Reviews for The Dharma Lodge
Review 1:Check-in time for this place was 1pm. We turned up at 3. The place was not ready, I.e. not clean. We asked the owner sue if we could get a double bed room as we had not realised we booked a room with two single beds. The owner sue was extremely rude, she had no manners whatsoever. She raised her voice and told us we had booked the cheapest room: insulting us and accusing us of shouting at her even though we were being polite. The place was very dirty, the radiator was not working and instead of relocating us we were asked to pay more money for another room. I would definitely not stay at such a place like this where you are treated like an animal. It is not worth the money. The owner is greedy for money with no respect for others. I would give it 0% rating
Review 2:Cleaners was nice, Manager Sue Bungsraz was really horrible and had such an attitude, would not recommend this hotel to anyone. No Mannors at all, can't believe she is the Manager.
Review 3:The hotel itself is a bit hard to find as its directly behind the Dharma Opportunities Centre, and the driveway up to the parking is a little hard to actually get into.
Review 4:The people were super lovely, parking was readily available, the room was immaculately clean, and all facilities we needed were supplied. Clean bathroom and beds.
Review 5:We had three guys use your triple room for a working away visit and they said it was ideal as it had basic kitchen facilities which meant they didn't have to eat out.
Review 6:a large group of youngsters stayed overnight on saturday. They were up all night shouting , arguing, in and out, slamming doors, there was a dog with them barking. It was terrible!!!!!!!!
Review 7:staff
Review 8:There is minimal signage to find the hotel, and I did wonder on arrival if I was walking into someone's porch. No keys, just a code to enter each room was a little odd...
Review 9:Basic but clean room. As a double it was small (the bed was against the wall) and the bathroom was tiny. Furniture was clean and tea/coffee facilities worked. Free Wifi worked in room - bonus!
Review 10:I arrived at 5:30pm but my room hadn't been cleaned yet so I had to wait (which was annoying after a long day of work)
Review 11:By chance my room was upgraded, it was reasonably cheap compared to other places in the area
Review 12:We arrived just before 5pm and our room hadn't been clean so we had to wait. However when we did get into our room it was spotless.
Review 13:The WiFi signal was very good.
Review 14:The room had a window, but it was practically looking at the store room. The people at hotel were extremely noisy.
Review 15:The staff were extremely helpful and provided an answer to all my questions.
Review 16:Tight bathroom. Not for big people.
Review 17:Very friendly staff. I came in late flight and the still waited for me though it´s not their policy. Room was clean and a comfy bed. Extra pay for breakfast. Had a nice chat with staff at breakfast. They also offer meditation classes. Would recommend!
Review 18:Had room next to wedding till 12 did get sleep till 3 30 wall so thin there's so much wrong with this place would never and mean never go there again
Review 19:This is the worse place I have ever stay ,trading sanders should look into this place if showed front and real rooms you would never book £62 this was a joke
Review 20:Entrance, security level, Very cold room, had to ask for Boiler and radiator to be switched on, Water from Shower was still cold.
Review 21:parking, TV reception, clean room and bathroom.
Review 22:In the morning, it was raining heavily and, as the owner was going the same direction I was, she offered to drive me half way! Room was simple, but exactly what was needed because I was only staying a night. Free wifi is an appreciated bonus.
Review 23:Everything I would certainly avoid this Hotel at all costs. I bookedthis for my guys who were working locally. They were so disgusted theyleft after one night. The beds were uncomfortable. Other guests can beheard through the thin walls so could not sleep. No fresh air as thewindow opened up to the laundry room In general the whole place is notconducive to a good nights rest. The men moved on to another hotellocally and were more than pleased. Its a shame that the Dharma Lodgecouldn't have been as good ! Important lesson leaned check thereviews on this site & others before booking this hotel.
Review 24:Absolutely nothing.
Review 25:The staff were not pleasant or helpful at all; they were curt and sarcastic. I would stay there again, but not if I had to deal with the late night staff. I received a friendly call earlier in the day though, so at least one staff is friendly.
Review 26:The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
Review 27:The curtains didn't keep out the very bright lights outside in the hall. It's fine for workmen but not for anyone on holiday etc.
Review 28:It was easy to use and the guy was helpful. All of the basics were there and working. No real complaints
Review 29:Bed was shocking. Guests can be heard through walls. And a constant beeping from alarm system. Could not sleep.
Review 30:Alarms sounding. Constant noise from other guests. Very uncomfortable lumpy bed. Don't recommend. Ok wifi.

Review 33:Tiny shower which wasn't very warm.
Review 34:in purchased a twin room but when ringing up the hotel realised we were a couple so upgraded us for free. When we arrived, they were extremely accommodating and giving us advice on transport links etc. Friendly and approachable.
Review 35:Electrical Shower ran cold after a few minutes - faulty Thermostat? Shaver light lamp needed replacing Bedside lamp needed replacing Dirt in corner of Shower room floor Couldn't get BBC1 on TV Only continental breakfast available. Was charged an additional £2 on top of booking fee to cover credit card charges, subsequently refunded when I refused to pay. Booking.com confirmation says "total charges" and I didn't need the aggravation!
Review 36:Bed was comfortable Tea / coffee facilities O.K. The two Staff I encountered were pleasant and helpful enough.
Review 37:Slightly difficult to locate, especially at night.
Review 38:Very simple. Clean and welcoming. Well organised. Comfortable. Excellent value for a one off stay over.
Review 39:No one available when we came back management playing cards so no one in reception this place is not fit for purpose and u should take off your site people rude and we where made to feel very uncomfortable
Review 40:Nothing they were very unhelpful
Review 41:The owner of the hotel was incredibly helpful from the start. I booked the hotel because I was working nights nearby. I asked for an early check in after my first night shift, and she rang me at 8am to say she had cleaned the room from the previous guest and it was ready for me! Brilliant. No waiting around to go to bed. She was very helpful, room was clean, and the hotel was in a nice quiet spot with good parking. Couldn't have asked for more. Very good value for money.
Review 42:Thin walls, poor wifi that kept losing connection. Very small bathroom so only really suitable for solo travellers.
Review 43:Friendly staff, decent room for a night. Just across the road from a small Tesco.

Review 74:Good location
Review 75:Room is nothing like the advertisement. No Breakfast , No Shower. Very limited parking next to accommodation.
Review 76:Shower in room didn't work - just a trickle.

Review 97:Better facility required!
Review 98:The receptionist did not have time. Single room was given as double room
Review 99:The room was neat
Review 100:On suite was fairly tight.
Review 101:Close to Enfield FC for our Friday night match
Review 102:The room was horrible and the shower was disgusting
Review 103:The lady was pleasant on reception
Review 104:no fans provided for room, bathroom separate to room. Basic room
Review 105:The staff are rude and ignorrent and when you try to contact them to some revives or some help they never pick up the phone had to call them 18 times before they came to switch the radiators on as it was cold in the room
Review 106:There was nothing to like worst customer service that I have seen.
Review 107:Shower door hits sink making access in/out of the narrow shower tight, fortunately for me I'm skinny. A more generously proportioned person would struggle.
Review 108:Friendly staff & Room clean and comfortable.
Review 109:I found it abit odd that all the staff went home at 5.30 (signed us in very quickly and then rushed off!!) leaving my family (7 adults) and a few other guests (who we didnt know or see) completely un-attended for the entire night, and upon arriving back after a family party finding the front door had not been locked even though there was a key pad that you had to enter a code into to get back in!!!!! (Obviously wasnt working) although the second door leading to the rooms was locked, i still felt that anyone could have wondered into the building. As the staff had all gone home, we had not been left a number in an emergency or even shown where to find information if we needed it. The hotel it'self was not easy to find, its not signed very well at all, and the broken concrete 'driveway' up to the hotel was rediculously tight to drive up and snake round to what was designated as a 'car park'. The bathrooms wer very small, only big enough for one person at any time, and i found it abit un-nerving that the windows wer'nt frosted and looked out onto neighbouring flats. There were also 2 showers in the cubicle and took me a good few minutes to work out which one to use!? And when i did manage to work it, the water trickled out... And i cant comment on the breakfast as we were not offered it, even though on the website it said breakfast was an additional £5ish per person. Unfortunately my stay here was because we couldnt book into anywere else close to our venue for the evening, it was clean and the staff were friendly but unfortunately i feel that alot more work needs to be done to the outside of this hotel to make it accessable, and sort out the safety and breakfast room inside. I wont be returning for a stay here unfortunately.
Review 110:The staff wer very polite and friendly upon arrival, as it had only just opened it was clean and tidy. The beds mattresses were very comfortable, but again i assume this is because we were one of there first guests.
Review 111:Only one cheap, flat pillow and couldn't ask for another as staff had left the site. Sheets had makeup on them, obviously not properly washed. Tea making facility was ok but no bedside table, had to get out of bed to turn off light.
Review 112:Personal nature of the staff and the rooms were nicely furnished.
Review 113:the room that we were given was on the back of a temple all we could here was loud music from the people doing there worshiping this went on for quite a while they also rent rooms out for weddings which makes it really loud at night. The room itself was very basic with really cheap thin pillows, we didn,t get much sleep at all with the people in the next room shouting and arguing we eventully gave up and left at 5 in the morning i think that this lodge is for where the dhss put people waiting for permenent housing not good at all and would not go back there even if it was for free.
Review 114:there wasn,t much to like about this hotel i cant think of anything good to say about it. i dont know where they got the picturs from but it wasn,t of the place we stayed in.
Review 115:• The lodge itself is a run down disused church building. • The car park is a building site with rubbish bags and general construction waste lying about . • The hotel as well as the room itself was in very bad condition and I did not look at all clean. The bedroom floor were dirty and dusty the curtains were stained and dusty. • The bedding was awful and was stained and asked for it to be changed although I still felt that the new bedding put on was no better than the old one they took off. • The room and building did not feel secure due to the door for the building was not locked and they was a single tumble lock to lock the bedroom. • The odour of the building and room was of stale sweet and feet. • The bathroom was not clean at all and the shower was disgusting and felt that showering would probably make me feel more unclean. • I slept quite badly due to it being extremely cold and the bed being uncomfortable as well as screaming and shouting from other rooms.
Review 116:Room wasn't cleaned properly, parking away from front door for a while, wrong advice given going to city centre
Review 117:The bloke that works there was very helpful, it was nice and cheap, had eveything i needed
Review 118:My room was very basic. No mirror over the bathroom sink, and a bare lightbulb over the bed in the bedroom. There was no side light by the bed, which was frustrating. I wouldn't stay again, even though it was cheap.
Review 119:Lovely friendly and welcoming staff. The room was spotless
Review 120:Very small rooms and extremely cramps on suite. Walls super thin to next rooms and also no double glazing. So traffic noise really bad. No blackout curtain so street light lit up the room all night.
Review 121:Staff very friendly and a good breakfast.
Review 122:I arrived late due to work, so once in the room I drooped my bag and went for some food. When I returned around 10pm I realised the room wasn't all it seemed. 1. Dirty cups. 2. Dirty sheets, hair on the pillows. 3. Stained towels. 4. Constant water dripping all night from damaged drainpipe (weather was bad but not raining all night). 5. Kettle dirty, needed to clean handle and rinse the inside out before I could use it. I didn't want to mess about complaining that time of night so got my sleeping bag and pillow from car and went to bed as I was leaving for work at 5am. I phoned reception the following day and spoke to the lady on reception. I was basically told I was a liar and there was nothing wrong with the room. I am ex military so used to roughing it and getting on with it, but I would never stay here again or let anyone I now stay. Absolutely disgusted the way I was spoken to and treated on the phone. REgards Mark
Review 123:Room was small, bed had dirty sheet, no coffee or tea in room, no towels. bed had things crawling in it, and pubic hairs. I had to keep my clothes and coat on as it was so cold. I tried to sleep in the chair. No way of getting out if there was a fire, as only 1 way in and out. Shower was filthy and mouldy. No one to complain to on the day. At 9 next morning still no one to show the state of things to. I wouldn't let my cat stay there yet alone another human being. This place must know they will have problems as they take your money before you arrive and add extra to the agreed price at that. If you want breakfast it costs extra and I don't know what time you would get it as no one is there at 9am. I strongly advise anybody who is thinking of booking a room at this so say hotel!!!! I would STRONGLY NOT TO, I REPEAT NOT TO.
Review 124:Leaving and getting out of there.
Review 125:Step to small shower . Needs visible sign on main road.
Review 126:Staff approachable and helpful at all times. Nothing too much bother. Comfortable bed and pillows. Warm. Parking
Review 127:It was difficult to access the hotel for parking and difficult to get something to eat. Wireless connection in Family Room (3 persons) was poor and we didn't use it which made our night boring.
Review 128:We had a warm welcome from staff and she was also friendly. Family Room (3 persons) was comfortable
