Reviews for The Stag Enfield

Review 1:Bathroom was small and the linens aren't cleaned.

Review 2:Room was OK, warmed and cosy. Bar downstairs is very nice to go with friends and have some drinks with friends.

Review 3:It's basically a bar with rooms above it. I was there mid week and it was loud well into 12am. Furthermore, the rooms are separated by very thin walls and you can pretty much hear everything that is going on in other rooms.

Review 4:Internet access is very good compared to other hotels. Check in was uneventful. Short/decent walk from train stations. A lot of restaurants and other amenities close by.

Review 5:The private bathroom was in a floor above which meant a trek to use the facilities. But it was clean, warm and private with a key.

Review 6:It was really handy to train and bus station. It was very warm and clean. However the 10 am checkout is early and unnecessary as there was no breakfast and it could be at least 11 am

Review 7:It was a Box room, played disco music until 2.30am, dirty bathroom, broken windows & blinds, no heating, Dirty floors, no catering in the pub below, no staff on site when bar closed.

Review 8:Location

Review 9:Firstly one of the photos on this site is deceiving because it looks as if they do food but they don't. I had the worse nights sleep I've ever had and would not recommend staying here. I stayed on a saturday and the bar is open until 2am with very loud music and i did not manage to sleep at all, mainly because of this but also the street lights and traffic noise was unbearable. I noticed on the sign outside it said ladies night every Saturday with late night bar and so was kept awake with loud drunk punters outside the window. The room smelt of smoke and the bathroom sink plug did not work along with the tv.

Review 10:The sign in the bar made me laugh, that's about it really!

Review 11:Broken shower door & bedside lamp, no towel rails for wet towels, very loud disco till 2am, climbing across bed to adjust blinds & window, no staff around in the morning

Review 12:The staff were incredibly rude when we turned up, I was simply shoved a piece of paper and told "fill this in" then after doing so I was told "rooms upstairs". The Electricty was not working after 10pm, and in the morning their was nobody to tell.the kettle, television and bedside lamps would not work and the bathroom sink would not empty. We also could not charge our phones so had to hope that the charge would last the night. Considering we paid £69 for the room I feel that it awful treatment.

Review 13:Bed was comfortable, plenty of teas and coffees for our one night stay

Review 14:No parking,No en suit(should've read it properly!)No Breakfast.Single female and the entry is round the back of the pub, down an alley!Plus someone had been smoking in the room.Overall really dissapointed.Always try and support local independent businesses but ended up in the Travel lodge.

Review 15:Brilliant staff,nice pub.

Review 16:Bathroom looked a bit tired, shower tray off colour , toilet seat loose and basin plug did not work.

Review 17:Stairways and corridors recently upgraded, with good safety Signage. Modern bedroom with nice towels .

Review 18:A bit chilly in the room, shower water too hot whereas tap water only cold

Review 19:Very nice, well lit, clean room, access 24/7 with the keys, friendly stuff

Review 20:Bathroom on a different floor, room tiny and uncomfortable bed with lots of noise transfer. If it had been £30 rather than £49 that would have been more reasonable I think!

Review 21:Staff were very friendly

Review 22:No en suite in single room even a sink would have been helpful. Street noise when window was open. Paying for room at reception could have been bit smoother.

Review 23:Nice room, comfortable bed, clean and tidy. Go in and out 24 hours a day.

Review 24:They don't serve any food, which isn't too much of a problem as there are lots of places to eat within a fairly short walk, but it would have been nicer not to be forced to go out after a long days travel. The free wifi also didnt really reach my room.

Review 25:There was a lot of noise from one guest at 4am however it is above a pub so noise was expected, the shower head was not fixed properly so it leaked a bit but was still a nice shower.

Review 26:The room was just what we needed, comfy and clean. lovely.

Review 27:There was a rather musty smell in the shower room. Lack of curtains (only blinds) meant that I woke at 4.50am when daylight broke. Traffic noise, particularly from the bus station opposite, made it difficult to go back to sleep.

Review 28:Clean room with a comfortable bed and pillows. A little small, but fine for an overnight stay. Nice soft towels. Right in the heart of Enfield Town which was very convenient for me.

Review 29:Shower unit gave either very hot or very cold water. TV reception was not good, probably due to only having an internal ariel.

Review 30:location was very close to town centre.

Review 31:Not open till 4pm in the week, then they expect you to check out at 10am. Lack of parking and no parking instructions an issue. Good room, but tv remote and tea kettle did not work.

Review 32:Room very nice and comfortable. Good guest house.

Review 33:There was a very bad smell from the toilets that did not left me sleep at all! We asked a twin room and there was a just a 1 & half bed for two persons!

Review 34:Comford bed and wide window! Tv channels even though many of them were not working! Hot water always in the shower and there was always tea and coffe if you like inthe room!

Review 35:No-one around till midday and leave key at door. We did not leave room till 11 and cleaning lady was not the world's friendliest yet the day before the room was only cleaned early afternoon. The stairs may be a challenge with luggage.

Review 36:Very central location. We had a quiet room upstairs and used it for a good night's sleep.

Review 37:Rooms are above the pub, so you hear loud music till 2 AM. Even if you close the windows, there is loud noise from the traffic and busses, which disturbs mainly in the morning. Our private bathroom appointed only to our room was in different floor. There was too much light from the street in the room in the night. The bed was quite small and uncomfortable.

Review 38:The price was quite low and the location was convenient for us.

Review 39:Found the staff to be very cold. No milk in room for tea and coffee. Could not connect to the wi-fi Check out at 10 but pub didn't open until 12.

Review 40:Room (24) was tiny. Just enough room for the bed and a suitcase. No wardrobes so anything longer than a night not ideal. The room was clean although the bathroom needed attention. The shower only seemed to have two settings, hot and extremely hot. The cubicle door wasn't the best fit. Tiny sink. It all looked a little cheap if I'm honest. Only 2 TV channels worked.

Review 41:Nice, friendly and welcoming staff. Helpful. Comfortable bed. It was adequate for a night.

Review 42:The lights kept going off because the fuse kept blowing, we spoke to a member of staff who switched it back on from the fuse board. It happened about 3 more times before we went out. Our bed sheets smelled of cigarettes. We were in room 29, which is a non-smoking room and we are both non-smokers, so that was pretty disgusting. The shower tray was grubby and the water went freezing cold halfway through my shower. I had to finish washing my hair in ice cold water and my husband had to wash using the tiny sink in the bathroom. Unfortunately, check out is at 10am and the pub doesn't open until 12noon, so we were not able to speak to anyone about our complaints.

Review 43:I needed to stay in Enfield so the location was the only good thing.

Review 44:Very noisy at night because of the pub downstairs. Shower not working no hot water!!! No handwash soap in toilets, dirty toilet bowls. Windows inrooms not closing properly, draft coming in the room.

Review 45:Hotel WiFi was bad in my room, because it was on far side of the building, but staff was helpful to suggest other wifi provider to connect to.

Review 46:Nice room, excellent location.

Review 47:Ever wanted to know what it would feel like to be a hamster inside a cage?, then go to the stag and book a room there. Have had a better night sleep on a busstop, the room was small with a plane shower, broken remote, music playing from the bar till 1am. Heating was switched off during the night, God knows why? Best thing about the place was the part I had to pack my bags and get out. Staff member was not to bad, really efficient. Hotel overall felt like a hostel, and I don't normally waste time writing reviews but being a frequent hotel enthusias , I wanted to give the heads up to anyone looking to spend a good night away from any stress. This is just my opinion do not take any offence to my comments. Dont be fooled by the price. Many thanks, John

Review 48:The cafe near by

Review 49:our "private" bathroom was used by someone else so we had to be moved to another room. Room was quite small for the price and bed in awkward position.

Review 50:hotel was near the town

Review 51:Although I changed rooms three times, there was no hot water from the sink or the shower my entire stay. There was no heating in the rooms either with temperatures outside below freezing. The owner was rude when I complained saying that "these things happen". A dreadful, miserable experience.

Review 52:Nothing

Review 53:At the time they seemed to be having heating problems. The room was warm enough as a heater was provided but there was no hot water for two days in the morning.

Review 54:Location was great, the pub was pleasant and friendly and the room spacious and comfortable

Review 55:The single room was so small and wind come into the room through window. Band's night on Friday and Saturday night. It was incredibly noisy and rocking until 2 am. Towels will not be changed unless you give tips.

Review 56:this guest house located in the centre of Enfield. there're many restaurants and stores near by.

Review 57:Private bathroom in need of refurb and hadn't realised it was up a couple of flights of stairs. Room was a little bit compact for two people but okay for one night only.

Review 58:Location good. Nice pub downstairs. Friendly welcome. Décor fairly modern and tidy.

Review 59:Its a pub with a disco untill 2am on weekends, so say no more, our room never had its own bathroom, we had to go out and up a flight of stairs to use loo or shower etc, the pub is located next to bus terminus so all night long buses in & out & drivers chatting. Theres no parking at pub, nightmare trip

Review 60:good location

Review 61:Bathroom cramped and dirty Toilet took ages to empty Room small and damp Room near bus turnaround point so noisy Entrance to the rooms is up two flights of external stairs If the pub is closed, checking in could be a problem so make prior arrangement

Review 62:Location - centre of Enfield and close to main line rail service to London Close to eating places for breakfast

Review 63:Hairs in the bed - not mine (head and other areas). Room damp. Room to room noise poor. The couple next door had lots of fun. Wish they got to the end faster - not all night. It felt like I was in their room. Shower door a struggle to close. All in all very poor experience.

Review 64:Not much

Review 65:other rooms looked better than my little single room at rear of building, bathroom upstairs.tv on some digital transmitter, not good.

Review 66:price was good, location is good, bar area is good.

Review 67:Room very small Smell of damp TV reception poor Had to arrive and leave the room at times that did not suit, no parking meant my movement was restricted to the street parking times.

Review 68:the noise from the late bar in the lower rooms. At the weekend the music plays till 02.00. In room 25 it was impossible to sleep we did ask the staff about it but other than that fine

Review 69:Location and price

Review 70:No longer does breakfast Rooms are starting to look a little tired. The only hanging peg had fallen off the wall leaving no place to hang anything. The shower door was difficult to close properly. The tiles on the bathroom floor were cracked.

Review 71:Location is excellent and beds are comfortable and clean.

Review 72:There was nothing that we did t like

Review 73:Loved the location, very well situated for transport links to London and surrounding areas and was I. Walking distance of my family I had gone to visit

Review 74:I had room 23 which is at the front of the pub/hotel directly opposite is the bus turning area so getting much sleep was not an option :( . expensive for what it is

Review 75:Nice room , comfy bed

Review 76:The bathroom was a bit small, but fine for one night, it was clean and the shower worked well. The only thing was there was a problem with damp, the bathroom had no ventilation or extractor and it was not possibly to open the window. The damp smells, it was quite off putting.

Review 77:This was a beautifully presented room, clean and modern and with all the facilities you need. It is very central to the town.

Review 78:Nothing really

Review 79:Price was excellent . Paid 114 for 2 nights .. very close to town so limited food option not a problem at all . Close to railway station for access to London .. Late bar opening with good choice of beers and good atmosphere . The whole place was immaculately clean . Room was perfect ..

Review 80:Very small, two large people would struggle. No long mirror and no where to put anything in the shower. A lot of noise from the roads outside and the blinds were filthy.

Review 81:Décor was good, comfy bed with crisp linen. Great lighting and most things you need were there.

Review 82:Man who took my payment was very rude, arrogant and sarcastic. He naturally assumed that I was not going to pay Too noisy with pub downstairs also being right next to bus terminus.

Review 83:The cleaning lady was very nice. Wi-Fi access good.

Review 84:Small, cold room. Bathroom too far away and up steep, winding stairs. Loud music until 1.45am. Thin walls - we could hear other tv's and other personal noises. No breakfast available. Noise from the bus station from 5am.

Review 85:I opted for the double room with private bathroom and I would not recommend booking this option , unfortunately the bathroom is situated on the next floor and although bed is very comfortable the clientele from pub congregated outside right underneath window to chat and the noise from bus station was more prominent than the room that I stayed in before . I would stay again but not in that room

Review 86:My second stay at Stag and although small rooms they are well laid out , beds are comfortable and everything clean and fresh Staff are friendly and helpful

Review 87:Rooms are Tiny, bathroom stank of damp and had bad plumbing. Generally dirty and neglected no staff on premises until 3pm. Friday and Saturday nights the downstairs pub is open till 2am and has a DJ so is super noisy. Bus depo across the road so bring ear plugs

Review 88:The Location near to transport and shops

Review 89:toilet was dirty, and on that night the noise was too much,we could hardly sleep and to our disadvantage we had to check out very early to meet our scheduled appointment time.

Review 90:location is okay

Review 91:room 24 is too small and should be a lovely single. That said we were moved without fuss to a lovely room and will stay again

Review 92:the location to town and travel routes were great

Review 93:Shower difficult to control temperature. Had to clean down coffee tea area on arrival in room.

Review 94:Excellent location. Friendly pub staff. Reasonable bar prices. Good transport links.

Review 95:O course, Enfield is far out and one has the trips to central London into the bargain, but note what I say in green! I would be delighted if you could resume serving breakfast although I can imagine some considerations that may have made you abolish it. It’s nice to sit down for a bite and a drink in the morning and see someone from the house.

Review 96:I like the surroundings of the hotel, with the parks and the lively Broadway of the town. In my room I felt at home and found everything I needed in a very good state. Despite the nearness of the pub it was very quiet. My room faced the yard which dimmed down the traffic noise. One morning I walked up to town and was impressed by the old church and the market. Enfield Chase station is very close and the main-line trains take you to central London in a fairly short time.

Review 97:Shared bathroom, no sink in room. Had to wait for others to use toilet & shower before I could go in to clean my teeth.

Review 98:Nice clean modern room. Excellent check in, friendly staff.

Review 99:Room was tiny. Had obviously been converted into several smaller rooms from a much larger room. Throw on bed was stained and there was also some kind of spillage on the windowsill that had not been cleaned up from previous guests. Bathroom was tiny too. Room was directly above the pub. Thought the pub would close around midnight so would not have been a problem but disco was on until 2 am and was far too noisy to be able to get to sleep!

Review 100:Located at the end of Enfield High Street was very convenient.

Review 101:we left a pendant on a chain in a room, we tried to contact with e-mai- it came back, I guess it doesn't work, we tried to write them on facebook, but there was no response..

Review 102:comfortable bed, clean, nice

Review 103:No facilities for after hours drink.. Had to drink from the bathroom tap!.. Could hear loud music & drinks all night till 2am from pub downstairs. Very thin walls; could hear next door having sex, and their bed banging on the wall. Bathroom smelt thoughout whole visit! Highly disappointing!.. Should be a hostel.

Review 104:Shower in our room(21) and in shower room were absolutely awful, not being able to get a hot shower in this day and age is unacceptable

Review 105:Really friendly staff-lovely cosy room

Review 106:Wifi didn't work, loud bar underneath not mentioned when booking, bar manager arguing with guests at 11:30pm, manager also unhelpful when asking to use the phone

Review 107:One of our rooms was not available and as we arrived late after a wedding, with children, we had a most unpleasant experience trying to ascertain what had gone wrong as the manager was uncontactable.

Review 108:the location is very handy

Review 109:No room air conditioning. Small bus terminal directly outside. No breakfast or evening meal. Restricted parking.

Review 110:Staff are excellent & very helpful. Restaurants and amenities very close. Reasonable access to onward transport options. Daily room change, new towels, toiletries, room refreshments etc.

Review 111:there is a bar with loud music everyday till 2 am, so basically you can't sleep until that time! Staff was rude when i asked them to stop music or give us a quitter room. Also, during day time the noise from the bus station was a lot. the double bedroom was tiny rooms can't fit too people comfortably. All over was a very bad experience, the worst hotel i stayed in my life

Review 112:nothing

Review 113:BATHROOM ALTHOUGH PRIVATE WAS UP A FLIGHT OF STAIRS. HOT NIGHT SO WINDOWS OPEN, NEXT TO BUS GARAGE, VERY NOISY DISTURBED SLEEP

Review 114:LOCATION EXCELLENT SPOTLESS ROOM LOVELY DECOR COMFY

Review 115:The narrow stairs can be difficult to navigate with luggage.

Review 116:A lovely place to stay, extremely pleasant staff, very accommodating. The town of Enfield is charming with very friendly people.

Review 117:WELCOME FINE, AND PREVIOUS TIPS ON PARKING OVER PHONE HELPFUL.

Review 118:Good location, helpful staff.

Review 119:Really kind staff and lovely clean comfy environment

Review 120:Only problem was the last night. Someone constantly knocking on another rooms door down the corridor woke me up about 3 am !

Review 121:Did not like having to exit and enter during day via outdoor metal fire escape stairs. Room rather small.

Review 122:No parking

Review 123:N/A

Review 124:Fabulous little hotel, comfortable and I am happy to return again.

Review 125:Room itself was clean but the bathroom smell horrible

Review 126:The window wouldn't close. The shower didn't work properly.
