrick and the rest of the staff were welcoming and friendly. Also helpful with local info
Review 20:1) Too much road noise from the A82 right next to the accommodation. 2) The shower's temperature fluctuations.
Review 21:1) The location on the Bonnie Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond. 2) The friendliness and helpfulness of Patrick. 3) The massive Scottish breakfast.
Review 22:Everything was great
Review 23:This is an amazing property! Really nice location, great room, and very friendly staff. One of the highlights of our trip. Waking up to sunrise over the loch is unbelievable.
Review 24:No criticisms, shower was a little lacking in power and bathroom floor tended to get covered in water but we were extremely pleased with our room and would choose it again
Review 25:The location right on the lochside with beautiful view
Review 26:The family run business has so many personnel touches everywhere, nothing was too much for them to make our stay truly magical, Patrick was very polite, always smiling and service from his lovely wife Anne was fantastic, Breakfast was fresh, tasty and cooked fresh, rooms are large and have facilities for internet, tea/coffee TV and very comfy bed, will def be coming back for another stay and made sure I had the cards for me to make the trip next year. THANK YOU xxx
Review 27:N/A
Review 28:Great location beautiful view across Loch, great people, fabulous rooms, top breakfast, great host, in fact boldly marvalous mate (can't say any more
Review 29:The toilet seat was not just loose, it was disconnected, the sink had a large crack that had been very badly filled with polyfiller or similar - looked like a huge streak of dried on toothpaste, but wasn't, and the shower was pretty pathetic - very small amount of water wavering between scorching and freezing. Cleanliness was obviously not a priority.
Review 30:The breakfast is very good. We (two couples) chose four different options between us and all were good.
Review 31:Location was beautiful, the view from the bedroom worth the visit. Host Patrick could'nt be more helpful, we were even given transport back from village restaurant .
Review 32:If being picky ... the shower in the bathroom did overspill onto floor and this also happened to our friends in their bathroom too!
Review 33:Liked the location of b&b and our room and facilities and how accommodating the owner and staff are - highly recommend to anyone. Looked after our two dogs also.
Review 34:The midgies !
Review 35:The wonderful location and views; the excellent accommodation and service from the staff and Patrick. An absolute delightful stay in Room 7.
Review 36:It was a lovely location overlooking Loch Lomond. The staff were really friendly and the breakfast was great. I wish we could have stayed there longer, we will definitely go back again.
Review 37:-had an issue with the loo, but was fixed quickly by staff -not very sound proof-the door doesn't go to the ground so can hear noise in the hall with the gap; could hear ppl next door sometimes in #3; #5 seemed fine -#3 loo is in gables of house so awkward ceilings-may bump your head
Review 38:-patrick is super friendly, helpful, willing to tell you what to see/do, fix any issues, serve your breakfast, etc. -nice meal selection & good window to come & enjoy it -greeted & checked in promptly & offered beverages -ample parking -beautiful locale & great views rm#3 -our room 2 were spacious and cozy (one in the main house #3, 1 in the guest houses #5) -central to things to do: luss, balloch, nat'l park, glencoe, oban, etc.
Review 39:Amazing location with fantastic views over loch lomond. 1st class breakfast. Polite and friendly staff/host. You wont get better than this. Also associated bistro in village with great food.
Review 40:The furniture are quite old.. Free wifi are only available in the living room.. The mobile network was poor in some area..
Review 41:The location was absolutely magnificent.. The owners are friendly and kind.
Review 42:Wifi signal was very weak. We couldn't get any signal in our 3 rooms. You could only get wifi in the breakfast room.
Review 43:It is a lovely place to stay. You will fall in love with the view. The owner was very friendly. Nice breakfast.
Review 44:Bed a bit uncomfy and wifi didn't work in room. However, they told us this when we arrivedand it works well in the main house and even from the chairs outside overlooking the loch.
Review 45:Beautiful location. 25 min walk along the loch to Luss for dinner.
Review 46:The only thing I didn't like was the closeness to the highway and traffic noise. It did improve around midnight but picked up again around 6:00am. The views and beauty of the guest house make up for it and wouldn't prevent me from staying here again. Also wifi in the rooms would have been more suitable for us.
Review 47:Excellent location right on Loch Lomond. Patrick is perfect example of what a guest house host should be! Courteous, professional and a great sense of humour to boot!
Review 48:The shower was awful, a trickle of water that started and stopped - didn't even consider trying to wash my hair! The large double bed was actually 2 single beds that kept separating, but when packing found that the catch at the bottom had not been fastened across the beds.
Review 49:The setting and view from the room was fantastic, right over the Loch. Staff very friendly.
Review 50:Internet was not available in the cottages outside. Visitors must check the weather before visiting this place. All water sports were closed and we couldn't go anywhere due to storm during our stay so missed it :(
Review 51:Amazing location! Beautiful Guest House! We just loved our stay there.
Review 52:What a beautiful location, fabulous little gem of a place within easy walking distance of Luss along a lovely cycle path. Breakfast was lovely also, with plenty variety. They would cater for absolutely anything!
Review 53:Wifi was not available in bad weather in our rooms, although available in the guest lounge.
Review 54:Absolutely lovely location and excellent breakfast with several choices.
Review 55:The walk to Luss would have taken over forty minutes, really need a car for evening meal
Review 56:The views of Loch Lomond are stunning, Patrick was the perfect host, even a drink on arrival, nothing was too much trouble
Review 57:Extremely warm welcome and made to feel part of the family. We had always left our dog with family whilst away, so felt a little anxious about having to take her with us this time. We couldn't have been made more welcome, and our dog was well fussed over!

We strolled along the path, and just had a perfect time.
