Reviews for Hotel De L'Atelier

Review 1:This hotel has a smart vintage style, located in a quite and beautiful village on the other side of river to Avignon. I would recommend first timers to Avignon to stay in Villenevue, this hotel is 2-min-walk away from the bus stop and the bus journey to Avignon is only 5-10 min.

Review 2:Absolutely Nothing!!!! A pleasure from start to finish.

Review 3:My friend and I spent the month of September at the Hotel De L'Atelier in beautiful Provence. Stephen, Mayliss, Mouman, and the Housekeeping Staff were exceptional-caring, warm, considerate, genuine--there is no pretense here. These are simply good people doing what they love. Daily breakfasts in the hotel's enchanting, oh so very French courtyard were magical- an amazing way to begin each day. The doors to our room opened to a private courtyard, and the hotel is filled with niches and private spaces for rest and reflection. If it's conversation you're seeking, enjoy a cup of tea with fellow world travelers. I have enjoyed visiting France for many years, but spending a few weeks with my new friends-and they will forever be my friends- has raised the bar to an entirely new level. Congratulations guys! You've represented your country well! Please give Ratatouille a giant hug from me. I miss you all!

Review 4:The bus into Avignon is convenient yet limited in the evening. It is NOT walkable because it is a busy and narrow road and is at least couple of miles. We could not have a leisurely late evening meal because the last bus was a little after 9pm. Of course if you have a car..no problem. There are great restaurant options near the hotel which may require a reservation.

Review 5:Beautiful little village and hotel personnel very helpful! Love the outdoor setting for breakfast and the breakfast was wonderful! Very comfortable, quiet and authentic french hotel!

Review 6:Quaint little hotel in villeneuve just outside avignon. Authentic little provevcal town away from the tourist bustle of avignon with great little bars/ restarants, great walking, friendly people. We had smiles on our faces during our whole stay. After staying at l'atelier + experiencing stefan's hospitality, other places will be a letdown! Wonderful breakfasts. Outside patio for relaxing.

Review 7:The covered parking (not at the hotel location) has a fee (9 euro) but there is a free parking at the entrance of the village. The breakfast is not cheap (9.5 euro)

Review 8:Staff is extremely kind and helpful. Any request (even make telephone calls if you don't speak french) is satisfied (reasonable ones!). The breakfast is not cheap (9.5 euro) but it is copious and excellent, a friend wanted just a coffee and a small croissant and they offered for free. Free the' or infusions are also offered in the afternoon or after dinner. The building is beautiful!

Review 9:A too short stay :) Maybe would mind the bed mattress.

Review 10:Set in one of the most beautiful villages ever seen, is just as if you get back in time in the 15thy century. One of the most pleasent person-landlord ever met while travelling - thank you for being a person inspiring us to travel even more! A very pleasant antmosphere inside the Hotel, you find everything at hand and feel like royalties there. A large room with excellent facilties - 4 start at least! If you want to feel pampered, please go to this Hotel! Unfortunatelly we only spent one night... but it was beautiful. On practical staff: parking is 5 minutes walking, restaurants and pasticerias' 5 minutes walking - particularly recommended for breakfast! Avignon very close. Very rewarding experience!

Review 11:Everything. We had a second floor rear room overlooking the rear courtyard and terrace for sunbathing. Then town itself is a dream and unspoilt. Avignon is a five minute bus ride away.

Review 12:Just fabulous! My sister and I loved everything. We felt we were very welcome. The staff were wonderful and couldn't be more helpful, especially Stephen the manager.

Review 13:It is absolutely stunning hotel, I'd say provancal guest house were you feel like home. Nice touch and attention to details. Stephan, the hotelier, keeps high level of quality and is very friendly and helpfull. Wondeful patio and garden and gorgeous medieval architecture. Delightful stay!

Review 14:Nothing bad - only good things to say about Atelier .

Review 15:Assistance with booking taxis, finding laundry facilities & buses, and offering complimentary tea & biscuits. Friendly staff, clean rooms and beautiful grounds

Review 16:I didn't like leaving it.

Review 17:Perfect location near the square and a short walk to historical sites and Avignion city. The building is absolutely adorable, just what one would want in the Provence. Great hospitality, personal touch. Felt like being at home.

Review 18:The service from the manager was great. Helpful and friendly. The room was spacious, nicely decorated and air conditioned. The hotel was in a great spot - near enough to Avignon to get there easily, but in the adjacent town of Villeneuve which was delightful.

Review 19:What makes this quaint hotel so wonderful is the helpful and very kind employees. They helped us with local sites to see, arrange bicycles to cycle along the Rhone, made wonderful dinner suggestions etc. The rooms are all individually decorated and very clean. The location is perfect .. the village has enough to offer to fill a day of exploring and the Walled City of Avignon is a short bus ride (5 minutes) or a short walk (25 minutes). We had 4 days in this lovely hotel and wished we could have stayed longer.

Review 20:Small point - one pillow had a slight "beery" smell was unpleasant to wake up to. Presumably left by a previous guest !

Review 21:The young lady who was in charge was a delight.

Review 22:everything was great. Very friendly and helpful owners and staff. Beautiful old building, very well-restored and comfortable, in the middle of Villeneuve-lez-Avignon, which we thought was much nicer than Avignon itself! Plenty to do and see.

Review 23:So French, beautiful atmosphere. Rooms so simple and perfect. On lovely street with 2-3 great restaurants around the corner. Could not have been a better place for our first night in France. Also the breakfast was excellent. Full of delicious choices, and the front desk was as helpful and pleasant as we have ever seen

Review 24:Limited restaurants with poorly lighted alleyways made for uncomfortable walks at night (though not fault of hotel).

Review 25:Good value, nice staff, and view from room. Would stay again if in the area.

Review 26:We enjoyed the French TV but would have liked to see the BBC or CNN news occasionally.

Review 27:Everyone made us so welcome and couldn't help us enough We loved the bedroom and breakfast was great. We would certainly go back to this hotel again.

Review 28:That we couldn't stay longer

Review 29:The atmosphere, the new dining room breakfast, access to tea and coffee all day, parking close by, the excellent restaurants close by, it was family friendly and felt like home and the accommodating staff.

Review 30:Nothing

Review 31:Truly a lovely place to stay. The structure is amazing. Great location with restaurants within walking distance. The owner and staff are lovely people. I would stay here again when I'm the area without looking further.

Review 32:Parking in this area could be an adventure. But hotel staff is ready to help with it.

Review 33:Very nice setting - room and hotel hall are beautifully decorated in "ancient" style. Old, historical surroundings - feel yourself as a middleage ctizen. Friendly, helpful, welcoming staff with good English.

Review 34:The hotel is a beautiful building in the center of the old town. The room was perfect, romantic, and had its own private garden terrace. Wonderful stay!

Review 35:Breakfast a tad ordinary

Review 36:Host very helpful Excellent bed quiet Close to great restaurants Off street parking close by Bus into Avignon only five minutes

Review 37:Room rather small and bathroom could do with a facelift as could the decorating generally.

Review 38:The staff could not have been more helpful. Excellent English spoken. Perfect location. Good breakfast. They recommended and booked a great restaurant for us.

Review 39:Stephan (proprieter) is very helpful and pleasant. He understands customer service and is committed to making your stay memorable. The decor and ambience are tres charment! Hotel is a 10 minute bus ride (excellent service) from Avignon so is a perfect place to headquarter.

It has all the right ingredients for a perfect stay: charming setting, welcoming staff, gorgeous and quaint courtyard and backyard, delicious breakfast, adorable room ! A perfect match for my taste. It's my 4th stay there and I breath better every time it go thrue their door. It's a hotel located in an old 18th century home with a palpable soul and the best vibes. Everyone should go there at least once in their life.

Review 42:Hotel representative for its location in a small historical village with a quiet environment and nice atmosphere at 5 min (by bus) from Avignon. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 43:Only minor thing was the other guests, the stairwell is narrow so the guests going up and down with children was noisy. But no fault of the hotels at all.

Review 44:The staff were very pleasant and accommodating, the room was just beautiful and the right size, we had a gorgeous little patio overlooking the garden outside and the shower was great. Great location, wifi was easy, couldn't fault the hotel.

The hotel is in the most beautiful, friendly, well appointed village you will see with some good restaurants within a short stroll. The hotel is absolutely lovely and is the epitome of frenchness. It is also in the middle of the village. Parking is a 5 minute walk maximum and is free, you can unload outside so this is NOT a problem. Stay here!

Review 96:Nice couple managing the hotel. Breakfast quite good. Lovely building and quiet area.

Review 97:The lack of air conditioning was a bit of an issue but apparently they are planning to get it next year.

Review 102:To leave

Review 103:What a charm ! This place is in perfect harmony with its location, and you may feel being part of it for a night... It's nice, cosy and different. Nothing like a Novotel, and it is even nice to feel that you give a little of your money to make such place to continue to exist.

Review 104:Parking was a little awkward at first but we were redirected by Stephan and it was only a short walk back.

Review 105:The little courtyard and ancient history of the building was beautifully maintained. Stephan the owner could not do enough to help. It was very pretty and very close to the Antiques Market which was perfect.

Review 106:The location, which is not in the center of Avignon.

Review 107:We forgot to bring USB cables but the hotel gave us one of theirs so that my friend could charge her digital camera. The hotel is situated a little far from the center.
