Review 7:Maggie who welcomes her guests with tea and biscuits in the lounge and serves breakfast at the dining room table set with silver and porcelain. Being surrounded by a working farm and engaging in lively conversation with the other guests over a leisurely breakfast.

Review 11:Warm an friendly Maggie welcome with tea and yum yum biscuits. Loved the room décor and cleanliness. Wifi low but hey on a real working Farm, what do you expect. Five star service with a smile and breakfasts to die for. No rush take your time you in Yorkshire.......Devine!
Review 12:I could find no negatives
Review 13:One of the best B&B`s we have ever stayed in.The beds were luxurious, the room could not be faulted, the breakfast was to die for,and Maggie was a brilliant hostess.
Review 14:Not one bad thing. The on!y frustration was the very intermittent WiFi....which we had been given notice of.
Review 15:In an ideal country setting, with Fountajns Abbey and Studley Gardens literally on the doorstep, Maggie was the perfect hostess, with a warm welcome, friendly and helpful. Sleep was quiet and peaceful with only the sound of wildlife and occasional moo. The bedroom windows opened, we could control our own heating. The bed and bedding was comfort itself...we hadn't slept so well in a long time! Breakfast was delicious, made to order and not an individual jam pot or sugar packet in sight on the breakfast table. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, will recommend, and return again
Review 16:welcome/friendly family, excellent food, good clean comfortable accommodation and location just perfect. Loved the farm in Spring, great to have photos and description of restaurants nearby
Review 17:We did not have a bad experience, but I would have preferred a harder bed.
Review 18:We liked everything. Great welcome. Extravagant breakfast all with local produce. Charming old farmhouse, or if you prefer you can stay in the converted farm buildings. In all this farmhouse B + B is just so relaxing and welcoming.
Review 19:The owner Maggie was very welcoming and has created a warm and friendly place to stay. The room we stayed in was very clean and even had freshly made cookies and brownies. Breakfast was very tasty and set us up for the day ahead. Maggie is a credit to the b&b world. Thank you!
Review 20:going home
Review 21:just returned from a lovely weekend at Mallard Grange and would recommend to anyone to stay as Maggie and staff were so lovely and helpful our room was lovely with a big comfortable bed, and breakfast was cooked to perfection
Review 22:Not a thing
Review 23:The whole experience from fresh coffee and homemade biscuits on arrival through to Maggie booking us a taxi for the evening out, unbelievable hospitality and legendary breakfast.
Review 24:It is a working farm - so expect some farm smells and noises (this didn't cause us any issues, but other potential visitors need to be aware before booking).
Review 25:The old farmhouse is full of character and very close (just over 1 mile) from Fountains Abbey, which makes it ideal for parkrun tourists (the only down side being a minimum 2 nights, but that was fine for us as we were site seeing around Yorkshire anyway). Breakfast was excellent (1st day, because of the run, we only had a light breakfast, but it was served at 7:15 at our request). Very friendly and very relaxing.
Review 26:.Simple ,Nothing!
Review 27:Location. Greeting on arrival with tea and biccies. The accommodation / breakfast. We were in the main house , but there is a cottage. Ask. The owner, who is a professional with long term experience. The location is what is on the web site . I would go again ,as other guests there had done.
Review 28:Very friendly, like a house party would be at breakfast time. Very well furnished comfy room. Very quiet at night; no disturbance from animals despite being on a farm. The owner couldn't have been more helpful. Lots to see in the area: could have stayed a second week and still found things to do, despite less than perfect weather.
Review 29:Very welcoming. Breakfast was great. Great Location for fountains abbey. Went the extra mile on a couple of occasions, notably alerting me that I had left my house keys behind before I'd even noticed they were missing and posting them to me next day delivery that same morning. Worth going back for the home made jams. Made us feel part of the family rather than guests. Thanks for a great stay.
Review 30:The minute we arrived and saw the adorable bundles of fluff lying around the barnyard, we were smitten before even seeing the rooms. The dog, Reef, was lovely too. The welcome from Maggie was warm and welcoming and can't be faulted. The same can be said about everything else, faultless, of high quality and highly recommended. We would definitely stay there again.
Review 31:We stayed overnight at Mallard Grange and had a lovely time. Maggie was a great host and provided good advice on nearby dining options. The bedroom was large, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was excellent and provided a nice opportunity to meet with other guests. Fountains abbey could not be closer. We were very satisfied.
Review 32:Not a big deal but Wifi was very intermittent in our room in the separate stone building. It was excellent by the main house either inside or outside.
Review 33:A lovely large, modern, quiet room. A delicious breakfast served family style so we met some other interesting guests. Most of all a delightfully friendly and helpful hostess. We stayed 4 days and wished we could have stayed longer.

Review 67:What can you say about Mallard Grange .So peaceful and relaxing which is all down to the lovely Maggie who makes you feel right at home . Nothing is too much trouble for her and she is a hive of knowledge too. We didn't feel rushed to finish breakfast or vacate our room after our stay. Our room was spotlessly clean ,so comfortable and roomy . Loved the fact that you all eat at the same table for breakfast as you get to meet some interesting people and there is more scope to chat like you do around the table at home .We loved it . The attention to detail is second to none . Fresh flowers in your room ( roses my favourite) , dressing gowns , a daily supply of cookies ,bathroom cleaned daily and bed remade for you .This is a little hidden gem and well worth a stay .You do need a car as it isn't near anything local but that didn't matter to us .We have never stayed anywhere and felt so at home .Well done to Maggie and by the way ,the breakfast is fabulous .
Review 68:The stay was so relaxed and comfortable; nothing was too much trouble. Maggie's hospitality and catering were second to none and I can't wait for a return visit. Excellent location for touring the area and first class accommodation.
Review 69:Room was great, more like a suite and spotless. Great location and warm and genuine welcome. Fabulous breakfasts round one large table which ended up as lengthy social occasions. Best b and b I've stayed in.
Review 70:A warm welcome and the enthusiasm of Maggie Johnson for sourcing the best ingredients for memorable breakfasts. Our Full English Breakfasts were even better than the one we enjoyed at the Michelin starred pub where we stayed on the first day of our trip.
Review 71:The landlady Maggie was superb, very hospitable, very friendly. We had home made jams, marmalades and hot croissants! We would definitely go there again and highly recommend it. We liked it so much we wanted to stay another night unfortunately she was fully booked but Maggie recommended another beautiful working farm run B&B called The Cundall Lodge again we highly recommend.
Review 72:Nothing was too much trouble. Room was lovely. Breakfast was delicious. Maggie was the best host ever and she put chocolates by the bed each night... What more could you ask for ! We will be back Brad & Roz x

Review 79:Everything! We received the warmest of welcomes on arrival and excellent service from Maggie and the girls throughout our stay. Our room was spacious with everything in place that was promised and the breakfast was outstanding. We, and other guests benefitted from Maggie's advice on places of interest and off the beaten track routes to follow as well as recommendations for interesting eating places.
Review 80:If arriving at night the sign is quite difficult to spot, so could benefit from being lit at night.
Review 81:Is nice to stay at a hotel/B&B where you have towels that are big enough for your body. They also provide robes too, so well done. Breakfast is really good, the perfect start to the day.
Review 82:There was not the smallest thing that we did not like.
Review 83:A lovely , private room of the highest standard of comfort, combined with utter peace and quiet. From the moment we arrived we were treated like honoured guests and this continued throughout our stay. Breakfasts were excellent. Mallard Grange is very special and we cannot recommend it highly enough. This is, in no small part, due to the wonderful owner, Maggie.

Review 85:The environment and friendly staff. Excellent food and a very comfortable room with very good facilities on a working farm in close proximity to many interesting locations.
Review 86:Maggie greeted us with a lovely welcome and after showing us our room made us a big pot of tea with home made biscuits which was served in the sitting room. Breakfast was excellent - a real farmhouse breakfast and relaxed. It was lovely to sit with the other guests round a big farmhouse table. Unfortunately we were in a rush as we were off to a christening but we would have loved to have lingered longer. The room was really well appointed and the bed comfortable - we both had an excellent night's sleep.
Review 87:Rooms are spacious and comfortable. The owner, Maggie, is an absolute delight - friendly, helpful and has a great store of humorous stories. We had a great time. Highly recommended.
Review 88:Nothing at all and not because we are easily pleased. So homely and comfortable.
Review 89:my husband and I loved everything about this working farm. Maggie was so lovely, friendly and informative about local places to eat/visit. Breakfast was very special being the only time you got to meet and converse with other guests about their previous day's experiences etc and the food was really good!!! Very nice little touches in the room such as chocolates, tissues, good quality toiletries. Very spacious room and super duper quiet - excellent for very light sleepers!! Would love to visit again and could recommend this to any visitor.
