The family-run Captain’s House is situated in the center of Skala, only 150 feet from one of Kefalonia’s most beautiful beaches. Friendly staff, a great location and free Wi-Fi make this a great choice.
There are 28 neatly decorated guest accommodations, each of which offers air conditioning and private bathrooms. All of the rooms have balconies, many of which offer lovely panoramic views.

Review 1：Only that the shower cubicle is " snug",but this is a minor issue.

Review 3：Booked this holiday for our golden wedding. Booking showed as a garden room, a description which we took to mean overlooking the garden, and looking like the rooms showing on the website. When we arrived we were taken up to an attic room, 34 stairs & a small room with no view. We were told that nothing else was available, and that we could always look for another hotel in the morning! The next morning the manager did approach us, but could only offer another attic room. We decided to stay put but will be very wary of web sites in the future

Review 7：Didn't bother us, but you can hear the bass beat from the bar quite loudly in rooms at the front, so not ideal if you need quiet to sleep. Stopped around 12 though. (Room 32) Bathroom especially shower area was a bit small and only lit over the sink, but nicely appointed and kept very clean. However, the dark red shower curtain and no light over the shower area meant it was dark in there and made it difficult to see what you were doing with shampoo etc! Again, not really a major problem, water always hot.
Review 8：Excellent location just up the road from the beach. Kept very clean with attentive, friendly staff. View straight down the road to the sea from our balcony was a bonus! Very near to all facilities in Skala. Excellent cocktails/drinks in the very welcoming Captain's Bar opposite, where staff went out of their way to make you feel at home.

Review 14：Was at the front of hotel, facing captains bar, was hard getting ready as you needed curtains open for the light but had people sitting outside and walking past and would see us getting dresses, made it hard for 2 young girls. Need extra lighting Defently...but loved having the bar outside as we would order cocktails and they would deliver to out room... Can't have it all!!!!

Review 18：The staff are very helpful, all of our issues were rectified quickly. Beds are comfortable, although ours was 2 singles pushed together. Shower is powerful. It is close to Skala beach and shops.

Review 21：One of the best bars on Kefalonia is in 5 meters from hotel so be ready that the evenings might be noisy. Our room on first floor was not big, but I heard rooms on second floor a for hobbits. The room itself is looking a bit old. But when you remember the room price, and there's a breakfast in that price, then all these small dislike won't matter.

Review 29：I liked everything. The staff went out of their way to help me. The bedroom was comfortable. The breakfast was good. I met lots of nice people. A very convenient location for all amenities. If I go to Skala again, I'd definitely go back.

Review 52：Shower cubicle too small, price when booked 25 euro, price requested on arrival 35 euro, after negotiation final price 30 euro (however 25 euro room still being advertised on booking.com). This is unacceptable and fraudlent.

Nothing fresh, all packaged foods, almost nothing to eat. -Not friendly / helpful staff. -No wifi in bedrooms. -Tiny shower. -Not clean enough. -Towels are not changed everyday, and if you throw them dirty on the floor, they hang them up for you again, although dirty(!!) -Bed linen is also not changed even if dirty. -Hotel needs maintenance and painting work!! -No lift. -Airco turns off every time you open door/balcony. -No airco in lobby, so really humid and stuffy! -NOT ADVISABLE HOTEL!

Review 56：Don't get the rooms with sea view as their windows are on thestreet with the bar, which is very noise and has a music with creepysound effects. It's impossible to sleep as the music is loud tilllate night.The hotel is very noise, and you can hear every step from the corridor or upper rooms.. Basically every move can be easily heard. It's impossible to sleep more than 7am in the morning, as from any room you can hear how the woman from the kitchen is making a lot of noise preparing the breakfast. The russian woman from the kitchen is also rude and will scream to you if you spend too much time deciding what to get for breakfast, even if the variety is very poor. My advice is to avoid this hotel, even if it has a good location and is cheap.
