Reviews for Fieldways Boutique B&B
Review 1:No lock on bedroom door and when arriving late afternoon/night in winter, would be great if sign/light or something out at entry more obvious so know you are in correct place. Of all the B&B's we stayed in during our recent visit to the UK, lowest rating we have given. Over priced compared to all the other beautiful places we stayed in UK
Review 2:Owner friendly
Review 3:My friend and I stayed here for two nights over New Year's Eve. We wanted somewhere walking distance from a pub and the Plough Inn (with excellent food and wine) is literally 3 minutes walk away. The location is an ideal base for exploring all of the villages in the Cotswolds and the owner, Alan will actually map out a route for you to take where you can do a loop and end up back at the B&B. We found this very helpful. The house is very quaint and full of beautiful paintings and furniture and of course a wonderful open fire place. Even the two resident cats, Paddington and Monty are the prettiest cats I've ever seen. The hospitality we received was second to none and we were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived. We ended up returning from the pub early and seeing the new year in with owners Alan and Pauline (who are very lovely and interesting people) and the other delightful guests who were staying there. I'm not sure such a lovely environment would have been created for us to enjoy that evening in at any other B&B. The breakfast is top quality and Alan will ask you the night before how you would like your eggs. We really enjoyed all of the complimentary touches such as a drink upon arrival and a lovely pot of tea when we arrived back from a day of walking. Very thoughtful. I appreciated the fact that Alan would remember our names and introduced us to the other guests in the house as we arrived. As new guests arrived he would also introduce them to us and for this reason nobody felt like a stranger at breakfast. I would recommend Fieldways to everyone and I am hoping to stay there again in the summer.
Review 4:No milk in bedroom for coffee and tea, parking difficult, breakfast choice poor and sparse.
Review 5:Bedroom size & bed. Room clean, Tea & coffee available, helpful and pleasant host. Breakfast tasty.
Review 6:The bathrooms were a little "tired" and would benefit from a refurb.
Review 7:Host was wonderful, nothing was too much trouble; welcomed us with a glass of sherry. The guest lounge was very comfortable with a roaring fire and two very friendly cats.
Review 8:Beautiful home in a stunning setting. Luxury touches in the bathroom an unexpected pleasure. Warm welcome from a charming host.Even the teenager loved her cosy bedroom And a great pub at the end of the drive!
Review 9:We reserved a room with a queen bed, which I confirmed via email, and when we got there, they took us to a beautiful room with a queen bed. Then we went out to dinner and when we came back, Alan, the owner, explained that they had moved all of our things to another room because they had made an error in booking. The new room had TWIN beds. We are a couple on vacation, so that did not sit well with us and no financial compensation was made. Very unhappy with sleeping arrangements.
Review 10:It's a beautiful setting, close walk to the local pub, but that's all there is within walking distance.
Review 11:There is nothing.
Review 12:Absolutely perfect! Everything was fantastic! Alan and Pauline are very helpful and kindness. Moreover, Monty and Paddington so cute! Thank you so much. I will be back!
Review 13:This is an amazing and very special B&B. Alan is your genial host and nothing is too much trouble. A glass of wine once you are settled in. The ancient house is packed with history of Alan's life, very elegant antique furniture with lovely paintings and two cats all in a relaxed country setting within a gated garden at the end of a lane. Alan's breakfast is amazing, we stayed 2 nights and each morning we met the other guests and breakfast took 95 minutes, there was so much to discuss. Thank you Alan and Pauline for an exceptional two nights.
Review 14:Couldn't be better.
Review 15:Surrounded by a 'Cotswolds view', it commands many sheep grazing in yards away and welcomes you with donkeys, cats and Alan, the owner, who gives a warm support for your nicer stay. He also is a great chef, making a best English breakfast. Inside the house, it gives a lovely touch with elegance of furniture, pictures and country living. Besides, the English garden is so well-organized I want to come back in the spring time again. Thank you Alan!
Review 16:Alan was most welcoming and extremely helpful with information of local destinations and sites of interest even to the point of drawing special maps for us. We had access to most rooms of the house and so it felt as if we were staying with family. Breakfast was beautifully prepared and served in the formal dining room. It seemed no request would have been too much trouble. We could not recommend Fieldways highly enough! Thank you Alan for a wonderful stay.
Review 17:Excellent all round..fabulous location, beautiful scenery, friendly very accommodating hosts, breakfast delish, room very comfortable..felt 'special' staying there...highly recommended.
Review 18:Nothing at all !
Review 19:A great location for visiting all areas of the Cotswolds in a charming cul-de-sac in a typical village atmosphere. The owners Alan and Pauline were very welcoming and made us feel totally at home during our stay, they provided detailed directions and comments for all local sightseeing. A most enjoyable traditional hearty English breakfast and their late afternoon happy hour was most generous!
Review 20:There was nothing about the whole experience that we didn't like.
Review 21:From start to finish our whole experience was amazing. Owners very welcoming. Place was kept spotlessly clean. Breakfast was fantastic.
Review 22:English hospitality at it's best. Beautiful home with a stunning view in the Cotswolds country- side. Love the decor & antiques. Allan made us feel so welcome and made sure we were comfortable. He allowed us to use the reception room & listen to beautiful music. I loved the fact we were given carrots to feed the two donkeys & experience the beautiful views outside once we arrived - set the mood! Great English breakfast. Highly recommended for any traveller who wants the ultimate English hospitality in the most beautiful village - pub is 3 minutes away with great food. Allan is a fantastic host.
Review 23:The friendliness of the owner was unbelievable, such a lovely man. As soon as we arrived he offered us tea and biscuits because we had had a long day. The breakfast was delicious. Our room, the green room, was very comfortable and I wouldn't hesitate to book it again. Overall I would highly recommend Fieldways and would definitely book there again.
Review 24:This was a wonderful weekend spent at Fieldways. Mr Graham is a great host, cooks a lovely English breakfast and is very knowledgeable of the surrounding area of the Cotswolds. He made some really good suggestions and provided us with a very easy to follow map to all the great spots around. The house itself is quintessentially British and truly an experience to live in. Cats are a great plus, especially while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea in the conservatory. Will definitely return!
Review 25:Wonderful stay at this B&b, Mr.Alan is very kind, he made us feel at home and he prepares a delicious english breakfast. Lovely location and house.
Review 26:Beautiful location, delicious breakfast, helpful host who mapped out day's travel instructions with places to eat, shops, & places of interest. Even helped me find a saint of a driver to take me to Hearhrow when rental car broke down. Highly recommend!!!id
Review 27:Minor problem - My laptop accessed the wifi ok but not through to the internet for 4 days out of 5 but my tablet computer was fine all the time.
Review 28:Very friendly. Felt at home immediately.
Review 29:Nothing !
Review 30:The owners of Fieldways could not do enough for us. The premises were above excellent and the breakfasts in the morning were exceptional. Will be going back there.
Review 31:Staying at the Fieldways is like staying in a lovely English country home replete with a beautiful garden and even donkeys to feed in a back paddock ! The hosts were most welcoming and gracious. Breakfasts were scrumptious, prepared and cooked by no less than the man of the house himself, Alan Graham !
Review 32:I have stayed at Fieldways B&B before. The location is A++++. Alan and Pauline really pamper their guests and Alan cooks a lovely breakfast. I plan to return again in 2016.
Review 33:Very hard to find with directions furnished from Booking.com. No address number so our navigation could not guide us there =(
Review 34:The location was great with beautiful gardens and amazing views. Bed was comfy and room and bath were very clean. Alan, our in keeper was great and fixed us a wonderful breakfast
Review 35:Gorgeous setting in a quiet village that is close to so many wonderful attractions in the Cotswolds. Owner Allen is a wonderful host full of great advice on the area. Loved the kitties, too! Comfy bed and delicious breakfasts with an unending supply of tea! Allen's garden and art collection are not to be missed!
Review 36:The room we were allocated was right at the top of one set of stairs & the beds were in the attic on another set of stairs. Maybe it could be mentioned in the description re stairs.
Review 37:Alan is a very good host, cup of tea and cake to greet us, helped out with directions for the next few days of travel, breakfast was super.

Review 41:Loved it all. Thank you Alan. Will see you again.
Review 42:A paradise location in the heart of the Cotswalds. Alan & Pauline were so welcoming to we weary walkers. A nice hot bath with a candle. A cup of tea. A glass of wine. And a great country pub just around the corner. Our best B & B experience on our Walk.
Review 43:1. A very comfortable B&B; 2. I really like the owner's taste on his collections in furniture and paintings; 3. The owner is a nice gentleman.
Review 44:We found the property very difficult to locate as there were no signs around the village.
Review 45:A very homely and comfortable place to stay. Alan was the perfect host, and nothing was too much trouble for any of his guests.
Review 46:Its not value for money as the price charged was too high. However, considering you want to stay in cotswolds, you have no other choice.
Review 47:Comfortable stay, good breakfast, nice location with ample parking space, excellent host with homely atmosphere
Review 48:No hot water the first morning (BUT we were moved to another room as soon as we mentioned the problem - even though the plumber was able to fix the problem later in the day).
Review 49:The rooms were lovely and well appointed, the full breakfast was generous and perfectly cooked. Alan made us welcome, letting us use the conservatory, lounge and garden and even provided a cake for my mother-in-law's birthday!
Review 50:The fact that I had to go home.
Review 51:A personal, homely and idealistic B & B with the standards of an international 5 star hotel in a picture postcard location.
Review 52:Great hosts and an exceptional position of the property, great views, marvelous food. Very homely place with a freedom to use the other rooms in the property which is unusual
Review 53:The room was rather cold at night, which was understandable as it is an old (renovated) house, still the electric blankets did warm us up.
Review 54:Fantastic location, very close to Bourton on the water and the rest of the beautiful Cotswold villages, beautiful house, exceptional hospitality from Alan, great breakfast, very nice communal areas, fully equipped room, clean and taken good care of.
Review 55:V v pretty house .. Alan is fine with you his sitting area with a fireplace. He is an excellent host n we quite enjoyed our little welcome discussion with a glass of red wine. Delicious breakfast. Plus what really made a great difference to us was that alan helped us map out our onward journey and suggested places which we would have otherwise missed! Hope we could have stayed longer!
Review 56:It was expensive but it was New Year. The bedroom door didn't lock.
Review 57:Friendly owners. Good location and felt very at home there. Nice breakfast. Overall very nice.
Review 58:Nothing
Review 59:This is a great b and b- really clean, comfortable, and friendly with advise and assistance on hand from the hosts Alan and Pauline. It felt a real home from home- a lot of work goes into such a relaxing experience! There is a brilliant pub very near with good food and the location is fantastic.
Review 60:Allan was an excellent host in his home, breakfast was very good especially the haggis. His knowledge of the area was excellent, loved the maps he drew for us to find our way around.
Review 61:We had to leave.
Review 62:Alan and Pauline are the most gracious hosts. They could not have done more to make us feel at home. Our stay was so incredible we came back for another go. The location is ideal, just an hours drive from Heathrow, in the heart of the Cotswolds. On our next visit in May 2015 were staying for a week. We couldn't be happier.
Review 63:We had a wonderful host Alan Graham. He was like family to us. We were traveling for our first time to England and had no car. Alan saved us by driving us around as otherwise we would have never gone to Stratford Upon Avon or back to the train station. He treated us like royalty and we loved the breakfasts he served. He also is an animal lover and it was fun to share the house with cat and dogs. The Plough is a pub just 200 yards from his house and we went there every night to hang out with the locals.
Review 64:This is a charming B&B with great gardens and outdoor area. Indoors, the lounge, conservatory and dining room are all very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The room with king size bed was very comfortable. Alan is an excellent host who provides all those little extras that go to make a great stay even better. He made us feel very welcome, offering refreshments on arrival and offered helpful suggestions on planning our sightseeing itinerary each day. Not only that, Alan is an excellent chef and his gourmet breakfasts (particularly the poached eggs, or scrambled eggs Queen Mary style) are just perfect. It was sad when we had to leave such a wonderful place.
Review 65:Bit out of the way Phone service and Internet was v dodgy (area-wide though)
Review 66:Warmth of welcome Lots of travel/tourism tips Breakfast was generous Very lovely location Gardens Comfortable room and large bathroom
Review 67:We couldn't stay longer!
Review 68:The location was great although a bit difficult to find. Upon arriving our hosts invited us for a glass of wine and were very friendly. The B&B is a gorgeous home and conveniently located a rock throw away from a nearby pub and a couple miles away from Bourton on the Water. Breakfast was the best I have had yet at a B&B. Would definitely recommend!
Review 69:Absolutely nothing
Review 70:Stayed three nights there a couple of weeks ago and had a really enjoyable stay. Alan and Pauline are excellent hosts and make you very welcome. Alan has a wealth of local knowledge, so you won't be stuck for any ideas! We also had a very comfortable room and the mornings were welcomed with a full breakfast to set you up for the day. We still have to work those off! Thank you both.
Review 71:...it rained part of the time, but, hey, it's England!
Review 72:Alan and Pauline went out of their way to not only make us feel comfortable, but also to feel special. The home is beautiful and immaculate. Our room was comfortable and quiet. But best of all was the conversation and the breakfasts. Alan even had some special breakfast surprises for us to enhance our stay. We can't say enough about how welcome we felt and how lovely the setting was - even for the already spectacular Cotswolds region. When we return, I can't see us staying anywhere else.
Review 73:cramped bedroom in attic which wasn't serviced. En suite on lower floor reached by a steep curved staircase.
