Reviews for Rosehall Guest House
Review 1:En-suite was very cosy. Issues with WiFi away from entrance hall which Owner is aware of and working on.
Review 2:Ideal location right in the centre of Grantown. Comfortable room and very welcoming Hosts. Excellent breakfast.
Review 3:Evelyn & Archie were wonderful hosts, we couldn't have felt more welcome. They gave us marvelous recommendations for meals in the village (easy walking distance - yes!), as well as things to see and do in the area. Excellent breakfast (and breakfast room), and our room was spacious, brightly lit with big windows, and squeaky clean. Comfy beds, modern and spotless bathroom. Was the best valued property we stayed in during the course of our 2-week Scotland vacation.
Review 4:One of our 2 rooms had a toilet and shower on the landing when we had expected en-suite facilities.
Review 5:Very comfortable and tastefully furnished rooms in a Victorian house close to village amenities. Owner was very informative and knowledgeable about Grantown and the wider region. Breakfast was cooked to order and was very good.
Review 6:Nice room but perhaps a little small. Wifi did not work well in room, although could get reception in lounge.
Review 7:Good location for exploring beautiful area of Speyside. Host very willing to assist with local travel plans and places to eat.
Review 8:No complaints.
Review 9:The owner is very personable and goes to great lenghts to ensure that guests have everything they need. Great location, rooms quiet and comfortable, great breakfast. House smells wonderful.
Review 10:Far too early for breakfasts on a Sunday morning. Dining room in need of some background music to break the silence.
Review 11:Very clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast.
Review 12:Room 3 is not ensuite. Own bathroom across the hall, inconvenient. Decor dated £90 was way overpriced stayed in similar properties for nearly have the price
Review 13:Good location in the square and quiet.
Review 14:Well located near facilities in Grantown on Spey. Very clean and comfortable with friendly knowledgeable staff. High quality guest house. Good base for touring Speyside
Review 15:Excellent location in centre of Granton-on -Spey, close to pubs, restaurants, shops etc. Proprietors friendly, knowledgeable and keen to help. Breakfast excellent. Well appointed, clean and comfortable.
Review 16:Martin was a great host, always witty and helpful with what to see and do in the region. Guesthouse nice and with a scottish/british feel and breakfast was great
Review 17:"Private Bathroom" was actually across the hall. Not what I expected when I booked the room. Not too comfortable walking in the hall in the middle of the night to use the bathroom...
Review 18:It was charming, as was our host, Martin. The food was delicious, the guest house was clean and fresh.
Review 19:We enjoyed the hospitality of Pearl and Martin. Clean rooms and comfortable beds here. They recommended two great dinners at No 7 Bistro (steak and hake) and good Indian food at Svlhet Brasserie. We also had some nice drinks at Craig Bar (great military decorations) and also Grant Arms Hotel. We also played scrabble too.
Review 20:No bad experiences at all.
Review 21:The location was excellent - just 30 minutes south of Aberlour. The rooms were comfortable, clean and warm. Pearl's breakfasts were superb, and Martin attended immediately to a couple of minor problems.
Review 22:Excellent friendly service, very welcoming and attentive. Even apologised that they couldn't upgrade us on this occation but would had the hotel not been so busy.
Review 23:The shower could use some more power. But would that be a reason to avoid this place? Absolutely not! Go to Rosehall Guest House, you'll love it.
Review 24:Great hosts, very welcoming and informative. Loved the breakfast, it is excellent! Location is great, plenty of restaurants nearby. Easy parking facilities. The house is very pretty and very British indeed. Room nr 9 is very spacious and luxurious. Room nr 4 is tiny, but very cosy. Loved staying here!
Review 25:Nothing
Review 26:Location, spacious bedroom ,bathroom High quality bedroom and extra toiletries Allowed to bring in take away food and provide an area to eat away from bedroom
Review 27:The shower in the ensuite was a little snug for the taller than average person, but serviceable and considering the space they had to work with in an old building, acceptable.
Review 28:A very warm welcome from the moment we stepped through the door. Lovely old building, a comfortable night's sleep and a tasty breakfast.
Review 29:the internet was pretty marginal but its being worked on and by the time you see this I'm sure Martin will have it sorted out
Review 30:the location, the view, the room, the hospitality, the breakfast
Review 31:Beautiful location with excellent view from our bedroom window. The room was clean, warm, comfortable, the breakfast was also excellent. The host was very friendly and recommended places to for us to visit and eat, he also advised us on the best roads to take to our next location. Check out the owners friend Robby's pub where they serve excellent gormet pie and chips with Robbie providing plenty of entertainment.
Review 32:. Owner was very helpful and friendly . Location was superb. Had no idea Granton-on-Spey was so lovely in summer. . Room was large with well appointed fittings and bathroom.
Review 33:I loved the attention to detail, little things like a pot of facepads/cotton buds in the bathroom, candles in the bathroom, realsize bottles of body lotion and bubble bath. The bed was comfortable, with wonderful aroma of fabric softener, just wonderful to snuggle in to. I enjoyed the window seat in our room, with a view of the village and the hills in the distance. The array of fresh food for breakfast was glorious, with the biggest tray of condiments such as peanut butter, jams and local honey. Restricted diets are catered for easily, upon request. Wonderful hosts, very easy to talk to and with a host of local information and insider knowledge.
Review 34:The owners could not do enough to help us. They provided advice and guides for local walks and places of interest. They even picked up another couple from Aviemore 20 miles away.
Review 35:The comfort and refinement, the genuine friendliness of the hosts, the fresh flowers a little everywhere, the exquisite fruit and compote bowls on the breakfast table....
Review 36:Probably the best Guest House we have ever stayed at. Extremely friendly and helpful owners - Pearl and Martin - beautiful room and a good breakfast.
Review 37:The walls are, typical for Britain, rather thin which means that you will hear other guests' talking. Also the doors of the rooms are fire doors and thus really heavy, so if other guests are not attentive enough to close them quietly you will hear a rather loud bang. The single room is the only room without an ensuite bathroom.
Review 38:The couple running the place is very kind and friendly. The house itself has been incredibly well renovated and is full of beautiful little details that make you feel at home there. It's very very clean, the breakfast is delicious and the location of the guesthouse is right in the town centre, only a few steps away from shops and sights. Parking spaces are also not too hard to find and most of the time there are enough spaces for all cars right in front of the house.
Review 39:I could not recommend this lovely B&B more for anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Grantown on Spey. It's beautiful, rooms are modern yet unique with flat screen TV, teas, coffees and cookies and everything you'd expect to find in a good hotel. The couple running the place really make an effort to make your stay as good as possible. They invited us to have some amazing whiskey with them during the evening (not charging for any of it of course) and always gave great tips and advise on what to do around the area. Breakfast was fantastic.

Review 73:Nothing at all
Review 74:A perfect place to be, with an olde world ambiance of how Scottish hospitality should be.
Review 75:No negatives to report. One of the best places we stayed in our 3 week Ireland/Scotland trip.
Review 76:Great room in the center of town. Owners went well beyond what was expected to make your stay enjoyable. Provided excellent dinner recommendations and driving directions. Breakfast was outstanding.
Review 77:Martin the owner had a really good knowledge of the area and always asked, at breakfast, where we were visiting that day. He gave us some very good tips as to scenic routes we could take and places to stop on our journey. A thoroughly enjoyable short break which included an excellent breakfast.
Review 78:We arrived very early - no problem, we could access our room straight away. We had a bit of a mix up with the bill (our fault). Owners were very helpful and we sorted things out with a minimum of fuss. A beautiful location and a very enjoyable stay.
Review 79:Nice to have a en suite, but it was small, glad I'm a smallish Person!
Review 80:All the staff, great local knowledge, and advice, make great food, Location was perfect. A beautiful place in a beautiful town in a great country.
Review 81:Our hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was so clean and kept clean each day. The smell of fresh washing as we walked in after a day out was so lovely. Breakfast was great and the location was fantastic.
Review 82:There are two rooms connected by a dividing door, which is fine if you know the people next door, not so good if you don't as you can hear every sound and word! Probably best to cover this door with a good soundproofing material.
Review 83:Excellent position, super breakfast, friendly and helpful hosts. Rooms at the front have a good view of the main street and square. There are good country walks from the town without using a car.
Review 84:Having separate bathroom away from the bedroom.
Review 85:Owner - friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. Prepared to converse and advise guests. Provided gluten free food.
Review 86:The outstanding friendliness of the owners who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. There was a lot of attention to detail to make life comfortable for travellers. We intend to return for a longer stay next time.
Review 87:90 pound cost was too high for what we got especially with bathroom out a door and across hall. Also, loud voices from bar across street until 3 am. Not close to any lochs glens or forest!
Review 88:Location was very convenient
Review 89:Nice size rooms, very pleasant owners, very good breakfast included.
Review 90:Love Martin and his wife! Adored staying there.
Review 91:second room booked by our party had very small ensuite facility.
