Reviews for The Cornishman Inn
Review 1:Cooked breakfasts were not available until 9am, which was not great as we wanted to get an early start. Basic continental breakfasts were available from 8am however.
Review 2:Room was clean and comfortable. Meals in bar were good.
Review 3:terrible wi fi.... hardly any..breakfast choices very limited, had to ask for specified milk that had been requested before travel.... hardly any food options for non english cooked breakfast eaters...
Review 4:location wonderful, staff very helpful and friendly
Review 5:Nothing at all, we enjoyed every minute.
Review 6:Very friendly, helpful staff. Beautiful home cooked food. Good selection of beers. Excellent location for sightseeing.
Review 7:Breakfast poor.
Review 8:Hotel very clean and at walking distance from Tintagel Castle, so if you are travelling by car no need to pay car parking for visiting the Castle! Staff excellent,
Review 9:Horrible internet in our room. Had to go down to bar for decent service. The free breakfast was ridiculous, given the amount we had to pay for the room. Just a few items thrown on the bar?! Bread in the plastic loaf bag?! Gross.
Review 10:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent!
Review 11:Not directly attributable to the hotel but it is very irritating when another guest chooses to watch a tv show on his smart phone without using headphones. Surely guests should be discouraged from doing this in public areas! It is extremely rude and anti-social.
Review 12:Comfortable, cozy room with lovely view. very clean and well maintained. Choice of area, ie public bar, snug bar and lounge extensions. Plenty of parking space and outdoor seating and garden with play equipment. Friendly and helpful staff. Relaxed atmosphere with good food. Lovely breakfast. We would stay here again.
Review 13:Location was amazing, Garden area was well kept & great for kids, Friendly and helpful staff. Quiet at night and a good range of beers available. All meals were very tasty too.
Review 14:The room was ok but the flooring was creaky and the walls did let a lot of noise through.
Review 15:The staff were very friendly, however, we did witness a member of staffs boyfriend get very agitated and angry toward her and this did somewhat concern us and spoilt our meal as we were concerned with her safety,
Review 16:Only instant coffee at breakfast. The duvet was a little heavy for a warm night. Unlucky choice of room because there was an early delivery van with a noisy engine who stopped right outside my window.
Review 17:Perfect location. Easy and friendly atmosphere. The room was airy and the bathroom was a good size. It was clean. Food was fine with a good choice of evening menu. Very thoughtful arrangements for smokers.
Review 18:The wifi never worked in the rooms or even downstairs in the main pub, so having no signal for phone messages or even Internet was very frustrating especially as I booked the room because of it having wifi as I knew my phone would not work down there and I could not then do some work that I had as well.
Review 19:The location of the B&B was a perfect place in the centre of the village, near to everything. The cleanliness of the room was fantastic everyday and was lovely to always come back to a tidy clean room all of the time.
Review 20:Cooked breakfast isn't served until 9am. Which is not possible to have if working there on business.
Review 21:perfect location in a lovely village surrounded by pubs, shops and restaurants. Free parking.
Review 22:An excellent location for exploring Tintagel. Food was good and the staff accommodating with our 7 years old'd request at breakfast, and he loved the room.
Review 23:The Friendliness of the staff; they were very helpful. A great atmosphere and lovely accomadation Good Food and a great selction of wines, spirits and beer behind the bar
Review 24:Friendly staff in a what is a charming little pub. The room was small but clean and certainly more than adequate for the one night we stayed there. Sky TV and wifi available. Evening meal in the pub and breakfast were lovely.
Review 25:Were advised check in was 13:00 at time of booking. When we arrived at 14:30 were tol no check in until 15:00. After seeing booking confirmation, girl checked and said room not ready until 15:00. We decided to dine in after seeing a particular meal advertised on bard outside. Computer had meal listed for 2 pounds more. When I explained about special board, girl said thanks for telling me and charged dearer amount. Left a bad taste. Breakfast bar had one old banana, few apples and two bunches of grapes with cereal and toast. No yoghurt, only instant coffee when they have signs behind bar for 'proper' coffee. Bathroom very tiny, which is not unusual, but almost sitting under hand basin when on toilet, and no hooks for hand towel or clothes etc.
Review 26:Great location. Easy walk to castle and cliffs. Cooked part of breakfast good. Wifi worked, but went off every now and then.
Review 27:My only disappointment from this trip was listening to a young man behind the bar talking with some of the locals about how he would run it better, and criticising his boss.
Review 28:Room pricey for the offering, but pub good value with good food.
Review 29:Room & bathroom clean and comfortable, good food and beer in pub below. Helpful staff, on-site parking. Nice beer garden for children.
Review 30:The Cornishman Inn was absolutely lovely place to stay. Very close to local National trust walks. Friendly staff clean airy rooms and great services such as WiFi and tv.
Review 31:Too much noise at night until early hours of the morning on both nights of our stay.We booked a table for an evening meal on our first evening, the food was ok but table top sticky to touch!
Review 32:Staff friendly and the beds were comfortable.
Review 33:Other two bars a bit soulless. Really noisy late at night with revellers coming and going. A bit concerned that no lock on inside of bathroom door but could be locked from outside and as no window in bathroom this could be dangerous
Review 34:Friendly staff. Great food. Lovely olde world middle bar. Clean room. Pretty looking building. Nice play area for kids. Plenty of outside tables (shame about weather).
Review 35:Quite a lot of noise for a village location. Bed was rather too firm and the two together meant that I slept badly. Food was ok but have had better at British counrty inns.
Review 36:Staff were friendly, location is great. Nice terrace and ambiance in the old part is good.
Review 37:not enough staff, breakfast cooked could not get b4 9am so had to make do with toast and tea made yourself. downstairs toilets not good.
Review 38:room was nice but very stuffy as only small window.Nice garden and outside space but a lot of ants.
