In the centre of South Shields, a 5-minute walk to beaches and parks, the 4-star Visit England Silver Award Forest Guest House offers cooked breakfasts and inviting bedrooms with free Wi-Fi.
A full English breakfast, cooked in the open-plan kitchen, is served every morning in the dining room. A choice of cereals is also available and special diets can be catered for on request.
The bedrooms are decorated in modern, soft colours and all feature a kettle and a refrigerator. Each room has an en suite shower, a hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities and an alarm clock. The bedding and towels are Egyptian cotton. Duvets and pillows are hypo-allergenic, although feather pillows are available on request.
Forest Guest House is less than a 10-minute walk from the Metro and Newcastle Airport is a 40-minute drive away. Newcastle itself can be reached in 30 minutes by car.

Review 1：Nothing really, although the TV cutting out at midnight (especially as it was New Years Eve and Big Ben was about to chime) was a bit irksome!

Review 7：The 3% surcharge on credit cards was not good. Was only made aware at time of payment as we were leaving. The Acorn, where we stayed the previous evening did not charge for credit card payment. We have stayed at many hotels / B&B and no-one charges for credit card payments.

Review 9：Parking is an issue, as its on local streets. This is the same with all the local B&B's and wouldn't stop me from booking but is an issue.
Review 10：My Sister stayed here and she loved it. The owners were amazingly helpful and with local ties to Devinci's and Italian Restaurant were they get 15% discount. The room was very cosy and bed very comfy. I was jealous when I saw that she had! I think I will be booking here for my whole party next time we are staying in South Shileds

Review 16：The room was a good size and nipping clean with a very comfortable, large bed and two armchairs, there was lots of cupboard space and tea making facilities with a tea, coffee, hot choc etc. While the bathroom was spacious and spotless.

Review 27：The bedroom/en suite accommodation was, without doubt up there with the best we have experienced, after using 5 star hotels (Mainly the Hand-picked Hotel Group) it was extremely comfortable and relaxing. The food was also of excellent quality delivered with friendly, attentive and faultless service. I would opt for this establishment whenever we are in the Newcastle area it delivers serious quality and value for money together with easy access to the Whole of the North-East.

Review 35：The location was lovely and very central to do what we wanted to do. It was by far the cleanest guest house I have stayed in in South Shields and I have stayed in a few. The bedroom was lovely, homely and clean with a lovely en suit. The couple who ran it are lovely and nothing was a problem for them. They even offered breakfast on Sunday morning when we were late as they were quite relaxed about Sunday mornings. We wanted to get away back up to Edinburgh so had a drive ahead of us. Thoroughly enjoyable experience and will definitely stay here again.

Review 100：Janet and Peter are very friendly and welcoming which, after a long drive plus as we were in Sth Shields for a funeral, was very much appreciated. We had a couple of specific requests and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them to accommodate. They're also a great source of local knowledge, history and places to visit. Our room had a mini-fridge plus a complimentary box of Thorntons chocs (an unexpected and most welcome treat!). There's also a good DVD library, which we used on our 1 and only night in (exhausted) during our 4 night stay. Breakfast cooked to order, a good range of choice and great bacon!
